America! The country where everyone can become a multi-billionaire - especially if your parents owned emerald mines in South Africa.

Anyway, on an unrelated note, we're going to talk about Elon Musk, particularly the Elon Musk that's been revealed in a new article by Ronan Farrow in the New Yorker. Let's do a case study on one of the world's most eccentric and dumbass billionaires so we can dispel the notion of billionaires being better then us and worth the money they have.

I'm back baby!

Some good news - Montana courts have ruled that the youth have a constitutional right to a clean environment and that Montana 's oil drilling and gas subsidies violate that right. But is this strategy of using the courts to fight climate change viable? Should we all just take a note from that "How to Blow Up a Pipeline" book and subsequent movie? Let's talk about the practical effects of using lawfare as a technique for revolution, the pitfalls of that strategy, and the alternatives.

A spectre is haunting America - the spectre of the general strike. All powers of 'Murica have entered into an unholy alliance to exercise this spectre: Hollywood execs and railroad barons, mainstream media outlets and UPS executives, dumb rich fucks and even dumber, richer, fuckers. A CEO of a social media company who buys a bird app, tanks its profitability, then asks you to measure his dick live on camera because he's an alpha male who fucks (but he can't fight another billionaire because his mommy says so).

Where is the party in opposition that has not been decried as communistic (and like, totally freaking SICK) by its opponents on power? Where is the opposition that has not hurled back the branding reproach of communism, against the more advanced opposition parties, as well as against its reactionary adversaries?

Baby, maybe it's right here at the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites). This week, we're talking about the possibility of a general strike, how it might work, and how we can use this moment of heightened labor activism to capitalize on owning the capitalists.

Let's talk plans, strategies, and how to make sure everyone knows just how badly Capitalist booty STANK.

Good evening, (working) class. Welcome to "Media Literacy 101." In this course, we will be discussing how you should read the news, how you can determine what sources to trust, and how you can recognize when a narrative is being pushed on you. This will be a multipart series, but hopefully, by the end of it, you'll be better equipped to stop propaganda in its tracks.

In today's class, we'll be going over the connection between advertisements and the authentic self, and what you can learn the interaction between the two. We will then take a few moments to examine how the interplay between these two A-words can be used to help us understand the propaganda model which we discussed during last class.

Who are you? Let me tell you, this week, on the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites)

