Why is the healthcare system in America failing physicians and patients? What is preventing true patient empowerment? How can we shift the balance of power back to doctors and those they serve? These are the critical questions at the heart of today’s discussion on healthcare in America. In this blog, we explore how the US healthcare system has marginalized physicians, created barriers to quality care, and left both doctors and patients searching for real solutions. More importantly, we will examine how the Mavrix Profit System provides a path for doctors to reclaim their role as healers, empower physicians, and transform the physician-patient relationship for better outcomes.
The healthcare crisis in America is not just about rising costs—it’s about a system that overburdens doctors with excessive patient loads and administrative tasks, preventing them from delivering the high-quality care they strive for. Many physicians find themselves caught in an endless cycle of bureaucracy, struggling to advocate for their patients while managing overwhelming workloads. As a result, patient empowerment becomes nearly impossible, and the physician’s ability to make informed, personalized decisions is restricted by policies that prioritize profit over well-being.
But what if there was a way to break free from this cycle? The future of healthcare in America does not have to be defined by limitations. By embracing empowerment healthcare strategies, doctors can create a model that prioritizes the physician-patient relationship and enhances healthcare advocacy. The Mavrix Profit System offers an alternative that allows doctors to reduce patient volume, focus on individualized care, and operate outside the constraints of insurance-based healthcare. With this approach, physicians can empower patients by dedicating more time to education, prevention, and customized treatment plans—ultimately improving the quality of healthcare in the US.
One of the biggest challenges facing healthcare in America is the pressure on doctors to conform to outdated systems that do not serve their interests or those of their patients. Many physicians feel trapped, with limited opportunities to make real changes in their practice. However, by shifting their approach and considering alternative healthcare models, they can regain autonomy, practice medicine on their own terms, and advocate for meaningful improvements in healthcare policy. This transition not only benefits doctors but also enhances patient empowerment by fostering an environment where patients receive more attention, better guidance, and more effective treatment options.
If you’re a physician looking for ways to empower patients, advocate for change, and build a practice that aligns with your values, this blog will provide insights and solutions that can help you navigate these challenges. The US healthcare system may be complex, but there are pathways to a better future—ones that put control back into the hands of those who truly care about patient outcomes. The Mavrix Profit System is one of those solutions, and it’s reshaping the way physicians engage with healthcare advocacy, patient care, and their own professional fulfillment.

Why is healthcare in America struggling to provide quality care? What are the root causes behind the rising healthcare costs? How can the ongoing healthcare crisis be addressed to ensure better outcomes for all? In this blog, I explore the truth about America's healthcare crisis, uncovering the systemic issues that have led to healthcare problems across the nation. The problems with healthcare in America go beyond access and affordability—they reflect deep-seated challenges within the healthcare system that prioritize corporate profits over patient well-being.
For decades, healthcare reform has been a topic of debate, yet meaningful change remains elusive. The rising healthcare costs, the bureaucracy within the healthcare system, and the overwhelming influence of corporate lobbying have created an environment where patients struggle to receive necessary care. The healthcare crisis has led to an alarming increase in chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes and obesity, raising concerns about healthcare quality and affordability. Compared to other developed nations, the U.S. continues to rank poorly in terms of health outcomes, highlighting the urgent need for healthcare policy changes. The growing frustrations among doctors and patients alike point to the pressing need for an alternative system that prioritizes healthcare access and equitable treatment for all.
As we examine the healthcare system failures, it becomes evident that major industries—including pharmaceutical companies, insurance providers, and food corporations—hold significant control over policy decisions. This influence has led to widespread healthcare inequality and systemic healthcare challenges that disproportionately impact lower-income communities. However, a growing movement of doctors is beginning to challenge the status quo, advocating for direct patient care models that bypass traditional insurance-based systems. This shift presents an opportunity for individuals to take control of their healthcare decisions, focusing on preventive care and long-term wellness rather than short-term treatments.
The healthcare crisis is not a problem that emerged overnight. It is the result of decades of policy decisions, industry influence, and a shifting focus away from patient care. Addressing these healthcare issues requires a concerted effort to challenge the healthcare bureaucracy and demand real, impactful healthcare reform. The problems with healthcare in America cannot be ignored, and without proactive change, millions will continue to suffer under a system that fails to meet their needs.
The question remains—what can be done to bring about change? While government policies and industry regulations play a significant role, individuals must also seek out alternatives that put their health first. From choosing healthcare providers who prioritize patient care to supporting policy initiatives that promote healthcare affordability and access, there are ways to push back against the failures of the current system. Exploring new models of care, advocating for transparency in healthcare costs, and staying informed about the latest developments in healthcare policy are all steps toward a better future.
If you are seeking more insights on the ongoing healthcare crisis and want to explore real solutions, continue reading and check out our other content on this critical issue. What does the shocking assassination of the UnitedHealthcare CEO reveal about the state of healthcare today? How are patients and doctors reacting to the growing challenges within the system? Could this moment be the catalyst for exploring alternatives like cash-only clinics or starting a cash-only medical practice? In this blog, I’ll take a closer look at these critical questions and uncover how this tragedy is sparking broader conversations about healthcare reform and patient care.
The recent death of the UnitedHealthcare CEO sent shockwaves across the industry, highlighting just how contentious and fraught the relationship between insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients has become. Stories of denied cancer treatments, refused surgeries, and neglected medical equipment needs are flooding social media, bringing long-standing American healthcare problems to light. These stories aren’t just isolated events—they reflect systemic problems with medical insurance that leave both patients and doctors feeling frustrated and powerless. For doctors, this moment may prompt a reevaluation of their relationship with insurance companies. Many physicians are increasingly looking at models like cash only clinics, which remove the middleman and allow for more transparent, patient-focused care. The blog goes into why this shift is becoming more appealing for doctors who are tired of battling insurance companies for fair compensation and for patients seeking clarity and reliability in their healthcare experiences.
As this discussion unfolds, one thing is clear: patients are fed up with the inefficiencies and inequities of the current system, and doctors have a critical opportunity to educate and build trust with their patient communities. Many patients mistakenly believe doctors are well-compensated by insurers, unaware of the minimal reimbursements that make it difficult for providers to deliver quality care. This disconnect creates an opportunity to open dialogues, share the realities of working with insurance companies, and explore alternatives like cash-only medical clinics that prioritize patient care over administrative hurdles. While this tragedy involving the UnitedHealthcare CEO may not spark immediate industry-wide changes, it has highlighted deep-seated healthcare controversies that doctors and patients can no longer ignore. By considering cash-based care models, physicians can empower patients with better options and regain control over their practice.
This pivotal moment reminds us of the potential for change in how we approach healthcare, but the journey doesn’t end here. If you’re interested in exploring more about innovative healthcare models, actionable strategies for navigating American healthcare issues, or patient-centered care approaches, make sure to check out my other blog posts and resources. Let’s continue the conversation about how we can move forward in addressing these pressing challenges together.

