Can someone please extend the weekend?! Moalboal has always been a go-to place for a quick dive, island party and a breathe of fresh air away from the busy city.

Here's a short video of the place, the restaurants and just some activities you can do.

Here are my recommended restaurants:

  1. Kugita Seafood and Grill : They have good sushi rolls, fish and porkchop dishes.
  2. Altrove Italian Restaurant: They have good pizza and you can also customize your own. However, some ingredients were missing so we weren't able to try most of the food we wanted.

Finally posted after a long break. Quite overwhelmed because of a lot of changes in my career and personal life. But slowly adjusting and hopefully see more of each other here again.

Keep safe! #proofoflife haha

Last 1st of May, a sunday and Labor day, we decided to pass the newly opened Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway bridge that connects the island Lapu-Lapu City to the Northern part of Cebu City.

A 1 hour 30 mins ride was cut short to just 10mins.! For 3.4 USD , we were able to save so much time, gas and energy from traffic and long drive.

They started this project last 2018 and opened April 30, 2022. We were all excited to check it out! Super smooth ride and a beautiful view of my hometown.

All the information are posted on the video. Thanks in advance for watching and hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hey guys!

Wearing my Speech therapist hat for this video. I know I can be so random with my contents but thank you still for upvoting, supporting everything that I show you. hahah

Anyway, I got my order today and was so excited to check the mini toys and learning set that I bought. So I thought of making an unboxing video and showing you some of the things

that we use for speech therapy with kids. As a Speech therapist, toys and our voice are pretty much what we need to carry out our goals, so we usually take time to either make or buy

these toys/materials to keep our kids interested for class. Sometimes they wouldn't like the toy, sometimes they'll love it! So it really depends, that is why we have various toys available for them, the more interesting it looks and how you use it, the better to be able to get their attention and engagement!

Mini objects is popular for therapy because kids enjoy manipulating it, it is also pretty convenient to store and you can literally put it anywhere like inside easter eggs, inside a toy house, in a sensory box. I saw these toys from a fellow therapist so I tried to look it up online and viola! It wasn't that expensive so I decided to buy my own learning sets.

I can use these to target a lot of skills such as labelling, categorizing, answering WH- Questions, following commands, making sentences, describing scenes, articulating words and many more!

I preferred to order this online since I don't have a laminator. But we can easily download those picture scenes and edit/format what we want to target in vellum paper and laminate it to make it last long. Then you can try to find those mini objects online or at the toy shops. Simple DIY but surely your kids will love it!

What I like about my profession is that I can go back to being a kid for work!! hahaha

Anyway, just me in the video getting excited with all these mini objects. Thank you for watching!

PS. If you noticed my nails, that's hair dye. hahaha

Hey there mermaids!

Bringing you another freediving video when I went to Moalboal with the fellow mermaids @indayclara and @ybanezkim26 .

I wish I can find time to practice more as this was such an exciting activity to do. There's so much more to see in the underwater world and I cannot wait to add freediving as another activity when I can travel to different countries or other islands in the Philippines.

I've been to Palawan 2 years ago and that time I didn't know how to freedive yet. So I missed the opportunity to see the shipwrecks and the rich marine world there. I wish to come back soon and make the most of my trip by freediving in their crystal clear water.

Despite the many jellyfish stings and scars that I got now, it was definitely worth it! Although I might probably wear tights next time cause my dad got mad at me for the marks on my legs. ooppss haha

Hope to join with other hivers who are freedivers soon for a meet up! I think that would be fun. Chilling and freediving!

Sea you next time!!

Guess what?! This is my first post on the @freediving community!!! Wohooo!

Last April, I celebrated my birthday by doing an introduction course to freediving. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the training because I injured my right ear on my first attempt to duck dive. lol I only got to do the line training and after many attempts, was able to stay 6 meters underwater for around 15 seconds once! HAAHA but obviously I was panicking already trying to go back up for air.

After that, I wasn't able to practice anymore. Well, there were times where I'd go for island hopping but as I try to freedive, I really can't remember how to do it anymore. hahha

On the last week of November, I went to Moalboal with @indayclara and @ybanezkim26 . This part of Cebu is a go to place of freedivers and scuba divers because of the rich marine world. They are both into freediving and I have seen their amazing videos posted in the freediving community. As we went in the middle of the ocean to start shooting clips, I was so jealous at how good they were, then I got anxious when they said it was my turn. hahaha

They both took time to teach me again and viola! I was able to do a couple of dives for atleast 15-20 seconds underwater! So grateful for their patience and for pressuring me, jokes, for pushing me to my limits. hahaha

It's so nice I swear! The videos weren't that clear tho because of the low visibility but bruhhhh, you should go there and try it!

