Every interaction shapes your brand—whether you're intentional about it or not.

This season of The Flourish Careers Podcast is part celebration and part reset. We're revisiting your top 12 most-loved episodes! Coming in at #8 on our Top 12 Listener Favorites is my conversation with career coach Yolanda Owens—an episode that keeps finding new listeners because the discomfort around money talk hasn't gone away. It's just evolved. ✨ Salary transparency is still one of the most emotionally charged topics in the workplace.
Yolanda and I dig into why talking about money at work feels so taboo, how to approach salary conversations with confidence and curiosity (rather than comparison or conflict), and what real transparency looks like—for employees and employers.

Welcome back to the Top 12 Listener Favorites Countdown! #9 is one of the most personal episodes in the entire catalog. This is the very first episode of The Flourish Careers Podcast, and it's rooted in my own story. The moments in my career where, on paper, everything looked right… But internally, something felt off. Here's what I know after walking my own winding path—from operations, to HR, to building Flourish Careers: you don't need the whole path. You just need your next step. 🌿

This is something I wish I thought about earlier in my career: our careers move in seasons, just like nature. 🌿
Not every season is meant for constant growth, visibility, or pushing harder (despite what society tells us). Some seasons ask us to reflect or rest, release, or begin again.
In the Season 11 finale of The Flourish Careers Podcast, I’m reflecting on why feelings like uncertainty or restlessness are often signals that a season is changing—not signs that you’ve failed.
Join me to discuss:
→ what each career season can feel like
→ how to recognize the season you’re in
→ and why the moments that make you question everything are the ones guiding you somewhere new 💛
I’ll be back in a few weeks for Season 12 with something a little different for summer… and I can’t wait to share it with you 🌟

There are certain books that arrive at exactly the right moment in your life.
For me, Die Empty by Todd Henry was one of those books. Years ago, when I was rethinking work, purpose, and how I wanted to spend my energy, it became part of a much bigger shift in my career story.
Needless to say, having Todd on the podcast felt incredibly meaningful, and in this conversation, I get to share that story with him.
We talk about creativity, resilience, and navigating uncertainty, including the night in 2007 when he almost walked away from it all, his reframing of what passion really means, and the through-line he's discovered running through his entire body of work.
I have a feeling Todd's perspective will stay with you long after this one ends.

Last week, Jenny mentioned co-creating with the universe, and when she said it, I jotted it down. Because when I look back at the creation of the In Season planner, that's exactly what it was.
In this episode, we're talking about the signs, synchronicities, and divine winks that showed up again and again throughout the process...from angel numbers to bees, bears, and a Little Women moment that brought me to tears. There were so many that I couldn't ignore them, and they made me believe the In Season planner was never meant to be created alone.
If you've ever wondered whether the universe is nudging you forward, this one's for you ✨

Some things can't be explained… but maybe they don't need to be? ✨ Jenny Blake lost 80% of her revenue in two weeks, and it led straight to her latest book and body of work, Free Time. Sarah Young noticed that her biggest opportunities arrive almost every time she steps away and sits in the sunshine. And then there's this: Jenny found the In Season planners splayed out on a New York City sidewalk…half a block from her building, pen and card still tucked inside, as if the package had simply escaped and waited for her. I cannot explain it… and that's exactly what this episode is about ✨ We get into the signs and synchronicities that show up when you're paying attention, the vulnerability of creating something from the heart, and what happens when you finally give your ideas room to grow. These are two of my favorite humans, and this conversation was pure joy 🤩 💛 Connect with Sarah:

I believe LinkedIn is more important than your resume in today’s world of work. Yet many talented professionals are underusing it.
Meanwhile, it can work for you in the background—building visibility, opening doors, and helping opportunities find you, often before a job is even posted.
Today, we’re kicking off an all-new three-part series with Michelle Schafer, career & leadership coach extraordinaire, about LinkedIn and how to use it in ways that feel aligned and effective.
Part 1 is about the limiting beliefs holding you back. Things like: “My boss will think I’m job hunting”, “I have nothing valuable to say”, “What if nobody engages?”
Over the next few weeks, we will also cover how to make the most of your profile and what actually works for connecting with professionals on LinkedIn.
We had so much fun recording this, and I genuinely think it’s going to shift something for a lot of you.
If LinkedIn has ever felt awkward, unclear, or not quite like you, this is a great place to start 🌟

