My guest today, Serena Girardi, is a pediatric sleep consultant with a love for babies and supporting new parents. She has a two-year background in nursing and now works alongside parents to set healthy sleep foundations for their newborns and helps correct poorly developed sleep habits when necessary for children above 3 months. She also helps parents gain some predictability in what can become chaotic days with their children and offers advice and support when it comes to age-specific milestones like regressions, solid introduction, as well as things that can throw little ones off like traveling, daylight savings, teething and/or adding another member to the family. Nothing is more exciting than bringing your newborn baby home. They seem to sleep so well in the hospital before you go home, and after a couple days you bring them home and it is like they woke up and smelled the coffee! They do not need to be on a schedule right away because their internal clock is not yet developed, but sleep is so important for their growth and development

Sounds easy right? Not so much! Please join me and Serena as we talk through the most common questions parents have when it comes to their sleepy or not so sleepy infant!

Children have a “Trust Radar”, which means they can pick up on clues and tells when it comes to you being honest with them.Telling children the truth - and modeling this behavior - helps build trust, respect, emotional regulation, information processing, and builds relationships. Being honest expands their world view outside themselves.

Unfortunately bad things happen in life. It is important to help children gain the understanding and skills they need to weather a loved one’s illness, or even their passing.