Join the club! The underwater world is so exciting and fascinating!

Thanks for watching!

Hello Hivers!

@ybanezkim26 , @indayclara and I went to Moalboal which is located at the south of Cebu, Philippines.

We decided to visit this dog rescue shelter to see what we can do to help them. As an end of the year celebration for 2021, we wanted to do a fundraising drive where all rewards from our posts will be donated to the shelter.

We plan to be back there as soon as we can within this month so we can hand the donations just in time for Christmas. We will surely keep you updated and show you what we were able to give to the shelter.

We hope to get your support in this activity and let us know your thoughts.

Thank you and happy end of the year. Wishing a better year to everyone this coming 2022!

Visayas Art Fair 2021: Connecting the islands through art

Last November 25, 2021 they launched Visayas biggest art fair at Montebello Villa Hotel in Cebu City. It was a 3-day event showcasing artworks from different artists and exhibitors in the Philippines, mostly in the Visayas region.

There was art auction which was called "ArTabang" which is a combination of the words "Art" + "Tabang" (Tabang is the cebuano word for help) and it aims to raise funds for art organizations and other charity projects. There were different programs and activities during the event such as painting competition, art forums, fashion show, nude painting, acoustic band, and more!

Tickets were really affordable and can easily be bought online, it costs 100php or ~2 USD for adults and 50php or ~1USD for students for one day access and if you buy the 3-day access they offer discounted rates. They were open for vaccinated and unvaccinated guests but unvaccinated guests had to take the COVID test. They also put a limit to the number of people to keep everyone safe and observe health protocols. They had a digital catalog where we can check the program for each day, the organizers of the event, the featured artists and speakers.

I was so ecstatic! Everything was so beautiful. It really makes me jealous how people can be so creative and talented. There were so many paintings that were my kind of style and I will show you my favorites in another blog soon!

I had a good time with my friends who were also interested in arts. and Oh! I was also with @pamilyaabilla ! We went around the art exhibit, had dinner together and some drinks after the event. I look forward to the next art fair!!!

Go check out the video! See you in the next one!

I didn't put music on purpose so you can hear how it was like during the event :)

Hey Hivers! I am taking you to another instagrammable, chillaxing, peaceful place in Cebu!

We had our teambuilding activity and early Christmas party with our co-therapists at Therachieve, which is a private clinic offering Speech, Occupational, Physical Therapy and SPED Tutorials.

We do this annual activity to celebrate our profession, get to know each other especially the new ones, take a break and have fun!

This place is called Wooloo, which is fairly new and has been viral on the social media, as well as Tiktok, for its beautiful landscape, architecture and amazing view! Check it out on pinmapple! [//]:# (!pinmapple 10.427738 lat 123.940235 long d3scr)

We were so thrilled to know that our admin booked this place! It was pretty big and private (as of now since its still one available hut, but I think they are making another one beside it.)

It is also accessible as it is not that far from the city. We were so happy knowing we don't have to travel too far to get a breath of fresh air.

They are eco-friendly as everything in the house, well including our utensils were made of wood. Electricity is solar powered as well, and because of that, there is no airconditioner. hahaha

Actually they have one in the room, but we couldn't use it. It was kind of hot during the early afternoon, but it started to get cool and windy after 5pm.

We booked the place overnight which can accommodate up to 6-10 people! Overnight would cost around 160 USD for 6 people on a weekend and 120 USD on weekdays. Additional rates apply for extra people but its still very affordable, only 11 USD. We wanted to take advantage while it's still affordable, I'm pretty sure they would increase it's price soon as they expand.

Inside this huge modern "BAHAY KUBO" or Nipa Hut, which is a stilt house, you'd have tabletop pool and football, beds with super soft pillows, a telescope to spy on people haha jokes! I mean to look at the view, a water dispenser and a mini fridge.

There is a pool that was pretty cold (for me. lol i have low tolerance of cold temp) but I still went in for a quick dip in the morning. Beside the pool is the shower area which seemed like a maze. I always dreamed of having an outdoor shower in my house someday just like this one! Def saving it as future reference. Then there is also a kitchen, but we didn't use it. All our food and drinks were ordered in the Nanda Cafe which is right next to us. A lot of people go in that cafe in the late afternoon til night.

