In this episode, Chris talks about an idea that is not discussed enough among leaders; the thoughts of "I don't have time to be down" or "I'm not allowed to be depressed". Even leaders in an organization or community can have self-doubts. At these times, it's important to remember to stay vulnerable because you may have more in common with others than you think.

Key points:

Most times, we are just seeing the highlights or accomplishments of successful people's lives; never their struggles

Sources of self-doubt, depression and feelings of unworthiness are common; sometimes they last for a season or just a day

Don't be afraid to get vulnerable with others

There's pressure in making the right decision all of the time

Being someone in an important position does not make one immune to negative feelings of emotion

In this episode, Chris talks about differentiating commitments from the strategies used to achieve said goals/commitments. If you're not achieving your goals as you want, look at where you feel short. Was it in the goal or the strategy?

Key points:

People are prone to be "married to the goal, but dating the strategy"

Most times, we're committed to a certain goal we want and that's all we see

Don't let your strategy become negotiable just because you're uncomfortable

Focus on pushing yourself to reach your end goal, though the work may be rough, it will be worth it

Stay committed daily in both your personal and business lives, as it will take you farther than you may think

This week, Chris talks about the power of thoughts and changing mindsets. When you invest in mental growth, it eventually has to turn into something physical, or the thought has ultimately turned to nothing. It is important to have the right mindset. This week Chris talks about “the wafer rule”, in which you apply a wafer-sized addition of something to your task. For example, in weight lifting, a wafer is two and half more pounds. At work, it could be one extra call a day. The point is too add that little bit more to your flow to maintain the status of always improving.

Key points: ·     Starting small at getting 1% percent better every day, with a goal of slowly increasing. ·     It’s a great way to see real progress without pressure or overwhelming yourself or your team. ·     Even though that little bit feels like nothing, over time you’ve improved even more than you thought you could.   Please let me know your thoughts!    Connect with Chris Vester: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hvautocoo/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4L3dj__KZQNGR24jravoWA LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christopher-vester-6546a6a6 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gymbound

Key points: ·     Document all good advice to share with others down the road. ·     Business leaders should share their ideas instead of being afraid of theft. ·     Saying thanks to someone who influenced you could return the favor in the long run.   Please let me know your thoughts!

In this episode, Chris discusses advice he received on a delicate topic, parenting. He admits that when parenting his children, he thinks of it in terms of what he thinks he should do in the situation. Instead, the advice says to look at things through the eyes of the child and approach a situation through that point of view.

Key points: ·     Thinking as the parent only is not teaching your child how to be a parent one day. ·     You might see a better solution to an issue if you see it from the child’s point of view. ·     Your idea of being a parent evolves over the years; take a moment to reflect on teachable moments instead of trying to be a “good parent”.   Please let me know your thoughts!    Connect with Chris Vester: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hvautocoo/?hl=en YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4L3dj__KZQNGR24jravoWA LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christopher-vester-6546a6a6 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gymbound Learn more about your ad choices. He believes if one of the ways to remain faithful is to share your faith with those around you, then why shouldn’t you? People who share their faith are often drawn to others who do the same. It is a positive, purposeful choice to share your faith in business and life, and reflect on how your worship has touched you in everyday life. In this episode, Chris talks about the importance of a strong mind in addition to a strong body. In an interview between Brad Lea and boxer Shawn Porter, Shawn shares his thoughts on how his body is his work, but that will one day deteriorate with age, but he’ll still have his mind. Chris elaborates on this by sharing his tips on exercising your brain just as much as you exercise your body. Because when you naturally lose the strength of muscle, your thoughts will still have to be there for you.

Key points:

Don’t look for validation, but find it in what you do to take care of yourself.

Develop a mindset that cuts out negative thinking.

When all else fails, the ability to communicate is your greatest weapon and defense.
