Who's Ben? POPCast: Recent Episodes

Ben

The Who’s Ben? POPCast am the entrepreneur who struggles daily to overcome the conformity effects of my education. I believe that non-conformity is probably mistaken as ADHD and thankfully conformity was handled physically and not medically back when I was in school. The POP as in POPCast is an acronym - The first P is for Passion, and that is how you attract and inspire others, the O is for Obsession, and obsession Is the only way you can stay on a constantly moving and often obscured target, and the 2nd P is for Perseverance, because the journey is so darn hard and filled with tearful sleepless nights. And Master these three values:- 1. Manage your Resources so you have cash-flow,- 2. Follow-up so you can truly appreciate the value others add, and-3. Never waiver from making things better! This is our first clip of the first episode. We just needed to start somewhere! For video, please visit https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2joclcXq525F6ITC1b3cQg-Ben and Evelynn

But how are you gonna find it?

Take the time to find love in whatever it is you're doing.

People who enjoy their jobs are more likely to be optimistic, motivated, learn faster, make fewer mistakes, and better business decisions.

The mindset you choose to take on when working is very important.
Be conscious of the benefits you are creating for yourself and think positively.

Entrepreneurs need to look forward to complaints from customers.  Complaints are the rock that must be mined before you can get to the diamonds.  And so if the Customer is Wrong, then it gives us the empathy to actively discuss the Customer's needs, because we understand our service/product because we care about the enrichment of the customer.  And when someone is negative towards us, we need to be more negative so that we can help them get past their frustration and begin healing them.  Our mission is to manage the Customer's expectations, preferably upfront.

Debuted on December 7th, 2016, my Birthday. Only grossed $24 million worldwide but is the best movie to watch for any existing or up and coming Entrepreneur.
Ray Crock, played by Michael Keaton is The Founder, a 52-year-old milkshake mixer salesman, in the Midwest, who found out that they had sold a high number of machines to a restaurant in San Bernardino California.
I would like to talk about this from 2 directions, first is Ray Crock, the Founder and obviously entrepreneur extraordinaire and secondly from the perspective of the McDonald Brothers who absolutely entrepreneur geniuses.
The Ray Crock Side of the story:
1. He signed a franchise deal without understanding it.
2. He soon realized that selling franchises to investors meant that he couldn’t maintain standards.
a. He changed to finding hard-working people as franchisees.
3. He almost lost his house and ended in divorce after creating 13 locations because his franchise fees did not cash-flow.
a. This led to his changing what he was selling to the franchisees, a lease on the building and land of the restaurant.
i. It gave more control over the operations, because if they didn’t follow his rules, he could cancel their lease, which would be much simpler legally than revoking the franchise agreement.
ii. It allowed for almost instant market capital because real-estate is much easier to finance.
iii. It allowed him to get more money from the operations of the restaurant.
4. The cash-flow and hassles tied up in ice cream were converted to malts.
The McDonald Brothers:
1. Recognized that 80% of their drive-up restaurant sales were from a handful of items including hamburgers.
2. They developed the Speedee Service System and designed the Golden Arches.
3. They had tried several franchises and couldn’t maintain standards from franchisees.
4. They refused to give Ray Crock a lifeline by allowing more franchise fees from the franchisees.
a. This is the sole reason that McDonalds changed to a real-estate based business, it is the reason that McDonalds went far beyond just being a regional chain.
I always believe that everything that is great in this world, is built through absolute agony. It is getting through those dark moments that lead us into the dawn.
And absolutely when it is right, it is simple.

Nothing in this world can take the place of Persistence!

We spend too much time splitting hairs on stuff that's just not important, and the important things don't get the attention they deserve.

You don't have to get everything right just the things that matter.
