New startups in the audio space. With SoundStack a number of companies join forces to create a audio-as-a-service (AaaS) company (interesting choice of words) and with Lollipod Philipp Gloeckler just launched a audio ads marketplace just a few weeks after announcing the end of Yo Cast, a mobile recording tool. Both businesses do not seem to do something new but it's going to be interesting to see if they do it better.

Podcasting is dead! At least if we look at the numbers. Listen Notes has released some interesting numbers about new podcast shows being created and it shows that in 2022 that number has dropped drastically. But do not worry podcast industry. The Cumulus Media 2022 Audioscape report is out. Most findings continue to show the rising relevance of podcasts and smart speakers. It also makes clear that Spotify is the dominant force in podcasting and most likely will be for the coming years. The report also shows the potential for podcasting in the 50+ demographic and the popularity of audio amongst the young age group (18 - 35). Especially the second group of people should have companies really re-evaluate their corporate podcasting efforts especially for employer branding (B2C) and employer engagement (B2E) purposes.
