My name is Jimmy Calandra , I was once a member of the Infamous "Bath ave Crew" located in Bath Beach Bensonhurst Brooklyn NY. My Neighborhood was an recruitment center for the Five Crime Families in New York City. Gambino, Genovese, Lucchese, Bonanno, and Colombo Crime Families. As I was growing up "These wise guys watch you and look for kids they can recruit and mold into thieves, crooks, and murderers. In time they recruit us and teach us the trade of a wiseguy. As you are growing up and committing crimes, these " Men of Honor" they call themselves in which is a joke because there is no honor in that life. They put you on record with them and teach you how to earn on the street and teach you how to become a better criminal. In return they introduce you to a circle of Underworld crime figures that is the mafia. They teach you that we are responsible for each others actions and that they are your Brothers, and if they call upon you in the middle of the night "you come with no questions asked" and someday you too will be a Made Member of this secret society "crime family". They tell you to just be patient and do what you are told, even if it means "Killing your Best Friend that you grew up with all your life. There is no honor, there is no loyalty, there is no respect. My channel is about telling stories about my experience in my life. Its about losing, falling down and getting back up. It's about Redemption, Memories I will share of my life and the people I befriended throughout it. I will be doing one on one interviews with people who were a part of that life the mafia, gang members, law enforcement members, and anyone who has a story to tell. This is my Redemption.
Life Behind a 40 foot wall is no joking matter. Not seeing the people who love you everyday, not being able to help them with the struggle of the bills in the house. The only thing you have is that phone. That phone is the only outside connection you have to the people you love and adore. Prison is living worse then an animal. I went away I was 23 years old. I broke my mothers heart and wasted many years of my life. If I have one kid listening to me, " Take a trade, go to school, don't be a follower, be a leader. The streets, and gangs are not the way to go. I hope you enjoy this story. Jimmy Calandra A Bath Avenue Story.. Checkout my youtube channel

At the age of 23 years old I was sentenced to Lewisburg Penitentiary for a bank robbery o committed in Brooklyn ny. On that case I got 5 years running concurrent with a 4-8 in the state for beating up a guy with an ax handle. Looking back I learned a lot from that experience. Doing time in Lewisburg I received my GED and also took some college correspondence courses. I was a great experience. Every night I also had a guy by the name Matty Madonna sit-down with me every night and help me study . He wanted to see me succeed and pass all my test.
