For today's End of Time episode, we have on Tramel Raggs, sports journalist for The Washington Post -- aka "Mr. Raggs No Riches". On today's episode we get a look into Tramel's journey as a writer/sports reporter during his studies at Mizzou, his transition into working for The Post, and what it's like [for him] being a sports reporter for one of the most renown newspapers in the world. We discuss the grind and fast-paced atmosphere in the sports reporting world, the process of breaking news, and how building relationships can help foster further stories that wouldn't have came about conventionally. Furthermore, we dug into NBA talk; with conversations about the Wizards, the NBA "system", development of young players/College/High School athletes, current NBA player ceiling evals (ex: D-Lo, Lonzo, Dinwiddie), and the new incoming NBA rookies (Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, etc.) & the importance of being "NBA Ready". We discuss his experience playing for DC United's Youth Team and his experience adjusting to professional football after playing for William Mary's Football Team. We further discuss his experience getting to play alongside English Football legend, Wayne Rooney - during Rooney's tenure with DC United. Further more we discuss about the adjustment of life as a professional athlete, the system or machine that is the world of professional football, and more. On todays episode we discuss the "exposure scare" I had with Wizop as I thought I had gave him Covid, due to thinking the illness was Food Poisoning related. We discuss shit ranging from shooting guns, life, a little bit of fish talk, Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder, NBA/NFL, Jon Jones, comedy / podcast scene, and more. On today’s episode of End of Time, we have a very rare interview w/ musician Amal; live outside Eaton DC. Amal is a MD/DC native and recently has been killing things; coming off his own tour, moving to New York, and also being recently featured in the Washington Post for the release of his EP titled “gleam” on his HOCHIRUNS label (available everywhere). We sat down and discussed the upbringings of HOCHIRUNS and what HOCHI means to him and the HOCHI vision/lifestyle. We also get into Amal’s background as a producer/DJ as he came into his own as an artist and the journey along the way. Amal breaks down his experiences from growing up in MD/DC, studying at Howard University, and interning w/ Sony Pictures for sound design on movies such as Dunkirk, Jumanji, & Blade Runner; and how all this ultimately lead to him dropping out and doubling-down on himself as an artist. We get into his journey coming into himself amidst a pandemic; from having his music played around the world while working a medial day job to further touring w/ Black Kray, Doing shows w/ Lil Tracy, The Khan, WifiGawd, & more, as well as, the change in school of thought amongst producers, the trends that have came and left the DMV, and being a part of the “Plug” beat scene early, experiences engineering in the city, and sound design. We discuss the re-emergence of electronic music, Y2K trends, Drum and Bass, and his involvement in this electronic music resurgence. — And much more that I honestly probably forgot to include. For our guest on this episode of the End of Time podcast we have one of my good friends, Mikey Parton (@MikeyParton on twitter). We catch up on Mikey’s Big Move out west to LA as he strives towards his goals as a comedian/actor and unite with his partner who currently studies fashion design in LA. Recently, Mikey was hospitalized because of smoking vaporizers causing lung damage and he gives us a chance to speak on what happened. We discuss his plans for Los Angeles, importance of mental health, relationships, male masculinity, and the stigma behind therapy in today’s society. Furthermore, we also dive a lil into Week 1 Football. Mikey is a dedicated DC sports fan and on this episode we get into some good ol’ WFT (Washington Football Team), baseball and sports betting talk. Recently Coach Wave has gotten into managing his own camp of artists including Blasé Lux, Naomi Janae, & Mel Hines under Green Island. From his camp, Blasé Lux has released his debut EP "The Escape Theory" along with Naomi Janae's "Hell Is for Lovers" EP. Our guest speaks to us on the experience of putting together these projects as well as his growth as a producer in the music industry. Coach Wave also speaks on working with Deem Spencer on production for Deem's latest project titled "Deem's Tape".
