Hello, my name is Catherine and I am the creator and franchisor of Popcat’s Music Time Ltd. I am a fully qualified and experienced primary school teacher and I have spent many years teaching from foundation through to year 6. I have continued to tutor primary school children both indivually and in groups since leaving teaching.
I have always been passionate about children learning through music and having fun, and after carefully planning Popcat’s for three years I finally decided to take the plunge of a career change in 2014. The satisfaction of knowing that so many little ones enjoy coming to Popcat’s classes week after week tells me that I made the right career choice.

About Club Hub Event and Awards
The Club Hub Awards are the only national awards for children’s activity providers, with entry by application form only and no voting element. The awards were established in 2019. SO4 E5 - Tamsin Brewis, Water Babies Bucks and Beds and The Children's Alliance
Water Babies, the leading baby swim school in the UK, is proud to sponsor the Club Hub awards, particularly the Family Business Award. “Water Babies is made up of a network of family businesses so it is very dear to me that family businesses are encouraged and helped to succeed as they can change the lives of a whole family” says Tamsin Brewis, who runs the Water Babies in the Buckinghamshire area and who is sponsoring this Award.
“I started my business back in 2004 and I am very proud that we have taught thousands of children to swim, develop a love of water and provided rewarding jobs for my amazing team too; I could not have achieved what we have achieved without my team”..
Water Babies provides lessons throughout Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Bedford, Banbury and surrounding area and can be contacted on 01295 709221 or via the website on waterbabies.co.uk
The Children’s Alliance
The Children’s Alliance is the Water Babies charity. Every child should have the best start in life and the CA aims to make this happen through two main routes:
Firstly, giving every child access to water through grants – this may be swimming lessons, transport to lessons, swim wear, specialist wetsuits, surfing lessons etc – as long as there is a link to water we will consider your grant application. Applications can be made to Tamsin.brewis@childrensalliance.org.uk in April or September.
Secondly we are campaigning for a Department for children and Young People in the Government – Children and young people should be at the centre of decision making – they are the future! Through four working groups concentrating on physical activity, nutrition, mental health and the early years, we are supporting larger campaigns to bring about change eg Free School Meals, Counsellor in every School, the Power of Play. Join us and spread the word – we are an Alliance of like minded people from a wide range of backgrounds and your support will help raise awareness and our voices will be heard.
Join one of our groups or become a supporter and spread the word – email Tamsin.brewis@childrensalliance.org.uk

Fatema Zahra Meghjee, Tots Play Birmingham Central South
"Hello, I’m Fatema and I run classes in the Birmingham area.
Before I joined Tots Play I was working with a company specializing in sensory and educational equipment but having decided it was time to build a future of my own I started to look for the right business opportunity. Having gained experience of the importance of sensory development for babies and toddlers through working closely with children for over 8 years, when I found Tots Play I knew that it was the perfect match for me.
While working closely with nurseries and baby groups as well as my own nephews and nieces, I loved being able to relate play activities to the developmental needs of the children and sharing with parents how they could use these activities and techniques at home to strengthen the bond with their baby. I am looking forward to being able to use this experience and share this wonderful journey of development with even more families through Tots Play.
The Tots Play programme offers an exciting opportunity to experience a fun-filled series of discovery and development, and I am very excited to bring these classes to the Birmingham area.
I can’t wait to share all the wonderful experiences Tots Play brings with you and your bundle of joy, so let’s get ready to massage, yoga, sign, sing and play!
Happy playing
Fatema x"

Kate Paiano - Tiny Travels
"Hi, I’m Kate, mum of two toddlers, avid traveller (before kids!) and passionate about equality and social change.
I have management experience in the travel and the event industry and studied Development Studies & Geography at SOAS (The School of Oriental and African Studies). I have travelled to 120 countries and have worked around the world.
I am always dreaming of future adventures. However, since having two children, travel is at the bottom of the priority list. I would love to take my young children to different countries, but it is not only expensive but also physically and mentally demanding.
After many conversations with other parents of young children, I learnt that we were not the only ones in this predicament. Consequently, I decided to find a way to create experiences for parents to help their young children learn about the world but in a way that is convenient, easy and affordable. I hope to provide a foundation for young children to be inspired to learn about the world so they can grow up to one day experience their favourite countries first hand; and if they have heritage from a different country, I hope to create a space where they can be proud of themselves and their family’s culture."

"I’m Lisa and I’m founder and creator of Spa Babies.
Spa Babies was created on the back of severe anxiety and grief I had suffered during my two maternity leaves with my little boys. Both of my maternity leaves took me to dark places that I really struggled to get out of. So at the end of my final maternity leave I was determined to somehow turn it into a positive. In June 2019 Spa Babies was born.
Our Spa Babies experiences are focused on parents' mental health, where the focus is on the parents, with them leaving feeling relaxed and uplifted as well as creating the most magical memories along the way.
For Babies 0-10 months old it is A moment of Zen in the Chaotic Beginnings of Parenthood "

Anna Coggan, Caterpillar Music Newark
"My name is Anna Coggan and I am the very proud owner of Caterpillar Music Newark. In 2024 I am celebrating my 10th year as a franchisee running fabulous multi sensory music classes for children under 5. Prior to running my business I had been a primary school teacher for 20 years. While I never lost my passion for teaching, I found the pressure of the classroom alongside becoming a parent too much. I now get to enjoy all the fun of my original profession without the extra stress! I began my business with just 6 small classes and now, together with a small team of staff, run 32 sessions a week in community venues, nurseries, schools and care homes. I love what I do and being a part of the incredible Children’s Activities Sector.
Thank you to Tessa and Club Hub for inviting me to share my storyhttp://www.caterpillarmusic.com/class-leaders/anna-coggan"

