Sonic’s 35th anniversary is the topic and the time, as we wind back to June for a longer Radio Redux than normal. One taken from a recording during the related CrossWorlds festival. Kevin is joined by fellow ‘Team Terribad’ member Luna Arcanos, bubbly Scottish gremlin Ninten and mutual friend GuardEzio… who’s not really much of a Sonic fan so is bemused by most of what is going on.

Includes retellings of SEGA stories, character discussions and historical matters long forgotten – plus Kevin getting very angry at how SEGA have handled the health of the community in the years since!

On today’s Radio Redux show, Kevin winds the clock back to Nov 2025 as he and Feniiku catch up over some CrossWorlds. Fresh back from Sonic Con, there’s plenty of stories and laughs to share – as it turns out the more things change, the more they stay the same…

Kevin is joined by Urtheart and Skyblaze to talk about the latest LEGO Batman game before getting serious with a discussion about ‘games as art’ and the dangers of a digital-only future as Sony dumps physical media.

Kevin’s back and he’s joined by Urtheart and Skyblaze to discuss hiding from the heat by watching ‘Masters of the Universe’, and the XBOX restructure of their restructure’s restructure.

The boys finally come to the end of the Not-E3 period, by turning their attention to a Nintendo Direct full of surprises big and small – one of which had been rumoured for some considerable time: The Ocarina of Time remake.

Back and slightly roasted from the UK/EU heatwave, Turbo and Urtheart (with a quick intro from Kevin) are here to talk about the rest of the June Not-E3 announcements. Starting with all the XBOX games coming our way, from new Gears of War and the Halo remake… remake, to a Crazy Taxi reboot that’s garnered consequences.

That’s if XBOX don’t close all the studios first.

Clawing their way to the end of the Summer Game Fest review, there’s SEGA updates ahead – and worryingly the Sonic Racing: Crossworlds karts might be powered by the souls of all the dead mothers of Sonic and company. Because not only is Godzilla joining the party in year two… but Evangelion is as well!

Does this mean Vanilla is dead and her soul stuffed into Cream’s kart? Is Vector going to go full Gendo Ikari on the Sonicverse? Enquiring minds want to know!

Urtheart bemoans the sheer number of game festivals as Turbo and he finally get on to the rather unwieldy named Summer Game Fest 2026. Where there were things we didn’t know… and certainly things we did. Things that will be there to frustrate poor GuardEzio at a later date.

Still, at least Resident Evil: Veronica is there to make Turbo happy.

With the boss taking some time away, Urtheart and Turbo take over hosting duties on Radio Redux as everyone deals with Not-E3 2026, and first up that means all the things over at PlayStation’s State of Play showcase. A showcase that was definitely one of THE PlayStation showcases of all time and didn’t leave them scratching their heads at times.

Still, at least Wolverine was there to go ‘snikt’.

Kevin and Urtheart continue their discussion from last week, with everything from closing Destiny 2 to the woes of Gang of Dragon and the slightly annoying nature of The Talos Principle games.

There’s also a big discussion about maximising the licences Dead By Daylight has with Jason Voorhees now joining the roster. Could more have been done with what they’ve got? Could the new Hellraiser game trigger a new team up?

That and it’s time for someone else to enter… THE DARK ROOM!

Nowadays we’re a lot more appreciative of video game soundtracks, but which ones would you say are your favourites? Urtheart leads this discussion alongside @OfficialRadioSEGA DJ’s Skyblaze and GreenViper8 as the trio delve into their personal favourites to contrast and discuss.

Since it’s been weeks since there’s been a Radio Redux, Kevin and Urtheart get together something to discuss changing times in the community with old faces departing and new names (literally) and progress with the ongoing TSSZ conversion project. Plus Urtheart getting a BAFTA (sort of), the point of Geoff Keighley, the design on the new Star Fox game and Kevin getting invited down to London to see Bentley Jones’s Absolution concert.

