In a time when theatre, tv/film, and other artistic mediums try to navigate a global pandemic and social, racial, and economic issues, Atlantic Stage is here to have the hard conversations!
Atlantic Stage is based in Myrtle Beach, SC, and has been bringing professional theatre to the Grand Strand since 2008.
Now, when live theatre venues are temporarily shut down in order to keep casts, crews, and patrons safe, company members Steve Harley, Jason Adams, Mike Kane, and Kaleb Saleeby are spear-heading Atlantic Stage's newest creative expedition!
The Long Monday presents an audio production of "The Akili Spider" by Mike Kane. In keeping with our mission of producing original content, we hope you enjoy this short gothic horror story from one of our own!

The Long Monday presents an audio rendition of The Soldier's Tale by Igor Stravinsky, translated by Jeremy Sams. Jason, Kaleb, and Mike were able to perform this piece in front of a live audience on March 28th, 2021. This performance was presented by The Long Bay Symphony and featured dancers from the Myrtle Beach School of Performing Arts. If you weren't able to view the live performance, we hope you enjoy this audio rendition of the work.

Salvette & Bernadou is the heart-warming and heart-breaking Christmas story of two young French prisoners during Christmas-time in Bavaria, Germany during the Franco-Prussian War. This is a story about brotherly love, tradition, sacrifice, and cherishing the little things that make the holiday season memorable.
Lynzi Cooke is an up-and-coming young artist who is currently a senior at The Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology in Myrtle Beach, SC. She has received an award from the South Carolina Theatre Association (SCTA) for her performance of a dramatic monologue. Lynzi is currently receiving acceptance letters from various universities across the country.

Actors, directors, and choreographers may sometimes be responsible for sexual story-telling on-stage/screen. Steve sits down with Christine Hellman, an actress and playwright, about the process for respectful and consensual intimacy in a play or film. The industry has come a long way from "it's in the script, just kiss!". So it's important to have conversations that allow everyone involved to feel comfortable and confident during rehearsal and performances.
Christine is also a teacher-in-training for the Lucid Body Technique, which is a whole mind and body approach to acting, as well as a portal to greater health and wellness.
