Is integrity the same as doing what’s right? At first it might seem that way—but there’s a big difference. In this episode of Spill it With Rios, we dive into how integrity is more than single choices; it’s a lifestyle of consistency, honesty, and character.

Parents, you’ll learn why your example matters more than your lectures. Teens, you’ll see that while respecting parents is important, integrity sometimes means making better choices even when adults fall short. Together, we’ll unpack real-life examples, struggles, and practical steps to build trust across generations.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • What integrity really means in everyday life.
  • Why doing what’s right isn’t always integrity.
  • How parents can model values, not just rules.
  • How teens can respect parents while thinking critically.
  • Steps families can take to build integrity together.

This is an episode for the whole family—because true integrity impacts every generation.

Friendships used to be simple—playdates, school lunches, hanging out after class. But as adults, maintaining friendships gets… complicated. Between busy schedules, moving to new places, different life stages, and endless responsibilities, staying connected isn’t always easy.

In this episode of Spill it With Rios, we dive into the real talk about navigating friendships as an adult:

  • Why friendships naturally change as we grow older.
  • The biggest struggles—distance, drifting apart, mismatched priorities.
  • Practical ways to keep your friendships alive and meaningful.
  • How to know when it’s time to let go, and why that’s okay.

This episode is your reminder that while adult friendships take more effort, they’re also more rewarding. So grab your coffee or tea, tune in, and let’s spill it—because your friendships are worth it.

This Go For It Series we dived back into Blended Families. We know hard topics in blended families often revolve around establishing roles, managing conflicting parenting styles, and addressing emotional baggage from past relationships. Communication, particularly about the other biological parent and financial matters, can also be challenging. Additionally, navigating issues of loyalty, especially for children, and adjusting to new family dynamics require open and honest conversations. Topics that were retouched in this episode are:

  • Adjusting to New Roles
  • Mixed Feelings About Stepparents (and Stepchildren)
  • Loyalty Conflicts
  • AND ALL THE NON-STOP IN-BETWEEN

Happy May and Happy Asian American Pacific Islander month!! I wanted to do a quick episode to talk about how this month encourages broader conversations about AAPI history, culture, and experiences, helping to combat stereotypes and misconceptions. By celebrating their diversity, it fosters a greater sense of inclusion and belonging for AAPI individuals and communities. AAPI Heritage Month also serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by AAPI individuals, including discrimination, hate crimes, and the need for greater equity and justice. Hope you enjoy this episode!

We get raw and down to the nitty gritty in this episode on the Go For It series!! I had the honor in speaking with Jade Bradawell. She is a single mother of 3 toddlers age 4 and under. Life took a turn in her life where she was overweight, abused, had miscarriages, lost her house, lost her job and so on. However, from those experiences in that era of life, Jade managed to overcome all of the obstacles. Present day and as we spoke in this episode, Jade is now a business owner (transformation coach), down 125 lbs, and happier than she has ever been! You DO NOT want to miss this episode

Full circle a year later:
We all deal with toxicity in our lives, whether we want to deny it or not. It is unfortunate how sometimes it becomes a part of our daily lives. In this episode, I sit down and talk about how we can deal with toxic people, how to recognize if someone is being toxic, and what can we do to prevent being around/handling toxic people.

In this bilingual episode, what better way to than to reintroduce myself but in two of the three languages I (comfortably) fluently speak. What better way than to get the story from one of the sources?! I'm going to GO FOR IT and talk about my story and how I got to where I am today (because this podcast is all about learning through a story). Buckle up friends, because we are going ALL IN.

THROWBACK TO START THE NEW YEAR!!!!

In this episode: Being able to get in gear up mode to keep up with what you are passionate about is SUPER important. Going with your GUT feeling to TAKE ACTION to what you are passionate about is what this POWERHOUSE guest spoke about. As the podcast's first guest, Dolores Adriaanse breaks the challenges in taking that leap of faith in what you want to do, no matter what SEASON of LIFE you are in. As the owner and operations manager of 3D Max Fit, her mission is to encourage many who, like herself, embrace themselves to going for what there goals, hobbies, or even passions are in life no matter how old you are. She believes anything is possible as long as you put you mind to it and put the time and effort to get to your goals. Dolores opens up about her experiences and how she took the noise and negative nellies around her and decided to instead turn it into something impactful. She shares with us how she didn't let her lack of knowledge stop her from starting something she was excited about. Instead, she encouraged herself and also loves encouraging others to embrace what is around her and BELIEVE that she could and just GO FOR IT!

