Hello everyone!😊 I hope we're all doing great. I must say, I feel blessed to be a member of this wonderful community. It has truly been an amazing experience, having to connect with so many talented artists here.
I'm also really glad to be graced with the opportunity to partake in this week's edition.
In line with the, wonderful theme "Opportunity" which has been selected for us by our spotlight artist @sekani, I'd be performing a cover of the song, "Clouds" by Zach Sobiech.
I happen to have chosen this special song after listening to it just recently. The story behind it is truly sad but the lyrics hold an inspiring message which brings about a strong connection to the theme.
Zach Sobiech who is behind this beautiful song was diagnosed with bone cancer Osteosarcoma and doctors told him that the cancer had spread and that he had only a few months to live.
He then recorded this song about his battle with cancer in response to doctors' predictions.
In this song, he inspires others to grab the opportunity and make the most of life just like he did while chasing his music dreams, He used this song as a means of saying goodbye to his family and friends and in the lyrics, he says; "If only I had a little bit more time with you.", Here he was referring to his girlfriend, he sang about the wonderful things they would have done together if he had the opportunity to live. It really touches me and each time I listen to this song, I feel bad that such an awful thing had to happen to him.
This song really inspires me to be thankful for the great opportunity God has given, The Opportunity of Life!
Now, I really wish I could play a guitar so my cover sounds much nicer but I truly hope you enjoy!❤️

This would be my first time performing a song in this community and I'm really excited about it. It's really nice to know that a community that appreciates and promotes afro music exists here on hive.

Hello everyone! This is Hive Open Mic week 132 and I'm really excited to be participating. We've been provided with an interesting theme once again for this week which is "Woman Life Freedom" and in line with it, I'll be performing a cover of the song "Scars To Your Beautiful" by a very talented and inspiring artist, Alessia Cara. "Scars To Your Beautiful" is a song that remindes women that beauty isn't only one look, shape, size, or color but beauty comes in all forms.
It's indeed sad that in the world we find ourselves today, women are forced to live up to a culturally propped stereotype. They have become conditioned to believing in unrealistic standards of beauty and even their acceptance in society is determined by their adherence to it. But what women should be reminded of is that such standards are only just social constructs that are enforced in day to day interactions and are perpetuated by social media.
In this song, Alessia Cara encourages women to break free from society's stereotypes and parameters of beaty and practice self love and acceptance no matter what.

This would be my fist time presenting a song in this community and also singing here on hive. I'm really excited but also nervous.
For this week theme which is "Patriotic Pride", I would be presenting a cover of the song "Greenland" by Ty Bello.
Now, I chose this song to go with this week's beautiful theme because it's a song that gives us the motivation we need in my country Nigeria today.
The chorus tells us that the land is green. Maybe that's not really the case in the country today, due to the pollution, insecurity and corruption on the side of the government. However, this beautiful faith based song tells us that our country is a land of abundance and we should be hopeful and patriotic.
There is little to celebrate in Nigeria today because of it's desolate state but the song "Greenland" gives us a nice reminder that all will be well.

Ahora elegí esta canción para acompañar el hermoso tema de esta semana porque es una canción que nos da la motivación que necesitamos en mi país Nigeria hoy.
El coro nos dice que la tierra es verde. Tal vez ese no sea realmente el caso en el país hoy, debido a la contaminación, la inseguridad y la corrupción del lado del gobierno. Pero esta hermosa canción basada en la fe nos dice que nuestro país es una tierra de abundancia y debemos tener esperanza y patriotismo.
Hay poco que celebrar en Nigeria hoy debido a su estado desolado, pero la canción "Groenlandia" nos da un buen recordatorio de que todo estará bien.