Today, my fellow Americans, we are saved. Our beautiful, progressive, and articulate leader has announced that he will be running for reelection. He will end the war in Ukraine, create a federal jobs guarantee, and pass universal healthcare all before his nap time. He will wow you by remembering his own name (occasionally). And he WILL fuck your grandma.Bow down to your liberation. Bow down to the most pro-working class president EVER. Bow down and kiss the saggy yet meaty balls of America's daddy. On this week's episode of the FredHamptonInn(and Suites), we celebrate the presidency of Joe Byron thus far and try to figure out why we ran out of other options. Americans love to work, right? And we fucking HATE kids. Those little pieces of shit play vidya games all day, eat up all the Cheetos (R) in the house, and they pee in the sink. And most anoying of all is that their stupid little brains haven't even finished developing yet, so they still have "dreams" about how they want their lives to turn out. Why can't their dreams be crushed, like the rest of ours? Why can't these little shits learn about what it takes to put in a hard day's work, like the rest of us? Well listeners, you're in luck. Our big, capitalist Daddy has heard your pleas and is lobbying for a national campaign with the slogan: "fuck them kids." Goodbye child labor laws, hello childhood trauma! On today's episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we're discussing the nationwide rollback of child labor laws, what caused them, and where we expect to go from here.Download the Callin app for iOS and Android to listen to this podcast live, call in, and more! Good evening, class. Now I know that you were all expecting a typical episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), one where we talk about how socialism is good, capitalism is bad, and communism is gay (in space). But I figured that we could do that next week, like always. This week, let me use my law degree for just one tinsey wittle moment and try to talk about the charges Trump is facing. Is there any there there? Is it a good idea to indict him for this, or for anything? Are you an alpha male who's tired of all the liberal CUCKS out there who are talking about all that gay shit? Are you a man of the West who totally would have been a Spartan warrior in a past era, even though, in our current era, you're a max level prestige warlock in World of Warcraft? Do you believe in Judo-Christian values like restricting speech, killing heretics, and getting that bussy (but secretly, so no one knows you're gay)?If you're a broke bitch and a dummy devoid of morals who can't stop moralizing every issue, boy have I got a gig for you!The project is called "right winged grifting." Here's how it works: you start a YouTube channel where you get maybe... I dunno, a couple thousand or hundred thousand subscribers. Don't worry about your view counts - we don't care. We only care that you get online and repeat our talking points and a bunch of other stupid right-winged bullshit which isn't backed up by ANY evidence. No need to fact check; you're an "opinion" and "entertainment " channel, so you don't need to worry about legal ramifications for spreading fake news. Just don't call Sandy Hoom a hox, and we'll make sure you get paid. How much will we pay you? How about $50 million over the span of 3 years? No catch. I promise. You just promise us that you'll continue to put out the bullshit. Why will we pay you this much when you're obviously not worth it? Oh, well we need these messages to be in the ether. We need people like you to put out divisive and misleading information so that a percentage of the public is divided, subdued, and malinformed enough to NOT fight against our attempts to eliminate regulations on corporations, attempts at single payer Healthcare, and climate change. You see, we're in this for the long haul. As we weekend and/or infiltrate the restrictions on our power overtime, all while undermining your viewers power in the democratic process, we will slowly but surely establish an insurmountable oligarchy where all of you will be our consumerist slaves. Yay!Why? Because FUCK you that's why.Look, do you want $50 million or not?On this week's episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we're talking about grifters. More specifically Why, we're talking about why do they and why are they so well-funded? Could it be there's a grand conspiracy to mislead the public?Yes. Of course yes. I have a dream... that one day, we will all be CEOs, billionaires, and capitalists. I have a dream that each of us will sport Gucci sweaters and Rolex watches. That one day, each of us will truly be keeping up with them Kardashians. As we celebrate Martin Luther King day, it's important for us to remember that he hated critical race theory, was a staunch supporter of capitalism, and definitely wasn't murdered by the F.B.I.America is really, really good at obfuscating its history and rebranding radical politics to fit a corporatist, inperialist agenda. We see them create memorials and erect statues of MLK, but our history books often fail to mention that Dr. King was a radical anti-imperialist, an opponent of the Vietnam War, and a longtime socialist whose socialist beliefs grew increasingly more radical throughout his lifetime. On this episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we're talking about the true King - the 👑 King King 👑 who capitalists don't want you to remember.Download the Callin app for iOS and Android to listen to this podcast live, call in, and more! You're a revolutionary, right? As a revolutionary, we can assume that you have good taste in art as well as politics. And as a revolutionary against capitalism, we can also assume that when it comes to a lot of modern art, you see little more than empty attempts aimed to achieve massive commercial success. There's often a gap between "art" that sells and art that moves, and art that moves the revolutionary and cultivates the revolutionary spirit is rarer still. All that being said, if you only pay attention to the most commercially successful art, you're bound to miss that "good good" you need to feel that fire. But every once in a while, that good good sneaks into the mainstream and speaks directly to the heart. On this week's episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we're talking about what I believe is one of the greatest albums of all time: D'Angelo's "Black Messiah." Released after a 14-year hiatus from music which found D'Angelo struggling with substance abuse, failing familial relatiomships, and depression, "Black Messiah" burst onto the scene to show us what can be achieved when one channels their pain, and the pains of the people, into a work of pure, unfettered, creattion. To put it another way, this album fucking SLAPS.Let's talk about art, it's utility, and how the indomitable human urge to create can be cultivated into revolutionary action.Download the Callin app for iOS and Android to listen to this podcast live, call in, and more! On October 8, 2022, at 6:07 a.m. local time, a large explosion rocked the Crimean Bridge. Details are still scant on who created the explosion and how it occurred, but Ukrainian officials seem to be taking credit for it. The explosion has escalated tension between Russia and Ukraine, and that's saying something because Putin was already talking about potentially using tactical nukes - a "just-the-tip" approach to nuclear warfare.

