For the love of makeup! We’re going to dive deep into this corporate bae’s journey as we circle back to one of her first loves; MAKEUP! Our next cohost is a Substance Abuse Prevention Associate, Public Health Advocate , makeup lover and all around boss! We’re diving into A Transformative Life: Moving Into A New Chapter of Makeup with TayyM. During Tayy’s college years at Alabama State University, she got word of an opening, on campus for a Substance Abuse/HIV Prevention Coordinator position needed to be filled. Needing a job, she applied for the position and got the job! She did “everything right”... went to college, got multiple degrees, got an amazing job, but something was missing. On the administrative side of her world, Tayy brings a valuable perspective to her corporate team. Her experience with working head on in her field, she understood what it takes to make a difference in someone’s life. While changing the world, she knew a piece was missing from hers. The love of a creative outlet and the artistry of makeup was the missing piece to her puzzle. August 23, 2021 Tayy wakes up and declares she was going to be a makeup artist! The excitement she felt Spring 2012 freshman year when she purchased her first Covergirl press powder, she knew she had to continue to feel that excitement. Just a little over four months and Tayy is creating the happiness she knew she wanted while enhancing others beauty through her makeup artistry. To think, it’s scary to go for what you want and it works, but it’s even scarier to dwell on the ‘What if...’ moments and never going for what you want. This is for the love of makeup. At a young age, Christy, her mom and family moved to GA from Louisiana prior to Hurricane Katrina disaster. Through her love for music, nature and all things subscription box based, she developed Go Girl Grow Girl Subscription Box. ChristyC showcases Black and minority individuals products. As an operated small business, Christy found it important to showcase Black and minority businesses to accommodate the needs of the consumer that looks like her. She showcases businesses that encompasses the circle of life through our senses of taste, touch smell, even something that grows and keeps you connected spiritually. She states, ‘I love the opportunity to be an opportunity for someone else’. This speaks volumes for her as she continues to put herself and her brand out there while showcasing other businesses. So Go Girl Grow Girl is everything you need in your self-care day! Christy leaves us with the phrase, “KEEP GOING” and “IT IS, WHAT I-T IS”!