Have you ever wondered why some doctors are stepping away from insurance? Why are more physicians becoming cash-only practitioners? And how does a podiatrist manage to leave insurance "cold turkey"? These questions are at the heart of Dr. Stephen Barrett's compelling story, as he shares his journey to becoming one of the doctors that don’t need insurance and adopting a cash-only no insurance doctors model.
In this podcast, we explore Dr. Barrett’s candid reflections on the challenges he faced as an insurance-dependent provider and the tipping point that drove him to make a dramatic change. For over 30 years, Dr. Barrett witnessed the evolving complexities of dealing with doctors and insurance companies, from overwhelming paperwork to diminishing reimbursements. His frustration with the system grew, ultimately leading to a pivotal moment: either continue enduring the "slow drip torture" of insurance or pursue a new path to practice medicine the way he believed it should be delivered. His experience underscores why the question, "Why do some doctors not take insurance?", is increasingly relevant in today’s healthcare landscape.
Dr. Barrett’s shift away from insurance was not without challenges, but it allowed him to focus on direct patient care without the restrictions imposed by insurance companies. This transition not only restored his passion for medicine but also opened up possibilities for innovative treatments, particularly for patients suffering from diabetic neuropathy and chronic pain conditions. By becoming one of the cash-only-no doctors no insurance, Dr. Barrett could offer a patient-centric model that prioritizes outcomes over bureaucracy. He shares how patients responded, how his business adjusted to the shift, and why many found value in paying directly for specialized care. His journey is a clear example of why more physicians are asking themselves, "Why do some doctors not take insurance?"
As you read further, you’ll gain insight into how this model works and the benefits it offers. Dr. Barrett explains the importance of transparency in pricing and how his practice avoided the pitfalls of concierge or membership-based models often used by doctors who don’t take insurance. He outlines how the cash-only approach is not just about finances but about creating a more meaningful connection with patients, free from the complications of third-party payers. If you've ever thought, “I hate health insurance” or wondered, “Can you see a primary doctor without insurance?,” this discussion provides valuable perspectives.
This story offers a glimpse into the realities of leaving the traditional insurance model and the transformative impact it can have on both doctors and patients. Dr. Barrett’s journey reminds us that healthcare doesn't have to follow a one-size-fits-all approach—there’s always another way forward.
What can today’s election marketing strategies teach us about growing a business? Are there insights from high-stakes campaign tactics that we can apply to boost our practice? And what are three crucial election marketing lessons that can elevate your business strategy right now? In this episode of The Practice Profit System, I get into these questions, exploring the idea that “Nothing can kill a bad company faster than a great advertising campaign” and why this principle was a pivotal factor in the recent election campaigns. Join me as we explore how election marketing lessons, drawn from the highs and lows of campaign strategies, can provide practical insights for your marketing and growth.
A key theme we discuss is how spending does not equal success—a lesson made clear when comparing ad spend across the recent campaigns. For example, the Harris-Walz campaign invested over a billion dollars in advertising, while the Trump campaign spent closer to half that amount. Yet, the differences in message clarity and audience targeting were striking. This comparison highlights how understanding your market and crafting clear, targeted messaging can be more impactful than simply increasing your ad budget. Effective marketing is about creating earned media and establishing credibility without relying solely on massive ad spends. In this episode, I break down three election marketing lessons that can help transform your approach: the importance of message clarity, the value of targeted messaging, and the role of earned media as a tool to reach audiences authentically.
The clarity of a campaign's message can determine its effectiveness, as seen in how well—or poorly—candidates communicated their positions. For instance, data indicates that voters felt Trump understood their concerns more than Harris. This sense of connection emerged from Trump’s use of relatable messaging, emphasizing voter concerns over economic hardships, whereas Harris’s campaign often highlighted different priorities. This episode demonstrates why crafting messaging that resonates with your target audience is one of the best strategies to engage potential clients. By aligning your message with what matters most to your audience, you not only engage them more effectively but also increase their likelihood of seeing your practice as a solution to their problems. We’ll explore how election campaigns reveal the importance of a sharp message and offer for connecting with clients and growing your business.
Another powerful election marketing lesson is how earned media plays a pivotal role in today’s marketing landscape. Earned media, whether it’s word of mouth, podcasts, or social media, enables you to build brand awareness organically. The Trump campaign made effective use of earned media, capitalizing on alternative media outlets to reach more diverse audiences. In contrast, Harris’s campaign relied heavily on paid advertising, such as large ads in Vegas, which lacked a targeted approach. We’ll explore why generating earned media through content like podcasts, interviews, and video shorts can be a highly effective way to build trust and credibility for your practice. Just as the election highlighted how earned media can influence public opinion, this approach can be a game-changer in attracting clients without overextending your marketing budget.
Ultimately, this episode underscores the practical applications of election marketing for any business owner. Spending millions on ads won’t guarantee success if the message doesn’t resonate, and targeting the right audience is crucial. For practice owners, understanding the needs of your market, crafting relevant messaging, and utilizing earned media can foster better client relationships and help your business grow steadily. The strategies drawn from these campaign lessons emphasize aligning your message with what’s important to clients and staying flexible to adapt to their needs.
Tune in as I break down each of these election marketing lessons in detail. If you’re looking for more strategies on applying these insights to your business, don’t miss our upcoming one-day event in Phoenix, where we’ll dive deeper into these concepts and help craft a personalized plan for your practice. What role does nutrition play in patient outcomes, and why does it matter according to Dr. Reza Jazayeri? How can proper nutrition make a difference in surgical recovery, and what does science reveal about the links between nutrition and surgery? This podcast dives into Dr. Jazayeri’s insights on Nutrition In Surgery, discussing the often-overlooked impact that nutritional status has on healing, tissue repair, and surgical outcomes. Through his experience as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in revision surgeries, Dr. Jazayeri explores why preparing a patient’s body with perioperative nutrition can help improve recovery rates and reduce complications. This discussion sheds light on the science behind nutrition and its essential role in the body’s ability to heal, specifically around surgery.
Dr. Jazayeri shares findings on how nutrition prior to surgery can benefit patients of all ages, even those without pre-existing nutritional deficits. He explains that many patients arrive for surgery without the proper pre-surgery nutrition, which may impact their ability to cope with the physical demands of recovery. As Dr. Jazayeri points out, even patients who consider themselves healthy can experience improved outcomes by focusing on nutrition for surgery, highlighting that foods that promote wound healing and targeted nutritional support can significantly impact both minor procedures and major surgeries.
One key topic Dr. Jazayeri covers is the concept of a nutritional assessment before surgery, which helps identify deficiencies that might hinder healing. He explains how essential nutrients, particularly amino acids, support immune functions and act as building blocks for tissue recovery, while certain tissue healing foods can help the body transition from the high-stress catabolic phase into the anabolic phase of healing more efficiently. His approach emphasizes the importance of customizing nutrition before surgery to help patients optimize recovery times, reduce risks of infection, and support the physical stress that surgery places on the body.
