As a Theatre junkie, I have completed 30 shows (in varying capacities, some acting and some on the production team), in the last 8 years and I am grateful for all the amazing people who have created an amazing "Play of my Life" as a supporting cast member. I teach others how to see the world and help them understand the value others have in their lives, yes, even the bad guys, in their play of life.
These are some tips and skills that are listed on how to audition well and to understand that auditioning isn't about getting a role, but the experience needed to make you a better actor.
Our job as actors whether you are just getting started or are working on Broadway in New York is to understand that your job is simply to audition. So, we need to learn how to have fun while doing it.
These will help you get into roles, and it will also help you appreciate the process of auditioning.

Carrie discusses the feeling of rejection of not getting into a show and how she felt. She still supports people and goes to the show, then we talk through the options available to us to feel better about not being in the show. We work through the possibility to feel good about the experience and not just the result of getting into the show.
"Every action you take is a vote for the person you want to become." - James Clear
So the actions we take vote positively or negatively toward our ultimate dreams. I know I struggle to vote positively but, with this idea in mind, I know I will make more efforts to vote toward my goals and dreams.
Expectations that are set too high always bring us pain or stress. So if we set reachable expectations based on our actions only we can create progress and feelings of success without worry of others needing to give us that role or the recognition of our efforts.
How do you deal with rejection? Let us know in the comments.

Mahatma Gandhi one of the very best leaders of peace and love said, "Honest Disagreement is a Good Sign of Progress." This is something we can learn and use in our lives to make a difference in those we talk with and disagree with as well.
We all deal with so many people and working together in this world we will always have something to disagree with, but if we use this time to realize what we can learn from each other, everyone, even those we disagree with will become our supporting cast members in the play of our lives.
The First Step to help with this is to agree fast to whatever is coming your way. Agree with the person quickly, this will take them off guard and allow you to have a discussion without heated emotions. Then you can learn what you need to learn to better each other.

Carrie talks about going to a very funny show at the Hopebox and how sometimes we need to feel those good emotions and how those emotions can be made to relate to us in our lives. She was laughing hard and it is great for people who are in the audience to express their emotions as well as to help tell the story through the emotions they are trying to portray.
What do we do in our theatrical world to help people feel emotions in life? As well as how this could affect us in our lives. But mostly how we can feel the emotions better on stage to express them in better ways for others to feel them too.
What emotions do you like to feel in the theatrical performances you have seen and how good are you at letting them know you are feeling them? And if you are on stage, what emotions do you find hard to share with an audience, or what are some tips and tricks you have learned to help you better express them?

What does it mean to serve others? How is that helpful in our lives? Research shows that we will increase our life expectancy by 44% more if we are able to serve others.
How does that work in your life? In mine, I am serving the Hopebox a great organization helping us to serve someone in the community. And although it is nice to help them financially it is the experience that they all come back saying was the very best part of their experience.

I love gathering information from many sites and gurus. This week I have a topic about three energy blocks from Mindmovies.com. I am sharing this information to help with understanding the blocks we have on energy according to this group and using it for theatre to help you act better in life and theatre.
This is the quiz I mention in the podcast for you to try. Just thought you might like it. https://www.mindmovies.com/mentaltrap/index.php?26020&data1=blg_180
We tend to give people around us the ability to affect our energy and in this podcast, I hope to help with the ability to change that and fix the three most common blocks of energy. Love, Success, and Challenges.
Please let me know how I am doing on these podcasts I want to improve and hope to help much more people in my life. I appreciate you listening and supporting me in this way and only ask for your help in reaching out more. Thank you again for your support. Even if all you do is share this with one other person I am grateful.

Trusting in theatre is essential for a great production, but sometimes it is hard to trust. Trust is for you not for the people you are trusting. The best relationships come from trust not necessarily from always being happy but from creating a world of trust.
In this podcast, you will find out why it is important to trust and why we need it in our lives to have the best advantages in our lives.
Please share with people who tend to struggle with trust so they understand it is a great option for you.