Hi I’m Krissy,
Over the last 12 years in the Children activity sector, I’ve done it all. I’ve been the director of a London charity, a franchisee, a master franchisee, and a franchisor with a fantastic UK wide network and now a Children’s Activity Business Coach, all whilst being a mother to 2 young ladies.
I’ve worked from the ground up and so I’ve experienced first-hand the highs and the lows of business ownership. I’ve felt the pain of failure and the absolute joy of success. I’ve worked with the best and the worst but throughout it all I have made it a key goal of mine to turn every hurdle into an opportunity to learn.
It’s this hard won knowledge that I would like to share with you through the Children’s Activity Business Academy. Whether you’re fresh to the idea of being your own boss and you’re simply looking for fresh breeze of motivation, or you’re a seasoned veteran looking for a fresh pair of eyes and a new perspective, I can be your ultimate coach for children’s activity business.
So, book a FREE discovery call today and let’s see what we can achieve together.

Nicola is the founder and director of Jigsaw Performing Arts Schools. Nicola attended a weekend performing arts school in Bristol (her home town) as a child and it had a big impact on her life. After completing her professional training at Mountview Theatre School, she was inspired to set up Jigsaw Arts in 1995 so more children could benefit from performing arts classes, giving them the confidence and social skills to achieve their full potential. What’s more, Jigsaw Arts is enormous fun for all involved, students, staff and head office.
In 2013, Nicola felt Jigsaw had reached its full capacity with 22 schools and 2000 students across London. This is when she decided to take the big step into the franchising world. Nicola was keen to support other like-minded individuals who were passionate about running their own performing arts schools. Nicola says, “ It’s one of the best decisions I ever made. We are able to reach so many more children this way and I absolutely love training and supporting the Jigsaw franchisees to be confident business owners. We have a created a place to belong for our students and franchisees alike.”
If you would like to know more about running your own Jigsaw Performing Arts School and what a Jigsaw franchise is all about, you can contact Nicola and her team for an informal chat on 020 8445 0485 or email franchise@jigsaw-arts.co.uk. Claire Munday is the founder and creator of Tappy Toes. She started dancing at the age of 3 and has danced all her life. After a successful 10 year career as a professional dancer she set up her own Dance school RISE Studios in Rickmansworth and Watford, Hertfordshire, and created the Tappy Toes brand and syllabus.
Having run the Tappy Toes toddler dance classes for a few years and being asked about setting them up in various other areas, Claire decided to franchise Tappy Toes so that children all over the UK could learn to dance in a fun and imaginative way. The Epping classes were set up after Claire made the move from Watford to Epping, Essex. Having taught them for a few years, Claire took time out to have her children and classes are now taught by the lovely Miss Jasmine. Over the years Claire has tweaked and added to the syllabus, introducing the Teeny Toes baby classes after having two children of her own and not finding a baby dance class for that age group, and expanding to offer Baby ballet classes, Tip Toes. Tappy Toes now offers dance classes for all babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.
Claire’s mission is to get all our little ones moving, and to instil a real love of dance and the arts at a young age. Claire also teaches teenagers, and has noticed a real rise in teenage anxiety over the last few years. She is extremely passionate about introducing children to dance as young as possible, in the hope that they continue with it into adulthood. It is such a great stress reliever and releases those happy endorphins that keep our mental health strong! Find out more about our Franchise Opportunities

"Hello, I am Rachelle proud owner of Mess Around Ltd and Sub-Editor at Business Success Network in Children’s Activity Providers.
Mess Around Ltd has been my passion for the last 4 years, starting life as a franchisee as it fitted my ethos and values on what Children’s activities should look like and then took over as franchisor from the lovely Krissy in 2021. We are all about children learning through play and allowing them experiences that they might not get at home. We want to bring families together to create memories, have fun and with no stress! As a primary teacher, I am well aware that Messy Play is so important to our children’s development but as a Mum, I understand the pain of not wanting it in the house! That’s why Mess Around is the perfect fit! Where else can you come and find over 12 different messy activities and not have to worry about cleaning up? http://www.messarounduk.com/
I started working with Stacey Calder at The Business Success Network 12 months ago, the pandemic hit our industry hard and I for one felt that we were forgotten, we play such an important part in the early development of our children (our future) that we should be recognised and championed alongside all the other industries out there, so we created a Children’s Activity Providers group and have just launched our first Magazine (at The Club Hub awards!) in our group we have lots of fellow activity providers but also lots of businesses to help scale and grow our business too. Almost like a one-stop shop! We plan to keep adding to the group and will be hosting meet-ups and masterclasses too! http://www.facebook.com/groups/bsnchildrensactivityproviders"

Mum of 3 (if you include the dog) and a primary school teacher with over a decade of teaching experience. Plans to open The Little Play Village started in early 2020 while on maternity leave, indoors during the lock down. She rapidly turned to role play as a means to engage and entertain her toddler, realising how much she had always loved creating play set ups for him. She began to dream of running her own role play village and spent hours researching how she could make it a reality. With the support of her family and close friends, The Little Play Village was born.