For individuals preparing for surgery, this blog also explores the practicalities of perioperative nutrition, which focuses on sustaining energy levels and minimizing muscle breakdown. Dr. Jazayeri likens surgical preparation to athletic training, explaining that just as athletes consume specific nutrients to maximize performance, patients benefit from a similar approach. The goal is to support the body’s metabolic needs, particularly as it enters recovery. According to Dr. Jazayeri, a well-rounded nutrition after surgery plan not only includes high-quality protein for muscle repair but also foods that heal and encourage wound healing. By carefully choosing foods that heal and ensuring the body has sufficient amino acids, Dr. Jazayeri demonstrates how nutrition interventions contribute to better recovery.
The blog touches on Dr. Jazayeri’s approach to recovery nutrition, underscoring his stance on the potential of strategic supplementation. By examining the role of specific amino acids in muscle preservation and collagen formation, Dr. Jazayeri explains what promotes healing protein for wound healing works in real-world cases. He further illustrates this by discussing studies showing improved recovery rates in patients who supplement with amino acids before and after surgery, leading to measurable improvements in patient outcomes. Dr. Jazayeri details how nutrition in surgery doesn’t just apply to those undergoing orthopedic procedures; it also benefits anyone who seeks a smooth recovery from a range of surgical interventions, as nutritional optimization before and after surgery fosters resilience against complications and supports functional recovery.
The podcast concludes by inviting listeners to explore additional resources, whether they’re interested in improving patient care or learning more about how nutrition and surgery intersect. For those curious about the science of healing and nutrition, this podcast provides a comprehensive look into Dr. Jazayeri’s innovative perspectives on patient care and nutrition in surgery. By following his advice, individuals facing surgery and medical practitioners alike can better understand the importance of preparing the body nutritionally for the best possible outcomes. Explore further content for more insights on the relationship between surgery nutrition and patient health, and discover how enhancing nutrition in surgery can play a role in effective healing and recovery.
How does music affect memory? What songs bring back vivid memories of pivotal moments in your life? Have you ever stopped to consider how music is the soundtrack of our lives, shaping our experiences and emotions? In this episode, we dive deep into the powerful connection between music and memory, exploring how certain songs can transport us back to significant times in our lives and evoke emotions that we thought were long gone.
Music holds an incredible power that often goes unnoticed. It’s more than just a series of notes and lyrics; it’s an emotional anchor that links us to our past. For many of us, songs that define our life can evoke memories of first loves, cherished friendships, and moments that made us feel truly alive. In this episode, I share personal stories about the songs that represent my life, from the moment I heard the Eagles’ "Hotel California" for the first time to the unforgettable tunes that have marked my journey through the years.
One of the poignant moments that prompted this exploration was the recent passing of J.D. Souther, a prolific songwriter whose hits defined an era. His music is a testament to the way that songs cement memories in our lives. As we reminisce about his work and others from that time, we are reminded that every road trip needs a soundtrack, a collection of “remember the good times” songs that can instantly take us back to carefree days. Each note and lyric can evoke images of our youth, a first car, or a night spent with friends—those “songs about remembering the good times” that bring joy and nostalgia.
I share my reflections on iconic tracks that have influenced me over the years. For instance, the memories tied to Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me” transport me back to my high school days, filled with hope and excitement. Similarly, I think of my brother playing "Blue Sky" from the Allman Brothers at local gigs, a sound that reminds me of bonding moments and the passage of time. These songs not only remind us of the good times but also of the challenges we faced, like listening to Bob Seger's "Against the Wind" during tough periods in my life.
We all have our own unique playlists filled with songs that describe our life and make us think about the experiences that have shaped us. Whether it’s a song that reminds you of a broken heart, a joyous celebration, or simply the companionship of friends, these melodies form the fabric of our personal histories. As you listen, I encourage you to think about the songs that bring back memories for you. What songs make you reflect on your past and the good times?
As we explore these themes, I invite you to participate in the conversation. Share in the comments below what are the songs that make you think about life and those that hold special memories for you. Let’s create a communal playlist of “songs to remember,” capturing the essence of our shared experiences and the soundtrack of our lives. What do insurance companies really care about? Are they focused on patient care, or is profit their main concern? How can doctors manage when faced with reduced payments? In this episode, we explore "What Do Insurance Companies Care About? Lessons Every Doctor Must Know"—a must-listen for every physician navigating the frustrating world of health insurance.
At a recent orthopedic event in Las Vegas, I had candid conversations with fellow doctors about the challenges posed by insurance companies, particularly United Healthcare. The question that often came up was, "why is United Healthcare so bad?" Many of you may already be familiar with the headaches caused by United Healthcare denied claims, reimbursement policy changes, and sudden reductions in payments. One doctor shared a particularly troubling experience. He had received an email from United Healthcare, informing him that effective immediately, his reimbursement for a major procedure was being cut by 20%. The procedure had been beneficial to his patients and a significant part of his practice’s revenue, but the cut left him unable to continue offering it. No chance for negotiation, no opportunity for appeal—just a unilateral decision by the insurer.
This isn’t an isolated event. Many doctors across the country are experiencing similar situations where insurance companies dictate medical care through their reimbursement policies. It's not just about UHC claims being denied; it’s about a system that seems designed to prioritize profits over patient care. These medical insurance denials and sudden changes to United Healthcare reimbursement policies leave doctors with fewer options, forcing them to either accept financial losses or stop offering critical procedures. It’s no wonder so many physicians are frustrated with denial in healthcare, particularly when insurers like United Healthcare make sweeping decisions without considering the impact on patient care or medical practices.
The truth is, insurance companies like United Healthcare care more about their financial outcomes than the well-being of patients or the financial stability of doctors. They routinely implement UHC reimbursement policy cuts, approve treatments only to later issue clawbacks, and deny necessary procedures. This leaves doctors in a constant battle, fighting against health insurance denials and trying to provide the best care possible under increasingly difficult circumstances. I’ve even worked with clients who faced multimillion-dollar clawbacks, only to have to navigate complex legal and ethical issues to reduce the damage.
At Mavrix, our mission is clear: to free doctors from the clutches of insurance companies. We believe that there’s no future in continuing to depend on a system that prioritizes profits over patient care. We’ve already helped countless doctors navigate United Healthcare legal and ethical issues, clawbacks, and denied claims, and we’re committed to helping many more. Our goal is to help 100,000 doctors break free from insurance companies by 2033, so they can regain control of their practices and provide the care they’re passionate about.
One of the doctors we’ve helped will be featured in an upcoming interview, where he’ll share his journey from struggling under the weight of United Health reimbursement cuts and denials to running a successful practice that’s no longer reliant on insurance. His story is just one of many, and it’s proof that doctors can regain their autonomy by stepping away from insurance-driven care.
If you’re a doctor tired of fighting insurance companies dictating medical care and want to reclaim your freedom, now is the time to act. Whether you're dealing with United medical insurance denials, battling unexpected clawbacks, or struggling with ever-changing reimbursement policies, Mavrix can help you find a path forward. We’ve guided doctors through millions of dollars in clawbacks and taught them how to break free from the traditional insurance system. We can help you do the same.