So... how did we get here? Can any of you explain it to me?

On this week's episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we'll attempt to understand what's going on in Ukraine and where we go from here.

Picture this. You're you, and you've just finished a hard-days work of "organizing." You've mobilized the working class, you've set up some mutual aid funds for some needy people, and you've even fed the homeless. You finally arrive back to the single bedroom apartment you lease, exhausted. You shower up, eat a Hungry Man, and plop down into your bed for some much deserved rest.

But all is not as it seems. For you see, there's a monster hiding under your bed. He's been down there this whole time... waiting for you to fall asleep. And when you finally doze off, he's going to sneak out, stand by your bedside, and whisper "viva la revolution" before disappearing back into the darkness, unseen.

This is a true story, and it's happening every single night across millions of American homes.

If Twitter is any indication of our true political landscape, then it's safe to say that there's been a lot of criticism of the professional managerial class lately (the "PMC" for short). Some question whether the PMC can truly support revolutionary change when they benefit from the current system. Are they right? If a PMC member supports the revolution without ever making a sound, are they truly there? Is it still about the 1% versus the 99%, or should we just implode?

Let's discuss the PMC and more on this week's episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites).

Sports! Football! Murica! God, isn't this just the greatest country in the world? Isn't is just... such a privilege to live in the good ol' U-S of chuckin' A? A country with zero poverty, opportunities for all, and football. No, not that gay European football, I'm talking normal, original, American football - where the men are men and the women are underpaid independent contractors with no benefits.

Brett Farve is a God-damned American hero. He's one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time - a bonofide field general with an arm like a canon. He's retired now, but he made hundreds of millions of dollars throwing the pigskin every Sunday (and some Mondays and Thursdays). He's so gawd damned American, he's literally the spokesman for Wrangler jeans. And since you asked, no, I do not think your cock is small - at least not while you're wearing Wranglers.

It is literally impossible to be more American than Brett Farve. The only way he could get anymore American was if he, somehow, defrauded the poor and destitute by stealing millions of government dollars for his own vanity project, and if he committed this fraud with the help of elected governemental officials.

On this week's episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we're talking about the most American man in the world and how his life's antics serves as the perfect microcosm for the rot at the core of our capitalist system. Bring your Wrangler jeans and your pigskin this episode is about to get country.

In almost every swamp, you can find three things: mud, moss, and members of US congress. It turns out that ogres aren't the only thing that love swamps...

America has a bit of a swamp problem. While the two parties can't agree on whether we should lose our minds over a trans swimmer, they can at least agree that they should use their office to profit as much as possible. Members of congress are trading stocks and making record profits. They are doubling their networth annually. And tragically, some of the so-called "progressive" members of congress are the worst culprits.

A wise man named Bruce Lee once said that "water can flow or it can crash." But that guy was related to Robert E. Lee, so he was probably an asshole. Asshole or not, it's hard to look at that quote and not think about how, right now, water is crashing hard in some places and ceasing to flow in others.

Pakistan is experiencing historic, catastrophic flooding. At least one third of the country is underwater. Millions have lost their homes. More than 3 million children are in need of humanitarian assistance.

Meanwhile, in the richest country in the world, even more flooding has left the 150,000+ residents of Jackson, Mississippi without adequate access to drinkable water. Reports today are stating that Mississippi's water pumps are close to restoration, but what kind of damage has already been done?

Hey there. You're really into politics. You got a lot of hot takes. And the takes aren't the only thing that's hot...

