In a world that is often fast-paced, we often forget to take time out to embrace each day for the wonderful things that happen in it. We spend so much time worrying about the "what-ifs," that we neglect the joys and delights that are in our daily lives. We need to remember to slow down, and absorb the beauty that surrounds us. Good energy helps us to face tomorrow's unknowns. Fill your heart with all the joys that God places in front of you, and forever be grateful for the journey ahead.

Summer is coming to a close, and as we approach the beginning of September, we always seem to question where the time went and if we really rested and renewed ourselves the way we had planned. As we prepare for the journey, whether it is within the Church or beyond, we need to be mindful of what we are being called to be and that we are not alone. By blending our energies and recognizing these avenues with others, we are gifted by God to create something more profound. Let us see where God leads us, together.

One of the very first things we learn on our Journey of Faith are the Ten Commandments. Whether you are a youth in Sunday School or an adult in the pew, the Ten Commandments are a staple of our faithful knowledge. As our faithful commitment becomes a part of our daily living, we often forget about the basics of Jesus' Ministry. The important "rules" to live by as faithful Christians spreading God's Love into the world. Take time, review, and faithfully ponder how you can do better at following these important ten in your lives today and every day.

We are often asked or have thought at one time or another, "Where is God?" Often with those questions, we create some doubt in our faithful beliefs. It is often hard to believe in something that we never get to physically witness. But as faithful followers, we need to take time and distance ourselves from the story and breathe and reflect. God is always with us and is blessing and inspiring us daily to spread the Good News of Jesus' Ministry. The angels in our midst are guiding us gracefully to the right answer, we just need to trust that God will provide.

As faithful followers of Jesus, we often forget about the seeds that we must continue to sow within our Church Community and throughout the world, in order to show abundance in Loving One Another. Jesus talked in Parables about God's Love, and encourages all of us to sow these seeds of God's Love, allowing these seeds to set down roots and from these seeds, it can be shared with all. We are inspired to sow hope and vision for the generations to come and extend this inspiration on new places and new paths. How will you share God's Love for the hope of tomorrow?

As a Church, what inspires us? What are we doing to be inspired? Do we truly hear what God is calling us to do in our community and in the world? What are we visioning for tomorrow in our Faith Journey? As we work to be Deep, Bold and Daring in our Faith Journey, we must open ourselves to the surprises that will be brought before us and know that God is always there for us, guiding us and providing us Spiritual Renewal along the way. How will you be inspired to make a better Church of today that will continue to evolve into tomorrow?

During this journey through Pentecost, we look back at where it all began, the Story of Creation. There are many stories that we as People of Faith hear but it always comes back to how the three parts of God are always connected: God, The Son and The Holy Spirit. How would God respond to us now with how we are truly living our faith story? We must remember that we live with Creation and need to continue to be caretakers of God's Creation, ourselves and our community. What would our report card look like from God on how we care for creation and others in the world today?

As we begin our journey towards Pentecost and the celebration of the birth of the Church, we must ponder on all the things we have learned from previous generations. Those words of wisdom help to shape who we are and who we strive to be in this world. Just as Jesus prepared his Disciples for a time when he would no longer be on earth, we need to listen to what God is guiding us to do, to be better people to others and creation. We, as People of Faith, must carry on Jesus' Legacy of Faith, and pray for others and remind ourselves daily that The Spirit is still there, flowing through us, waiting for us to take the lead.

As we continue in the final weeks of the Season of Easter, we reflect on the wondrous presence of God in our midst. We often forget to take quiet moments, to be still and find God in our own individual lives. When we fill ourselves with God's presence, we bring hope and new life within ourselves. God is amazing and is beyond all walls. How will you strengthen your individual relationship with our Creator and become a deeply rich spiritual person?

As the People of God, we are required to build a firm foundation in our Christian Faith, so we can faithfully evolve and remain grounded in God's Love. We are inspired from the Legacy of Faithful People to build on this faith and we are encouraged to make new growth. We need to build, nourish and grow our faith daily as the early Followers of Jesus did, and take this Faith of Love into the world and share it with others.