Such a raw and deep conversation. We hope you enjoy this episode!

The LAST throwback and Go For It Series episode of 2024! What better way than the episode that took off when the podcast started: GRATITUDE.

When was the last time we acknowledged something in our life? We chat about this in this week's episode and use this as a CALL TO ACTION! In this week's episode, I want to challenge you guys to consider what is STOPPING YOU from being grateful for what is in YOUR LIFE. Why stop being grateful? Why do we not normalize recognizing gratefulness? Because here's the truth: PEOPLE. ARE. GRATEFUL and THANKFUL for YOU.

We are continuing to keep it real as always.

This throwback takes us back to one of the VERY first episodes of the podcast!!
This is such a great memory because it reminds me of how the podcast got started, who I was reaching out to, and what topics I wanted to talk about. This is one of the special ones I did with one of my best friends, Janae Smith. MIND YOU ALL, this was done back in November/December of 2022!! 2 YEARS OF THE PODCAST and Janae was one of the first guests. Enjoy this nice throwback!

Have you ever had that GUT feeling or just that little jiminy cricket voice in the back of your head constantly telling to you to go and TAKE THAT RISK? Or go and call your shot on something you have been putting aside for a while? Or maybe even a hobby that in reality that ended up being passion of yours and you just thought "I cannot make a living out of this!" Oh we have a JUICY conversation for you on this episode! Janae Smith is a screenwriter, song writer and zumba instructor who from when she started college all the way to present day, her alignment in her path has changed in ways SHE was unsure of. She talks about what steps she took to get to every goal and also talks about how hard it is to GO FOR THE CHANGE. Because let's be real, who likes change and CALLS THEIR SHOT the second the opportunity comes right at them? We second guess ourselves right?!

Such a fun conversation and honestly more of a catch up as well with an amazing friend. Hope you enjoy this episode!

This throwback episode was one of my favorites in 2024. The description below speaks for itself when we talk about IMPOSTER SYNDROME.

Imposter syndrome is the condition of feeling anxious and not experiencing success internally, despite being high-performing in external, objective ways. This condition often results in people feeling like "a fraud" or "a phony" and doubting their abilities.

I felt that we needed to bring up this conversation in the podcast because for our self-development, WE are BEAUTIFUL with WHO WE ARE. No need to feel like a fraud. There is no room for self-doubt. You are not an imposter in your life.

THROWBACK THURSDAY! I had to bring back throwbacks with one of my young guests who has been absolutely killing it in her business while balancing her life in between! Let's bring it back to Veronica's story and her journey with Vero's treats!

This week's guest is a young entrepreneur and big dreamer! I had the pleasure to speak and chat with Veronica Jiminez this week. She is a current student and also business owner of Veros Treats! As a young entrepreneur, we chatted about how she started her business, the transition period between when she first started (2020 aka COVID) to where she is now, AND how she dealt with balancing it all.

On today's episode, the guest and I talk about something that I have been passionate about: COMMUNITY.

Today's guest is Miss Lauren. 5 years ago, Ms. Lauren became an empty-nester when her daughters went to college. At that moment, her husband Josh and her felt that they still needed “kid energy” in their lives. Ms. Lauren always had been involved in her children's schools as a homeroom parent and with their activities. Ms. Lauren began volunteering with the community in our local community/city, Norristown. It was at our mutual community where Lauren learned about immigrant students and made the commitment to learn to speak Spanish. Ms. Lauren loved it right away! It opened up her world and changed her career path.

Present-day, she is a lead tutor at a well-known organization in Norristown for their after school program, and also mentors several students and teach English to some students and adults who have come to the United States recently.

This week on the pod my good friend Ashley Symes is BACK!!! For those that do not know or is there first time meeting Ash through the podcast, she is a published author, woman leader, and a student. Ashley's primary goal is to contribute positivity to the world. Whether if be through her writing, leadership, or her never-ending quest for knowledge, Ashley takes great care to make a meaningful impact and inspire positive change in others.

We got to talk A LOT MORE on how she started the idea of Tiny Mad Ideas, started my reaction and hers after I READ her book and what the journey was like!! The accountability, consistency and craziness of the book IS REAL. I highly and truly recommend this book for self-development and growth if you have not gotten a chance to read the book yet.

