We love women's health, yes we do, we want tampons without heavy metals, how 'bout you!?
Tampons have been in the news recently—and for a less-than-ideal reason. Heavy metals, lead, arsenic, oh my! Today we discuss what is actually in tampons, how to know that your menstrual products are safe to use, and the changes that need to be made for the sake of menstruating women worldwide.
And while we're here, let's dip into pink tax, cramps in the office, and how the heck the gals are getting through the day.
If you have questions, thoughts, and general rage about the state of menstruation products, you've come to the right place.
You can find The New York Times article on what's in tampons here.

Your favorite redheads are...having a crisis? Had a crisis? Expecting a crisis?
Honestly none of the above but since it's a rule you have to at least ~consider~ having a crisis when you turn 30, we're discussing it. It's true—decisions in your 30s do feel significantly bigger. More important. More life-changing. And while our eldest daughter selves also felt that in our 20s, these emotions may actually be onto something this decade.
Nervous about this "bigger" crisis year? Let's talk through it.

Welcome back to season three of Well Said, Red! After a year's hiatus and more than a few emotional rollercoasters, we're thrilled to be back and, dare we say, better than ever?
To kick it off well (?) we're diving into Brat Summer in all its glory (??). Baby tees and 0.5 selfies and living your truth, oh my? We're chatting through whether Brat Summer is for us—any of us.

We are shocked and appalled (and absolutely delighted) to bring you the season finale of season 2! Today we're just doing what we do best—shooting the breeze and having an honest conversation about where we're at. Some things are going well. Some things are looking bleak. Most things are right in the middle.
Devon also turns 30 in two weeks. Lil turns a much less dramatic age two months later. So birthday sentiments are in full swing.
But we're doing the damn thing. And we hope you feel empowered and loved and hopeful as you do the damn thing, too. Whatever that means for you. No matter what your mid-year check-in is at, there's still plenty of time left in 2023 to strive toward goodness and growth and gentleness.
And more slices of pizza with close friends. That's the vibe we're leaving season 2 with.
**Miss us already? We're looking ahead to season 3 and simply cannot wait for more guests and gal pal giggles. Let us know what you want to see from us next season—it'll be here before you know it!

We're incredibly fond of the city we call home, but we can't pull the "born and raised" card...no matter how much we'd like to. So to really dig into what it means to be a New Yorker, we called up local entrepreneur, Manya Yeva.
Manya's Brooklyn-born point of view brought us many laughs, hot takes, and NYC love. We're obsessed with her. We're all obsessed with Brooklyn. We will continue to argue over pizza.
You can follow Manya on Instagram and TikTok at @manyayeva. Her hot sauce company, Brooklyn Sauce, is on Instagram at @bklynsaus. You can buy her hot sauce online at bklynsaus.com.

Is it just us, or is literally everyone in Italy?
While only one of us participated in a Lake Como moment recently, if there's one thing these two redheads know it's how to travel WELL. Sure, we have our differences—transit preferences, food priorities, airlines we've sworn off for good, who we'll say "yes!" to a trip with—but all in all we're peas in a pod when it comes to being travel girlies.
And hair flip honestly? Being a travel girlie is hard! You've got to book the tickets and do the things! It's exhausting! If it's not for you, it's ok! But if you want to give being a travel girlie a try, we're here to help you out with budget tips, itinerary know-how, and packing strategies.

Friendship breakups suck. We've all had them, we've all grieved them, we've all wondered "what the heck happened here?"
While friendship breakups are often confusing and emotionally taxing, sometimes they're an inevitable ending that will serve you well later on. As relationship-forward gals, we understand the emotional chaos that comes from a close friend leaving your life, whether by blow-up, all-out fight or a quieter drift apart.
Today we discuss the types of friendship breakups, how you can keep yourself grounded amidst a friendship breakup, and the best ways to move on from what might have been a really traumatic time in your life. We're sharing our experience in hopes of helping you gracefully endure friendship breakups of your own.