Mid-way through a discussion about game remakes they’d like to see, Urtheart brings up the Metal Gear series only for things to IMMEDIATELY derail with one pet peeve.

It’s not that Kevin dislikes Big The Cat – he just hates what he represents. Not to mention there’s been some very convenient memory slippage by the Sonic fanbase on the reasons WHY his character went the way he did. Namely, it’s all their fault. We head back to Urtheart, Skyblaze and Greenviper’s discussion about their favourite video game soundtracks, which goes from hidden gems in obscure franchises to well recognised bangers that is always being requested of Skyblaze at gigs. Which ones have passed Viper’s phone test?

Ever since Kevin revealed he could do a pretty decent Jet The Hawk voice, his friends and people on the Twitch streams have loved it. But when a visiting Urtheart gives him the surprise present of a Jet the Hawk Funko POP he doesn’t realise he’s contributing to an unnerving set of events that has seen the Babylon Rogue start to haunt Kevin in real life.

It’s the start of April, and what was initially intended as a filler segment to compliment the soundtrack discussion quickly spirals into a whole show dedicated to Kevin and Urtheart going through the games industry’s April Fools for 2026.

There’s good ones. There’s bad ones. There’s ones that are not actually April Fools at all! Then there’s SEGA who put out three. One of which, as Kevin explains, shows that no one actually knows SEGA’s own brand guidelines there – and another for CrossWorlds is actually an idea Kevin pitched for All-Stars Racing! Wait, is this yet ANOTHER of Kevin’s old ideas recycled by them? Happy Reala Day, I guess…

From a special adaption of the BBC’s Room 101 format, Turbo is challenged to get his gaming pet peeves into the room where things are banished forever. All he has to do is convince Kevin, the guardian of Room 101, that his pick needs to be erased from existence.

So when he comes up to the plate with Marine the Raccoon from Sonic Rush Adventure – one of the games Kevin himself worked on – it might be a bit tricky for him to get the Australian side-kick in…

A two-part show today, as we first go back to last week’s show for an extra section between Kevin and Urtheart discussing the team-up – and relationship between – SEGA and Capcom. How it stands out in terms of the seemingly genuine reverence each shows the other and what other matters might come from it.

After which we head on to the first of a four part discussion on video game soundtracks that sees RadioSEGA’s Skyblaze and GreenViper be drafted in to talk to Urtheart. With choices all over the map in terms of eras and series it’s going to be a heck of a ride!

With RadioSEGA themselves being the ones to now celebrate 20 years of being on the air, join Kevin & Urtheart as they discuss topics such as the unexpected joys of unemployment and the world being attacked by a (non) alliance of Sonic music concerts.

There’s also the little matter of Kevin receiving some surprise gifts – some more surprising than others – that has left him in danger of having a collection.

Episode 271 of Radio Redux marked 20 years since the first official episode back in 2006. In celebration Kevin was going to bring an old segment back from that first show – then SEGA showed up with their dramatised podcast about Team Chaotix, a tribute to the serialised radio shows of old – which is EXACTLY the same concept as Chaotix X.

A little ticked off by that, and given that Chaotix X did indeed feature in that first Radio Redux show, Kevin chose to prove a point and made a brand new 30 minute episode of Chaotix X from script to finished production in under three days. Using modern production techniques and tools that are now available – and weaponising his stupid sleep cycle.

Featuring the vocal talents of DoubleXXCross, Turbo, Urtheart, @nintenerd7680, ShadowFox, @LunaArcanos and of course Kevin himself reprising the voices from the original 5 episodes.

PS: Spot the deliberate mistake

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has a lot of connective tissue to the wider Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. But it’s very nice to see the Babylon Rogues back again – even if it feels they’ve been sacrificed a little to prop up CrossWorlds.

Plus, you know… Shadow tried to off them in the animation.

20 years ago, way back in the very first episode of Radio Redux, we had a segment called Chaotix X. A serialised detective/mystery featuring Team Chaotix, that paid tribute to old radio shows of the past. Full of their tropes and styles.