I got real heavy in this episode. I got uncomfy. But I opened up.

This is my story (with what I can share) about my blended family. All the things between the details of how my husband and I got together (one of the MAIN reasons I spilled...), my relationship with each of my stepkids, and how life is right now.

I got raw here and basically spitball words and vomited a few things (I would not have it any other way).

AND SHE'S BAACCKKKK!!!!
I had the WONDERFUL opportunity to sit down and talk with our friend, Saquoya Weldon! For those that do not know Saquoya, here are a few fun facts about our podcast guest:
- She is 31 years old who is NEWLY MARRIED and she also has a daughter (who is a mini queen herself!)
- She works full time as a social worker/therapist.
- She has a strong passion as a zumba instructor and Turn Up! instructor.
- She enjoys traveling, reading books and also astrology/tarot readings.

We get a LIFE update. Saquoya and I talked all the things since we last spoke and we got UNCOMFY! We picked up from our last conversation about our experiences as fitness instructors and how much has changed in a YEAR. We revisited the depths on how important it is to look out for yourself in your own community but also learn that you are YOUR #1 support system. If you want FIRE, JUICE and 'I NEED YOU TO BE DIRECT WITH ME', my friends this is the girlfriend to girlfriend conversation you need to hear! If you want and/or need a personal hype person in your life, SAQUOYA IS THAT PERSON!

I get a little raw and real in this episode as you and I have an open conversation about Blended Families. Hence the title 'Blended Talks'! This is more of an update since we last spoke more in depth about Blended Families, and quite frankly a more IN DEPTH update on my end.

I dive into debunking a lot of sayings and quotes that have resonated with me and other stepparents/parent-related. What have been the debunking and sayings stepparents have heard almost all the time and I dive into my perspective in debunking the myths.

I dive right to the JUICE and tools that is not typically conversed every day. I want to normalize this conversation and have it open so that no one would be afraid to speak up over this matter.

Intertwining previous episodes of the 'Go For It!' series and along with what is currently happening in my season of life, this episode is all about LITERALLY going for what you believe in. I sit down and talk about why it is important to go for your passion or goals, and talked about all of the guests we had (so far) in this series who started an idea and took that idea to turn it into something MORE. Don't miss this episode on the 'Go For It' series!

This raw conversation was definitely one that needed to be had especially with a certain event just around the corner. I wanted to use my platform to shed light into the upcoming presidential election (and Election Day in general). I want to promote the importance of using your voice and how important it is to register and vote during this season of the year. What better way to talk and converse about the election than with my girl, Lina Latini.

For a recap: Lina lives in Pittsburgh (West PA, while I am East PA) with her husband and soon-to-be 2 year old daughter. Lina is expecting her second baby in October! She is a physical therapist and works in home care. She loves nature, being outside and staying active.
The reason why I wanted to bring Lina back on the podcast and converse with me about this particular topic because her and I have a friendship that (we feel) is uncommon nowadays: having different views in life (this includes political views). We talk about how important and healthy it is in agreeing to disagree, conversing respectfully with not interfering nor swaying to change opinions, etc. I can go on and on about this topic but this episode by far was one of my favorites to record to date. Listen in!!

This week on the podcast I had the honor in speaking with Treanna Oliveri. She is a mama, wifey and business owner from South Philly. I had the pleasure in speaking with Melissa Chippolini in this episode on the podcast. She is a psychologist, latina, bilingual, and a Philly girl living in NY/NJ. Melissa has experience treating individuals with lots of different areas of concern including balancing cultural identities, relationship stressors, healing trauma, and mood concerns like anxiety and depression. Melissa also has forensic experience, treating and evaluating individuals with history of violent or sexual offenses; and experience conducting law enforcement evaluations.

The conversation between Melissa and I ranged from being first-gen/second-gen kids, growing up during that time of our lives and how to navigate stressors around that. We also touched based on managing and navigating stress for young adults and young parents. It was super fun catching up with an old friend and even more fun talking all the things that Melissa has been up to.

The Culture Shock series are going to be podcast episodes posted once a month highlighting a specific culture or generation. This will be a combo of solo and guest episodes where all the things involving different cultures (then vs now) and the generational gap we experience on the daily.

