In today’s episode, Cassidy dives into an iconic Rumi quote. Plus a look at one of the sexiest poems in existence… “I want to see you. Know your voice.
Recognize you when you first come round the corner.
Sense your scent when I come into a room you’ve just left.
Know the lift of your heel, the glide of your foot.
Become familiar with the way you purse your lips then let them part, just the slightest bit, when I lean in to your space and kiss you.
I want to know the joy of how you whisper ‘more’.” - Rumi

This week’s prompt shared at the end of the episode. Cassidy has always avoided group writing workshops because it seemed terrifying to share work in progress with other people but it’s actually not that bad after all. Everything you want is on the other side of fear! Feel the free and do it anyway!

Happy First Monday of 2022. May that start of your week be ignited and focused. Cassidy dives into a quote that set her heart on fire. “The reign of the Girl Boss is over, it’s time for the Intuitive Entreprenuer.” The Instagram Caption that said it all,
“This. Putting this here on the first Monday of January 2022 because I f%^?# love it. Even when the term #GirlBoss was being thrown around years ago, I kinda hated it. I mean, I’m sure I used it somewhere around 2016. There are 100% some videos somewhere of me using the word in YouTube vlogs. But it’s the same way I can’t stand when “Female Director” is used. Just say Director. I don’t need a word in front of it to set it apart into a different box. I never wanted or needed to be a Girl Boss. I just wanted to feel empowered. Hustle culture is over. So when I read this for the first time, I was electrified. The Number One most important thing after being a Kind Human is FOLLOWING YOUR INTUITION. Vibes are real. That spidey sense that goes off when something feels “Off” is not you “Overthinking” something. There is an intuitive, holy, tapped in, all knowing piece of magic we all have that guides us. When we honor it, Cosmic Goodness things happen. I’m talking really paying attention to how your body reacts to things that happen. If you feel anxiety rise in your chest and your nervous system goes haywire around certain places, people, or things, it is not courageous to force yourself to be in those environments. The most courageous thing to do is to follow your gut. It doesn’t allows make sense in the moment but later, the pieces will come together. My prayer for everyone this year is that they follow their into intuition, spend time on things because you feel good while doing it, not because you feel like you should be doing it.
"If you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living." - Joseph Campbell

In this episode, Cassidy talks about geeking out on certain subjects. Reading about it, watching it, dreaming about it…and then months later totally forgetting about it. Does anyone else do this? Trying to understand the genesis of it. Is it worth trying to find the balance of a middle ground or just let your freak flag fly?

In today’s episode, Cassidy dissects the first twenty minutes of the “What the Health” documentary on Netflix directed by Kip Andersen and Keegan Kuhn. Health documentaries like this can be heavy to watch but knowledge empowers us to deeply understand how we are treating our bodies. It’s important to know what causes inflammation in the body to prevent it. Cassidy is shocked to discover that researchers found that eating one egg per day was just as bad for your heart as smoking five cigarettes per day! A single large egg contains more than 180 mg of cholesterol, and the average American consumes almost five eggs per week. No wonder heart disease is the number one killer. It’s also important to be aware of what additives have been forbidden in Europe but are still approved in the United States.

In today’s episode, Cassidy looks at Alan Watts’ philosophy surrounding “The Backwards Law.” Where is the fine line in the balance of seeking more while also feeling non-resistant to our current realities? If you’re a creator; does your art not really count unless you have an audience for it? What does that mean in the fast consumption of the digital world we live in? How do we make something “good” without caring whether it’s good or not?

In the second episode, Cassidy dives into the Elizabeth Gilbert follow up book her international bestseller “Eat Pray Love.” This book of essays “Eat Pray Love Made Me Do It” is a collection of essays submitted by people that faced a wake up call that lead them to drastically change their lives after reading the first book. Why is there such a huge connective thread between all of these books…the biggest theme seems to be unsatisfied wives and mothers feeling trapped. What can we learn from this when it comes to traditional structures of marriage and motherhood? Is there a balance between a nomadic life full of adventure and possibility while raising a family? Marriage vs. Partnership. Cassidy unravels some of these ideas to switch the traditional, conventional path on its head.

In this inaugural episode, Cassidy realizes there are 7 days left of 2021 and she did not start the one thing that she had hoped to create in 2021: a podcast.
