Kathryn Stary is the founder and creative director of Kathryn Stary Marketing and has been in the game for ten years. Her life influences have been many and their effects have run deep, from former Western Bulldogs President Peter Gordon while she worked in asbestos litigation, to the special bond shared with her grandfather and then the profound impact her father, criminal defence lawyer, Rob Stary had on her while representing high profile figures Julian Assange, Jack Thomas, Carl Williams and Tony Mokbel... however it was her own grit and determination she had to rely on while beginning her very own e-commerce business with a modest inheritance received from a family member. It took off after only a very short period of time.
Her biggest challenge has no doubt been the battle her son William is going through, with a rare medical condition that requires specific ongoing attention. She lifts the hood on what it is, how they are handling it together and importantly, how we can all help through blood and plasma donations via Australia Red Cross Lifeblood.
She is absolutely raw, real & relatable. She continues to display great resilience no matter what gets thrown her way, always handling herself with dignity and class. Get to know Kathryn on a more personal level during this emotional conversation - please enjoy!

Why she exited out of the business, the financials behind it & what she would do differently if she had her time again
Emotionally discussing her son William & the rare medical condition he suffers from called Common Variable Immuno Deficiency... only 1 in 13,000 Aussies suffer from it

Toma Banjanin was born in the year 1927. He has lived quite an extraordinary life... one filled with deep suffering, hardships, perseverance and hope. A fulfilling life, living off the land and one full of love, surrounded by family... his wife, 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and the rest of his extended family.
He is sharp as a tack and remembers it as though it all happened yesterday. The detail is quite remarkable as he takes us back in time with vivid recollections of people, places and events that go back many, many decades. As one of the first wave of migrants that came to this country in 1949, the migrant story is one that many can relate to, in a multicultural country such as Australia.

Tate Moore started in real estate much younger than most, in fact he looked so young that he was initially turned away. Once he got his chance though, he grabbed it with both hands and has never looked back. Today, as one of the directors of Jas Stephens Real Estate, he is an accomplished estate agent and auctioneer that is driven, competitive and has consistently been a high performing agent in Melbourne's Inner West for the past 15 years.
I am fortunate enough to work alongside Tate and I am also his business partner, so I get to see him in action every day. However I wanted to share his wisdom with listeners, as I feel he has a lot to give.
We talk about a raft of topics:
His family background and influences
The early work years
Lessons learned and common characteristics that some of his early bosses displayed
How he got into real estate & the main challenge he faced in the beginning
We dive into the things he is extremely effective at
Do the work...
His focus / routine / drive
Why product knowledge and energy are critical
The art of connecting with people
What he thinks his biggest strength is as an agent & what he feels he has mastered
What he still feels he needs to work on & why