What if growth isn’t about adding more, but about letting something go?
In this episode, Nell Derick Debevoise Dewey shares what happens when a heart-based, aligned career (literally) drifts out of its lane, and why “getting back to normal” isn’t always the goal.
We dig into gold-star chasing, inherited “shoulds,” and small experiments in self-knowledge that help you notice what’s draining your energy. And we talk about the ripple effects of intentional subtraction, how letting go can change the way you show up at work, in leadership, and at home.
This conversation is a permission slip to stop adding by default and start asking a more compassionate question: What can I release so I can live and lead more intentionally? 💛

Are you running toward something, or away from something?
When work starts to feel off, I see many people go straight into action mode: update their resumes, scroll job boards, and apply quickly. Doing something feels safer than pausing—but clarity doesn’t come from rushing. It comes from slowing down and noticing.
In this episode, I’m joined by expert career transition coach Michelle Schafer, and we talk about what career clarity really looks like before you make a move.
Michelle shares five questions that help you understand how you want your days to feel, what’s non-negotiable in this season, and what will actually sustain you over time.
If you’re at a crossroads (or sensing it might be time for a shift), this conversation will help.

We spend almost 90,000 hours of our lives working. Why wouldn’t we want those hours to feel meaningful? Spacious? Even joyful?! If your definition of success is shifting, you’re not losing ambition; you’re refining it.
That’s the conversation we’re having in The Reinvention Roadmap Part 2 — what success looks like when it’s built from the inside out. 🤍
Once you start questioning corporate life (or step away from it entirely), the definition of success you inherited often stops working. Titles, metrics, and external validation no longer tell the story. When success is defined from the inside out, it stops demanding more and starts supporting you... and that shift can change everything.

What if the discomfort you’re feeling in your career isn’t a problem to fix…but a signal to listen? There comes a moment (sometimes quietly, sometimes all at once) when the career you built no longer fits who you’re becoming. And nothing is technically “wrong”… but something feels off. That season? I call it the quiet in-between.
In this three-part series, Jen Pestikas from Brave Women at Work and I are exploring the emotional, intuitive, and practical sides of career transformation, especially for heart-based professionals who feel called toward something more aligned.
Welcome to Season 11 and The Career Reinvention (three-part) Series: Signs, Shifts & Steps to Your Next Season. Today, we will start with the signs and the messy middle.

What if the quickest path to career clarity is hidden in your inbox? 💌
In this episode, I’m joined by Briana Ottoboni, founder of Fractal Studio and host of The Trades Show, to explore the quiet comeback of the trades, the rise of modern craftsmanship, and what artisans can teach us about creating with intention. We also dig into the “inbox test,” a simple way to notice what genuinely pulls your attention and sparks a more grounded, creative direction in your career.
Briana’s nonlinear path through sustainable fashion, tech, and consulting shows why careers work best as experiments, not linear ladders.

What happens when you lose touch with who you really are, and how do you find your way back?
This week, I’m joined by Corbin Chase, an intuitive counselor and holistic health practitioner who helps others reconnect with themselves—emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Corbin shares her journey from corporate tech to intuitive healing and the ah-ha moment that changed everything: standing in a jewelry shop, unable to choose a single piece because she no longer knew who she was. That realization became the spark that led her back to authenticity.
Together, we explore how intuition speaks through feeling, the dance between head + heart, why authenticity can look messy, and how light and dark energies shape our everyday lives.
Corbin’s story is a gentle reminder that when you reconnect with your authentic self, life begins to rise in support.

From networking and job interviews to even those tricky salary negotiations, you’ll discover how the right mindset can completely change the outcome.

How often do we tell ourselves, “I’ll take the leap when the timing feels right”—only to keep waiting?
In this conversation, Dr. Kasi Lacey discusses why that mindset keeps us stuck. She shares stories from breaking barriers in a toxic, male-dominated workplace to creating her own practice, inspired by her daughters. We talk about trading hustle for wholeness, turning comparison into curiosity, and treating confidence not as a trait you’re born with but as a skill you strengthen through small, steady steps.
Kasi’s perspective is a reminder that confidence doesn’t come from waiting—it comes from taking one tiny step, even when the path feels uncertain.