We're back! And we're here to talk about social media—the good, the bad, and the "oof that's so 2016."
We're two main character energy girls. We loooooove a little coffee shop morning with Trader Joe's peonies (tis the season) and the rule of thirds. We appreciate Instagram's ability to store memories and art.
But as the concept of "romanticizing your life" has taken over the online space—while many of us sit on our couches until the wee hours of the morning—we're beginning to wonder whether or not that thought process is actually helping us live fully and live well.
So let's break it down.
How does romanticizing your life impact your mental health?
Is it inauthentic to post an aesthetically pleasing photo? Is that not "real?"
What are IRL ways to romanticize your life that may actually be helpful?

Rest is actually a lot of work. Wait, that's confusing. Rest is just sleeping on the couch for a nap. Wait, but the couch means I'm scrolling on TikTok. Rest is putting up boundaries. WAIT.
How do you actually rest in ways that are sustainable and effective?
The wellness space has long discussed rest and the importance it has for an individual's wellbeing. Yet we still haven't quite cracked the code. So today we're chatting about ways we implement restful habits in our life that help us ~actually~ achieve rest. We get a little philosophical, get excited.

In honor of our eternal love of wedding season AND Devon and Isaac's one year anniversary, we're adding an exclusive bridal interview to our wedding library. Today Lil interviews Dev to chat all things wedding planning—choosing to have a destination wedding, curating the guest list, and deciding how many people is the appropriate amount for a bridal party. Oh, and how did she do it while maintaining at least a smidge of sanity? It took a village, sweet listeners. Learn about all that and more as Lil throws on her journalist hat to get all the deets from our favorite 2022 bride.

Is it just us, or is life actually flying at the speed of light these days? Today we debrief The Eras Tour (yes, it's true, Lil got tickets), traveling every other weekend, and sentimental moments amidst chaos. And while our social, extroverted selves would love to chat highlights all day long, the reality is that life can be (and for some of us, currently is) equally beautiful and difficult.
Just because the calendar is fun and full doesn't mean mental states are thriving, and we're taking the time to acknowledge some emotional hardships and discuss how we're getting through them.

The conversation surrounding body image has made massive strides in the wellness world within the last decade. But just because the pendulum has swung one direction doesn't mean we've "fixed" the fitness space, how we talk about body shape and size, and what we expect of our bodies. Honestly? It's still a giant garbage fire.
That's why we're so excited to have award-winning fitness instruction, certified personal trainer, and founder of Rock Your Body Fitness, Nikki Pebbles join us on the pod. Nikki walks us through her own experience with toxic body image within the fitness space, as well as tangible things she has done to take charge of her own self-talk to progress her body image in healthy, sustainable ways.
You can find Nikki on Instagram @nikkipebbles, as well as on her podcast "Brainy Conversations" available soon on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

Cohabitation is a beautiful, weird aspect of life that most of us have to figure out (thank you, housing market). Today we dive into finding roommates in New York City, understanding what creates a safe, respectful home environment, and learning how to not be irritating to live with and maintaining self awareness for your ~less than phenomenal~ qualities you may bring into a living situation. AKA how to not suck as a roommate. Roommate of the pod, Shannon Haupert, jumps on the mic to help us on our quest for roommate greatness.

Let's cut to the chase — dating these days ain't it. But amidst the ghosting and situationships and swiping, what's really out there? What's the hot goss? Today we welcome The Brooklyn Bachelorette on the pod to discuss red flags, where to pick up the few good men left in this world, and how the absolute heck to score a date offline. Abby Docherty, long time friend of the pod, shares her dating hot takes and giggles as we gab about the problems of modern-day romance and contemplate bringing arranged marriage to the states (ok maybe that's just Lil, but ya know what, desperate times).