Are you struggling to figure out how to make your first 10 sales? Wondering if raising prices could help attract more patients? Or perhaps you're unsure how to market healthcare services effectively without alienating your existing patient base? These are just some of the questions I tackle in this episode as I dive deep into the essential steps for making those crucial first sales in your medical practice.
In today’s episode, I’m sharing insider tips on how to make your first 10 sales, particularly in cash-based procedures. Whether you've tried before and faced rejection or are just starting and feel overwhelmed, I’ve got you covered. Many doctors make the mistake of assuming certain patients won’t pay for premium services, often based on superficial judgments like appearance or insurance coverage. But here’s the thing: your best patients are usually the ones you least expect. In this podcast, I explain why you need to offer your services to everyone—no more self-selecting!
I’ll also show you the power of leveraging pre-qualification videos to warm up your prospects. By using short videos that outline the benefits of regenerative therapies or functional medicine, you can prime patients before they even walk into your office. This way, instead of trying to convince them, you’re having meaningful conversations with those who are already interested.
One of the biggest game-changers I highlight is pricing. Think charging lower prices makes your services more appealing? Think again. I discuss how behavioral science and experience show that higher prices often lead to better conversions because patients equate higher costs with higher quality. Many doctors feel hesitant at first, but once they adjust their pricing, they find that patients respond more positively—even at higher rates. I give specific price ranges and show you how increasing your rates to $1,500 or more for a single procedure can dramatically change patient perception and boost conversions.
The episode also breaks down the importance of a proven sales script—one designed to create emotional engagement. Patients aren’t buying just a procedure; they’re buying a better version of their lives. Whether it's a golfer regaining their swing or someone recovering their mobility after an injury, understanding the emotional driver behind every purchase is key. I walk you through our nine-question script that helps you tap into these emotions and position your services as the solution patients have been searching for.
Finally, I talk about the value of selling packages. As your confidence grows, you’ll shift from offering individual treatments to comprehensive packages that deliver long-term value. Some of our clients now sell $10,000 to $75,000 packages—and no, you don’t need to sell dozens to make a meaningful impact. Even closing two or three high-value packages can transform your financial future, giving you the freedom to cut down on patient volume and reduce burnout.
This episode isn’t just about strategies; it’s about mindset. I know medical school didn’t prepare you to think like an entrepreneur, and that’s exactly why the Mavericks exist—to bridge that gap and support doctors in building profitable practices. If you’ve been frustrated with where you are and you’re ready to level up, I invite you to join our one-day event in Arizona. Spend a day with me, meet other like-minded doctors, and learn firsthand how to put these strategies into action.
So, if you’ve been asking yourself how to make your first sale or struggling to gain traction with your marketing efforts, this episode is for you. Tune in to discover actionable tips to make those first 10 sales, raise your prices with confidence, and build a sustainable practice with packages that work for you and your patients.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to reshape your medical practice—and your future. Click the link below for more details about our upcoming event and take the first step toward becoming a Maverick. Let’s get you those first 10 sales and help you reignite your passion for being a doctor.
Are you an orthopedic surgeon wondering how to balance patient insurance and cash-based payments? Do you feel like your patient base is too reliant on insurance, making it difficult to introduce cash-only procedures? Or maybe you’ve encountered the common belief that patients won’t pay out-of-pocket for high-quality treatments like orthobiologics?
In this podcast, I tackle some of the most common questions orthopedic surgeons have about cash-based medical practices and patient insurance. One of the most frequent concerns I hear from surgeons is what to do when patients insist on using insurance for everything? It’s a valid question, but I want to help you break through the misconceptions that might be holding you back from offering valuable, cash-only treatments.
The conversation often starts with doctors telling me how different their patient base is. Some say they’re in a rural area, or that their patients are on Medicare and won’t be able to afford procedures that aren’t covered by insurance. I get it—those concerns are valid. But let me tell you this: I’ve worked with doctors across the U.S. and Canada, from rural upstate New York to metropolitan areas, and the results are often the same. Surgeons like Dr. Marc Pietropaoli in a small New York town are successfully charging $15,000 to $20,000 per procedure. Others, like Dr. Joshua Schachter in Wichita Falls, Texas, are doing the same. So, when surgeons tell me their situation is different, I challenge that idea—because we’ve seen time and time again that cash-based practices work, even in markets that seem challenging.
The key to success in cash-based healthcare lies in understanding your patients' true needs. Many doctors believe that patients, especially those over 60, won’t pay out-of-pocket. But here's the reality: Patients 60 and older are willing to spend four times more on treatments than younger patients. Those over 70? They’re willing to spend even more. They’re tired of being bounced around from appointment to appointment, dealing with endless referrals and waiting for approvals that never come. What they truly want is a solution—a direct, effective treatment that doesn’t involve dealing with insurance.
So, how do you, as an orthopedic surgeon, market your medical practice to appeal to these patients? First, you need to make the offer to every patient who walks through your door. It doesn’t matter if they’ve declined it before—keep presenting them with the option of orthobiologics or cash-only procedures. Most patients are not saying they want everything covered by insurance—they’re frustrated with the insurance system itself. They want a one-stop solution, a procedure that works without the insurance hassle.
Here’s the catch: If you’re underpricing your services, your patients might not trust the efficacy of the treatment. Think about it. If you charge only $750 for an orthobiologics procedure, patients are going to doubt its effectiveness. But when you charge $1,500, $2,500, or even $10,000, you’re communicating the value and the quality of the care you provide. And trust me, patients will pay for it, as long as they believe it will work.
When we work with doctors, we dig into their patient databases—not looking at sensitive medical details, but focusing on key factors like age and location. What we consistently find is that older patients, especially those 60-plus, are the best buyers of orthobiologics. These patients value their time and their health, and they’re willing to pay for a solution that doesn’t involve jumping through insurance hoops. And with cash-based practices, you’re giving them exactly what they want: a direct, effective option that works.
If you’re still unsure about how to start a cash-only medical practice, it all begins with patient education. Use tools like videos to explain the benefits of orthobiologics before you even step into the room. This approach not only cuts down on consultation time but also primes your patients to be more receptive to cash-based treatment options. When they see the value before you even begin discussing it, they’re far more likely to agree to the procedure.
By shifting your mindset and offering cash-based treatments to every patient, you create an environment where they have to say yes. This approach has worked time and again, with many of my clients earning between $200,000 and $300,000 a month, consistently.
So, if you’re still thinking your patient base is too different, or that they won’t pay for cash-based healthcare, let me assure you: They will. The key is in how you present the option and the confidence you have in your procedures. Patients are looking for solutions, and they’re willing to pay for them if you offer the right treatment at the right price.
To learn more about how to implement these strategies and grow your cash-based practice, watch the full video where I dive deeper into how to market your medical practice, set up patient education, and successfully charge self-pay patients. Trust me, it’s time to rethink how you’re approaching your practice—your patients, and your bottom line, will thank you for it.

