In this episode, I speak with Dr. K Ratna - Secretary of the Dr. KV Rao Scientific Society, Hyderabad - on her continuing efforts to empower students with a love for science.
The Society was formed in 2001 with a view to promoting and popularising science among students. It was formed in the memory of Late Dr. KV Rao who had retired as Superintending Chemist of Geological Survey of India.
The passion of Dr. KV Rao by taking part actively in promotion of young scientists has been instrumental in bringing about this Society to promote scientific temper by making learning of science experiential and thereby encourage school students and young scientists to pursue a career in science.

Himani Bundela recently shot to fame with her spirited appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati (2021). Her presence on the show, brimming with positivity and joy, was a treat to watch. She did go on to win Rs.1 Crore; the first visually-impaired contestant on the show to do so. As the country celebrated her much-deserved victory, I was drawn to the gems of wisdom in her conversation and the vision she has for the differently-abled population of India. Her confidence, courage and never-say-die attitude is an inspiration. Hear our conversation about her experience after losing her eyesight, her journey to KBC success, her mental mathematics and her pursuit of disability inclusion & a barrier-free life in society.

Teaching, for Mr.Gurwara, began in 1969 as a passion. Emerging from humble beginnings in Jhansi, he followed his inner voice across the country before settling down in Hyderabad and starting his own school in 1984. Today, over five decades later, having educated hundreds of thousands of students, teaching for him is beyond being a passion or dare I say, even an obsession. It is his singular way of life... a life he continues to dedicate to building future generations of the country and the world. As he turns 75 this week (15th Sept), I talk to him about his own journey through the world of education. Did I mention he is my father?

To be able to spend a life from childhood to adulthood alongside my teacher has been a privilege and a blessing. Irvinder Ma'am is my first teacher, ever. Someone who taught me how to talk. She helped lay the foundation for my career as a Public Speaker and an Entertainment & Communications Professional. More than that, I have shared a beautiful friendship with her over the course of my life. There was no doubt in my mind that she would be the first guest on my podcast. She has dedicated her life to the education.