As you act you will become. I take you through a dictation class we went through and the amazing change to being more genuine in acting as we did physical changes to our characters when we were trying the Southern accents for our show. We would see it helped us to connect better and it also draws in the audience and makes them feel like they are part of the show on stage and not just an observer of actors, creating something.
It was a great insight into our world as well because of the creation of new ways to think about acting in life too. Tony Robbins who is a personal mentor of mine also talks about the fact that you will stay in the state you're in unless you physically change and become something else entirely. That is how he impacts millions every year and helps them to emotionally shift and not just intellectually. You will stay in a better way when you emotionally shift which takes physical change.
Tony has a challenge to help you get through the winter we are all in right now and it is free so go to YouTube and watch his challenge and do what he is saying on it to make a change in your life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLQdhtsFkHU
I hope this helps you and hope you are emotionally changing in your life too. I'm humbled you are here and hope you are emotionally getting better in your life too with everything you are doing. May you be blessed with additional changes and improvements emotionally.

What is Rejection and how does it affect us? Will the Theatre world help us to handle rejection better?
Elinor Blankenship is a professional Clown, Drama teacher, and top speaker in the area of northern Utah. She has had lots of experience on the production side of youth shows and has done several shows as an actor.
The discussion of rejection is important because it helps us to grow and get better at everything we do in the world. Being able to handle rejection is going to be key to helping us get through the challenges we face.
What does rejection mean in the theatre world? It is a constant with auditioning and trying new shows, new characters, and new adventures into the production side of the world as well. Even as a production team you need to know how to handle rejection, because you give it out to a lot of people, even friends sometimes. How would you handle it?
Elinor and I explore our experiences with it in our world and hopefully what we explain that we have dealt with will help you in your world of rejection to be able to see it as growth and learning more than pain and doubt in yourself.
Thank you for listening.

Books that I have read lately talk about just getting information out no matter how messy. We discuss how this makes life easier as we look into the mistakes and make them large to see them better as well as how to overcome them.
Also, there is a technique in Japan that when ceramic pots and bowls break they put them back together with gold. It makes them look better and more valuable for being broken. We want to make mistakes and make them great so we can make our lives better.
Mistakes in our businesses and life can make us better as we see them for what they are just looking to make them better. Thank you for listening, please let me know if there is a topic you would like for me to cover. I would love to talk about anything you have.
If you need any help talking about being broken I also have a 30-minute consultation I would love to have with you. If you connect with me directly I could do it for free. Sign up on my site here https://www.rememberyourrole.com/book-online?category=c0b2f67f-5941-4593-b8d8-84ff99101ae5.

Here is another great interview with Carrie Young talking about how Theatrical Performances are just like joining a family and what it means for other parts of your life. In this interview, we talk about several different parts of our lives that become our family, including theatre show families as well as families you create through networking in your life.
Even this podcast is now becoming a theatrical family because we are all using the same metaphor to help us think better in our lives and what we do.
Carrie and Paul go through the different parts of our lives including the times we should choose to not be a part of a family. Not just for you and your sanity or self-esteem but also to help the people who seem to "need" you right now. You'll find that sometimes saying no is also helping those you say no to even if they don't know it.
Enjoy and please let us know if there is another topic or if you have more insight into this topic we would like to know that too. Check our @Rememberrole on Facebook to give us more topics as well.
Thank you for listening and helping us to grow this family what is important to us is to be helpful to make life a little easier. We are humbled to have you as part of our family.

I am currently struggling with many things and wanted to talk about them and how I am personally dealing with them, in hopes of you learning that our expectations of life that aren't met bring us pain. However, there is a great way to deal with them with a process I was taught in improv to overcome trials and move on.
Using the principle of "Yes, And" from improv you can get through trials in life by focusing on what you can do at this moment. I am not saying this works for everyone, and especially if you are dealing with a very hard trial in life, I would suggest you get with someone to help you through these trials. However, we will make a big difference in other people's lives when we can focus on the reality of life as it stands right now. Let the frustration work through your system and focus on what you can do to improve the situation now.
I hope this will help you in life as I know it has helped me. And I look forward to connecting with some of you in the future to know how this did help you. I am working through the problems I mention on this podcast and I am making the best of them because I am focusing on what I can do now.
May this be of great benefit to you as well, and again please share this with your friends so you can learn, it may help them learn and have a better life as well is my prayer to all.

Carrie Young is an amazing entrepreneur who also loves the theatre, however, has several times stopped herself from auditioning because of various reasons. In this interview, we have just successfully completed a show that I directed with her and we talk about the things I learned from the experience as well as some moments of learning she had in the process as well. Please leave a comment on this podcast to let me know your thoughts about our interview. If I should have one regularly on this channel with her and what you think we should talk about.