The change was profound.
Another inspiring example is Dr. Roddy McGee. His story showcases the long-term benefits of a successful medical practice and how a mentor can guide you to build a scalable clinic. With the Mavrix Profit System, Dr. McGee streamlined his business processes, implemented strategies to enhance revenue, and started focusing on what he sees as the future of his practice. The guidance and support he received allowed him to shift his priorities and make smarter business decisions.
Dr. Jake Bendicion’s experience highlights another key aspect—work-life balance. Many doctors feel overwhelmed with the demands of running a clinic, but Jake’s story illustrates that it’s possible to claim your personal life back while still operating a successful practice. By following the steps outlined in the Mavrix Profit System, Jake was able to achieve the perfect balance between his professional ambitions and personal happiness, a goal many doctors strive for but rarely attain.

Are you struggling with setting the right prices for your healthcare services? Do you find that your current pricing strategies aren't converting patients as effectively as you'd like? Are you curious about the costs associated with orthobiologics procedures and how to incorporate them into your pricing model? In this podcast, we'll address these pain points and provide you with tips on healthcare pricing that convert patients.
Setting the right prices for your healthcare services is important for the success of your medical practice. One of the most common mistakes in healthcare pricing is failing to consider all the factors that influence pricing decisions. Many providers set their prices based solely on what competitors charge or based on covering their costs, but this approach can lead to lost revenue and unhappy patients. Instead, it’s essential to adopt healthcare pricing strategies that are rooted in science and business principles. By understanding the true value you provide and pricing your services accordingly, you can achieve a higher medical practice profit margin and improve patient satisfaction.
One of the first steps in developing effective healthcare pricing strategies is to avoid common pricing mistakes. These mistakes often stem from not fully understanding the costs associated with providing care, including the costs associated with an orthobiologics procedure. By accurately accounting for these costs, you can set prices that are both fair to your patients and profitable for your practice. Additionally, it’s important to consider the differences between insurance vs. cash payments. Each payment model has its own set of advantages and challenges, and choosing the right one can significantly impact your practice's financial health and patient satisfaction.
Another important aspect of healthcare pricing is overcoming limiting beliefs that may be holding you back from setting optimal prices. These beliefs often stem from misconceptions about patient affordability and market competition. By addressing and overcoming these limiting beliefs, you can create a more robust and confident pricing strategy for healthcare services. For instance, some providers may believe that lower prices will attract more patients, but this is not always the case. In fact, patients often associate higher prices with higher quality care, so it's essential to strike the right balance.
Creating a 10-star patient experience is also a key component of effective healthcare pricing. Exceptional patient experiences not only lead to higher patient satisfaction but also to better patient retention and referrals. By focusing on providing top-notch care and ensuring that every touchpoint reflects the high value of your services, you can justify your prices and build a loyal patient base. This approach not only helps in converting patients but also enhances the overall reputation of your practice.
When setting prices, it's important to adopt a comprehensive approach that includes considering various factors to consider when setting prices. This includes not only the direct costs of providing care but also the indirect costs such as administrative expenses and the cost of maintaining high-quality facilities and equipment. By taking all these factors into account, you can develop a cost-effective healthcare pricing strategy that ensures profitability without compromising on patient care.
Implementing these pricing strategies in healthcare can significantly improve your medical practice profit margin. By using a scientific and business-based approach to pricing, you can ensure that your services are competitively priced while still delivering high value to your patients. This not only helps in attracting and retaining patients but also in achieving long-term financial stability for your practice.
In summary, effective healthcare pricing is about more than just setting competitive rates. It's about understanding the true value of your services, avoiding common pricing mistakes, overcoming limiting beliefs, creating exceptional patient experiences, and considering all relevant costs. By adopting these strategies, you can develop a pricing strategy for healthcare services that converts patients and ensures the success of your medical practice.