We are an Easter People. We have walked through the difficult time of Maundy Thursday, the sadness of Good Friday and the new hope of Easter Sunday. We are abundantly blessed. Lent allowed us to journey closer with Jesus, and to continue this journey with the Resurrection stories. These stories allow us to be open to new opportunities in our own personal faith journey. We must continue to live out our faith beyond the Sanctuary, and seek hope and resurrection. Discover the blessings of Easter all around you, and walk with God and see how God is working in resurrecting ways in our world today!

As we come to the end of our Journey through Lent, we are reminded of Peter's struggle before Jesus is sentenced to the Cross. We have all been in the same position of Peter, where we faithfully acknowledge the love and care of Jesus while in Sanctuary, but when confronted by that belief outside of the comfort of the Church, we tend to hold back in expressing that Love and Relationship with Christ to the world. We claim to be strong in faith but remain silent. How will you work on your relationship with Christ, to truly show you are a true Disciple fulfilling God's Love in the World today?

Today, we continue our journey through Lent. As we journey forward, inspiring others, we must continue to look for ways that God is moving in our midst. As we question the motivation of God in our own life, we must remember the vision of God's Love, and how it feeds and nourishes us. What nourishes your Spirit? How will you feed or nourish others with God's Love?

Have you ever struggled with change? Do you often feel afraid to try something new? So often we are put in a place where we need to rethink what we are doing and start over. In order for us to thrive, we often forget that some things need to change. Often hard decisions are just new paths in living God's dream. God gives us so many chances to regroup, rethink and to spread the creative energy of God to ourselves and others. How will you be ready to walk the unique and everchanging path that God has given you?

Have you been judged? Judged by others? Is there something missing in our life that we need to be so critical of one another? God judges us for the things we do daily. But do not be afraid, because it is God's pleasure to give you kin-dom. God reminds us that where our treasure is, is where our heart is also. God only wants the best for us, and in return, wants us to only want the best for others. Do not carry all of yesterday into tomorrow. Let God guide you, direct you, and comfort you into a new direction and adventure of Ministry of Love for all. Hold on to this Love and let it be your guide.

Imagine living in harmony with Mother Earth, with the animals around and with each other, before strangers came to your lands. Without trying to understand Indigenous beliefs, the newcomers condemned this belief system and called Indigenous people barbaric, demonic, hedonistic, and savage.

Imagine you have a certain way of doing things. It’s always the way you’ve done it as long as you can remember, and then someone comes along and tells you a different way you should or have to do it.

Some of the teachings Indigenous communities live by are the Grandfather Teachings, which consist of Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, Humility, and Truth. These teachings can also be found in the Bible. Before contact, these teachings were taught freely and daily in Indigenous communities. There are seven Grandfather Teachings or Laws Indigenous people live by daily.

May our footsteps on these ancient lands remind us of creation and connectedness, in our search for truth.

If you needed to leave your home in an emergency, what would you take with you? How do you come to this decision? What is important to you? Will you need it in the next chapter of your life? Every place we go or encounter, provides us with a new skill or outlook on things. If we continue to carry things from our past, we often miss out on what is directly in front of us. Being in Ministry with Jesus is the same way. Jesus wants us to take each opportunity as a sense of freedom, to let the Spirit into our lives. If we don't lighten our load, we will have no space for the Spirit to guide us on our journey. How will you declutter your time to allow yourself to be a true Disciple of Jesus?

As we listen to the Letter from Paul, we are reminded that all that we have and all that we are, comes from God. In life, and especially in the Church, it is easy to always see where things are lacking. Grace is God's way of saying there is no debt to pay for the many blessings we receive on a daily basis. We need to continue to walk in wonder and give thanks and praise for what surrounds us. What is it that makes us Rich? What will our Legacy be? How will you show Grace and Love in the lives of others, as we know God wants us to continue do?

On this Indigenous Day of Prayer, we celebrate First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples’ values, customs, languages, and culture. In the message today, we are reminded of how are minds have been wired to need and want more, as our society always convinces us, that whatever we have is never enough, leading us to think that we are not enough.