You know that quiet nudge that doesn’t go away, no matter how practical you try to be? That’s your heart speaking. 💫
In this week’s episode, I’m joined by Jacqueline Boone, Founder of The Dream Academy, who shares her perspective on what she calls Heart Language—the idea that following your heart isn’t about learning something new, but remembering what’s always been there.
Jackie opens up about her leap of faith, leaving everything familiar to teach in rural China with no plan, no language skills, and a relationship back home. On paper, it made no sense, but her heart kept whispering yes.
We explore how the heart speaks differently than the head, why alignment matters more than ever, and 3 practical exercises you can use today to tune in, trust yourself, and follow the pull toward what’s next.

Sometimes a career shake-up isn’t the end, it’s the invitation to rebuild confidence and reimagine what success really means ✨
In this episode, I sit down with Stephanie Joong to talk about what it actually looks like to rebuild confidence after a season of doubt. She shares how grad school, breathwork, and new leadership roles helped her piece things back together—and why confidence isn’t a one-and-done achievement, but something we keep practicing through small, everyday choices.
One of the most refreshing parts of our conversation is Stephanie’s idea of the aliveness scale—a way to measure success by how energized you feel, rather than by titles or achievements. We also explore how confidence can grow stronger after setbacks, and what simple shifts you can make this week to feel more grounded and alive in your own career.

Have you ever felt like your budget was working against you instead of for you? 🙋♀️ This week I sat down with financial educator and keynote speaker Linda Grizely to talk about her MeMoney™ framework.
This approach turns budgeting and money conversations into something that actually feels good.
We talked about the stories we all carry about money (mine? “champagne taste and a beer wallet” — thanks, mom 😂), how those beliefs shape our sense of self-worth, and what it looks like to design finances that truly reflect your values.

Here’s a secret: The most effective job search strategy doesn’t live on your LinkedIn profile—it lives in your mindset.
How you think about your search shapes how you show up for it. Your inner dialogue, your self-belief, even how you handle the silence between opportunities, all matter.
This week, I had the pleasure of talking with fellow career coach Michelle Schafer, who shares practical ways to reset your mindset during the search.

What happens when the host becomes the guest? In this final episode of our Brave Women at Work: Lessons in Letting Go series, we’re flipping the script. My dear friends (and co-authors) Jackie Cetera and Amy Quesenberry take the mic and interview me about my chapter in the book, “Blood, Sweat, and Careers.”
I won’t lie—I was nervous (still am). Sharing this story out loud is vulnerable. But like so many women in this book—and life—I’ve learned that letting go of old identities, relationships, expectations, and the weight of other people’s actions has been the hardest and most freeing work of my life.
We talk about:
This entire season of The Flourish Careers Podcast serves as a reminder that letting go is not loss—it’s liberation. And sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is write your own story.

In her chapter, Chasing Contentment, from Brave Women at Work: Lessons in Letting Go, Marilyn reveals the moment she chose to leave the cycle behind and embrace a more fulfilling path forward. She discovered that real success isn’t found in titles or milestones—it’s in presence, peace, and purpose.
Today, as CEO of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, Marilyn is living her values—restoring millions of acres of conservation habitat while showing her team that balance and boundaries matter just as much as results. What if the biggest thing standing between you and the life you really want… is a story you’ve been holding onto for too long? A story that says, “You need to have it all figured out.” “Certainty is safer than possibility.” “You’re not ready.”
This week on The Flourish Careers Podcast, I’m talking with Dominique Luster—archivist, storyteller, and founder of The Luster Company, where she’s devoted to preserving and uplifting Black narratives.
As an archivist, Dominique’s work is all about collecting and preserving stories. In her chapter, “The Lies We Hold,” from Brave Women at Work: Lessons in Letting Go, she realized there were also stories she was holding about herself that were quietly keeping her stuck.
When faced with personal loss and the uncertainty of a changing world, Dominique reached a crossroads. The life she was living no longer fit the person she was becoming. And like any good archivist, she got curious. Her inspiration was Charity, her fifth great-grandmother, a woman who, against all odds, built a life, a business, and a lasting legacy.
This is a story about letting go of certainty. A story about creating a legacy. About choosing curiosity over perfection and trusting that with the right mindset, strategy, and a seed of faith… You can (and will) figure it out.