BOOM! And just like that, we're making out. And now we're dating. We're spending more time together. We're a couple. We're... oh shit, are we in love? Oh my God, I think we're in love.

It's been a year and we're still in love, holy smokes. Soo... I uhhh... I got you this ring. I mean, I... I mean... will you? You will? Holy fuck you will?!

Two years later huh? Things are... things are good. Most of the time anyways. We've had our issues, but who can blame us? We're planning a wedding during a global pandemic! It's been stressful. I know we've both gotten on each other's nerves, but we're both in this together. We'll pull through. I know we got some rough edges to smooth out with our families, but we'll pull through. There are rumors about.... rumors of a Dark Brandon rising. And after canceling a measly $10,000 worth of student loans for borrowers who earn less than $125,000, everybody is losing their minds. Talking heads on the news are shouting that canceling any student debt is elitists. Countless so-called "populists" are letting their masks slip to show how much helping those in need disgusts them. And a lot of these so-called populist are claiming that their one black friend... sorry, their one working class friend feels betrayed by a policy that will help them directly.

Why do obvious elitists feels so justified in speaking on behalf of the working class? How do these elites keep getting away with making shit up? How can these same elitists keep losing their minds when America does anti-elitist shit?

American pundits, this is your mask-off moment. Let's discuss the hypocrisy of a bunch of elitists calling us elites for trying to make things less elitist.

Also, we'll celebrate the real Fred Hampton's birthday.

Also also, we'll talk about the emerging crisis in Jackson, Mississippi and the lack of running water there, which is insane. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/floods-knock-out-drinking-water-supply-jackson-mississippi-2022-08-30/

With Trump being raided, the passage of the Infrastructure Reduction Act, and pulled reports of billions of dollars worth of weapons to Ukraine being totally unaccounted for, it's time to talk about everyone's favorite subject - men.

That's right fellas, this one's for you. Because you see, I really don't think y'all are doing that well. You're awkward on dates, expendable by society, and you're sad. What could be causing this?

Fellas... what if I told you that you too were victims of the patriarchy?

On today's episode, we're talking about men. Who are they? Why are they like this? And why do they refuse to ask for directions? Let's find out.

Look, you're like me right? We both like three things: cultivating good vibes, collectively owning the means of production, and life-sized pillows of big tiddy anime goth girlfriends. But suppose we finally achieve our communist utopia... does that I can't buy my big tiddy goth girlfriend life-sized anime pillow, because we'll stop using the means of production to make it?

I know, we're all a little communist curious. We just bought our tickets to "Commu-Con 2022", and we're all cosplaying as Karl Marx. We're ready to meet some other cosplayers, have some drinks, and start getting weird. But if I insist on bringing my big tiddie anime goth girlfriend pillow to the post-conference Communist orgy, am I going to kill the vibe?

It has often been said that consumerism, and the production of certain non-essential commodities, are fundamentally inconsistent with Communism. There can be no doubt that the production of needless commodities has contributed to climate change, commodity fetishism, and a host of other capitalist evils. So yes, I want that to change. But I kind of want to change the world while wearing a pair of Jordans. I want to be a communist... but... stuff. I like stuff.

This week on the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we're talking about consumerism and Communism. Are they consistent? Can collective ownership of the means of production coexist with fidget spinners? Do you like my life-sized pillow of my big tiddy anime goth girlfriend?

Let's find out.

On July 25, 2022. in Maskwacis, Alberta Canada, Pope Francis addressed a crowd of Indigenous persons and other onlookers. As the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis had a lot to answer for. Not too long ago, in this same country, the Catholic Church and other Christians ran schools where the forcibly removed Indigenous children from their families and enrolled them in forced education and assimilation schools. In these schools, thousands upon thousands of children were mentally, physically, and sexually, abused, and thousands upon thousands more were killed outright. Those children who survived were stripped of their culture, forced away from their families, and left with the lingering scars from the trauma the Church had imposed on them.