Are you curious about why orthobiologics is such a valuable proposition in modern healthcare? Have you considered the cost differences between traditional treatments and orthobiologic therapies? How can orthobiologics improve patient outcomes while reducing overall expenses? In our latest podcast, we address these essential questions and explore the numerous benefits of orthobiologics and regenerative medicine, including orthobiologic injections and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy.
Orthobiologics and regenerative medicine offer significant advantages over conventional treatment methods, particularly in terms of cost-effectiveness and patient recovery time. Traditional treatments for conditions like arthritis often involve substantial expenses and lengthy recovery periods. For instance, physical therapy, steroid injections, and hyaluronic acid treatments can collectively cost thousands of dollars, with total joint replacements reaching up to $52,000. In contrast, orthobiologic treatments, such as PRP therapy and bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC), typically cost around $5,300. These therapies not only reduce financial burdens but also provide less invasive options with shorter downtimes, allowing patients to return to their daily activities more quickly.
Incorporating orthobiologics into medical practice enhances both patient care and physician efficiency. By offering high-efficacy treatments with fewer complications and faster recovery times, healthcare providers can meet the growing demand for value-based care. This shift can lead to increased patient satisfaction and reduced administrative burdens, allowing physicians to focus more on patient interaction and less on documentation. Ultimately, orthobiologics presents a compelling solution for improving healthcare delivery. For a more comprehensive understanding of these benefits and practical insights on integrating orthobiologics into your practice, we invite you to listen to the entire podcast. Discover how orthobiologics can transform your approach to patient care and join us in advancing modern medicine.
Ever wondered why some people effortlessly achieve their goals while others struggle? What scientific principles underpin the art of goal setting? How can understanding these principles transform your approach to achieving success? In this engaging blog, we will talk about the science of goal setting and achievement. Let’s explore the concepts of neuroplasticity and dopamine. These elements play important roles in how we set and achieve our goals, shaping our motivation and drive.
The first concept we will discuss is neuroplasticity, the brain's remarkable ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. This capability allows us to adapt to new challenges and recover from setbacks, such as injuries or traumas related to professional pressures. Understanding neuroplasticity helps us grasp how our brain can be trained to focus on specific goals, enhancing our ability to achieve them. Complementing this is dopamine, often misunderstood as merely the molecule of pleasure. In reality, dopamine is integral to motivation, compelling us to pursue our objectives and providing the drive needed for goal achievement. Let’s also talk about myths surrounding dopamine, emphasizing its role in maintaining sustained motivation rather than short-term rewards.
As we dive deeper, the blog outlines a strategic roadmap to effective goal setting and achievement. This involves selecting a singular, priority goal, ensuring it is both specific and lofty enough to challenge us. The science-backed approach insists on focusing on one primary objective at a time to avoid cognitive overload. The blog also introduces the concept of defining goals with actionable verbs and measurable criteria, enhancing the likelihood of success. By setting clear, time-bound targets and understanding the neurochemical processes that drive our motivation, we can significantly improve our goal achievement strategies. Join us in exploring these insights and discover how to harness the science of goal setting to transform your personal and professional life. Watch the full video to learn more about these powerful techniques and start setting and achieving your goals more effectively today.