I'm joined again with my friend Jessica Scheer is no stranger to the Spill it With Rios podcast realm. (Check out her pod episode here when she was last on: )

Jess and I talked all the things of Germany and any stigmas or differences that many may or may not know when it comes to the German culture. It was such a fun conversation and we all, including myself, learned a lot from this talk.

In today's episode, I had the honor to speak with a badass woman, Nicole Moore! She is a mom, a wife and an entrepreneur who owns a cheerleading and Tumbling business called Cheerboss and her upcoming sister company called Lifeboss! Both of her companies focus on building skills in a wide range of activities, as well as offering, healing, growth, and support to our local community!

Nicole is a local small business owner who started her cheer and tumbling business a little over 1 year ago; now, she and her team run classes in 3 locations. In this podcast episode, Nicole talks about what she overcame and the many difficulties in the last few years to get where she is today personally and professionally. Her mentality has always been to strive to continue to reach her goals! We spoke about her journey prior to building #Cheerboss and how #Cheerboss has lifted her out of the troubles she was facing. We also spoke about how much her business and her drive gave her me hope and purpose! "That’s one thing I’d love to show other men and women going through hard times that you can pull through and find happiness." Nicole also spoke about her love on bringing that same happiness to the youth in the community as well.

This episode is all about the hottest (and actually a typical controversy) topic in the stepparent community: DOUBLE STANDARDS. Why is it that we rally and give support around a mom, for example, who says "I need a break" but criticize a stepmom for saying the same thing? Whether it's being able to say "mom things", attending doctor's appointments or parent-teacher conferences, or simply being welcomed into a "mom" community - it's something we always deal with. Let's recognize and talk about it in this episode! :)

Coming in HOT and SPICY with this one. After a one month hiatus, I'm coming in rapid fire with this episode. We get to the nitty-gritty as to why we encounter HATE and the discovering of TOXIC people. Why they do what they do... I have talked from the very beginning when I started this podcast that I wanted to be real with you and open up my journey as we all grow together in this self-development journey. No matter what season you are in, everything falls into place. I wanted to remind you about that for this quick episode because I feel like we all need that reminder sometimes. Honestly, where I am personally and also in a group effort with my family, we are all happy but at the same time we are trucking through life in crazy ways (just like any other family that has their ups and downs and struggles).

And you know what? It's okay. We are all in this together and we are meant to learn and grow from each experience.

I had the privilege to catch up with my not-so-little cousin, Jonathan Nam. He is currently a student filmmaker from Emerson College and a Quadball athlete. He is also an active jack-of-all trades if you will for someone that is diving into Media and Film! We dive into how his major changed his perspective with what he wants to do with his career and also how self-development played a factor into his decisions today, including relationships, friendships, career paths and more! This was such a fun episode to record with having two different generations input their perspective in society AND how similar we think in the seasons of life we both are currently in.

This may sound like two cousins talking it up at a family party but you DO NOT want to miss the juice Jonathan brings to the pod this week!

This week we talk about giving yourself the grace in taking a leap of faith. Whether it pertains to starting a new career, choosing or changing your major of study, picking a new location to live, starting a new project, AND MORE. We all go through some sort of change in our lives where if it is something new or never done before, the feeling of uncertainty and comfort settles in. Sometimes we do not even recognize the fact we stay stagnant because of how comfortable we all are.

I talk with all of you on how, together, we can get out of the funk of being stayed put in comfortability and also how we can move forward in our day to day. It is not an easy process nor a walk in the park; but there is ALWAYS room for growth.

LISTENERS! You guys are in for a treat with the first guest of Spill It With Rios in 2024!!! Meet my girl Cristal Jacobo:
Cristal Jacobo, is a former school teacher who traded school curriculum for soul curriculum, Cristal works with entrepreneurs and leaders all over the world to help them connect to the core of who they are and connect to the MORE. She is the founder of (She is made for MORE ™ ) a movement for women all about embodying their MORE as a collective and taking action, she hosts events and retreats that serve women all over the world.

Cristal is also the founder of (The Soul Breath Academy) a 6-month trauma and breathwork certification program that serves coaches. Cristal believes that who we become “in life & business” is directly correlated to the subconscious soul programming we’ve all received through our childhood. Her curriculum infuses soul work + breathwork and gives individuals the tools to connect to who they are and what is true for them away from who they grew up to be. A way to connect to the truest version of themselves and guides them lead life and business unapologetically owning all their MORE.

