In this episode I am going over one of my favorite meditations. R.A.I.N. I first learned this meditation from a teacher Tara Brach, The RAIN technique is a simple, yet highly, effective way of tuning into our inner world and creating a pause between the stimulus of the outside world and our reaction. This pause is the true purpose of meditation.RAIN is an acronym that was created 25 years ago by Vipassana teacher Michele McDonald, for a practice specifically geared to ease emotional confusion and suffering. When a negative or agitated feeling arises, we pause, remember the four steps cued by the acronym, and begin to pay attention to what is happening for us. https://dcp.psc.gov/OSG/hso/documents/RAIN--Meditation-Handout.pdf

It’s shocking when you think about it how much of our mood or thoughts are controlled by other people. We basically become a puppet. We store it, and we replay it, but when we do this we give away our power to the people or situations that hurt us. In this episode we talk about different scenarios where we tend to give away our power, and how to be observant on who has power over your mind. I am happy you are here.
We all start developing it shortly after birth, the capacity to hold judgement against certain people or scenarios to keep us alive, or the negativity bias, but as we have grown it grows stronger, somtimes limiting actual possible friendships or impacting relationships because of our own negativity bias gets in the way. In this episode we talk about ways to navigate that, ways to become more aware of our thoughts and what we subconciosly think of others and how that thinking shapes our society as a whole.