Given this backdrop, Pope Francis had no business addressing this crowd in the first place. But address them he did - in part, at least, to "beg forgiveness for the evil committed by so many Christians against the Indigenous peoples."

But are there some evils that are too aggregious to forgive?

On this week's episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we're talking about the limitations and utility of forgiveness. Topics for discussion will include everything from forgiving comrades, to canceled comedians, to crazed commandos. Who knows, we may even work up enough courage to forgive ourselves for that stuff we did. You know what I'm talking about.

On Saturday, July 9th, 2022, my older sister older sister, her friend, and I went to a magical place called Alpine Valley to witness Run The Jewels and Rage Against the Machine perform. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. It was RATM's first show in nearly a decade, and the opener to their world tour. i was surrounded by 40,000 other people. And folks, them people were pissed.

You know who else is pissed? Liberals. Yes, you heard that correctly. Liberals, the people who said "vote blue no matter who," are now singing a diffetent tune - something along the lines of "let's go Brandon."

Biden's approval ratings are reaching historical lows. Peoples' faith in our institutions have plummeted. 77 percent of respondents to polls think America is on the wrong track.

Let's discuss why this is and whether it means anything will change, this week, on the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites).

Are you ingrained in depressing politics 24/7? Yeah you are. Do you ever feel like you need to take a break? Me too. The problem is, you’re too conscious and intelligent to completely unplug from it all, and you’re too much of a dumb dumb to get all of your enjoyment from reading Marxist theory (like a REAL goddamned AMERICAN). If only there were a way to split the difference
a way to FEEL like you’re doing something without actually having to do anything.

Enter Breadtube / dirtbag leftism / TikTok bimbos. Creators like Hassan Abi and shows like Chapo’s Trap House have provided countless hours of entertainment, and they have no doubt led to a popularization of leftist ideas in certain circles. YouTubers like Natalie Wynn (Contrapoints) have paved the way for a new class of TikTok bimbos (and himbos) who embrace opulence while decrying the evils of capitalism. We’ve seen the tweets, the TikToks, and the insta stories - socialism is making a comeback baby! Socialism is in. Socialism is cool. But is all of this trendiness really helping us get to the promised land? Have we replaced the spectre of Communism with the spectacle of pop-socialism? And, if so, is that a bad thing?

This week, we’re doing some soul searching. Is the popularity and promulgation of pop-socialist propaganda a plus for da people? Can the spectacle of pop-socialism undermine our desire and ability to form a real socialist movement? Did that guy really fuck my mom because he didn’t like my podcast?

Let’s get all up into the guts of this issue on this week’s episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites)

On June 25, 2022, the US Supreme Court issued it's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, overturning the long settled precedent of Roe v. Wade and eliminating the right to access an abortion. The decision overturned decades worth of constitutional analysis, essentially reversing the decisions of prior US Supreme Courts which held that all Americans had a fundamental right to privacy under the US Constitution. Even worse, the concurring opinion, written by Justice Thomas, indicates that gay marriage, consensual same-sex activities, and even access to contraception will be next on the chopping block.

How did we get here? How did we get to the point where 9 unelected justices could determine the fates of millions? How did these justices get final say on what our Constitution means and what the founders intended?

What if I told you that the Supreme Court and it's power of Constitutional interpretation was bullshit? What if I told you that the entire basis for the Supreme Court's authority was a lie? And what if I told you that goblins were real, and they believed in a fiction called "originalism?"

On this week's (emergency) episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we're talking about justices and their claim to Supreme authority. I promise you we'll get back to the fun stuff soon, but sometimes, you got to give the people a judicious review of judicial review itself.

Let's throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Hey there. You're like me, right? We want the same things from life right? Stuff like access to healthcare, guaranteed housing, and more free time? Cool! Let's be friends and organize to make these dreams a reality!