We got to talk about what it means to MANIFEST in your energy and with what you want to do, and we got to dive in deeper.

"You are the representation that somebody is waiting for" and "Your dreams are NOT an accident."

In this week’s episode on the podcast, the chat is all about ignorance in a blended family, or I like to call it "Blended Ignorance." Here, we converse about all the things that pertains to misunderstandings, miscommunications, and hard experiences. This was a hard episode to record, not going to lie; and just like any blended family that go through difficult times, there is always a solution and bumps in-between to get to the outcome. Sometimes, getting to the outcome is A LOT simpler than many may think; it is only a matter between the parties (typically the biological parents aka exes involved).

All the tea and juice coming at ya this week!

In this week’s episode on the podcast, the chat is all about consistency. Now tell me, when was the last time you’ve been consistent, 100% consistent, with whatever endeavors that you end up doing or what you planned on doing? Majority of the time when we answer the question, the answer is that we lose focus, and do not finish what we were to accomplish. There seems to be some sort of excuse or even a legitimate loss of focus when we loss the consistency.

And you know what? There’s nothing wrong with that as long as you acknowledge it. We talked all about that during this week’s episode on the pod!!

I get a little raw and real in this episode as you and I have an open conversation about Blended Families. Hence the title 'Blended Talks'!

I dive into how to navigate the basics when entering a blended family and what to do and not do when running into any conflicts or hard decisions. This podcast is a source of sharing and "we're all in this journey together" vibe. There are wonderful resources that are more insightful to lean into deeper with these topics.
- How do we navigate open communication?
- Can we get back into a routine?
- One household turns into two?

I get into and dive right to the JUICE and tools that is not typically conversed every day. I want to normalize this conversation and have it open so that no one would be afraid to speak up over this matter.

Being respected by important people in our lives growing up teaches us how to be respectful toward others.
Respect means that you accept somebody for who they are, even when they’re different from you or you don’t agree with them.
Respect in your relationships builds feelings of trust, safety, and wellbeing.
Respect doesn’t have to come naturally – it is something you learn.

We talk about this today because I felt that this was an episode that we all needed to be reminded about. I wanted to make this a part of our Call to Action series so that we not only talk about showing an example to future leaders but to also walk & lead by example as well.

AND WE ARE BACK!!!

I wanted to recognize this episode as a 'NEW SEASON' because this podcast IS in a new season of life and it is EPIC. This may be a short one for this week but I wanted to use the 'Call to Action' series as a tool for you, the listeners! I talk about our brief life update but dive more into the craziness of peer pressure and acceptance. I will touch more on each topic individually in later episodes but for right now, I wanted to share what peer pressure has been like and how important it is to accept ourselves in the season of life each of us are in.

We have all been there. You know that feeling where nothing goes your way?

We go a different direction this episode and take a step back on this one. We know that few things in this crazy life are certain. But, one thing we (unfortunately) know for sure? At one point or another, we're bound to feel defeated and deeply disappointed. Some examples may include: bombing your big presentation at work, getting into a small fight with one of your best friends that will suddenly turn into a full-blown best friend breakup, etc. Whatever your situation, things will at some point get blown out of proportion.

It’s normal to feel defeated in life sometimes. After all, we all have our unique struggles and challenges along our journey in life. The important thing is that you learn how to face these roadblocks in your life. Whenever you’re feeling defeated in life, I hope our conversation today allows you to gain back power and control in what you want to do.

Make it a Habit! Continue to Love Yourself!!

Even if you don’t feel particularly powerful or feel like you are making some sort of impact, think about how far you’ve come! You’re here, right now! Give yourself the grace and patience with all you have done.

We focus so much on our external relationships — our significant other (or the person we want to be our significant other), our friendships, colleagues and bosses, neighbors, and even strangers on social media. It can be easy to prioritize these relationships and give them your time, energy, and attention. Because we have the routine in putting others first before OURSELVES. That’s not to say prioritizing healthy relationships — like a loving and supportive friendship — is bad, so long as you’re prioritizing the relationship with yourself, too. Yes, it's true.

Self-love can mean something different for each person like we mentioned in a previous episode. BUT, here I wanted to deeper into making "Love Yourself" phrase a HABIT in your EVERY DAY life. I would love to hear what you guys think about this!

