Luke 15:11-32- THE PRODIGAL SON
Welcome back friends! It feels like ages since we uploaded a new podcast, so buckle up for the final four episodes starting with episode five: Becoming the Father.
Claire leads the discussion on this insightful topic. She discovered an incredible book by Henri J. W Nouwen in which he explores the idea that rather than identify with one of the two brothers in this parable, why not instead become the father? Nouwen was moved after experiencing the painting "The Prodigal Son" by artist Rembrandt. He was so moved, it spurred the book and a new outlook on the well-known parable.

The final episode of season 1!!!! It was a long time coming, thank you for your patience with us as we navigated this first season. We learned a lot and will hopefully be more timely with season 2.
This episode is very dear to our hearts. It is centered around the passage from the Gospel of John 14:27. We all know God is love but just as importantly, He IS peace. We also dive into discernment of spirits, how to not be afraid to detach from the world and how to find that peace!
As always, let us know what you think about this topic and reach out to us on Instagram @hismerciesmadenew or via email at merciesmadenew@gmail.com
Another week, another part of your day we get to share together. Episode seven may be our shortest, but sometimes the shortest ones give us the most to think about.
We invite you to take this topic and dive into yourself to see what areas you are not giving over to God and where He can fill those gaps that the world is trying to fill. Whether materialism or loneliness or anything else you have encountered, try to sit with how the Lord is there with you and how He is the only one who will bring you truest joy and happiness.
Our scripture today is from the Gospel of Matthew:
Matthew 11:28-30- 28 “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”We would love to hear how this episode touched your life so please reach out on Instagram @hismerciesmadenew or via email at merciesmadenew@gmail.com

Friends, we are here for the fourth time to share yet another podcast where we dive into one of the most powerful Gospel passages, Luke 12:49-53. Wow, it is filled with some pretty intense words from the Lord.
A few notes to take away from this episode:
1. We cannot uphold something we do not fully understand. Read, read, read and pray, pray, pray! The Church is filled with incredible resources in order for us to share and explain the reasons we believe what we believe.
2. Respect others while holding fast to the Church's teachings.
3. Lead by example and when others are not living fully their faith, invite them to conversation and help them by getting to the root of their doubt or misunderstanding.
4. Most importantly, ask the Holy Spirit to SET YOU ABLAZE!

Hi Friends!
Join us today we discuss 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 and seek to understand the profound truth that God is speaking to us through this scripture passage.
A few key take aways:
1. We are worthy solely because He has chosen us to be holy.
2. We are unqualified but our lack of qualification only means that He can equip us with all that we will ever need.
3. Even if we fail or lose sight of His plan for us, He is waiting with His arms wide open to forgive us and get us back on track.
We highly recommend listening to "Canyons" by Cory Asbury and "Confidence" by Sanctus Real this week to really bring home just how worthy we are of Gods love and grace in spite of our sin and feelings of unworthiness.