It is bad. It is cringy. It is dated and the humour of the time. It is done by one person twenty years ago with a dodgy mic and even dodgier accents. Production values do vary as a result.

But given SEGA have spent a bunch of money on creating basically the same concept two decades later, here’s the original. All 5 episodes of what was at one point referred to as Season 1 – “The French Connection”. Plus a skit related to the series.

Was fun pulling out the old files for this. Enjoy.

Now there’s an echinda we’ve not seen in a while! It’s been 20 years (“and a smidge”) since Radio Redux was first broadcast. Kevin sits down to talk about that, how it began, his journey initially as a Sonic fan and the different roles the show has filled.

You know something that’s also twenty years old? Chaotix X, yes Kevin’s silly little one-man skit that appeared in that first episode. A tribute to old radio dramas of the early years of radio – and what do you mean SEGA are now doing the same concept as an official thing? Well. We’ll see about that! Time to see how a new episode sounds, only with 20 years of production advancements and as usual only a few snatched hours from a handful of days.

When Urtheart makes an offhand comment downplaying Cornish Pixies, it’s up to Kevin to take the proud Cornishman to task on his slander and correct him on his pixie (or piskie, in this case) knowledge. Only for the pair to fall down a rabbit hole of ever more ridiculous claims

With Radio Redux on the cusp of a major milestone, Kevin turns to the past for a bit of a filler show. Winding the clock back to the Beta test for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and what would end up being the first go at the Persona festival.

Feniiku is streaming the game, and looking for friends to drop in. Kevin, with nothing to do, pops in and is introduced to Feniiku’s old friend Luna Arcana (now Arcanos). Thus begins a beautiful friendship and the forming of the three into a terrifying bad racing outfit: the birth of Team Terribad. And discovering Kevin can do an eerily accurate Jet The Hawk voice.

With their discussions about Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and licencing nearly at an end, Kevin terrorises Urtheart with a list of ‘possibilities’ of who might be happy to sell out based off a worrying marketing framework: Funko Fusion.

Season 10 of Radio Redux comes to an end as we skip back and forth in time between a lost 2024 discussion about the Sonic Symphony event (and gaming fandom in general) and Turbo and Ninten looking back on it being a year since London’s Miku concert.

As everyone contrasts and compares, Kevin mulls over the upcoming Sonic Con and drawing a line for himself – in feeling responsible for the community any more.

After Kevin introduced Urtheart to the wrestling concept of ‘The Forbidden Door’ last week, the pair continue their discussion about the partnerships of Sonic Racing: Crossworlds.

From Mega Man design cues, lamentations about which Turtles are being used and Kevin trying to explain to Urtheart how Avatar: The Last Airbender worked. Before going through all the various options you could add in from both Sonic and SEGA franchises given what they’ve got planned for their legacy/all-star series. From how cool it is for Mephilies to be the Sonic franchise’s ‘Schrodinger’s Cat’ villain, and the narrative possibilities going forward – and why he absolutely SHOULDN’T be in. To Hatsune Miku and Majima running off to have a night out and the associated Summer of Sonic 2026 idea that Kevin would put into place.

And given Sonic is selling out to literally anyone for a buck at present, Kevin uses Funko Fusion as a guide as to which franchise would play nice for some money, with more and more ludicrous suggestions until the whole show nearly falls apart. It’s ALL happening! It’s ALL canon! And if you don’t like it, well it’s ALL Rexy’s fault!

“I pity the fool who listens to SEGA of America.” This week’s show was close to the wire, but it’s definitely worth it as Urtheart and Kevin continue to discuss Sonic Racing: Crossworlds and the Minecraft festival as well as a whole host of other gaming topics.

Including Battlefield 6 taking over everything on GamesSpot, Mortal Kombat and video game movies, why the Broken Sword series might want to try a little harder at its marketing, and SEGA getting the Olympics licence back by the power of Green Amy Rose.