We are talking about the craziness of GOSSIP and RUMORS in this conversation, my friends. What is the difference between gossip and rumor? Does it make a difference when we get older on how it affects us? We talk about how much it affects our relationships and what gossip and rumors can do to us internally.

This is a conversation, as friends, I felt that we needed to bring up because for our self-development, gossip and rumors have such a negative connotation in our lives, we sometimes do not know how to spin it around to turn it into a lesson to be learned. Handle with care and stride with pride. :)

SELF-LOVE!
Love yourself!

Giving and SHOWING yourself the LOVE you deserve is something we need to CONTINUE to talk about. We always tell others as part of advice that you should love yourself. The one relationship we tend to forget is the one with OURSELVES.

Self-love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth. It can also mean having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness. YOUR happiness. YOUR well-being. Self-love means taking care of your OWN needs and not sacrificing your well-being to please others. Self-love means not settling for less than you deserve. REPEAT this alone my friends as you listen to this episode!

Self-love can mean something different for each person because we all have many different ways to take care of ourselves. Figuring out what self-love looks like for you as an individual is an important part of your mental health. I would love to hear what you guys think about this!

We talk about RESPECT! Yes, that R-E-S-P-E-C-T :)

The conversation, my friends, is all about this very simple yet very difficult task we tend to lack. It is nothing bad in being reminded to continue to show respect and to be respectful towards others and even to yourself. We break down what respect is and why is it so important to have it in our lives.

Receiving respect from others is important because it helps us feel safe and to express ourselves. Being respected by important people in our lives growing up teaches us how to be respectful toward others. We talk about how respect in your relationships builds feelings of trust, safety, and wellbeing.

Gaslighting. To be the Gaslighter or to be Gaslighted. That is the real conversation we are having today. And honestly, this is NOT an easy conversation to talk about with you guys. You and I dive into what is gaslighting and recognizing it in FRIENDSHIPS.

I wanted to talk about this with you because I feel like no matter what season of life we are all in, friendships are all common. Where there is friendship, I am going to be real with you by saying that there is a friend (or maybe few) who knowingly or unknowingly are gaslighters. I talk about the basics of gaslighting, how to recognize it in your friendship circle, and some solutions on how to resolve the toxicity of gaslighting. It does affect a friendship these days and we need to think of ourselves in these types of situations, regardless how long your friendship has been or how much you can trust a person you call your friend.

I wanted to get real with you on this one because this is important in a friendship. I'd love to hear what you guys have to think about this! Always love suggestions you guys bring in to the podcast.

Actions may speak louder than words. We all have experienced that in some shape or form in different seasons in our lives. You may in a season where you are around your friends more than your own family and they have seen you in a way where you know your family will not understand.  The words you use hold more power than you may even realize. Maybe you are in a season where your family is very tight-knit and the closeness bond you have is special that can never be explained. Or you may be in a season where the noise around you is too loud and you just wish you can shut it off with an explanation or a mute button.

We are here to talk about YOUR WORD. We all have said things great and not so great to people we care about and even to complete strangers. Words stick to people FOREVER. They are tattoos for the soul and the heart (in my opinion). Whether you’re sharing a personal story or simply responding to someone else’s, it’s important to be mindful of word choice because what you say can increase the stigma around mental health, and have an impact on those around you.

We are still in May and this is for those who recently graduated: whether it be college/university, certification of some sort, continuing of education, etc. I know during this time of the year for those moving on to the next step (graduation, job certifications, etc.) there is a lot to process. But I am focusing particularly on my college graduates since I said last week this episode will be geared a little more towards you.

I wanted to reach out to you during this episode because you might have already walked across the stage during your graduation or you could be in the process in getting ready for graduation! You too should take this time to cherish the moments. I always tell my kids and all of you every day to continuously BE YOURSELF. I will repeat: the generational growth in leadership continues and future leaders are SELF-MADE. All that you do here on out is what is best FOR YOU. The people that care about you will give and tell you opinions and advice all for the benefit FOR YOU. Remember, sometimes it is hard to hear difficult opinions, even if they are true or you just flat out disagree with them. The rollercoaster of failures and successes is how life goes.

Tune in and I would love to connect with you guys!! Thank you for continuously supporting this podcast!

As we approach May, I know during this time parents are rushing around like headless chickens and students (whether you are in middle school, high school, undergrad or even grad school/continue education), this time of the year leads to something very common: GRADUATION.