Jesus taught us that we should give with all that we have and all that we are. But often we only give when there is a surplus, and often giving is inconsistent. We need to approach life with what we can give rather then what we give. What we have belongs to God and we are God's Stewards in the world today. What can you do for others and how can you serve them fully, without making it about yourself? By sharing your abundance, this truly makes you a true Disciple of Jesus.

With endings, comes new life. What a wonderful story we witnessed with the Season of Easter. As we make our way through the Season of Pentecost, we look at the things that are blossoming and emerging in front of us. This doesn't mean that things will not be difficult, but if we stay together in love and openness, there is no stopping us on how much we will achieve. It takes a community to build a vibrant ministry. Trust in the Spirit. What can we let go of to be a truly UNITED church?

In today's scripture reading, we have the privilege of hearing Jesus praying to God.  By listening to Jesus praying, it helps to guide us as followers to show the same love and care for one another as Jesus did. Jesus wants us to know God's Love, and wants us to carry HIS Love into the world. We have One Unity as Jesus' Followers, and we need to stop noticing what makes us different and recognize our Unity of Spirit. We are all loving expressions of God, and we all should have a deep desire to express this Love to one another without hesitation.

The Greatest Commandment ever told was to Love One Another!

What does it mean to belong to a Community? What is our obligation to that Community? Jesus demonstrated how far His Love would go for us, and in return he asks us to Love As He Has Loved.  If we have fully committed to live as Jesus did, it involves a strong commitment to being faithful, loving, engaged and present in our Community. Have you committed to Loving All As Jesus Has Loved You? How are you living and being a part of your Community?

The Season of Easter is here.

We are reminded of the Good Shepherd, and the strong bond that Jesus has with his followers, as a Shepherd does with their sheep. Shepherds are valuable and essential both in Bible times and now, but back in the days of the Bible, the job of a Shepherd was often not highly regarded.  So many were repulsed when Jesus considered himself a Good Shepherd.

But as a Good Shepherd, as his followers knew, we can trust him to protect us and guide us, if we continue to listen to his voice. We just need to choose to only listen to the voice of God through Jesus.  By following Jesus, it unites us, strengthens us and gives us hope, as Jesus gently leads us and calls us forward.

The tomb is empty and Jesus is Alive! Hallelujah!

As we focus on the Resurrection of Jesus, we are asked how will we be remembered and what legacy will we leave behind for those to continue. As Disciples of Jesus, we need to live in a way that is mission-focused, the way that Jesus taught us, by creating Love for All and to Speak for the Unspoken. We continue to follow the path to Palm Sunday, where we are asked how do we know who we really are and which true reflection is you?

As we journey through life, our own Spiritual Truth is often reflected on us from another. Our own true Spiritual Principle is to Be of God and To Be Love. Often we find it hard to love ourselves, and often miss the way that we are reflected in the eyes of God.  We need to embrace what God know us to be and live by the one commandment with two hearts. Loving is one expression of God in Living Form, if we can not love ourselves, how can we love another? How will you learn to Love and become the Face of God to others?

As we continue to journey through Lent, we are asked the question, "Are we a Welcoming People?"

When we say that we are accepting of others, sometimes our actions do not match our words. How we live and respond to others is essential, if we fully receive one another unconditionally. Our values are only values if we actually practice and live them. We need to consistently reflect on our own heart, and remind ourselves when we look at others, we are looking at another Child of God. How will you continue to keep a check on your own biases, and learn to stand inside the heart of another?

As we continue to journey through Lent, we are asked the question, "Does our Spiritual Health align with our Core Values?"

Our Spiritual Health is important and it aligns with both our Physical Health and our Mental Health. Without our Mind, Body and Spirit, working as one, we are not our true self. Spiritual Health is much more then coming to Church. It is about seeking purpose and meaning and connecting to God and to each other. It isn't about what you believe in, but an understanding of our gifts and what we can offer the world. How will you make sure your Spiritual Health is cared for and encouraged to grow, throughout your many journeys?

