That Dose of Encouragement: Recent Episodes

Minnina Smith

I have had some great days and I have had days that have been beyond challenging. No one is exempt from the hardships of life that may come. It is during those difficult seasons where I believe we gain a greater development in our character, strength and dependability on the Lord Jesus Christ. As a believer our faith is always being tested but I assure you it is a good thing, read Romans 8:28! The word of God also says in James 1:3-4 (AMP), "Be assured that the testing of your faith (through experience) produces endurance (leading to spiritual maturity and inner peace. And let endurance have it's perfect result and do a thorough work so that you may be perfect and completely developed (in your faith) lacking nothing." I invite you to tune into this empowering, faith building, inspirational and encouraging podcast always providing that dose of encouragement!

To my From Grief to Purpose family,

As I close this chapter, I just wanted to take a moment to simply say thank you. Thank you for every listen, every kind message, every prayer, every share, every comment, and every moment you chose to journey alongside me through this space. What started as something deeply personal became a place of healing, reflection, faith, growth, and purpose for so many people — myself included.

While this may be the final episode of this channel, I don’t look at it with sadness. I look at it with gratitude. I truly believe every season serves its purpose, and I’m thankful for everything this platform allowed me to experience and become. I’m excited for the new adventures ahead and wherever God chooses to lead me next.

Thank you again for supporting me, encouraging me, and allowing me to share part of my journey with you. I pray you continue healing, growing, trusting God, and boldly going after everything He has placed inside of you.

With love always,
Nina 💙

Are you being stretched in this season, friend?

Yeah…
so am I.

But maybe the stretching isn’t punishment. Maybe God is requiring more of us because He’s preparing us for more. This is officially gonna be part of my new Faith-Filled Mondays conversations where we press into purpose, healing, obedience, identity, surrender, and all that God is requiring of us in this season.

We’re about to get INTO it.

So if you’re in a season of transition, growth, stretching, or rediscovering yourself in God…join me on Mondays.

This month on the From Grief to Purpose podcast, we’re diving into “The Inner Work” — the deep, soul-level healing that begins long before anyone else can see it. 🌱

In this powerful and eye-opening episode, I’m joined by Stacey Womack, Founder and Executive Director of Abuse Recovery Ministry & Services (ARMS) and author of On the Frontlines of Abuse: Strategies for the Faith Community. Since 1997, Stacey has been a leading voice in raising awareness about domestic abuse from a faith-based perspective, creating transformative programs now offered in six countries and six languages.

Born not from personal experience but from a divine calling, Stacey created the Her Journey recovery program for women and the ManKind and Virtue intervention programs for those who have used abusive behaviors. Her decades of work have positioned her as one of the most respected experts on domestic violence in both faith-based and secular spaces.

Together, we’re pulling back the curtain on the kind of abuse that doesn’t always leave bruises — verbal, psychological, and emotional abuse. Stacey shares how these often-overlooked forms of harm can slowly destroy someone from the inside out, why they’re so difficult to recognize, and how the Church can play a critical role in helping survivors heal and rebuild their lives.

We’ll also address the dangerous misconception that couples counseling can “fix” abuse, why that approach often does more harm than good, and what real support and restoration truly look like.

If you’ve ever felt like something is “off” in your relationship, if you’re a faith leader seeking to better support survivors, or if you simply want to understand the hidden wounds so many carry, this is a conversation you don’t want to miss.

💫 As we wrap up this month and this powerful series on “The Inner Work,” the podcast will be taking a seasonal break after October. I hope you’ve found healing, encouragement, and clarity in every episode we’ve shared — and I can’t wait to return with more purpose-filled conversations in the next season.

In this empowering episode of From Grief to Purpose, I’m joined by Fanny Tristan, LCSW-R — a Licensed Trauma Therapist and Coach for Single Women of Color, and the founder of Her Soul Supply, a coaching platform that helps women stop centering romance in their happiness and build lives rooted in purpose, self-trust, and meaningful connection.

With over 15 years of experience in mental health, Fanny offers a grounded, liberating perspective on singlehood—especially for women navigating the constant pressures of where they “should” be in life. Her work challenges the outdated belief that wholeness comes only from partnership and instead reframes singlehood as a powerful and valid life season—rich with opportunity, clarity, and growth.

Together, we explore how to rewrite your relationship narrative, embrace wholeness, and live fully in your season of singleness. Whether you’re healing from heartbreak, redefining what love looks like, or simply seeking to deepen your relationship with yourself, this episode will inspire you to stand in your worth and walk confidently in purpose.

In this powerful conversation, I sit down with Pastor Jay Cookingham—author, men’s ministry leader, and founder of Strategic Fathering Ministries. Jay opens up about the loss of his wife of 37 years and the healing journey that followed. Together, we unpack grief, identity, and emotional healing from a man’s perspective.