On the next day before we checked out, we went to the peak which was really serene and relaxing. My eyes really loved looking at the green color of nature. It's so refreshing and calming, like a vitamin for my eyes before I leave and expose it to concrete environment again lol.

Definitely coming back here with my family soon when I save enough funds to treat them. hahah All that you can expect in the place, I covered in the video. So go check it out!

Hey guys!

How's your week going? Hope all is well!

2 weeks ago, one of my besties invited us to celebrate her birthday with her in any place that we want.

So we decided to take her to romantic restaurants in Cebu for dinner and for some desserts.

First, we went to Acacia Steak House ([//]:# (!pinmapple 10.323688 lat 123.891804 long d3scr)) and boyyy it was a busy weekend night there! It was a shock actually, soo many people celebrated their birthdays as well. Good thing we had a reservation, or else, we would be waiting for more than an hour. So if you plan to go there, have a reservation or go there on weekdays. We ordered Steak and Marrow (Hanger's steak with roasted veal bone marrow) which costs around 13 USD. I loveeee Marrow with some salt or gravyy then rice!! Anyone relates? hahaha So we all just ordered the same thing, except the birthday celebrant. She had Black pepper steak (Pepper crusted Hanger's steak with black pepper sauce) that costs around 11 USD. On a quiet night, couples usually go there for romantic dinner dates. I'm not really a big fan of steak, hahha , but their steak is affordable and good!

After dinner, we had some cakes for the birthday girl at Circa 1900: [//]:# (!pinmapple 10.327294 lat 123.900466 long d3scr)which is also considered to be a go to place for couples who want a serene and quiet date. They have a big area which you can rent usually for wedding reception. We ordered different slices of cakes to try - cheesecake, chocolate cake, carrot cake. I liked their cheesecakes and carrot cake, their chocolate cake was just okay, the usual taste and texture you'd find anywhere. We talked, took pictures and walked around the place.

It was a good night.

Thanks for watching the video! I'll find you more places to go :)

Congratulations to the newly wed @pamilyaabilla (https://peakd.com/myhiveintro/@pamilyaabilla/we-are-pamilya-abilla-our-family-big-adventures) who recently joined Hive to share their family adventures with their adorable daughter.

Stephanie is one of my bestest friend and is the first in our group to get married! We were so thrilled when we found out that they will finally tie the knot. We only wish Steph and Don love, happiness and lots of patience to understand each other and help each other have a happy family life with Cora, because Cora deserves to have the best life as well.

They had an intimate celebration with selected guests only, family and close friends. After the civil ceremony in the morning, we went to the reception which was also a surprise party for the couple.

During the program, the couple had their first dance. Stephanie sang while they danced. I'm not sure if this is also practiced in other countries, but in the Philippines, during the couple's first dance, guests would hang paper bills in the bride's gown or groom's suit to bless them financially in their new phase in life. After the dance, we had our lunch while being serenaded by a guest performer. Then the emcee prepared a few games such as riddles, bring me, dance contests where we can win a bottle of wine. Competitive as I am, I won 3 bottles of wine! lol we had a great time. hhaha

After the games, was picture taking, more dancing and finally, thank you speeches from the newly wed. Oh I inserted my short video of when I catched the bride's bouquet cause I can't wait to get married also. WAHAHA just kidding.

After the reception, we then had some more snacks and drinks in a restaurant nearby. Talking with the close friends and the couple about random things in life. Surprised how time is so fast, can't believe we are in this phase already. Friends building their own families, change in priorities and facing more adult responsibilities.

Congrats again Hivers Pamilya Abilla! Wishing all the best! <3

To support them, please upvote, follow and check out their vlogs/blogs. Thank you!

We celebrated the first Doggo Halloween Party with our friends who are dog parents.

We went to my friend's beach house which I also featured in my video before the beach day out with the dogs.

We all contributed to the food and drinks. The dogs wore costumes and had their doggy treat cupcakes. We had poker, played charades guessing different words related to halloween, watched a horror movie The Nun, played other minute-to-win-it games, and did night swimming too.

We had such a good time and we plan to have more dog events soon. I guess that's how it will be since we are getting older. hahah Treating our dogs like babies.

What did you do on Halloween?

Thanks for watching my videos!

Hello everyone!

Do you know any Speech-Language Pathologist? or are you one? Maybe you can relate to my video.

I talked about the things I like about my profession and the challenges I encountered.