Reverend Jeff Chant speaks to us today on the Scripture, Mark 9:2-9.

As we come to Transfiguration Sunday, we are asked to honestly reflect on our own personal journey, and think of all the ways we have changed throughout our life. If we truly value Spiritual Growth, we must integrate our experiences and come away better from all we encounter daily.

Unexpected moments in our life often cause us to pause and re-evaluate what is important. Shouldn't our Spiritual Journey be the same? Shouldn't we be always willing to walk with openness to witness God's Spirit? Are we even listening for God's voice? We must continue to seek wisdom and change our behaviours, so we can journey and evolve with God's Love.  Are you willing to listen and adapt to what God is asking of you to change?

Reverend Jeff Chant speaks to us today on the Scripture, Mark 1:29-39.

As we continue to journey through Epiphany, we are reminded that it is human nature to serve and care for others, a skill that Jesus did throughout his Ministry. If we do not care for others, you often go into a place of isolation and unhappiness.

We are reminded that we need to pray and reconnect with God, so we can find out where we are needed the most in fulfilling Jesus' Ministry for a better world. Our service to others needs to come from a place of compassion and spirit.

How will you find your Sabbath, to reconnect to yourself and to others, and use your gifts and talents to serve with an open heart to your community and beyond?

As we continue to journey through Epiphany, we are asked to look at these scriptures in a modern context.  These old stories can truly be seen as new. Jesus shows compassion, healing and acceptance to all, no matter who they are or what they may be suffering from. We need to humble ourselves enough to see ourselves in this story of Jesus' compassion for others.

Our faith is dependent on God, and how we chose to follow God's path with Jesus. Our Call is to show more compassion and more acts of love to one another. Love conquers all.

How will you look for these ordinary miracles in your everyday life and use them to follow your own path of being God's Light and Love in the world today?

Reverend Jeff Chant speaks to us on the Scripture, Mark 1:4-11.

As we continue to journey towards Epiphany, we are brought to Jesus' Baptism, as Reverend Jeff asks us what it truly means to follow Jesus and to really be a Christian. Jesus' Baptism is when Jesus' true passion for Ministry begins.

We are then reminded about the commitment we made to Jesus during our own Baptism. We made the choice to act in the way of Jesus, not just at Church, but in our everyday life. We are called to ask the hard questions and continue to show love to all, no matter the circumstances, and continue Jesus' wonderful source of Wisdom, Love and Light in the world.

What if we had the same heart as Jesus, what would we be capable of doing in the world today?

Reverend Jeff Chant speaks to us on the Scripture, Matthew 1:18-25.

As we continue to journey through the Season of Advent, we are reminded of the moments in our lives when we wanted to do the right thing, but are often swayed to take the easier route, which more often then not, is not the right path.

Today we hear the Story of Joseph, and how he hears God Calling, and even though he realizes his decision will go against the norm, he chooses to take the path that will lead him into abundant life and new life happenings. Joseph believes that this Child will bring a new world of living, and this moment with God, truly helps him to see his true faithfulness.

How will you prepare yourself to receive and welcome the Christ Child in your midst and fully receive the Gift of Jesus?

Reverend Jeff Chant speaks to us on the Scripture, Matthew 3:1-12.

As we journey through the Season of Advent, we busy ourselves by getting ready for Christmas. What if we spent that much time and energy on our own Spiritual Well-Being? How would the Gift of Christ look to us then?

We often think about repentance as being remorseful for something that was wrong. But in truth, to seek true repentance, we must be remorseful, change that part of our life and turn away from it for good. What do you need to do to turn your life around to truly receive the Prince of Peace fully?

Reverend Jeff Chant speaks to us on the Scripture, Luke 23:33-43.

The idea of God is often seen as a Fearful God. We are often told we must do our best in order for God to love and care for us truly. But we know from the many Parables of Love and Acceptance, that our doubts about God should be freed from this False Narrative. We need to be open to God, and allow ourselves to be vulnerable, and show our true selves always. What messy parts of your life are you willing to share with God and others, that will allow you to be a true follower of God?