My friends, if only it were that easy. It seems that in a world of cancelation, call-out culture, over-sensitivity, and "wokeness", we can't get anything done. Our political and organizational goals go unmet while we bicker amongst ourselves and tear each other apart from the inside. But how real is this internal turmoil? How much does it contribute to our inability to organize against the corporate machine politics we're accustomed to? And if this inner turmoil is real, how can we fight back against it? Can we build an effective coalition?

This is an open discussion episode on our internal struggles.

On Saturday, June 11, 2022, police stopped a U-Haul truck driving in or around Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Inside of that U-Haul, the police found 31 identically-dressed, grown-ass men dawning white face masks, baseball caps, tan khakis, and blue shirts. The men also bore riot shields and shin guards. Police also found plans within the U-Haul indicating that these 31 Fight Club Project Mayhem cosplayers planned to incite a riot at a gay pride event happening nearby.

These 31 men are believed to be members of the "Parriot Front," a white nationalist and neo-facsit hate group. Given this, I think it's safe to assume that these guys weren't heading to the gay pride event to watch the drag show.

Facism is a fickle thing. Like communism and socialism, it rises in popularity when economic conditions become so unjust and exploitative that it makes people desperate for other answers. Unlike communism and socialism, it is completely devoid of any tangible solution and offers a merely symbolic "solution." That solution? Double down in a false sense of national pride and blame everything on some vague, moral degeneracy conveniently caused by a handful of minorities. Right now, all indications seem to show that America's wanna be fascists have picked their new minorty: the LBGTQs.

Look, I'm going to come out and say it, but I'm worried about the gays. We have a leaked draft opinion overturning Rowe v. Wade which specifically questions the legal foundations for gay marriage and gay sex. We have anti-trans bills and don't say gay laws being passed in multiple states. And now we have self-proclaimed fascists trying to cause a riot at a Pride event. How did we get here? Should we actually be more concerned then we are? By dismissing so much of this anti-gay backlash as a culture war issue, are we creating the grounds for groups like the Patriot Front to grow and flourish?

I don't know, I'm just some guy. But let's talk about it. Because honestly, this feels crazy.

A wise man once asked: “how you wake up in the morning feeling evil?” That same wise man then answered his own question: “trauma.” That man’s name? Albert Einstein. Actually, it was Meek Mill, but you get the point.

Americans are in the midst of a mental health crisis. All indicators show Americans are increasingly more anxious, depressed, and traumatized. And when you exist inside a for-profit healthcare system, mental health treatment ain’t a right, it’s a privilege. A very expensive privilege.

Now you might think that our big free market daddy will swoop in to fill the gaps in coverage. Indeed, services like Better Help offer to make therapists more accessible and affordable. Non-profits like Crisis Text Line provide on-demand support to people struggling with suicidal ideation or actions. Problem solved, right? Right?

Unfortunately, these free market solutions”come with a price tag: harvesting and sharing your data with for-profit, third-party companies. Because your data is valuable, and even your trauma is a product. And seeing as therapy requires vulnerability and discretion, these data sharing practices are a big red flag đŸš©

“How you wake up in the morning feeling evil?” Join us this week as we discuss trauma and the legally dicey field of for-profit online mental health services like Better Help. Also, I promise there will be lots of dumb puns like “Barack Hussein O’Trauma” and dumb rhymes like “my mama’s drama trauma llama wears pajamas.”

So, you're a socialist/communist/leftist/populist/depressed person who just wants things to be better. We know you want your universal healthcare, your universal basic income, and something called "basic human rights." We know you want collective ownership of the means of production, and we know you want an economic model focused on eliminating scarcity and freeing up your time so that you can pursue your passion of drawing Street Fighter futanari hentai, or whatever you're into. We know your policies dude, but here's something we don't know: what does your utopian society actually look like? What. Are. The. Vibes?

