Having people you look up to and respect let you down can be hard to deal with. In this episode, Stacy shares alot about how she experienced hurt from the church in how they responded to covid while she and her family, as well as many others, were in the trenches fighting for the ones they loved battling covid.

Through this experience, she learned that two of the most important things you can do is Love God and Love People. And not just love people, but love them so fiercely they experience the love of God through you.

But most importantly, if you've experienced hurt from the church, if you want to find joy in the midst of your journey, you have to come to a place of letting that anger go and trusting God with your pain. He can put you back together again.

When traumatic things happen in our lives, we sometimes don't even realize the trauma they leave within us. Later on, things can happen that bring up those emotions and fears that the trauma caused.  We go right back to the moments, the emotions, even the smells. We can find ourselves in pits of anxiety and depression and not even realize something triggered a post-traumatic memory for us.

In this first episode talking about trauma, Jessica shares some of the traumatic things that have happened through her journey with Kruz and Paizlee and how recognizing triggers can be a huge help in managing those emotions that suddenly rise up when something happens.

It's so important to have people you can trust with your journey on days when anxiety or depression gets the best of you. They don't need to have all the words to make you feel better, they just need to be your safe place in the midst of it.
