The New York Times has described Gerald Murnane as ‘‘the greatest living English-language writer most people have never heard of.’’ A long-time favourite for the Nobel Prize in Literature, the New Yorker describes him as the ‘‘reclusive giant of Australian letters.’’ He’s a fascinating, eccentric person, a man who notes with pride that he has never flown in an airplane or gone swimming or ever worn sunglasses over the course of his entire life. He lives in a dusty town of just two hundred people in Western Victoria and regards the ocean as an ‘‘enemy.’’ He writes of ‘‘dreams within dreams’’ and ‘‘the invisible landscape and geography of the soul’’ and he taught himself Hungarian because he felt a shared affinity with the plains of Hungary. He maintains: ‘‘There is another world but it is in this one.”
Needless to say, he is a singularly brilliant and unique individual and writer. I was honoured to interview Gerald while travelling through country Victoria in 2021. We talked about dreams, angels, God and everything in between and Gerald told me he thought we were similar people which made me smile. I only hope to be able to write a fraction of a percentage as well as him one day.
As Ukraine approaches the one year anniversary of Russia's brutal invasion, I speak to Ukrainian Ambassador Vasyl Myroshnychenko about the latest news from the frontlines. We discuss Russia's genocidal war aims, Putin's poisonous fascist ideology, and the absolute necessity of liberating every square inch of occupied Ukrainian soil.
I really enjoyed this conversation. Speaking to Vasyl gives you a sense of the unbreakable resolve of the Ukrainian people in the face of Russia's murderous terror campaign and their immense courage should inspire all of us to strengthen our resolve against dictatorship. Ukrainians are fighting and dying for freedom right now and we owe them our total support.
Plus, Ambassador Myroshnychenko shares his thoughts on the elderly, pot bellied Night Wolves bikie gang and Australian-Russian propagandist Simeon Boikov AKA 'Aussie Cossack.' Simeon's currently holed up in the Russian Consulate in Sydney in a cowardly effort to evade assault charges and I propose Australia donate a Bushmaster to Ukraine for every donut consumed by Simeon while hiding in the Russian Consulate.

A former columnist for Hong Kong's Apple Daily newspaper before it was closed down due to CCP pressure, Kevin has faced years of harrassment at the hands of Chinese authorities, to the point Chinese state media propagandists followed and stalked him for weeks in Hong Kong.
We discuss his new work on Hong Kong independence, the increasingly poisonous ideological current of Han racial supremacism in Xi Jinping's China and the overwhelming necessity of breaking up and decolonising the Chinese empire so as to allow Hong Kongers, Tibetans, Uyghurs, Mongolians, Taiwanese and Han to pursue peaceful self-determination.
