Don't ask me why it’s called Olum, I couldn’t tell you ^^

This one was a real surprise, because it was finished so very quickly. Usually it takes much more tinkering, but Olum was done in a moment! I was painting, not thinking much, and suddenly there it was!
It was love at first sight for me, and I still love it very much. It somehow gives me hope and happiness and comfort. My man feels very differently about it, which is funny, he doesn’t like it too much, but I would love to have it on my wall as a large print or, even better, as a tapestry or a blanket!

I would love to offer art prints in general actually, I’m a very analog girl. But until I have my own wall and an address and bank account and all the other necessary things, Olum is just gonna live as an NFT on @nftshowroom.
And if you feel so inclined, you can purchase it here: https://nftshowroom.com/gallery/anafae_kunst_olum

Because it was such a straight forward creation process and didn’t take very long, the process video is quite short. But I hope you enjoy it anyway. The music is a little different today, I played around in Garage Band and put a lot of echo effects on my ukulele, which makes it sound more like 13 ukuleles ^^

Check out my website and find all my art there (digital, analog, mixed media), as well as all the links to my NFT galleries!www.anafae.art

Well, hello!
It`s been a while! All my attention was on myself and my analog life these past months and I didn’t feel like sharing any of it. It was a lot of thinking, experiencing, dealing with the world, feeling. And none of it wanted to be put in words.
But I still produced some art, did some digital painting every now and then, and now that we’re settled in a nice house in the Bulgarian countyside (with 13 dogs ^^) until spring and life moves much quieter and slower, I feel it’s time to share it.

I don’t know exactly when I painted this one, but it must have been a time when I felt much more serious than I do now ^^ I know it might look rather funny and weird to some of you, but I remember I thought it quite serious back then. Not happy and cute like most of my other work. But I do like it a lot, and I hope it might tell you something.
I almost never think about a painting before I start, I just start and see what wants to come through.
Below in the process video you can see that it changed a lot, that I moved things around, experimented with different objects to fill the canvas and erased a lot. It’s really all intuition and trial and error, sometimes something might look good at first, but it doesn’t feel right to me.

I’ve minted "Glimpse" on @nftshowroom, so if you feel like it, you can buy the NFT there!

Digital painting, 2058x2936px
Available as NFT on MakersPlace: (I mint it as soon as this blog post is published, I like to include a link to a post in the nft description)
Thinking of home ...
This has been a big, maybe the biggest topic for me last year.
I've been a nomad for so long now, even before I moved into the van 3 years ago I had moved house a lot of times (I just counted and it's been 9 different places during the 10 years of my 20s).

I struggled a lot with the desire to finally settle somewhere.
To have a place where I can fully be myself, where I feel safe and welcome, where I can create a space for myself, where I can build and grow.
Especially last year this desire really haunted me and I was very sad a lot of the time.

But every struggle has a gift hidden in itself, an invitation to grow.
I still want to settle somewhere and create that special place for myself, but I've learned to be patient, to take one step at a time and enjoy myself in the Now, instead of longing for something in the future so desperately.

Also I found that the feeling of safety that I associate so much with "home" is something I actually can find in myself, which is also much more sustainable than everything I could create on the outside.

This is where I'm at now, but the painting was actually created in a moment where I felt this heavy feeling of longing and sadness so strongly. And self-pity actually, because I didn't already have what I wanted so badly and I couldn't let go.

This painting, and also the other two that are part of this series, is so very close to my heart. It is basically a portrait of myself in a special state of being, the expression of a deep feeling that accompanied me over a long time.

Art really can be like therapy and I'd like to think that making this artwork helped me to let go, to go on and to transform this feeling into something more useful and enjoyable.

I truly believe we have the choice to keep or let go of thoughts and feelings (like we can let go of a balloon in our hand and let it fly away), it's just a long and hard process to learn how to make use of that choice.

I got a little timelapse video for you (with ukulele music played by myself), where you can see the painting process, how I used a photo of me as a reference for the pullover and how I tinkered about with the idea of the house, before it finally found its place on top of the hat.
I did some editing in Affinity Photo afterwards, but actually not a lot, just some tiny little embellishments.

Welcome to Fair Famosa!

Yeih! New art! And it’s a Tangled piece too!

This was one of those paintings that were a little hard to grasp at some point. Some pieces are super friendly and open and tell me what they are right away, but this one needed a little more attention ^^
I kept coming back to it for weeks actually when we were still on the road, played a lot with colors and shapes, got stuck a few times … but now it’s done!
And I like it at lot :)

If you like it too you can even buy it, it’s minted as nft on NFTShowroom as a single edition for 55 Hive.

When I work in Procreate I don’t have to worry about taking process pictures anymore, because the program records everything I do and puts it into a nice Timelapse video, which is great!
I love watching those videos myself, it is quite exciting to recap my own creative process, especially with paintings that took me weeks to finish, with a lot of breaks in between sessions. It reminds me of all the little details and creatures that didn’t make it into the final piece but that I really liked and were kinda sad to have to let go.

So here is my whole painting process in 30 seconds with sweet ukulele music in the background (played by myself)

This is how it stayed for quite a while, while I thought (and hoped) the sketch was already finished but at the same time had the feeling that there’s still something missing.
It’s always worth listening to my intuition, because then those lovely little clouds/balloon creatures showed up, which I really fell in love with :)

This is a new stone I made.

A woman with a close connection to a circle, round, ring, orbit or the full moon?

I'll leave the interpretation to you :-)
