💥Calming the Circle Therapy with Amy Primrose - Untangling the things parents don’t talk about💥
Emma is joined by Amy from Calming The Circle Therapy.
In this episode Emma and Amy chat about challenges parents come across, different attachment Styles in Relationships, trigger feels and glimmers of hope.
Three key problems Mums experience:
Amy works closely with individuals, couples, and families to nurture and heal relationships—both with oneself and with loved ones. She draws from systems theory, attachment theory, and neuroscience, recognising that our relationships are deeply influenced by the environments where we first learned about ourselves.
Life’s experiences shape our neural pathways, impacting how we see ourselves, regulate emotions, and connect with others.
Amy’s approach involves identifying these systems and any attachment wounds, understanding their effects on our self-perception and nervous system, and guiding clients through holistic interventions that foster healing, realign brain connections, and bring about a calmer, more balanced nervous system, greater sense of identity and self, and this in turn fosters an environment where positive communication and connection can evolve within relationships.
Amy’s why, began when she was in her mid 30's, engaging in the same conversations over and over—questions like:
Amy experienced these recurring questions fuelled my passion to help others navigate these challenges, finding clarity and peace in their lives.
As Amy delved deeper into her studies, she became fascinated by the neuroscience behind why we are the way we are. Understanding this provided a clear explanation of why therapy works. She is passionate about therapy that is grounded in understanding the brain, mind, body connection, and the science supports it every step of the way.

If you have met Lissy, you will know how passionate she is about female health (and THE PELVIC FLOOR).
She truly believes that our pelvic health is such an important part of our female health journey. When women travel through different stages from living through periods, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, menopause... on a clinical level our pelvic floor support our bladder, bowel and sexual health. On a whole-person level, really, our pelvic health is responsible for how we interact with the rest of the world, what activities/sports we take part in, our intimacy/relationships and our overall confidence. They see such a variety of females every day at the clinic, and it shows us just how truly resilient and brave females are. On a clinical level, the research and resources we have available in female health today is improving and we are fortunate to have such great evidence-based tools and proactive/preventative measures we can take to support females pelvic health across their life.

In this episode Emma chats with Cassie Daniel lifestyle Coach who helps busy mums live their best life and find the balance when returning to work.
Emma and Cassie chat about:
Four and a half years ago Cassie became a mum…and when she returned to work she realised that as a working mum, her mindset about herself, her ability and expectations were so different than before.
She questioned her ability, doubted her skills and knowledge, and held unrealistic and hurtful expectations of herself at home (and at work in some ways too). She was burning out and it was affecting her work, her relationships and her parenting.
She had a job that she loved, help from family and an awesome husband who supported her, but she couldn’t stop thinking that she wasn’t good enough; as a mum, at work, and at keeping home.
She realised she wasn’t alone, as most of the mums she spoke to at work and in her personal life were experiencing the same feelings and were racked constantly with guilt that they weren’t good enough or doing enough.
Cassie wanted to help other mums out their return to work and find the balance and happiness as a working mum.

In this episode Emma chats to parenting expert and owner of Hurstfield Consulting.
Laura runs an online business supporting parents through various parenting programs.
Laura has over 20 years experience as a Social Worker, Parenting Practitioner and Compliance Officer for Children’s services and NDIS organisations.
Emma invited Laura onto the podcast to talk about tips on parenting to help other mums out there.
Laura talks bout why there is no such thing as a perfect parent. If you can be calm and consistent, provide affection and descriptive praise 30% of the day then that is a win.
Laura prefers not to work with parents who state they want to be perfect parents, it's impossible.
Laura prefers to see parents get small wins along the way to bigger changes in the family home, build mums up to be confident, relaxed and enjoy parenting a bit more and maybe that enables them to have more time for themselves, which means a great role model for our little people.

Welcome back to Mum Life Untangled, Emma is joined by Louise Hurley, Louise in owner of Strong Mums in Gosford, NSW and has recently launched her Body Reliance Mum Project online course. Lou loves helping mums to not only feel confident in meeting the physical demands of motherhood, but the mental demands too. Lou says that society has made us believe that we should hide the tell-tale signs of motherhood. Stretch marks, wrinkles, loose skin, changes in body size or shape are all seen as something to be ashamed of and therefore fixed. Creams, lotions, shakes, laser treatments, injectables, diets, supplements, pills... there's a treatment for it all (and a fortune to be made from your insecurities)!