Imagine how different our work environments could be if every leader approached challenges with compassion.
Imagine how much more fulfilling our careers would feel if kindness led the way.
Now, imagine what’s possible when we let go of the self-sabotaging behaviors that keep us stuck—isolating, self-medicating, or holding onto past pain—and step into a life where we show up with intention and purpose.
In this episode, I talk with Amy Quesenberry, founder of Start With Compassion, as she shares her story of releasing past trauma and embracing a life guided by compassion. And let me just say—Amy is the real deal. I had the joy of spending a few days with her in real life, and she radiates compassion. It’s not just something she talks about—it’s how she moves through the world. She listens with her whole heart, greets everyone with joyful, grounded energy, and somehow always knows how to lighten the moment with a perfectly timed laugh.
Amy's story is a reminder that there’s another life waiting for us—we just have to be brave enough to find it. Tune in for an inspiring conversation about letting go and choosing compassion as a way of life.

Let’s talk about something real… Fear. Doubt. Uncertainty.
They have a sneaky way of showing up anytime we’re considering a change, especially when it’s tied to our careers or sense of purpose.
Dr. Shawnté Elbert knows that feeling. When life threw her a curveball, she realized she had a choice: let fear run the show or practice something different.

With honesty, humor, and heart, Shawnté shares how she navigated big life pivots, embraced uncertainty, and discovered the value of rewriting her story. What happens when you listen and act on your intuition? A beautiful partnership and a bold collaboration begin. Today, we’re kicking off a very special season—one dedicated to celebrating the women behind the book Brave Women at Work: Lessons in Letting Go. To launch the series, I’m joined by the dynamic duo who brought this project to life: Jen Pestikas and Hope Mueller.
Together, they describe their collaboration as naïve joy—a blend of trust, inspiration, and the belief that something magical happens when women come together to share their stories.
In this heartfelt conversation, we explore the spark behind the Brave Women at Work book series, why letting go became the theme of this latest collection, the courage it takes to release old identities, roles, or expectations, and an extra-special behind-the-scenes peek at the magic that unfolded along the way.
Whether you’re navigating a career pivot or simply feeling the call to release something, you’ll feel supported here. Stay tuned—this season is packed with stories that are honest and wildly inspiring.

Tired of outdated career rules? Same! It’s time to flip the script.
In today’s conversation, I’m joined by Jamie Jacobs—former corporate exec turned Founder and CEO of Gig Talent. Jamie is on a mission to reimagine how work gets done—with more freedom and intention. At its core, it’s about doing great work with great people.
Jamie has built an impressive career as an HR leader, and her real superpower is driving transformational change. She challenges outdated systems and helps values-driven professionals and companies flourish in the new world of work.
✨ Fun fact: Jamie and I go way back—over 15 years! From early career days to now collaborating through Gig Talent, I’ve watched her lead with courage and heart. She’s a bold thinker and a champion of what’s possible when we dare to do work differently.
We dive into the rise of the gig economy and why taking ownership of your path is more important than ever. If you’re craving more autonomy + alignment in your career, this conversation is your guide. Because your career should work for you—not the other way around.

✨ Have you ever found yourself instinctively reaching for a specific color, without even thinking about it? Maybe it’s a bold red blazer on a day you need extra courage… or a soft blue sweater when your spirit craves calm.
Color is so much more than just style—it’s energy, emotion, and intuition speaking to us. 🎨
I had the best conversation with intuitive artist Heather Eck about how color can support us through life transitions—and even help clarify our career paths. From yellow symbolizing growth to blue encouraging communication, the colors we’re drawn to reflect where we are… or where we’re headed.
Especially during seasons of change, color becomes this beautiful, quiet guide—reminding us to trust ourselves and stay curious.

What if your second act could be even more meaningful than your first? Vasu Tolia is an extraordinary woman whose heart-led career path took her from medicine to art.
She is a retired pediatrician who followed a quiet nudge that turned into a bold second act. After decades of caring for others through medicine, she channels that same compassion and creativity into her artwork. Her vibrant, socially conscious pieces are designed to inspire and heal—to bring beauty, reflection, and emotional comfort into the world.
What I love most about our conversation is how honest and encouraging Vasu is about what it means to start over. We talked about fear, perfectionism, and the courage it takes to trust your inner voice. She reminded me (and hopefully you!) that creativity can be a powerful tool for healing—emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Vasu shared how her work now lives in hospitals and educational spaces, offering peace in stressful places. We also explored how her medical background gave her transferable skills—empathy, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving—that show up in her art daily. If you're ready for a more creative path or simply curious about the connection of creativity + well-being, this episode is for you.
Vasu's story is a beautiful reminder that the most fulfilling paths are the ones led by the heart.