It's the concept of 80/20 and when applied correctly it can positively change your business. Helping you make more and work less.
Tired of prospective patients who don't buy? The key is to be THE expert in your market for your services. However, it's not only about your skill set. It has everything to do with publishing, promoting and turning that into profit. This week I interview Rob Kosberg of Best Seller Publishing. He shares his 10 plus years experience in using physical books to dominate your market. Charge premium prices and only attract highly qualified patients into your practice.
The beachhead is a basic fundamental teaching of our system. Today I take you deeper into why the beachhead is so important. Don't worry it doesn't mean you can do more procedures, buy more machines or do more cool medical stuff. In fact, this will help you do more and different kinds of procedures with confidence you will make money. Enjoy.

They have so many ideas and questions. Thoughts running through their head. On today's podcast, you'll discover 3 simple processes to give you clarity, laser-like focus, and control.
Tired of setting revenue goals for your practice, only to see the team fall short? Heck, maybe you don’t have any goals, because you’ve tried that before, but it didn’t work.
There is a reason why it happens and it’s a concept called THE GAP. Listen in as Matt shares the process for hitting your goals every month and quarter. The same process used by his top-performing clients.
To get a copy of THE GAP, post a comment that says.. Send me the gap. Or post comments on Linkedin, Facebook or YouTube videos.
You ever go through the interview process, find someone amazing, hire them and then have nothing but nightmares? They seem to have this hypnotic control over the team and you can’t get rid of them.
We just finished up two days in Charlotte, NC with the Private Client Group. This topic came up and on today’s podcast, I’ll show you how to make sure this never happens again.
Plus, you’ll see how to make sure your team works together, hitting goals and serving patients.
Make more, work less. That sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? The problem is the path people take to get there. Most take the wrong approach based on bad advice.
Discover the path to making this a reality in today’s podcast.
Today we dive into the best business growth strategy for doctors and others who own their own practice. (Or want to start one.)
Throughout July, I shared the 6 levers to success in your business. These podcasts are some of the most downloaded. Which got me to thinking about the 7th lever to success.
It came to me during an interview with Donna White and today I am going to share with you the.. .
The Secret Lever To Success For Practice Owners
This enemy controls, your thoughts, emotions, ideas, how you spend your days. It controls everything.
Who is this enemy? Listen in and you will not only discover the enemy, but how to slay this enemy.
In today’s podcast, I"ll share with you my lessons of working with, hanging around and masterminding with some of the top performers in their respective niches.
It doesn’t come down to luck, or DNA or special knowledge.
In fact, the secret can be found on the driving range of any PGA Tour event.
And this is the most important. It’s called Monthly Recurring Revenue. It will give you less stress, better sleep, more time off and most importantly more profits.

One thing you should be obsessed with in your practice is scale.
When I get on the phone with my Private Client Group members, the most successful ones share two very important numbers with me.
Mastery of these numbers allows you to turn up or down, your revenue stream. And it makes sure you are profitable.
Don’t know these 2 numbers? They are part of the 6 levers and we are going to break them down.. NOW.
When was the last time, you took 7 days away from your practice and didn’t check in once? Or even check in daily? Hourly?
When you are away, does your staff constantly call and text?
Do you take ’working vacations’ where you spend the entire time fussing about the business?
In today’s installment, I go deeper into the 6 levers on your business. Master these and profits and time off increase.
There are 6 levers in your practice that if measure daily, you can dramatically improve the performance of your business. Making you more money.
Yesterday was the 77th anniversary of the D Day invasion at Normandy. This is important because the D-Day invasion is where I developed the concept of the Beachhead for marketing a business. It is the first step on my stairway system and today I break down the importance of the beachhead in your practice.
Why don’t people buy? You state your case, you lay out all the technical reasons why it will work, explain the science, then you get..
"I need to check with my wife/husband."
"Let me think about it. Let me talk with my Doctor."
The list goes on and on. In today’s podcast, I show you how to make sure you never get those replies and only get a big fat YES!
Working with clinics every day, I get to look under the hood of practices. Their financials, what works, staffing, procedures, you name it.
With every Doctor, I recommend they hire two key positions first. These two staff members are not medical, they are not a marketing firm and they will make you more money than you can ever imagine.
Find out which staff members will make you the most amount of money AND serve the highest number of patients.
I have a secret I’m going to share with you today. It’s how I’ve been able to help so many practices scale so quickly.
Here is the best. I doesn’t require you to run more ads. In fact, it’s a little secret I learned from the Obama and Trump campaigns.
LIsten and watch to find out.

There are very real obstacles to you scaling your practice. In a way that allows you to be paid what you are worth AND take lots of time off. (While the business thrives)
This past weekend, in our Private Client Group Mastermind, we discussed this topic extensively.
Today, I’ll share with you how the company Basecamp, clearly defined their culture and got rid of those who didn’t fit.

This past weekend, we had to put down our beloved Mulligan the chocolate lab. If you don’t have a family dog or have never had to put one down, you have NO idea what I’m talking about.
For those of you who have had this experience, you know exactly how I"m feeling.
Today, I’m going to share with you why you "MUST LOVE DOG" and the importance in your marketing.
You can bet your best rawhide bone, this is not the marketing lesson you think it is.
Let’s dig in.
Have you have noticed that some people can deal well with stress and uncertainty while others get all wobbly? The same skill you used to become a great Doctor and NOT get flustered when your patient has 18 gunshot wounds and is bleeding out, are the same ones you need for entrepreneurial success.
Today I explain how the ER, Figure Skaters, and your success are inter connected.
Little known fact about me. I love to slow smoke ribs, pork, and turkey. The reason why is I am a quick start, ADHD kind of entrepreneur. And that leaves me and others susceptible to massive mistakes.
Most entrepreneurs are of the ADHD ilk. Therefore, we want the shortcut, the quick hack. Today, I share with you how to combine both. The process and the shortcut.

