We've been gossiping A LOT lately and you know what, we're proclaiming gossiping to be cool again. Long gone are the days where we feel ashamed about gossip and we're here for the rebrand. This week's episode we discuss the evolution of the blind item and how it brought gossiping to pop culture. Suddenly, gossiping is cool again. We also reflect on gossiping in on our lives, when we feel it's okay and when we know we overstepped (it happens!).

We then get into our pit and peaks of season 2 and how we've been faring on our words of 2024 -- spoiler alert, not well!

We recently listened to former Bachelor lead, Clayton Echard's episode on the Viall Files and were absolutely SHOOK by the events that have recently unfolded in his life. TLDR he was accused of being the father of two unborn twins. We decided to look into this further and share some of the highlights we found; courtesy of the many internet sleuths out there!
Up first, we discuss some other truly bizarre cases of fake pregnancies; some stories are fictional but some are real. The amount of fake pregnancy scams out there are truly alarming but hey, that's more clown news for us!

Today we walk through the evolutions of WAGs and specifically how the media gains and loses interest in them through time. But lucky for us, we are back in WAG era! Even though it's been a tad too much Taylor and Travis at games, it has been fun to get more behind the scenes from influencer WAGs and we discuss how this time, the WAG media cycle is a bit different. We also recap the wild lawsuit between two British WAGs -- which trust me, you want to hear.

We've noticed in the past few years that what was once excused behavior or normal behavior is now being called out by the internet as grooming and honestly, we're here for it. In this episode, we discuss the disturbing film "May December" and examples of groomed relationships we've seen in the past and present. It's a tough topic but one we felt rightly deserved a spot on Clown Vibes!
Have you noticed that many of your favorite influencers are Mormon? Why is that? Today we deep dive into the history of how the influencing became ruled by the Mormons. From Mommy Blogs, to Aesthetic Instagram Influencers, to BYU Tiktok, Mormons, especially the women, have been at the forefront and we spend this episode discussing how they did it and why we find their content so fascinating. We play a fun would you rather game at the end in honor of BYU Tiktok!
It seems like every few months we see a new report out that Nick Cannon is the father of another kid! It's become somewhat of a joke in pop culture and has caused a lot of drama in the recent seasons of Selling Sunset. However, did you know that this isn't an isolated situation to Nick Cannon and is actually more common than you think? In this episode, we explore situations in society and pop culture in which specifically men are shown to be obsessed with the idea of fathering as many kids as possible. From a man in the Netherlands who is banned from donating sperm to the interesting family life of Elon Musk, we discuss it all!
This week we discuss all things re: the wedding industry. Has anyone else realized that it has gotten so out of hand in terms of costs and expectations over the past years? From multi-themed bachelorette parties to multiple day wedding extravaganzas, since when was it the expectation to do an outfit change for the bride and groom? In this episode you'll hear us explore the impacts of sensationalizing weddings on social media with examples from clean girl aesthetic queen Sofia Richie to the out of nowhere decadent Paris wedding of Madelaine Brockway. Neither of us have yet to plan a wedding but we discuss the financial and social pressure of attending these events in our 20s and how we feel about planning a wedding in the future, yikes!

This year more than most we saw a lot of backlash on the list and how it is meaningless so in this episode we explore the history of the Forbes 30 under 30 list, its nomination and selection process. For our last episode of the season we rehash our 20s as both Yuchen and Amee head into their last year before the big 30! We talk through the different life phases we've had and how we're feeling about our word of the years. Then, we reflect on 2023 Clown Vibes; our favorite episodes, what we've learned, and how we plan to restructure in 2024.

Have you ever suddenly developed an ick for an influencer who you were once a ride or die fan of? Or, stumbled upon an influencer who seems so out of touch with your own reality that it makes you question what kind of a world we currently live in? It seems like more and more of our average Joes are starting to realize that the increasing number of new influencers has caused somewhat of an invisible divide between society. There is a natural paradox between individuals who once rose to fame because they were relatable and authentic and where they are now: monetizing off of their fans and living a life that is far from the typical 9-5. She was the perfect person to discuss the nitty gritty of PR relationship and break down various "rumored" PR couples. We discuss different motives around set up relationships and some of the tell tale signs that a couple could be for publicity (ahem, calling Backgrid).

In this episode we explore the pros and cons of having an ego and how it has evolved due to certain situations in society. We've noticed a trend in which people tend to have really big egos in situations such as academia, rejection in dating, and of course airports. We're here to clown about situations we've seen on the internet and of course expose our own egos, muahaha. Is there a place where your ego really comes out?