Getting laid off is actually a nightmare. And we've both been through it! Separate times, separate companies, separate financial circumstances—but ultimately a shared experience we can reflect on now that we've seen the other side. Today we each share our stories, talk through the strategies we made to survive unemployment in New York City, discuss the helpful advice we received, and consider what we'd maybe do differently looking back.
Layoffs suck. We'd love to snap our fingers and erase the concept forever. But we also recognize how isolating and defeating a layoff is and want to provide a space for that conversation to take place.
If you're currently experiencing a layoff, furlough, or job shift that is out of your control—we're sending you all our love!

Today we dive into how we're choosing to "live well" in our current seasons. Are there some fads that are worth it? Do the TikTok influencers actually know what they're talking about? Or should we throw them out and only eat what we grow in our gardens? How many times should I wash my hair every week? How are we supposed to create a ~routine~ when our brains are going 90 miles an hour?
Same, girlfriend. We've asked similar questions and done our very best to answer them, all while adding our personal tidbits of encouragement and advice for the greater good. We're all just doing our best out here, one wellness concept at a time.

Once upon a great day in 2015, Lil's beloved New York Times published its "36 Questions That Lead to Love." So, in an effort to provide the Well Said Red audience with some perspective and plenty of giggles, we dove headfirst into 5 of them. Maybe we'll do the remaining 31 in segments. Maybe we'll bring Isaac on the pod and see if he and Devon fall more madly in love thanks to question 33. Maybe the internet will finally (finally!!!!) fall in love with us because of our innate ability to spill vulnerabilities in the face of interrogation.
One way or the other, we're SURE you'll get to know your internet gal pals a little better. And we hope you'll go through these questions with IRL gal pals, too. Love isn't just the mushy gushy stuff, after all.

Long distance relationships—whether with family, friends, or those random crushes you continue to stalk on Instagram—take a certain level of balance and intentionality. You want those forever friends to last...well, forever. But at the same time, you need to grow relationships happening IRL during the season of life you're currently in. How do you do it!?
While we find ourselves constantly juggling relationships from thousands of miles away, it's become increasingly clear that some things just work better than others when it comes to relationship maintenance. We're busy gals who love our people well—and recognize that loving our people well doesn't necessarily mean Facetiming each of them once a week. Sustainable habits that can be adjusted for different people, that's the key! Between the two of us, we've been in well over a dozen weddings (and counting!), so it's safe to say we've got a few tricks up our sleeves. Today we discuss those financial and relational hurdles, what you need to do and don't need to do in order to meet your bridesmaid expectations, and whether or not you should always say "yes!" to every wedding party invitation.
Our goal is to have you come out of this episode ready to absolutely crush next wedding season with your MVP bridesmaid (or groomsmen, hey fellas!) skill.

"That was the day I discovered my Vagina". Okay WSR fans, today we are covering A LOT. We're talking Pirates of the Caribbean, sexy priests, and period cycles! Before you skip this episode, because let's be honest, periods aren't exactly a sexy topic. We wanted to share some words of encouragement, wisdom, and hopefully some education on what the heck is going on with women's health. If this podcast makes you uncomfortable, maybe sit with that for a minute. If you feel nervous to share this podcast with a friend or family member for some reason, ask yourself why? If we mention anything that doesn't sit right in your gut, fact check us, and tell us what you learned. We are here to create a community that is encouraged, empowered, and educated!
Here's the tea: periods happen and it's okay, but it's not okay for us to feel shame or embarrassment about them.
We're trying to solve for that by raising awareness, using our tiny microphones to just state some honest facts, and get real with stories from our own life.
Hope you listen!

It's a truth universally acknowledged that the most wonderful time of the year in New York is fall. The leaves are changing, a cool breeze nips and your fingers while you hold a warm pumpkin spice latte (the only fall drink). You romanticize your life wandering the manhattan streets listening to your best brooding music.
On this episode of Well Said, Red, Lil and Dev deep dive on their favorite fall things in New York City. Spoiler: Pumpkin Spice Latte's don't make an appearance.