My young audience particularly, I wanted to reach out to you during this episode because as we are winding down the school year, take this time to cherish the moments. I always tell my kids and all of you every day to continuously BE YOURSELF. The generational growth in leadership continues and future leaders are SELF-MADE. I get a little deep with you guys in this episode talking about my take in graduation (high school and college), my opinion towards it, and what the next chapter holds. If you are not graduating and just turned 18 or about to turn 18, this episode is also for you because I do get into the next scary thing: ADULTHOOD. Don't worry it's not as scary as you think.

We each go through phases in life where we pick up a hobby, give it some time for enjoyment, and, like many, we stop and either never get back into it or return later on down the line. Each of us are currently in different seasons of life and we own up to where we are at this very time. DJing was not the case for our guest this episode.

The DJ business alone is its UNIQUE take as it all starts with the DJ themselves. I had the pleasure speaking with Michael Gines, a professional DJ and owner of Perfect Match Entertainment, where we got to break down what makes his DJ business and style different from the rest to how he got started! A husband, father, a son, an uncle, cousin, friend and other hats on top of that, Mike has always been on the go with his creative mind and always thinks outside the box whether it comes to family or his business. This is a conversation you do not want to miss!

We get to break down and have a little heart to heart on this episode my friends! We talk about the fear of rejection and that feeling on when you get out of your comfort zone and it does not go your way. Well as we know, in the fear zone, you will probably lack self-confidence first and foremost. We allow the opinions of others may affect you. Worse yet, they may discourage you. Nevertheless, with your desire to move forward and reach the growth zone, you should just stop for a moment and think about what you are doing and why. This is essential. Stopping to think will allow you to move on to become successful. That is a certainty. You must remain convinced of this.

Doing this mindset shift will allow you to LEARN and GROW every second by letting yourself loose and also be a better version of YOURSELF.

Getting the positivity flowing in our bodies is important and those endorphins tend to slip when we do not stay consistent right?! I got to sit down with my good friend Julia McGlone. Student mentor by day, zumba instructor by night, Julia loves making time to do what she is passionate about everyday alongside the support of her husband and dog. She loves to read, dance, hike, and anything that allows her to get outside.

We talk about how much of an impact Zumba has been in our lives and the outcome of it whether first timers take the class or a consistent weekly student. We also got to the nitty gritty on how important it is to work towards being the best version of yourself and how Zumba has done that in her life as well as other activities that trigger those endorphins in our body.

Continuing to keep it real with you guys as we dive into TAKING RISKS on this week's podcast episode. Tell me my friend, when was the last time you said to yourself, "I'm going to go for it and take a risk at _____!" When was the last time you CHALLENGED yourself to take that leap of faith in doing something that you have never done before. If you answered a long period of time, it's okay because that is COMPLETELY normal. We are allowed to feel that way. We have all gone through that life experience where we question our own gut feeling. And you know what? There is nothing wrong with that! We shed some light as to why taking risks is a GOOD thing and how often we put it in such a negative connotation in our lives. I'm excited to have this conversation with you friends!

We return with this topic again! Digging a little deeper and talking more about (may be a repeat for some!) but I feel that this is something that we need to recognize what are the causes of being a people pleaser and signs of a people pleaser. I wanted to reconnect with this topic because this has been something already middle of the 3rd month of 2023, where this constant nerve to WANT people's attention and thoughts just to HEAR validation or certainty.

We keep it short and sweet with this episode. You can make a difference in the world in so many ways. Using some of the ideas we discuss in this week's episode, you can have an impact on your family, community, or around the world. But first, it all starts with YOU. By bringing out the best in yourself first, you can then bring the best in your inner circle and then globally. Make sure you’re treating everyone closest to you with so much love and kindness because that level of positivity can ripple out too.

In this RAW episode: Deep. Real. Emotional. Raw. All the words to describe how transparent you want to get. This episode not only was special to me but also something that we wanted to share this week.
Brittney Alguire, entrepreneur and photographer, breaks down the ups and downs growing up as a child in a blended family AND also pushing through the "millennial norm". As the owner of Brittney Alguire Photography, her mission is to inspire many who, like herself, want to pursue passions and dreams that they know THEY can do. She believes anything is possible as long as you put you mind to it and put the time and effort to get to your goals. Brittney opens up about her experiences and how she took all of the hardships she endured from child to adulthood. She shares with us how she didn't let anything nor anyone stop her from going what she believes in. Brittney also shares how important SUPPORT truly is and how much it can affect relationships from family to friends to partners, etc.
This episode not only is about family/blended family talks; but we want each person to hold onto this conversation as a way to know that you CAN go for your goals. You CAN get through ANY hardship in your life.

