After several weeks of life getting insanely busy, we are back with a new episode of the Micah study! I hope you are blessed and challenged by it!
I recently reread one of my favorite books, Screwtape Letters, and it was so cool seeing things that I hadn't noticed the first time I read the book. What are some takeaways from the book that you have applied to your life?
This week, we wrap up our study of chapter 5 in Micah! It is hard to believe that we've almost finished our study! What has stood out to you during our study?
We're back! This week, we are studying Micah 5:1-6 and I LOVED studying these verses. I know I've been promising new videos this summer, but a dead microphone has stood in my way! Now that the issue is fixed, I'm excited to continue sharing what the Lord is teaching me in this season!
Welcome to the "hot mess express" where my routines fall apart during summer break! Nonetheless, Jesus is good and we have the freedom to study His word together on this July 4th! I pray you are blessed by this week's Micah study!
In this week's video, we are looking at Micah 4:1-5. We're also seeing how in these five verses Micah outlines how obedience to God's law brings freedom FROM ignorance, war, want, and fear. Also, do you notice anything different at the beginning of the video?
In Micah 3, there is a verse where the false prophets are said to "lean on the Lord" and then prophecy falsely and reject the words of the Lord.
This naturally, leads me to ask several different questions:

How can one "lean on the Lord" and yet speak words so contrary to the very Word of God?

What else does Scripture say about having a false assurance? How can one know if they have a false assurance before it is too late?

What does a true assurance of salvation look like?
While some of these questions may seem pretty simplistic to the mature believer, it seems that Scripture warns us that someone can define themselves as a mature believer and still have a false assurance.
And if we take a look at our modern culture and modern Christianity who elevates questions rather than the answers found in Scripture, it is easier to point to others we think have a "false assurance" than it is to examine our own hearts.
This is my goal for the whole entire Micah study. Yes, I want you to be able to spot a false Gospel and bad doctrine easily. But, more importantly, I want you (and me!!) to spot the sin in our own hearts and repent. This study has been slowly transforming my thought processes and my day-to-day life. My faith and trust in Christ and His Word is only strengthened by deeper study, not shaken.
This week, we will examine Micah 3:9-12 and talk about assurance of salvation.
After several weeks of looking at Micah calling out all the false prophets and corrupted leaders, we get a one verse glimpse into what a true prophet looks like: being filled with the Holy Spirit. Why is it important that we are filled with the Holy Spirit?
P.S. I don't know why the audio went all weird for a bit there towards the end... Still trying to figure that one out!
We're continuing our verse-by-verse study of Micah and looking at chapter 3. We'll also be examining some verses from the New Testament and examining how this applies to us and our current study.
We're back! After a crazy and crazy tough couple of weeks, we are back in our Micah study! Things get a little fired up and emotional in this video. Nothing is better than studying the Word of God and the Lord using His Word to encourage, challenge, and sanctify!
This week, we are looking at how the religious leaders of the day were working hand-in-hand with the greedy rulers discussed in 2:1-5.
Is it loving or confrontational to share the Gospel? Is our main concern as Christians to be to love God or love others? What is our priority supposed to be? We talk about all this and more while examining what the Bible says in today's episode.
We're back in to our Micah study and looking at the first part of chapter 2. We'll also be looking at Luke 12, and examining the heart, not just the action, behind greed.

Hello, everyone! This week we are looking at the cry and prayer of Micah's heart as he leads and preaches for years and years. We are studying verses 8 through 16 of chapter 1. The examination of this section of verses is going to be in 2 parts: "The Heart of a Leader" and "What's in a Name?"