We spend a lot of time talking about revolutionizing our policies and not as much time envisioning what our post-revolution society will actually look like. What does our culture look like in a socialist utopia? Will we replace our current national anthem with "WAP" by Meg the Stallion and Cardi B? What does a family look like in our socialist utopia? Is it a nuclear family, or is it your three gay dads taking you to play a game of gay baseball (which is exactly like regular baseball but slightly less gay)? This is literally a question someone asked me, and I did not have an answer.

We define a lot of our positions as alternatives to the current status quo, but in doing so, we both: 1. validate that status quo as the default, natural norm; and 2. fail to provide people with a vision of a meaningful alternative. What is that alternative? is it Star Trek? Please say it's Star Trek. If we want to get to Star Trek, we need to plan out the steps it takes to get there.

This week, we're talking about family values and the socialist culture. Let's see if we can put together a collectivist cultural plan within the span of an approximately 2 hour call.

Imagine this: you’re you, and you’re running for office (trust me, just roll with it). Your best friend is a key member of your staff. You got the best policies, you’re smoking every debate, and you’re killing it in the polls. You’re about two months away from dropping big daddy socialism on our asses, and you couldn’t have done it without the help of this staff member who is totes ma-goates your best friend. You and this friend are super close - you share memes, converse about your dreams, discuss your romantic relationships, and do a bunch of other things which blur the lines between the personal and professional. Now imagine you accidentally confess your attraction to your bestie. How quickly, do you think, will this f**k everything up?

The answer seems to be about two months.

On this week’s episode, we will be discussing Ryan Grimm’s excellent article on the implosion of the Brandy Brooks campaign. It’s a tale of restorative justice gone wrong and whether the left has the capacity to save itself from itself when our human faults hit the fan. It’s a tale about cancel culture and our capacity for reconciliation and redemption. Do our idealist candidates need to be ideal people? We’ll discuss. Meanwhile, the political crooks and corporate goblins will continue running Washington while us leftists stand around pointing at each other like the Spider-man meme.

Politics are dumb, depressing, and absolutely necessary. Everything is pretty dumb, really. A lot of people are really, really mad at each other. Tucker Carlson gets people mad, liberals get people mad, and leftists are mad at each other. How do we even move forward to address our problems if we're all angry and full of existential dread? Maybe we could all see a little more clearly if we had a third eye. ..

Look, I'm pretty high right now, but hear me out. Like, dude, what if we gave everybody some shrooms and put them in a room together to just vibe? Would that shit work? Could access to psychedelics be part of a wider political movement to build community and solidarity?

Magic mushrooms (or "psilocybin") are having a sort of Renaissance era. There are all type of clinical studies out there showing that shrooms can effectively treat depression and make people more open to experiences. These little fungi can make you more of a fun guy.

Wait, what was I talking about? Oh yeah, building community or something. On this episode of the Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites), we'll be talking about vibes, how we cultivate them, and whether we can form a mushroom kingdom by learning a little something from an Italian plumber who grows strong from eating strange mushrooms.

On April 22, 2022, a man named Wynn Bruce set himself on fire outside the U.S. Supreme Court building in an effort to bring attention to the climate crisis. Despite his efforts, few media outlets picked up on the story. But should they have?

We live in the Information Age, which is probably why we’re all dumb as hell. We are told that we have all the world’s information at our fingertips, yet the news outlets tasked with informing us restrict the universe of “newsworthy stories” to a drastically small, and overwhelmingly corporate friendly, universe of news. At the same time, American schools do not teach us media literacy or how to vet our sources, so we end up falling for some dumbass fake stories sometimes. But don’t worry, because now Biden plans on appointing a disinformation czar, Nina Jankowicz, to vet your information for you. Everyone knows that the best way to stay informed is to be spoon-fed information from corporate oligarchs and state propaganda. That way, you can really taste the bullshit!

How do we miss information? How do we navigate through misinformation? And what can we expect from Miss Information? Join me (and possibly my little sister Mo) for a discussion about all of these topics and more, at The Fred Hampton Inn (and Suites).