Oftentimes, I"m asked, what was the secret to our massive growth. To go from start-up to $200,000 per month within 4 months. To 3 locations in 18 months generating 6.5 million in annual revenues.
People have a tendency to think it was our marketing (it helped), our procedures (not really), a few key people. It was none of those.
It all came down to a half-day we spent hammering out our company values. With input from our Doctors, manager and other staff.
Then everything centered on our ’values oil change’ which put everything into overdrive.
Today, I will walk you through this process and the power of the values oil change.
Today (March 30) is National Doctors Day. The most underappreciated professional group in the US.
In honor of your hard work, and for those of you who own a practice, are looking to start one, or want to scale your practice beyond 7 figures, I have a special gift.
Here is a training, on how to scale your practice. The three biggest mistakes Doctors make when it comes to starting and scaling their practice.
The purpose of starting a practice isn’t just to serve your patients but to serve your family. You want to make sure this practice pays you first. Not last.
Watch the video to find out how.
Resistance to business growth comes in many forms. Sometimes it is financial, other times it is the offer, but frankly, the biggest resistance point comes from loyal, long-standing staff.
Last week, I talked with 4 different practice owners about growing beyond 1 Million a year. All are dealing with this issue and today, I’ll break down for you the 3 main areas. Plus, what you can do about it.
When you are converting a prospect, you will unquestionably encounter resistance to the sale.
In 25 years of marketing, selling and owning businesses, I find most people approach this resistance the wrong way.
They usually try to overpower the prospect with logic or brute force. Both rarely work.
I’d like to suggest to you a different approach and I learned it on the beaches of Hollywood, Florida when I was 12 years old.

Growing your practice can be very challenging. What with all the advice that is out there, the free hacks, the 50 leads a month offers and the lack of time.
Today, I share with you how my own personal journey to become healthier relates to your practice being stuck in neutral.

One is way more important than the other, and it will determine the results of the other.

Want to improve your cash flow and reduce your daily stress? Ask these two simple questions...
In moment, I’m going to reveal my prediction of who wins the election on Tuesday. (Or whenever they figure out the results.)
Before I make my prediction, you need to understand something about me.
I’m a constitutionalist and I vote both sides of the aisle. I am looking at this purely from a marketers perspective. Understanding the power of movements, influence, persuasion and human nature.
My goal with this is to help educate you, because what we are witnessing here is one of the great marketing lessons in a long, long time.
There is a factor involved in all marketing and it’s the concept of “The True Believer’.
The goal of marketing is to create a group of people who will follow you to the ends of the earth. Who will go out of their way for your food, drink, experience, etc.
Think about all the iconic brands that have rabid followers:
• Starbucks
• Chick-Filet-A
• Disney
• Star Wars
• Comic books
• Star Trek
• College Football Teams, Pittsburgh Steeler Fans, Cub Fans, etc.
These followers will go anywhere, do anything and live/breath/die on how their team or brand performs.
You want your core customers to have an unbridled passion for you, your brand and what you believe in.
In 2012, statistically, President Obama was ripe to be voted out of office. His approval rating was below 45%. No sitting President had ever won a re-election with such a low approval rating.
Yet, he soundly beat Mitt Romney.
Republicans were not enthusiastic about Mitt. He had lots of great qualities, but nobody was excited about Mitt. Republicans weren’t voting for Mitt, they were voting against Obama.
In the 2020 Democratic party primaries, Biden couldn’t put away Bernie ‘Free Stuff’ Sanders. If it wasn’t for COVID there is a pretty good chance that primary goes all the way to the convention.
Again, people were not voting for Biden as much as they were voting against Bernie.
In 2016, we saw something even more unique. The first female who was nominated by her party for President of the United States. A truly historic moment.
Yet, Hillary couldn’t put 2,500 people into a rally. I remember Hillary had a rally with some famous musician and they pulled in 5,000 people in Raleigh. Except it was all kids under 25 and many weren’t registered in North Carolina, a major swing state.
I live in Charlotte, NC. A major swing state on the border of another swing state South Carolina. The other night while at my son’s lacrosse practice, Air Force 1 flew over and the hundred or so parents/kids in attendance erupted into a cheering frenzy.
That same night Trump put 15,000 people into an outdoor rally in Gastonia, NC. Only 20 miles away Kamala Harris put 150 people into an outdoor rally in downtown Charlotte, NC.
Earlier that day, Biden had 50 people at a rally in Raleigh, NC. A hot bed of Democrat support.
Every day, I see boat rallies, car parades, people standing on over passes holding Trump signs, banners.
My city is very Democratic, yet. I see Trump hats, shirts, banners, signs at about 5 to 1 over Biden.
People aren’t voting for Biden, they are voting against Trump.
For the most part, the Biden supporters I know aren’t thrilled with their candidate, they just want Trump gone.
Trump has one central message. Biden has, at my last count, 5.
Trump understands the power of one message, one market, one offer.
Biden looks like he can’t make up his mind what he wants to say.
Here is the last thing that I’ve noticed. There are LOTS of people who are going to vote for Trump, but don’t vocalize it, put up a sign, wear a hat or attend rallies.
But when you get them one on one, the look over their shoulder and whisper… “I’m voting for Trump, but don’t tell anyone.”
Enthusiasm for your product, service, the core true believer is the key to your success in business.
When you have customers who will wait in line over night for your movie, books, or whatever. You have the upper hand.
Granted this is a wild electio
Today we dig into the 4th insight on the principles of persuasion.

Failure is a good thing. It eliminates options.
That’s why when you are looking to influence your prospective patient, you need to..
JUSTIFY THEIR FAILURES
Today, I tell the story of how our best patient was the one who had 2 years of failure in fixing their ED. This became a very important part of our marketing.
And it should be for yours as well.
An interesting thing has happened during the pandemic. We’ve discovered new/old ways of doing business.
Many of my Doctors have been running webinars each week making them an extra 5 figures a week.
Here are some lessons we’ve learned.