I'm sure we all have our love-hate relationship with our chosen career. I mean don't really want to call it "hate" maybe

love-and-challenging relationship haha

I hope to give more insights about my profession to raise awareness and encourage people to explore this field.

In the Philippines, this career is not that known yet and usually people would only know about it if they have a family member who needs our services.

Just a disclaimer, that everything I shared in this video is within the context of working in the Philippines and my personal experience. As I have heard, it is quite different how SLPs work overseas, in terms of caseload and clientele.

If you have questions about this career, feel free to message me.

Let me know your thoughts if you can relate. :)

Thanks for watching! Keep safe!

Bowling night with the gang! Join us for another wholesome activity!

Some entertainment/recreation activities starting to re-open after the modified enhanced quarantine situation here in Cebu last September.

It's been awhile since we've gone bowling. Clearly shows how bad we play at it but its the fun that matters and the exercise that goes with it from carrying and throwing those heavy bowling balls. hahah

We girls had 2 games while the boys played kinda fast and did 3 games. They had snack bar there and can also play billiards/pool.

One game per person is 2 USD and we had to also rent bowling shoes which is just 0.7USD. Also, have to remember to bring socks so you don't have to buy one.

During the afternoon it was kind of crowded because there were a group of players there. We met up in the evening at 6 and we had the place almost all to ourselves.

Hmmmm, what to try next? :)

I posted a video last time about my experience in studying chinese in Taiwan, you can see it on my blog. I got some messages on my fb page Chill with Shanna regarding the application process, so I decided to make a video about what I know.

If you are from the Philippines and curious how to go about studying in Taiwan to study their language, I made a video presentation about the things you have to check and the requirements you have to collect and submit to each university and embassy/council.

My visit to Taiwan was pre-pandemic so I can't really tell about the current situation and process. But hopefully you still find value from the websites that I will show you. If you have other questions feel free to comment or message me.

Thank you so much for watching!

Taking you to a fun day at the beach [//]:# (!pinmapple 10.258536 lat 123.982584 long d3scr) in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu with my friends and their babies/spoiled doggies!

Yep, they are spoiled because they really plan out dog day outs with them, going to the beach, going to cafes, going to outdoor parks.

They invited me too but I was not able to bring my dog because of transportation and my dog is kind of anti-social like her owner. hahah

They brought pizza, chicken wings and drinks! Fave for the boys was beer while for the girls mule!

What a perfect combo for the beach right?! We were blessed with a beautiful and sunny day anticipating the upcoming rainy season here in the Philippines. So we indeed took our time and enjoyed the sun.

We did some tiktok dances, playing fetch with the dogs, swimming, playing with nerf gun, lifetalks, and photoshoot! !

Let's chill at the beach!

Me and my bestfriend did another zoom workout and now trying out HIIT or high-intensity interval training.

HIIT is a combination of brief, very-high intensity bursts of cardio exercise followed by equal or longer periods of rest. (https://time.com/4893161/hiit-high-intensity-interval-training-exercise/). Although for Pamela Reif there wasn't room for rest haha

Some benefits of HIIT includes: can burn calories faster, increases metabolic rate after the exercise, increases muscle mass, improves oxygen consumption and endurance and reduces blood pressure.

My friends and I tries to explore different fitness enthusiasts on youtube and see which workout routine we like, the music, the energy, the filming and the way they deliver or speak.

Pamela Reif is one of the fitness youtuber that we follow for workout routines. She is so powerful and we just really don't know where she gets her energy and endurance! She literally doesn't sweat and she remains the same level and composure all throughout which makes us really motivated to be like her too! Well someday. hahhaha Her videos also have good music in it! Makes you pumped up to workout. She also doesn't talk on the videos which we prefer so we can just get straight to the workout and focus on the exercises.

You might want to try this out! Just a few minutes in and we can already feel the burn! Let's be safe, healthy and get our bodies moving!

Celebrating my cousin's 18th Birthday at Solea Palm Resort! [//]:# (!pinmapple 10.255483 lat 123.959449 long d3scr)

Let me show you around the resort and see if you like it!

It is located in Cordova, Cebu, Philippines. It is nice for family trips and kids will surely love it there because they huge swimming pools. They also have a waterpark but it is still close.

So if you have kids with you, inquire about the waterpark too.

Rooms were on a discount when my auntie booked it. Regular room rate is around 60-115 USD with free breakfast.

Would recommend you to check this resort out when you plan to stay in Lapu-lapu City, Cebu!

If you have questions, let me know.

Until the next tour!
