It's me again! I know I haven't posted in this community for a while now but today, I feel ecstatic to share this recent adventure with you and how I ended up doing this on a weekend.

As previously mentioned in one of my posts, I did solo backpacking for eight (8) straight days in Davao Region. It's part of Mindanao, one of the three main island groups in the Philippines. I know for those who aren't from the Philippines 8 days might sound too short for backpacking but if you're a Filipino with a 9-5 job on weekdays, 8-day travel is a long period of time to be away.

I did longer backpacking before Covid but I have other plans for the rest of the year with friends and loved ones; I had to be as intentional and as picky as possible in choosing which destinations should I go to and what activities I had to do on each destination. I will share the other details in a separate post but the top of mind when exploring Mindanao, especially Davao Oriental is Mati City known for Dahican Beach, dumbed as one of the longest shorelines in this part of the country with its 7-km stretch of white powdery shoreline. But aside from Dahican Beach, there's one more thing in Mati City that every adrenaline seeker shouldn't miss!

It's riding an ultralight aircraft (open type) through Mindanao Saga Flying Club. A 15-minute ride will cost you Php 3,500 ($64) for open-type aircraft and Php 3,800 ($69) for closed-type aircraft.

It was a Friday and my 4th day of backpacking. I messaged Mindanao Saga Flying Club's Facebook page and I was told I should be in their office by four (4) in the afternoon. Arrived there earlier than the call time but unfortunately, I wasn't able to ride that day; the wind was too strong and the ultralight aircraft couldn't sustain such strong winds. They told me the best time to fly is during sunrise. With all honesty, I am not a morning person. If there's one thing in the world that I despise that's waking up early but I know it's worth the sacrifice. I woke up as early as 4 AM and waited for my contact to pick me up from my hostel.

I was the first person to arrive in their office. The aircraft was ready to take me around Dahican. I could tell you how wonderful the experience was but I'd rather show you why it's been wonderful. I hope you enjoy this video of my ride!

I haven't been this alive! I could ride more if I have more money haha

Hello mermaids! How's your January going so far? Hope we are still sticking with our

New Year's Resolution!

I'm happy to share my best dive with all of you! I may not be that obvious

but when I started I never believed in that I can go as deep as 15 meters without oxygen.

After sticking to at least 1 dive per month last year, I finally broke free from

all my worries that I might not make it deeper. But guess I can do all things

as long as I put my whole heart and mind into it.

I hope you enjoy this video!

See you next dive...

It’s been a while, Hive! How are you all doing?

I’ve been resting for a couple of days. Well, not really resting with nothing to do. I just had to take a break from social media since work has been way too demanding in the past weeks (and it is still demanding now). But finally found time to share more of my freediving experience in the Freediving Community.

Here’s the thing, they say that if you’re in love with something, even after months or years of not being able to do it, you’d still find that unique and electrifying connection once you do it again. And that’s what I felt when I was given a chance to freedive again.

Let’s review a little the timeline of my freediving journey. In 2017, I finally learned that I can float in the ocean (as long as I will not think that there's meters after meters of deep waters below me). In September of 2019, after years of contemplating whether to enrol in a Freediving Intro Class, I was able to convince my friends to get a class from one of Cebu’s finest Freediving instructors. But life happened, one friend had to focus in finishing his Medical degree, one got busy with work and life in general and me, well I didn’t have my Freediving friends, so I let the idea of freediving die down in one corner. And yes, I’ll just be honest, life happened too. I had to focus on finishing my graduate degree in Supply Chain, then Covid and all those lockdowns happened all together.

Then last April 2021, after 18 months of hiatus, I finally returned to one of my favorite kingdoms – the underwater world. Although I’m still not actively Freediving all weekends of my life now, I allot at least a weekend per month to get my dose of saltwater. In this video, we were doing a drift dive for more or less 3 hours. I never imagined I could survive such after 18 months of no dive. Well, the mermaid in me was awaken in no time. When you watch this video, you’ll know why. It was just fun to drift dive with strangers.