Plus Kevin proposes how to break a million Sonic fan hearts – and corrects Urtheart on something Cornish? The sacrilege!

After a busy week, Kevin decides the best way of getting a radio show about Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds done is to invade Turbo’s Twitch livestream while he and Urtheart and playing it. After all, the Hatsune Miku festival for it is on – even though its shelf life is extremely limited, as he’ll explain.

It’s either that or explain just what else has been going on in the Sonic community this week and errrrrrrrr…. yeah, best not.

Kevin’s having a bad few days, as he battles being torn in many directions. Thankfully he is not torn on his love for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – although he has some notes. That and questions on if Rouge the Bat is having a ‘crisis’ during her tricks.

We then zip back discussing the rest of the most recent Nintendo Direct, including Kevin on the return of the Virtual Boy, Ninten on Pokémon’s interesting grasp of geography and Turbo’s confusion at yet another remake of Fatal Frame 2.

We zip back to last week to discuss more Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds after the network test, as Kevin and Urtheart heap praise on one particular design choice. Ninten gives her opinions on characters she’d like to see join the races, leading to a discussion about how SEGA need to do better with black representation in their human characters.

After that, Turbo joins Kevin and Ninten to discuss the most recent Nintendo Direct, including Metroid Prime 4 and the historically iffy popularity of the Metroid series. Some unexpected Bayonetta connections, Donkey Kong Bananza‘s DLC, Fire Emblem refusing to just leave everyone alone already and Kevin reminds everyone of that time Nintendo got terrified by boobs.

With the network test over, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is most definitely a fun experience to play. Is it an original experience? Heck no. Especially given how much work from its predecessors has been stitched into it.

Kevin, joined by Ninten and Urtheart (plus cameos from Feniiku and Luna Arcana) they discuss their first impressions. Including mechanics, story and even character development. How SEGA have still not learnt some lessons and how Shadow the Hedgehog tried to kill the Babylon Rogues in the recent animation – but then again, according to Twitter Jet The Hawk might be a domestic terrorist…

It’s been a while but Radio Redux returns with a slightly unusual show. A show about… waiting.

On the appropriately numbered #258, Kevin is waiting with Twitch streamer Blast The Bomb for a game of Dead By Daylight‘s limited time 2v8 mode. Except they’re stuck in a queue and no game actually seems to be coming. Now they’ve got nothing but dead air to fill across both their streams with two audiences that have never engaged before – and it’s the first time they’ve ever properly TALKED together. Um. Awkward.

(Be warned, this is a bit more sweary than most RR shows – absolutely not due to an increasingly frustrated Blast.)

It’s Emerald Coast‘s turn to get the Community Spotlight treatment, as EC boss Vger is joined by ValorB, Sonic Wrecks contributor Nemain (a.k.a Akhmin) and fellow future LMC staff member ShadowFox. Who has something odd strapped to a snooker cue, apparently…

Since everyone else is discussing it, Kevin reluctantly drags in both Urtheart and Ninten7 for a show discussing the Sonic The Hedgehog 3 movie trailer. Returning for another year, the second edition of SEGA Knowledge Showdown is now its own standalone show and the stakes have never been higher. Three teams, more questions and a whole lot of fun expect you as you relive what happened in 2021 in terms of SEGA games and music.

Battling it out in this ‘SEGAducational’ quiz are Greyfore’s TEAM HIDDEN PALACE featuring Skyblaze and Last Minute Continue‘s Kevin. After things kept getting in the way during the last few recording sessions, Kevin sits down behind the mic to discuss all things Sonic x Shadow Generations – a game that absolutely did not need to happen but that apparently is. Not only will it’ll probably screw up everyone’s remake hopes one way or the other, there’s the little matter of silly design choices and weird misunderstanding of ‘The Ultimate Life Form’.

Why, for example, do people seem to think he’d emblazon his stuff with the logo of the enemy that tried to kill everyone he knows?

