Welcome back to another episode with your host Stasia. I know many of you don't like the new year new me vibe, because how long does it last? Not long. I get it. But your year is still worth reflecting on. So, this episode I will reflect with you and ask you questions to help you reflect on your year and what you want next year to look like. The events that are happening because of a group of peoples choices shows that we don't always get a say, but there are things in your life you can chip away.

Todays episode is not really area specific. I just wanted to do a podcast that helps you know the sexual abuse you went through was not your fault.

This weeks episode is about child sexual abuse. It is a general conversation about child sexual abuse. Nothing area focused. It is not my best episode. I should have put my notes together better. It was a learning curve. I will do more episodes over the coming weeks on child sexual abuse. But I hope you can take something from it nevertheless.

Welcome back to another episode! It has been a while. I know. I am hoping life on my side calms down a little to podcast more. Today's episode is about things to think about when leaving a abusive relationship. If you want to share your experience or ask about leaving you can email me at buildyou22@gmail.com

There is lots of support that is provided in different areas. I thought I would share some support you could try out.

Women's aid. They can create a safety plan, set up a case for you so different workers can reach out i.e. IDVA. They can pass you on to different services that you may need i.e. refuges or hostels. They provide courses and counselling services which will help you process what has happened, learn and meet new people.
Home - Women's Aid (womensaid.org.uk)
University or college. If you email your tutor they will contact the dv / safeguarding specialist who will help. They also have counselling and support workers.
Support through court and university's have student lawyers to help fill out forms or direct you to people who could help.
Contact your local council to see what support is in the area.
Salford, Manchester. Salford University provide dv counselling for people living in Salford.
Princes Trust provide support in setting up a business.
Local library will have different leaflets on business support, days out for the children or yourself.
Meetup provide different activities to get involved with.
Citizens advice
Early help intervention is designed to help parents in the early stages before it goes to court.
Child maintenance - The non residential parent pays a certain amount per month to the residential parent.
Location tracker - If you have an apple product you can go to the apple store for help. Put your phone on airplane mode in the mean time
Home start - A volunteer comes out once a week to help and just be a base for support. They may come for a cup of tea or you may get out to the park with the kids.
National refuge helpline 08082000247
In a emergency call 999

Orders:
Non molestation order - You will need to fill out a FI401, and potentially a c8 form and D89 form if you need a court bailiff to deliver the NMO.
Occupational order
C8 Form - You file this form to the court so they do not share addresses with the other person.
Child arrangement order - The court decides where your child lives, when your child spends time with each parent and when and what other types of contact take place. This means CAFCASS could work with you during the court process.
Prohibited steps order - An order that prohibits a party from a certain activity relating to the child(ren) or removing them from a certain area or country. This prevents the parent from exercising their parental responsibility.

Items I believe to be important if you will be fleeing and will not get a chance to go back. But remember it differs on each situation and the timescale you have in leaving. Sometimes it may just be yourself.

Items
Passport
Birth certificates
Medical notes / children red books / epi pens / inhalers / medication
Certificates and any other paper documents. I found having all the paper documents together before leaving helpful. It looked like my university book bag. Could you use a library bag?
Phone, laptop, earphones, iPad, power bank charger, chargers.
Driving licence (Is it safe to take the car? Do you need to remove a tracker?)
Sentimental photos
Bank cards and bank statements if you need proof of details.
Water bill or electric bill in your name as proof of staying at that property.
Cash / piggy bank.
Jewellery which could be for spare cash.

Recognising what happened to you as a child growing up sucks and can feel lonely, but you are not alone. It may have happened to you alone but grieving and processing doesn't have to be a lonely journey.

Welcome back to another episode with building you where I teach you the different ways in which toxic parenting impacts a person. Now, I was meant to upload 12 different toxic parenting behaviours before this episode as they are linked together, but my episode saved and when I returned to edit it, it was gone. Yes, that is a cry inside kind of moment, but I wanted to stick to my word of two episodes a week. So, I hope you get aha moments and moments to reflect on, but you will have this episode to return to again if you feel you want to listen again after next weeks episode drops, which I now have to go away and find time to record again. It would be okay if I had broadband but I will make it work so you don't miss out.

I would love to know your learnings by emailing me at buildingyou22@gmail.com or commenting below.

Don't forget to like, share and subscribe!!

P.S. I am sorry for the coughing throughout. I deleted it but then it is still in the recording so I don't know why. But I was able to get rid of most of my coughing fits due to lack of water haha.

People or theories I mentioned:
Winncott -  the good enough mother
Dr Sam Vaknin
Attachment theory

Today's episode is just a overall catch up with me, and some tips if you are finding yourself stuck in that feeling of the new year new me has not started yet and you have broken most of your promises to yourself. For example, not eating sugar ever again or going to the gym or not surrounding yourself with toxicity.

I am sorry I dip in and out during this episode. I had to go up and downstairs numerous times for the boys that I have moved the mic. But join me for episode four anyhow, where I teach you the red flags that show up in the beginning stages in yourself that stop you from walking away from a unhealthy relationship earlier. If this triggers you in anyway, please do reach out at buildingyou22@gmail.com or if you simply want to share your learnings.

Join me for the first ever episode on body image.  I know people started putting up their Christmas tree over the weekend so I thought would kick the week off with seven ways body insecurities show up during the Christmas holidays, and how to take a different approach this Christmas.

The holidays can bring up a lot of body image struggles, because we have to see certain family members who just don't ever have a good thing to say about our body or it is the internal battle we have leading up to events or during the events. So, I am here to shine some light. You are not alone.

Remember to like, subscribe and comment if you enjoy the podcast or have any questions. Alternatively, you can email me at buildingyou22@gmail.com if you have any private questions or would like to reach out for 1-2-1 body empowerment and confidence coaching sessions.

I have to say I am pretty impressed with this episode. I sound much clearer, because I am getting better with positioning myself and the equipment. So, this podcast is a win for me.

Join me for an episode of learning about the red flags a perpetrator/abuser shows during the relationship. I share my own experience and provide general examples, because what you will learn on your journey with me is that a perpetrator/abuser is textbook. They have the same sayings and behaviours to get the same outcome which is to get their needs met. Even though it will hurt people along the way.

This episode could trigger experiences of your own or what you watched growing up, so do not feel alone in this learning. You can reach out in the comments or send me an email of your learnings at buildingyou22@gmail.com

Remember to like, subscribe and share.

As this is my second episode, the volume does dip and I do go quiet at times, because I think I have moved from the mic too much. But hopefully you will stay with me on this journey as I get better at teaching on here.

Join me for my first ever episode where I tell you why I started this podcast and a little bit about me. I am so excited to finally be able to podcast. Yet the first bundle of episodes will be amateur me learning the ropes to podcasting. I have spent a month learning how to podcast and as you can hear today, I still have a lot of learning to do. So, I hope you join me on my journey of podcasting whilst I join your journey to building a better and healthier relationship with yourself.