Today, Reverend Jeff speaks to us on the Scripture, John 15:9-17, and how we need to pull into our present, our moments from the past and be reminded of the most important commandment, Love One Another. As we remember all that we are in this world, and all that others are to us, how can we share the light of these memories, these freedoms and these friendships, and reflect and spread the knowledge of this wonderful peace that God has given to us through God's Love?

Today Reverend Jeff speaks to us about the Scripture, Matthew 18, and how we have a hard time balancing both church and community. It is a delicate balance when we do not want to be conforming, and truly are loving, caring, and deeply accepting of all. Reverend Jeff speaks to us about the Scripture, Luke 19:1-10, and how the wealthy tax collector felt he had everything he needed, but was always feeling like he was deeply missing something. We are reminded that Jesus is always seeking us and trying to show us a new way of living. What is crowding our own lives, that causes us not to get a true glimpse of the Love of Jesus?

Reverend Jeff has an in-depth conversation with Barbara Sylvester, who is originally from Eskasoni but is now married into the community of Membertou. Through Barbara's words, she reminds us of the importance of September 30th, the day that marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We honour Indigenous children who were taken from their communities and families to residential institutions. Indigenous communities across the country continue to share the truth they have always known: that many of the children who never returned home remain on the grounds of those institutions in unmarked burial sites.

For non-Indigenous Christians in particular, this is a time to reflect on our role in colonialism and the ongoing responsibility to make reparations. How will you reeducate yourself on Indigenous truths?

Reverend Jeff reflects on the Scripture, Luke 18, as we are asked if we ever feel judged by others? Throughout our spiritual journey, we have often heard that God was the judge of us, that God is always watching whether we are doing right or wrong. We need to remind ourselves, that during our struggles and our successes, God is with us always, supporting us and loving us, encouraging us to respond to the need of others, as God cares for our own. Who will your heart speak up for?

Reverend Jeff asks us to truly ask ourselves, "Who do we say we are?" By taking up our cross, we are following Jesus and becoming one of his Disciples. Where do you see Jesus in your life and in your midst? Where and when will you seek Jesus' direction and wisdom? Walk with Jesus, and seek the Spirit.

Reverend Jeff reflects on the Scripture, Mark 7, as we are reminded of Jesus' preaching and teaching to the Jewish Community, and at this point in the Scripture, Jesus just wants time to himself to rejuvenate, but is challenged by a woman during this time of solace. It reminds Jesus that there is always room for all. What can we do to make sure that all are heard?

Reverend Jeff reflects on the Scripture, John 6, as we are reminded that the things that should hunger us to be, are the things that Jesus stood for: To Belong, To Be Loved and To Find A Connection. You can not love someone unconditionally, while simultaneously judging them. Jesus loved the world, so how are you going to Become Love while following in Jesus' footsteps?

Reverend Jeff reflects on the Scripture, 2 Corinthians, as we are reminded that giving is rooted in the idea of equality, and by giving, we are reminded that it is not what you share from abundance, but how you can serve or give to one another in Love. To give is to see the other person. How will you show others that they are enough?

Reverend Jeff reflects on the Scripture, Mark 6, as we are reminded of Jesus teaching in his hometown and calling his twelve Disciples. It is hard to be a Prophet in your own town, but we are reminded to strip away the things not needed, and continue to do God's work, by providing a space where everyone belongs, by having deep faith and responding to the needs of others. Jesus reminds us as we walk forward with God, we will not please everyone, but never allow that negativity to stop your footsteps of faith, and the continued path that God is leading you on. Will you continue your wonderful journey with God?

Reverend Jeff reflects on the Scripture, Luke 18, and the parable that asks us who is the Good Guy or the Bad Guy. He reminds us that our whole life is a prayer and how we live our life daily, is an engagement with God. We separate ourselves from God when we separate ourselves from others. Who do you identify with more, the Good Guy or the Bad Guy, will you accept all those that walk before you?