In the second half we begin a little mini-series for Radio Redux, as Urtheart is joined by Skyblaze and Greyfore to discuss Pokémon big, small and unfathomably silly, But just what is the best Pokémon, and why are they not immediately saying Ekans?

Is it possible to be too old to be a Sonic fan? After so many years in the fandom at The Sonic Show and Sonic Cage Dome, as well as being involved in community endeavours like Summer of Sonic, The Opinion Zone‘s Jay Egge Mann is starting to have doubts.

Sat by a warm fireplace, drinking mulled wine – okay he isn’t but he’d like to be – Jay puts out an SOS to old friends SonicpoX and Kevin to see what they think of his personal festive midlife crisis.

50 shows and many years after it ended, somehow Radio Redux has made it to it’s episode 250! Everyone’s a little (see: a lot) older, but are they equally wiser? Kevin’s in the chair as your host for a fiendish quiz to tax the memories of two teams – one from RadioSEGA and the other from Last Minute Continue itself.

They’ll need to answer questions on both Sonic and SEGA, of course. But how is their song lyric knowledge? Are they able to find the answers in a legally distinct connections round? Or maybe, even, remember the history of not just the community they’ve all been a part of for well over a decade, but the very show they’ve all been on multiple times?

The crew’s back for a third week of Guillotine, and someone’s in the queue for beheading that no one wants to do the deed. Can they figure a way of avoiding it? Or will they keep passing the buck over until someone’s forced to?

Once the second game is done and over with, Urtheart guides the others through his tales as he’s been traversing Dark Souls with RadioSEGA’s Gavvie, as well as soloing Dark Souls II. Among that he’s also been keeping up with his FFXIV content and been speeding through Pizza Tower.

Another day, another orderly queue of beheading as the crew are on the second week of Guillotine. In the final day of Game 1, Marie Antoinette joins the queue, but whose going to get the high scorer. When a winner from that is revealed, and the crew get underway with the 1st round of the second game, Vger tells the others about him watching the 3rd season of Star Trek: Picard, taking turns doing puzzles in Portal 2‘s single player with his significant other, enjoying Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania and South Park: Stick Of Truth, all whilst risking summoning LMC’s Goose Cult as he’s been playing Untitled Goose Game.

It’s another day at the table for the LMC crew, and they’ve loaded up a game none of them have actually played before: Guillotine. Everyone gets points for beheading the French nobility, as you do, but who will be losing their heads?

After a few rounds, Nibal gives the Nobility a moment of respite as he talks about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, having finally finished it! As well as that, he’s taken breaks between it by playing Titanfall 2, and suffering at the hands of Gamefreak with their Tera Raid Events in Scarlet and Violet before their presentation.

They say ‘life begins at 40’ – but now that Kevin’s actually reached that milestone, he’s beginning to have doubts. Things certainly aren’t slowing down for him, and the fact he’s now released multiple volumes of Last Minute Chilled hasn’t helped matters.

But it’s led to a bit of a hard introspective thought: when you look back at your gaming history, just how many of your ‘Top 10’ games have you played recently? Do you even have the time to do that when you’re crushing forty all the time?

It’s finally time to bid farewell to season two of LMC Cast, but first we’ve some things to wrap up as Kevin is here to introduce, as he calls it, ‘the turkey sandwich of LMC Cast content’.

Part One: You thought the Game of the Year discussions were over? Well they are. But Turbo, Urtheart and ShadowFox also had some honourable mentions that had to hit the cutting room floor due to time constraints. Let’s go through those, shall we?

Part Two: Kevin’s life has become somewhat more complicated. ShadowFox has cashed in 100,000 Twitch channel points in order to trigger the ‘Pick Your Poison’ reward; where followers can pick something from Kevin’s game list and make him do a stream on it. ShadowFox has also invoked T.A. Black’s idea of a Deal or no Deal-style game to pick the title in question. (See LMC Cast #089.) Except this time ShadowFox has actually MADE a version of Deal of no Deal in Tabletop Simulator – and with Nibal cackling away in the background things are about to go south in a big hurry.