By the way, this was taken in Moalboal, Cebu. She’s just pretty beyond words, right?

Hello Mermaids!👋

Another week's about to end! I always look forward to the weekend simply because it's my time to shine underwater. But about four years ago, I used to rely in life jackets. I made sure that I have a life jacket wrapped

around my body during any open sea activity (e.g.. island hopping, traversering one Province to another). Although I've always been the brave lady that I am now, staring at the underwater creatures from the ocean's surface was my weakness. I trembled whenever I couldn't seem to figure where the ocean floor is or if there's even one. That's why I never learned to swim back then. I'll share with you how I learned and conquered my fears some other time.

The thing is that I never imagined I'll be able to do what I do now. But similar with any other skills, I started with the basics. In freediving, you should start with the basic and one should learn it from experts, not from friends (who just happened to learn it from someone else also). But if your friend is a Certified Freediving Instruction, might as well grab the free introductory class. In my last video, I shared what happens during a line training. After our line training, Marion John, a National Record Holder, taught us how to do basic duck dive which propelled us underwater.

I can remember how my heart fluttered when I learned how to duck dive. At the moment tho, I'm no longer using this technique. But yes, it's always a good time to look back where I started.

Have fun watching the noob Patsitivity as she had fun in her first ever freedive.

See you in my next dive!

Hello Hive!👋

It has been a relaxing weekend for me. I'm currently in Bogo in the Northern part of Cebu. The weather had abruptly changed yesterday, from sunny to gloomy. We're still in bed with friends; it's bed weather and there's nothing wonderful to do that stay in bed. 😂 Sundays like this are just the best.

Today, I'll be sharing my first ever freediving training. I'll be telling you what happens during an Introductory Freedive Class in a separate post. In this video, I'll just show you what happens during a line training. This is one of the essential trainings one undergoes to complete the Introductory Class.

Also, today marks the commencement of Freedive with Patsitivity. I'd like to share another journey from being rescued by a boatman (more details soon) to freediving at the best freediving spots in Cebu. It wasn't an easy one just like the rest of the things I've been trying to do but it has been promising and rewarding to see the underwater creatures in their natural habitat.

If you've been meaning to try freediving but still afraid of what might happen during the actual line training, I hope this video gives you an idea that it ain't that scary. You can even see in this video how careful and guided my friends and I during the training. The things we are scared of will continue to be scary and unappealing if we continue being scared of them. So instead of wondering if you can do it, why not try, right? 😊

Join me in this journey and perhaps join me in my next freediving as well? I'll be happy to help you with conquering your fears.

Let's enjoy the rest of the day! Blissful Sunday everyone! ❤️

Hello Hive!

It's midweek and I've been extremely exhausted at work lately. The Christmas season is fast approaching and it's my busiest time of the year.

To battle the exhaustion, I thought it's but right to take a break. What better way there is to relax than edit this travel video which I've been putting aside for the last three (3) years. Yes, you read it right. I was on an official business trip to Tacloban last November 2018 and I asked my boss if I can schedule the trip on a weekend so I can have at least a day to explore the place. Lo and behold, he granted my simple request. I went surfing for a day with my friend, Maerose, and her younger brother.

It's actually my second attempt to upload this video. The first one I mistakenly posted in the Freediving community. I hope Kim and Claire forgive me for messing with their community's feed.

So having seen the delete button in 3Speak, I immediately deleted the video not knowing it will still reflect here in Peak.d. It's my first time uploading a video in 3Speak and I managed to create an account and connect my Hive Account by watching the Tutorial until tonight when I messed things up. hahaha!

Nonetheless, I had so much fun editing this video. I even danced while rendering it. I'm just amazed how editing an old travel video can give such happiness. And now I just wanted to fly to Tacloban and catch the morning waves tomorrow. But nah, not gonna happen this year. I'm looking forward to surfing again in Dulag and in Calicoan in Eastern Samar as well.

I hope you'll have fun watching this video. 😊
