A Digital Pathfinder: Recent Episodes

Shaun Taylor

I'm a retired Tier 1 SOF Warrant Officer and a retired International High-Performance race coach.

Over the last four decades, I've met a lot of smart/wise people through a number of careers. Fitness, health, positive mindset, adventuring, leveling-up, training science, things that work and things that probably won't, discipline, focus, mentorship, leadership, and more.

I hadn't planned to ever start a podcast, but some people have asked me to. Hope you enjoy what might become a valuable resource.

This episode is from a live chat on my IG account @shauntaylors1 a few days ago. Kate @shootlikeagirl is a super cool person, who does rad stuff in her day job, and crushes it in her personal time.

When I first started looking at Canadian podcasters within the military/veteran space, Kate was the first one I saw with a female-only guest focus. A much-needed platform in my opinion, and as you'll hear me say, it was Kate that inspired me to try and engage with more female guests.

Some of the things we talk about in this chat: the challenges of podcasting, accountability, the pressure of representing, the ebb and flow of life, resilience, outcomes, stress inoculation, working through fear, we are all capable of excellence, moving out of mediocrity, etc.

Kate and I both agree, we need to chat some more. So expect to hear more from her in future IG live's.

From a Dec 21 live chat over on my Instagram page: @shauntaylors1

In this chat, Urij from Ukraine @urijbondar chose the discussion topic of Special Forces entry and training. As always, he brings up subjects that require thought.

We barely scratched the surface. Maybe we will chat about it some more in the future. While listening to this podcast you will hear references to Special Operations Assaulter, Special Operations Sniper, and Advanced Warfare qualifications such as Pathfinder and Army Sniper, some books are shown and some things are referred to in the podcast that will make more sense if they can be seen.

Julie Kelly - world class ultra-endurance racer, coach, and badass.

An Instagram live chat from my @shauntaylors1 account; we discussed several topics around challenges, coaching, lessons learned, the process, etc.

This conversation was more of an introduction to who Julie is, and what kind of things we can talk about in the future. We barely scratched the surface on subjects that we both have deep knowledge of.

I fully endorse Julie as a world class coach, because she observed my process for a decade, and now she uses a similar process. You can find Julie at @minigoat411 if you are interested in coaching.  How much faith do I have in her abilities? I gave her the reins to my coaching legacy, knowing that she would not only execute to my standard, but that she would continue to grow and improve it.  I'm a fan of Julie, so you will hear more from her in the future.
