This week we take time to meet our new librarian, Mrs. Denise Glockzin! Mrs. Glockzin brings a wealth of 37 years of experience to our WMS library. We talk about how the library staff can help our scholars in their learning and tips for parents on keeping your scholar reading through middle school! #WMSWarhawks

Each week we give you highlights into what's going on around Wellborn and how we create the magic of the Wellborn experience for all of our scholars and stakeholders. Joining us this week is our WMS Professional of the Year, Mr. Andy Vitek! As one of our instructional coach/interventionists we talk about how our teachers engage with small group instruction and the value of our MAP benchmark testing for teachers and parents.
Joining us in the Warhawk Studio is our head athletic trainer, Mrs. Kelly Stoots. We're talking about what the athletic trainer does for our scholar-athletes, the difference between being sore or hurt, and some stretches you may see your scholar doing at home.
Joining us this week is Wellborn's Teacher of the Year for 2022: Mr. Nur Rashid. We talk about who he is, the scholar experience in his classroom, and what scholars should be prepared for taking high school level Spanish in 8th grade.
Joining us for Warhawk Weekly is our WMS AVID Coordinator, Ms. Melissa Myles! We talk about what AVID is, what your scholar can learn from the program, and how it can prepare them for future success!
On Episode 11, we're joined by Mr. Brian Miles, counselor at Wellborn Middle School. In 6 minutes we talk about scheduling for your scholar, upcoming parent events, and how the school counseling office can be of assistance to you.

For those who were unable to attend our performances this month, we present to you in 10 minutes, the Holidays at Wellborn.
We're back! After a 1 week hiatus, we check out the art around Wellborn. Integrating professional artwork on our walls and in our spaces helps create a more comprehensive experience in the arts for all of our scholars. Mrs. Bales, our artist-in-residence, takes us on a tour of the many creations and works of art around WMS.
Joining us this week, Mrs. Kristen Seale, our fine arts department head, talks to us about upcoming holiday performances for our fine arts programs, the programs we offer at Wellborn, and the skill sets developed through a study in the fine arts. #WMSWarhawks
Joining us this week is Mr. Bill Zubek, Director of Quality for the Student Teacher Emergenetics Program (STEP). We talk about the recent training scholars received for their youth reports, how Wellborn plans to utilize this resource, and how parents can use their scholar's youth report at home! If you need a quick refresher, we also cover the three main sections that you see on your scholar's youth report and what those elements mean.

This week is Meet Mr. Stewart! Mr. Stewart joins Mr. Hackethorn as we delve into how Mr. Stewart's role has changed becoming the principal and the long range vision for what Wellborn Middle School will achieve!
Joined by Ms. Cassie Green, 7th grade math teacher, we walk through what the House Team draft is all about and how scholars have their house team revealed to them.
Joined by Mr. Brian Cruickshanks, we jump into what these House Teams are all about, what is a Family Leader, and how a 7th grade scholar can prepare themselves to be their Family Leader in their 8th grade year.
