Sometimes, groups do things that we disagree with. The church has many flaws, and it’s tempting to decide to associate when we align but then disassociate when we don’t. How much do I need to align myself with my church community? Paul teaches us to, “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
We are transforming into a community through whom God’s love flows, but that’s easier said than done. Community sounds good and all, but what about when there are problems? What about when people hurt each other? What about when things get tense, or we’re just not feeling it? The fact is that we transform community by how well we manage expectations and resources. Join us for six weeks in Colossians 3:12-17 as we explore what we can reasonably expect of a healthy Christian community.
What does community look like when I’m not passionate about it like others? Do I always need to be excited, happy to be there, eager, and driven, or can I just “be” for a while? Do I need to engage when I’m not feeling connected personally? Paul teaches us to celebrate and live as one “through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”

Join us for six weeks in Colossians 3:12-17 as we explore what we can reasonably expect of a healthy Christian community.
What does community look like when I need some good advice? Do I just hear a bunch of pleasantries, or do people dive into the scriptures and seek the wisdom of God alongside me? We don’t have all the answers but must pursue them together. Paul teaches us to, “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom.”

Join us for six weeks in Colossians 3:12-17 as we explore what we can reasonably expect of a healthy Christian community.
What does community look like when our conflict has gotten tense? Disagreements and conflict can feel gut-wrenching and fill us with anxiety to the point where we feel like running away. Isn’t community supposed to be peaceful? In reality, it just isn’t always happy and friendly. Yet, Paul teaches us to “put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts since as members of one body, you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

What does community look like when I’ve been hurt by people in that community? Do I give up? Do I tolerate abuse? How do I respond to others when they cause me deep pain? Paul teaches us to “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

What does community look like when things aren’t working? People are suffering, needy, flawed, and mess up. We are broken people living with broken people, and our mutual inadequacy can get in the way of community. Paul teaches us to, in the face of one another’s brokenness, “clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

Does it sometimes feel like only certain parts of you belong in church? Do you feel like you need to keep some parts hidden out of fear of rejection, shame, or judgment? Where do my doubts, fears, brokenness, differences, circumstances, and story fit when everyone else seems to have it all together? Let’s take a good hard look at what belonging means in light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Is your "Dying to self" leading to compromise, fatigue, and burnout? This can't be what Jesus meant, can it? It doesn’t feel like the new life he promises on the other side. Let’s explore the deeper meaning of death to self this Lent.

“‘Even now,’ declares the LORD, ‘return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.’ Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.”
Where is God calling you to go? What is God calling you to do? We are often looking for the answer to that question to be a destination, but more often than not, God’s response is…well…inconclusive. It’s as if the destination is withheld because there is something more important for us to discover in the process of exploring all the possibilities.

When we have all of the world’s information at our fingertips, it can be easy to lose touch with the mystery of not knowing. Advent invites us to play out the experience of waiting for Jesus to come so that we never forget the wonder of what the season is truly about.

“The goal [of the Psalms] is that the soul may be joined to God.” - St. Thomas Aquinas
Are the Psalms theology, poetry, or both? They are descriptions of a world filled with joy and victory, as well as suffering and pain, and provide an ancient window into a rugged, authentic relationship with God. Soaking in the Psalms provides an introduction to these beautiful and ancient poems that will help you feel more comfortable using them in your faith journey.

The question of whether we are inherently good or evil determines how we interact with others and ourselves. During this 4-week series, we will delve into four key stories in the bible that illustrate God's design for us, how to handle the reality of sin, and how to recognize the light of God within imperfect individuals.

Having a plan and being intentional about how we use our time is a beautiful thing, but sometimes the structure gets tiring. God designed healthy rhythms into our lives; rhythms of rest and work, change and stability, introspection and action.

Ready, Set, MOVE! Let’s celebrate God’s goodness and remember how to draw closer to him as we wake up, sit down, walk along the road, and go to bed. We will celebrate all the fun we had with families from our community at Summer Jam this past weekend.
On the day of Pentecost, the followers of Jesus were given a power that was beyond imagination, the power of God’s own Holy Spirit. They spoke of hope, healing, forgiveness, transformation, purpose, and restoration through that power. The news would spread and multiply from person to person to the ends of the earth. We live by that same power, the power that gave new birth to the mission of God.

In this final week of Epiphany, we see Jesus is all his glory. Are we ready for what that means?
Why does the Father love Jesus? Why do we truly love? Exploring what makes someone “loveable.”
Creation was completed, then God rested. Let's trust his design by resting first and working out of that rest. Today we will slow down, reflect on the past year, and dream toward our future in RE:23.

The church has spent a lot of time focusing on the fences, the theological, moral, and ideological boundaries that define who is “in” and who is “out.” Yet we believe that Jesus’ promise is that “whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst” (John 4:14). What value do fences have when our faith is nourished at the well? In this 4-week series, we will learn that fences would be better turned into signposts that accurately point toward the well rather than boundaries keeping some in and some out.
When we’ve spent time at the well we learn amazing things. Sharing the gospel is less about knowing the boundaries and more about sharing our own experience of time at the well. As we draw closer, others will want a taste for themselves.

When we encounter Jesus, he invites us to go out to the perimeters, not to build fences, but to tear them down and build roadsigns that point people safely toward the well.

The well forces us to face our own hearts rather than the fence that allows us to avoid looking at ourselves. Living water has a way of healing the brokenness we’ve avoided by focusing on fences

We are transforming into a community through whom God’s love flows. During Lent, we reflect on our neediness, our dependence on the grace of God, and by doing so prepare ourselves to receive the gift of Easter. The focus of our preparation will be reflecting on 7 key habits that, when practiced, draw us closer to the loving God who created us and to one another as we serve. Today we reflect on... Habit #7 Revealing Hope: We share a hope that God is actively restoring all creation through the Spirit-empowered work of the church. We deliver this hope by actively working toward flourishing in our households, schools, workplaces, and communities. As we do this, we introduce our neighbors to Jesus, who delivers true hope to all who choose to believe.

Habit #6 Giving Grace: As God bears with us, offering undeserved grace, we bear with one another in love and patience, remembering we are all broken in our representation of Christ. Therefore, we do not wield shame or guilt but instead, in humility, deal with one another with compassion.

As we each stand ready for God to nourish our own faith, we also actively prepare to offer hospitality and support to others. We do this by preparing for new relationships, praying for one another, and walking together toward deeper discipleship.

We maintain trust in each other by practicing a charitable attitude, speaking honestly within our relationships, addressing problems directly and promptly, and building safe and transparent systems.

Milestones are the moments that CREATE the trajectory of your life. We all have moments in our lives that we look forward to and back on that define our journey. They serve both as goals to strive toward and markers to remind us where we've come from. As we gather to worship Jesus, we will hear the stories of some of his milestones and then reflect on our own.

Much of our division is a result of pride. We think it is because of the injustice of others, but it is rarely without layers of our own pride.
