He lived in Ennore located in North Chennai. He attended the MGR Higher Secondary School in Kodambakkam and Little Angels Mat. Hr. Sec. School. According to Sethupathi, he was a "below-average student right from school" and was neither interested in sports nor extra-curricular activities. At age 16, he auditioned for a role in Nammavar (1994) but was rejected due to his short height.
Sethupathi did a series of odd jobs for pocket money: salesman at a retail store, a cashier at a fast-food joint, and a phone booth operator. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Dhanraj Baid Jain College (an affiliate of the University of Madras) in Thoraipakam. A week after he finished college, he joined as an account assistant at a wholesale cement business. He had to take care of three siblings and moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates as an accountant because it paid him four times more than what he was making in India. While in Dubai, he met his future wife, Jessie, online. The two dated, eventually marrying in 2003.
Unhappy with his job, he returned to India in 2003. After a brief stint in the interior decoration business with friends, he joined a marketing company that dealt with readymade kitchens when he saw Koothupattarai’s poster. His best-known and most critically acclaimed work is Vishnupuram, a fantasy set as a quest through various schools of Indian philosophy and mythology. In 2014, he started his most ambitious work Venmurasu, a modern narration of the epic Mahabharata.
His other well-known novels include Rubber, Pin Thodarum Nizhalin Kural, Kanyakumari, Kaadu, Pani Manidhan, Eazhaam Ulagam and Kotravai. The early major influences in his life have been the humanitarian thinkers Leo Tolstoy and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Drawing on the strength of his life experiences and extensive travel around India, Jeyamohan is able to re-examine and interpret the essence of India's rich literary and classical traditions.
Born into a Malayali Nair family in the Kanyakumari district that straddles Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Jeyamohan is equally adept in Tamil and Malayalam. However, the bulk of his work has been in Tamil. Jeyamohan's output includes nine novels, ten volumes of short-stories/plays, thirteen literary criticisms, five biographies of writers, six introductions to Indian and Western literature, three volumes on Hindu and Christian philosophy and numerous other translations and collections. Drawing on the strength of his life experiences and extensive travel around India, Jeyamohan is able to re-examine and interpret the essence of India's rich literary and classical traditions.
Born into a Malayali Nair family in the Kanyakumari district that straddles Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Jeyamohan is equally adept in Tamil and Malayalam. However, the bulk of his work has been in Tamil. Jeyamohan's output includes nine novels, ten volumes of short-stories/plays, thirteen literary criticisms, five biographies of writers, six introductions to Indian and Western literature, three volumes on Hindu and Christian philosophy and numerous other translations and collections. He has also written scripts for Malayalam and Tamil movies.

Later in 1989, the Vanniyar community along with some other communities was granted 20 per cent reservation under the Most backward class. The Pattali Makkal Katchi, founded by S. Ramadoss on 16 July 1989, emerged from these protests.

She was the National Secretary and Tamil Nadu State Unit President of the BJP prior to this appointment. She was born in Kaliyakkavilai, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu on 2 June 1961. Her father Kumari Ananthan, is a former Member of Parliament and senior Congress party leader in Tamil Nadu. Her husband, Mr. Soundarajan, is a medical doctor. Her paternal cousin is actor and businessman turned politician Vijay Vasanth.
She did from graduation at Ethiraj College for Women, followed by pursuing her MBBS at Madras Medical College, Chennai, and her obstetrics and gynecology qualifications at Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. She did higher training in sonology and FET therapy in Canada.
Prior to political commitment, she worked as an assistant professor at Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai for 5 years. She has two children, a boy, and a girl, and both are doctors.
As recognition of her dedicated service to the society and general public and promoting gender equality and women empowerment, she was awarded “ International Rising Star of the Year – 2018” by the multi-ethnic advisory task force, USA operating under US Congressman Danny K. Davis.