Puppies are SOOO cute and fun BUT there are some dark sides to getting a dog and we're here to expose our truth! This week, we take the clowns through our experiences getting pandemic puppies, the struggles we faced, and some of our coping mechanisms. We don't often see the hard side of having dogs so we're here helping the people out and explain why we call ourselves failed dog moms!

This week’s episode is all about the current writers and actors strikes. As TV and movie lovers (addicts?), we are personally distraught and obviously think that the people who make Amee’s favorite hobby come true, should be paid fairly. We take you through the timeline of the current strikes and what the unions are asking for at a high level, the clown moments thus far, and give you some fun facts about past strikes to make sure we all have the backstory. Writing these descriptions really takes it out of us, so we know that writing good shows and movies deserves $$$!

I'm a Barbie Girl.. in a Barbie World -- has the AQUA song been on repeat for anyone else?? In this episode, we talk all things Barbie. We go down memory lane discussing some of our favorite Barbies from when we were kids, we give you guys the history of Barbie (which is a ride), and talk about all of the press around the new Barbie movie, directed by Greta Gerwig. Greta told Margot Robbie, who play's the main Barbie in the new movie, to get ready for the role by listening to a podcast about a woman who doesn't introspect and we have a lot of thoughts around this. Fish is a content creator we found through their videos reading The Hunger Games for the first time (wild) and thought that there was no better expert! Fish walked us through the inception of their account and how reading The Hunger Games on video came to be and then we discuss various aspects of the games and book. In this episode, we discuss the first family of reality TV , their rise through the years, and tackle the question - are the Kardashians losing relevancy? From the dating PR stunts (Kylie and Timmy lmfao), the product brands, and their ever changing family dynamic, we discuss our favorite Kardashian memories and our thoughts on it all. HBO recently released a documentary called "Bama Rush" intended to shed light into the cut throat and competitive nature of the sorority recruitment aka "rush" experience at the University of Alabama and we were all for it!! Until...30 minutes in and we realized the documentary fell flat in delivery and was partially a documentary on the director's experience with alopecia. Confused? We were too. Nevertheless, we found it our absolute duty to give you a deep dive into the documentary, the prospective new members (PNMs), and all the heartbreaking things we picked up on: the girls' innate desire to just "fit" in, the clownish rules of rush and being in a sorority, body issues, and racial struggles - jam packed in one episode! But first up, Yuchen is reporting on some VERY clownish news coming out of Uber this week. Thank you for your support!
Is therapy speak making us selfish? Bustle recently released an article illustrating how the rise of therapy speak is now being used by the broader public in situations such as setting boundaries and ending relationships. With the rise of terms such as "toxic," "narcissism," and "self-love," what was once an open dialogue between two individuals is now being turned into one-sided hurtful remarks that often leaves the other party perplexed. We talk through some of the stories in the episode and which ones we (sadly) related to and then discuss how we see therapy speak play out on TikTok. To start off, Amee asks Yuchen a fun question about vampires and we discuss a new Netflix Series, Jewish Matchmaking, and compare it to the latest season of Indian Matchmaking - ice cream haters, see yourself out!

We have decided to relive the joy and cringe (?) of some of our favorite young adult novels that we read in our childhood by starting a series called Throwback Book Club! We're kicking it off with a banger by rereading Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar and boy was it a difficult read. As part of the discussion we reflect on the impact that it had on our teenage years (Y was 7 when she first read it!), compare and contrast some key moments of the book versus the tv series, and discuss the overall writing and our favorite parts. It's not a book club without a scored review but we won't spoil that part for you. Will we ever find out who gossip girl really is?! Will A finally get off of hunger games TikTok??

Is Love Blind? Today's epsiode is about the biggest clowns we've spoken about to date - the cast of Love is Blind season 4. This is the show that keeps on giving, in clown aspects, and season 4 was a full on circus, with more love triangles and marriages than ever. We talk through the couples that the show followed, our thoughts on the "craziest" moments of the show from the pods to the reunion, and give a clown award for each part of the season. Did your college bamboozle you into a career field? In this episode we get into our experience or trauma of going to business school, studying accounting, and how much our college lied to us (LMAO). Recently, the WSJ came out with the article "Why So Many Accountants Are Quitting" and we break down our thoughts on why we believe this is happening, based on our own experiences being in the accounting world. Dating cultures are so different across subgroups of people and in this week's episode, we discuss some of the different dating cultures we've been a part of (so far!). From things we thought were normal growing up in the South (ring by spring?!), to how our Asian cultures effect dating norms we have ingrained in us, we give our thoughts on it all. Then we discuss the horrendous modern dating world and all of the new terms - situationships, soft launching, TikTok dating advice and more.
