Underrepresentation in cardiology means that among current practicing cardiologists, only 3% are black, 4% are Latinx/Hispanic, and 0.2% are Native American/Indigenous (compared with 13.4%, 18.5%, and 1.2% of the general population, respectively). In this episode, we talk with cardiology fellow Dr. Quentin Youmans about his personal experience with the consequences of underrepresentation and what he's doing to promote diversity & inclusion in cardiology, both at his institution and in social media.

Women and people of color have long been underrepresented in clinical trials, and it's a problem. So what are we going to do about it?