We all know how the  comfort zone is a psychological state in which things feel familiar to a person and they are at ease and in control of their environment, experiencing low levels of anxiety and stress. Inside the comfort zone, we each know how people don’t typically engage in new experiences or take on any challenges. They only participate in activities that are familiar, making them feel “in control” of their environment. Inside the comfort zone, people don’t typically engage in new experiences or take on any challenges. They only participate in activities that are familiar, making them feel “in control” of their environment.

We talk about how important it is to state that like most behavioral change attempts, moving into the growth zone becomes harder without some level of self-awareness. We need to pass from one 'zone' to the next until we reach GROWTH.

In this episode, we break down REASONS to leave the comfort zone, HOW to go from the comfort zone to the GROWTH zone, AND the benefits in leaving the comfort zone.

Leading by example is often defined as behaving in a way that shows others how to behave. To put it another way, what you do rather than what you say is used as a guide for others.  We all know that old saying: “actions speak louder than words.” And when it comes to leadership, this couldn’t be more true. We define a leader as someone who sets the tone for those around them, and their actions will always speak louder than their words.

In this episode, we break down defining what it means to lead by example, the benefit in regards to being a good leader, and how to avoid any common mistakes when we lead by example. So I challenge you to ask yourself: How do YOU lead by example?

Can you believe it is already February?!  I wanted to take this time to reflect back on a previous episode regarding Gratitude. Can we name a time when we state how grateful we are or how someone recognizes the gratitude we return to them? Here we look into the 3 stages of Gratitude: Recognition, Acknowledgement, Appreciation.  In this short episode, we dive into these three stages and how we can experience each stage and benefit from its rewards.

You do not want to miss this one! Short and sweet!

Have you sat yourself down at some point and randomly thought, "Why do I do this?" Pondering about what your WHY is in life is something that we do not normalize for ourselves. Your why is your purpose in life. It is that DRIVING FORCE that keeps you going when times get hard and keeps you on your toes when things are going well.

We each have a different WHY. I wanted to pop on and explain that part particularly since we all walk in different seasons in life. There are several commonalities for each WHY. This includes love, security, family, etc.

So I challenge you to ask yourself: WHAT IS YOUR WHY? Your why might be obtaining financial independence. Or finding a job that enables you to travel the world. OR it could even be seeking meaningful relationships or pursuing your personal ambitions. Perhaps it’s looking at life in a different perspective. No matter what it is, it can serve as your central force to guide and help you make those decisions that can take your mind and YOURSELF to accomplish what YOU want to do.

As we reach the end of January 2023, I wanted to take this time to reflect back on what we have gone through so far and use this episode as a way for us to RESET, RESTART, and REFOCUS. A lot of us have gotten used to the mundane of being "on-the-go" almost all of the time where we tend to forget to take a step back to recharge for the upcoming events and whatnot. Turn up the volume if you need to slow down in the mundane because this is FOR YOU. Today we talk about FOCUSING, RESETTING and REMINDING yourself of YOUR JOURNEY. Get comfy on this one because we are taking this at a WHOLE NEW level together but to also make sure we get comfortable with each other in this journey!

This episode helps you to take a step back and to slow down in this "on-the-go" routine a lot of us live by.

Distractions. We all have them. In this episode, we talk about how to stay focus while overcoming distractions.

Many of us tend to wrestle with focus and we are trying to find the right balance between being plugged in (because new information sparks ideas) and unplugged (acting on ideas requires full attention). It is so easy to overlook small changes that can add up.

This episode is people pleasing. We all deal with people pleasers and maybe even be one ourselves. The discussion takes us towards the reason why we people please, how do we avoid it, and tips to navigate around it.

Reminders:

  • Reduce stress & make decisions that SERVE YOU.
  • People pleasing tendencies & charting a path that feels aligned for YOU.
  • Navigate the anxious thoughts that come with the fear of letting people down or staying stuck in analysis paralysis around a decision, and give tactical advice to help move out of people pleasing and into CLARITY.