If you’ve felt stuck or disconnected, this is your invitation to play, explore, and let creativity lead the way.

That was me last year. I dove into a completely new venture, full of enthusiasm, but every time I set a day to begin, life had other plans. Emails, meetings, and smaller tasks conspired against me, pushing my new project to the back burner.

Imagine standing at a career crossroads, your head pulling you in one direction and your heart urging you toward another.

Do you often dread the start of another week, knowing that your job is draining your energy? If so, you're not alone. The good news is that we can change this.
Let's shift our mindset—focus on possibilities, not limitations. Set energizing, HEART-based goals that resonate with your values. Instead of running away from what drains us, let's run toward what excites us.
Don't underestimate the power of shaking up your routine. While stability is comforting, it doesn't always lead to growth. Introducing new habits and rituals can create space for exploration and innovation, leading to a more fulfilling path.
Lastly, let's talk about momentum. In physics, an object in motion gains momentum. Investing just five minutes a day in ourselves can ignite that momentum in our careers. 🌟

Get ready to challenge everything you thought you knew about "success" and discover why it's time to shift our focus from external markers to finding alignment from within. 🌟
Welcome to another segment of Flourishing Together. I'm excited to introduce you to JJ DiGeronimo, who shares this perspective and challenges the societal norms that often lead us to believe that material wealth or external validation are the ultimate markers of success. What if we measured success by the energy we create versus conventional metrics such as salary, job titles, or the types of customers we interact with?
JJ shares her path to alignment by starting a side gig while working full-time and the pivotal moments when she decided to follow her inner intuition or "whisper."
We explore intriguing techniques like muscle testing and connecting with nature to seek guidance and tackle societal expectations about the illusion of external success, which often feels like chasing an oasis. JJ acknowledges that finances can be a significant hurdle when contemplating change, and she emphasizes the importance of getting "rich" from the energy she's creating versus a salary, job title, or types of customers you interact with.
Join us as we dive into the illusion of success and how to feel in alignment with our life and career paths from the inside out.

Raise your hand if you value flexible work arrangements?! 🙋
The remote work landscape is reshaping how we think about our careers and work environments. At its peak, remote work encompassed 50% of U.S. work hours, and this trend has echoed globally. Despite a recent pivot towards hybrid and in-person models, the appetite for remote work's flexibility remains constant. It's something I discuss regularly within my community.
Remote work isn't just a location change—it's a shift in work culture, offering inclusivity, global talent access, cost-effectiveness, and heightened productivity.
However, this shift challenges us to rethink traditional work metrics, focusing more on output than hours logged. As we chart these waters, aligning our work arrangements with our core values and aspirations is crucial, whether in an office, working remotely, or a blend of both.
Tune in as we continue to explore these exciting changes in the world of work!

Real Talk! Today, we're talking about three BIG career myths that need debunking.
First, we've all heard that career gaps can be the kiss of death when job hunting, right? Well, it's time to toss that myth out! Nowadays, employers see the value in taking a break; it's all about how you present it.
Who said success means sticking to the 8 to 5, five days a week? Time to shake things up! With the rise of project-based work, we can work smarter, not harder, allowing for more flexibility + fulfillment. So, let's prioritize meaningful achievements over the traditional grind 🌟
Lastly, having multiple roles in this diverse gig economy is both possible and super rewarding. No longer do we have to have ONE set path. There’s a certain freedom that comes from knowing you no longer have to follow a linear career path or work an arbitrary number of hours to achieve your goals.
Today, the only limits on your career are the ones you impose on yourself. You’re finally free to focus on pursuing opportunities through a more HEART-based approach.

