Malvin Massey Jr., co-host of Riffin' on Jazz and former General Manager of WUMR-U92FM, one of America's best Jazz radio stations, has passed.Malvin (whom I called M&M) and I have been friends for nearly sixty (60) years since we met in 7th grade at Memphis' Corry Jr. High. We learned to play sax together and actively competed against each other to be the best. Our paths parted after high school, but we were friends from afar, proudly rooting for each other whether across town or across the country. Then came Riffin' on Jazz and the rest as they say "is history." M&M and I discussed how blessed we both have been to: 1) Have lives and careers doing what we love. 2) Marry wonderful and talented wives. 3) Reconnect and together produce the phenomenal, global brand that is Riffin on Jazz.M&M is my friend.
