Ayn Rand trended on social media. A lot of people love to hate Ayn Rand (for whatever reasons they may have). Rand's books are quite profound if read from the position of loving freedom and free markets. In this episode I discuss some of her quotes and why they should be heeded as lessons against authoritarianism.
In this episode I talk about the latest happenings from the Portland riots. I also talk about living a meaningful life through self-reflection. Too few people truly think about their lives and reflect on how and what they are doing day-to-day. Reflecting on our actions, desires, goals, successes, and failures helps to reduce stress by placing things in their proper perspective. Our goal should be to live a meaningful life, not a happy life. Through reflection we can focus on doing things that are meaningful and happiness will naturally follow.
On this episode of the podcast I talk about online schools and how Arizonans will be voting on legalizing recreational marijuana. Also, New York City continues to go from bad to worse. The NYPD is hamstrung to keep the peace and protesters continue to line up against the police.
Our successes and failures affect how we view ourselves and the world. Our views of our world impact our relationships in work, and they impact our societal beliefs and positions. We must recognize our own methods of attribution so we can reflect a holistic view of our successes and failures so we can become better at making decisions. In this episode I talk about how we interpret our successes and failures and what that means to our daily decision-making.
In this episode I talk about the difference between the objective world and the subjective world. Many people embrace the objective world to the detriment of (intentionally) abandoning the subjective world. The subjective is the world of myth. When we abandon myth, we threaten our modern day myths in comic books, video games, and film (to name a few).
There is a prevailing fear, among many Americans, to not speak openly about your political beliefs. Many fear that if you speak your mind about things, the "other side" will do everything they can to punish you for 'wrongthink.' A free society requires people openly share their ideas. A society who does not share ideas, even ideas some find offensive or 'wrong' can have tragic unintended consequences. On this episode I explore why this is the case.

My first episode is a quick introduction to the show. I talked about what I am doing and why I am doing it. I wasn’t really sure what I was going to say when I hit the record button. I just started talking. I was quite taken aback by how easy it was to share my ideas.
I want this show to be a beacon for those who share my values and my interests. If you’re a conservative interested in culture (and pop culture for that matter) then you’ll probably find something interesting in my podcast.