Have you ever taken the time to define your meaning of success?
One of my all-time favorite topics is defining success on our own terms. Society's definition of success can be limiting and exhausting, but by focusing on our core + lifestyle values and redefining "enough," we can break free and pave our own path.
By consciously defining success on our own terms, we can choose and pursue projects that bring genuine satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment. Let's break free from outdated expectations and focus on what truly matters. It's time to prioritize our well-being and our time. Success should not come at the expense of our well-being, and it's crucial to consider how we want to spend our time and prioritize our fulfillment. Because you deserve a long, radiantly happy + healthy career 🌟
Speaking of which, part of defining success for me is time away from the routine, which is what I’m planning for a few weeks this summer.
As someone who believes in practicing what I preach, I’m so excited to fully immerse myself in the joys of summer and follow my favorite motto, “nourish to flourish.” Let’s support one another in embracing our unique paths and celebrating success in the moments that truly matter.

Imagine you're exploring the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland, and who do you come across? The mischievous Cheshire Cat! He drops this famous line: "If you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there." It's like he's speaking directly to our career dilemmas! Without clear goals, we might end up tumbling down wild rabbit holes and landing who knows where.
HEART-Based goal setting is about making intentional decisions aligned with your core values and aspirations. It involves defining your vision, clarifying desired outcomes, and writing down your goals for accountability. By setting HEART-Based goals, you can create a career path that resonates with who you are and brings purpose and fulfillment. It's about finding the right 'road' rather than going down 'rabbit holes' of misaligned opportunities.
In today's episode, we'll dive into HEART-Based career goal setting. Using my three-part framework, you'll discover the science behind goal setting and how to craft your heart-based plans. I'll also provide an example to tie it all together.

Hello, and welcome back! Here we are today with part two in this three-part series about the most frequently asked questions I receive from job seekers.
Today's topic might surprise you; it's all about strategic follow-up throughout your job search. Have you heard the phrase, "the fortune is in the follow-up?" It's the truth! And unfortunately, most people only think about follow-up in the job search process once they need to, and it turns into this reactive activity, OR they don't follow up and potentially lose out on opportunities.
Today I'm going to talk through WHY follow-up is critical. Then, I will discuss FIVE scenarios to consider incorporating follow-up into your job search, along with what to write in our follow-up emails and wrap up with general guidelines as to when and how often to follow up.

I’m here today to kick off a three-part series on the most frequently asked questions I receive about job searching. Special note, this series is specifically for those who know what they want to do next and are initiating a job search.
The first FAQ I want to talk about is modernizing your cover letter. Especially since last week, we went through a crash course on refreshing your resume; I thought it would be appropriate to follow that with an episode about cover letters. This is a topic I receive a TON of questions about.
From my perspective, if you’re super interested in a company or role, why wouldn’t you spend some time writing a note to the hiring manager to introduce yourself and share why you’re interested in the job? So, with that perspective in mind, today, I’m going to walk through: the goal of your cover letter, some ideas to modernize your approach to sending a cover letter, and thoughts on what to include in a cover letter, and then we will wrap up with a handful of quick tips.

I get it. Talking about yourself is HARD!
Articulating your experience and career aspirations on one piece of paper is both an art and a science. It can be challenging when you’re in your own head all.the.time.
It’s especially tricky with a career change.
Throughout my 15+ years as an HR leader, I can tell you first-hand that these stats are accurate; Recruiters and hiring leaders will skim your resume for 6-ish seconds — if it doesn’t make an impression, you will get passed over.
UNLESS, of course, you’ve done a great job at building relationships at your target companies (which I highly recommend) - then your resume will likely become an afterthought.
But none the less, at some point, you will need your resume,
So, today, I’m going to walk you through:

Let me ask you this: Have you thought about changing your career but felt overwhelmed by the enormity of the task? If so, you’re not alone.
We all have a variety of intentions and ambitions, but finding the motivation to get started is challenging when the result seems like an impossible feat. But sometimes, the way forward isn’t made in leaps and bounds. Instead, it’s made one tiny, consistent action at a time.
That’s where the power of microsteps comes in.
Microsteps are small, actionable steps that take only a few minutes or seconds to complete. Microstepping is not just the practice I use with my clients; it’s one I use myself. I’ve used it for every career change or project (including designing my own business and this podcast)—and it always works.
In this episode, we will talk through the science behind tiny action. I’ll walk you through the THREE-step process you begin today and then wrap up with recommendations for further study.
