Listen to relevant and practical messages from the Bible, recorded live at Grace Church in Newmarket Ontario
In a world full of distractions, busy schedules, and endless options, it’s easy to ask, “Do I really need to go to church regularly?” Is weekly worship really worth it when life is already full?
In this message, discover why gathering with others to worship can change your outlook, strengthen your faith, and even impact your wellbeing.
God designed something powerful to happen when His people come together — and you don’t want to miss it.
Don’t just go to church—experience why it matters.
We live in one of the loneliest generations in history — even though we’re the most “connected.” Why? Too often, our relationships are built on convenience and usefulness, rather than genuine community. And deep down, we know that kind of life leaves us empty.
What if the key to stronger relationships, deeper joy, and even better health wasn’t about getting more — but about giving more?
In this message, discover why radical generosity with your time, talents, and treasure isn’t just good for others — it changes you.
Learn how generosity builds authentic community, strengthens your soul, and points people towards something greater.
Don’t settle for superficial connections. Choose generosity. It might just change your relationships forever.
Feel invisible in a crowd? Over-busy but under-known? Maybe hurt by the church? This talk is for anyone who’s lonely, burnt out, or longing for something deeper than crowds and “influencers.”In this talk, you'll discover:
• Why our culture pushes us toward isolation (and why it’s costing us)
• The difference between crowds and real community
• Five vivid pictures that make connection practical, not theoretical
If this helped you, subscribe, share it with a friend, and tell us in the comments: What kind of connection are you craving right now?
Why does making friends feel so much harder as an adult? Between busy schedules, family life, and endless screen time, many of us feel surrounded by people yet still deeply alone. Friendship has become a rare commodity in our culture — and yet it’s one of the most powerful forces to shape our lives.
In this message from our Healthy Habits No One Talks About series, discover:👉Why real friendships don’t happen by accident — they require intentionality.👉 How one friendship can lead to a life-change that goes deeper than surface needs.👉 Why friendship is often the bridge that carries faith into someone’s life.
This isn’t just about finding friends for yourself — it’s about becoming the kind of friend who makes a lasting impact. You can’t reach everyone, but you can change someone’s life.
Ever look at the needs in our world and wonder, “What difference could I possibly make?” Between poverty, conflict, sickness, and loneliness—even right here in our own community—the problems feel way bigger than us.
But here’s the good news: you don’t have to fix everything. You just have to start somewhere.
In this message, you’ll discover:
👉 Why compassion is the starting point to real change.
👉 How your small acts can make a bigger difference than you think.
👉 Why working together multiplies our impact and brings unexpected joy.
This isn’t about guilt; it’s about finding purpose, hope, and joy when you step into a life that helps others. Serving others doesn’t just change the world, it changes you.
Have you ever wondered, “Is this really all there is?” We chase success, experiences, relationships, and possessions, yet even when we get them, the longing remains. Deep down, we know we were made for more.
In this message, Etienne Jacobs unpacks the hope that there is more. A truer home. A better future. And that hope doesn’t just change tomorrow, it changes how we live today.
If you’ve felt the ache of dissatisfaction, the weight of disappointment, or the restlessness of longing for something greater, this message is for you. Discover the promise that can steady your heart, fuel your faith, and give you courage to live differently now.
Don’t just settle for shadows, step into the hope of what’s real and lasting.
Have you ever wanted to change something about yourself, but no matter how hard you tried, it just didn’t stick? Maybe you feel stuck in old patterns, weighed down by mistakes, or frustrated that you can’t seem to break free. You’re not alone.
In The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Eustace Scrubb goes on an incredible journey of transformation that mirrors the journey we all long for. His story isn’t just fantasy — it’s a powerful picture of how real change is possible in our lives.
In this message, we’ll discover:
✅ Why real transformation begins with surrender
✅ How change is a lifelong process, not a one-time event
✅ Why transformation can hurt — but why it’s always worth it
If you’ve ever longed for a fresh start or wondered if lasting change is even possible, this message is for you.
With the Telmarines determined to wipe them out, the Narnians and the Pevensie children needed great courage to remain true to Aslan, regardless of the cost. In the same way, Christians face opposition and persecution, requiring great courage to remain faithful to their King. Are you prepared to count the cost of following Jesus?
What do you do when it feels like God has stepped out of the picture? Life goes on… the battles keep coming… but it seems like the One you were counting on is nowhere to be found.
In Prince Caspian, Narnia has fallen under the oppression of the Telmarines. Aslan hasn’t been seen for hundreds of years, and the old stories of hope feel more like myths than reality. Even when Lucy catches glimpses of him, the others dismiss her.
In this message, we’ll discover how to hold on when God seems absent, how to keep seeking Him like Lucy did, and why His timing is always right - even when it’s not our timing.
You’ll Learn:💡 Why God’s absence is never what it seems💡 How to trust Him when He’s unseen💡 How to wait well until His timing arrives
God is always at work - whether you see Him or not.
In the movie, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Edmund betrayed his family and Aslan. We are all like Edmund - guilty of selfishness and a desire to satisfy our own pleasures and need for control. The Bible calls this sin, and it separates us from God. But, like Aslan, who sacrificed his life for Edmund, Jesus died to pay for our sin and set us free. In this message, learn how Jesus is our perfect substitute.
What if the life you've been searching for has been waiting for you on the other side of a door - all you need to do is step through?
In this first message of our At the Movies: The Chronicles of Narnia series, we dive into The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to explore how God invites us into something bigger, something eternal. Jesus had taken Peter from the safety of the boat to leading the church into new, unfamiliar territory, like overcoming his cultural biases to preach to Gentiles. Peter stepped out of his traditional comfort zone to obey God’s voice to take the gospel to a Roman Centurian – a Gentile! Trust doesn’t always lead us to a comfortable place; it stretches us beyond our comfort zone.
When failure feels final, Jesus offers restoration.
In this message, we journey with Peter from shame and self-doubt back to calling and trust. Through two declarations and three soul-piercing questions, Jesus gently restores a broken disciple—and offers us the same hope today.
Whether you feel like a failure or just weary from striving, The Return to Trust invites you to encounter the grace that meets us in our lowest moments and calls us forward with purpose.
When a violent storm arose, Peter and the disciples panicked while Jesus slept in the boat. They questioned whether Jesus really cared about them. When the storm raged, their trust was tested. What storms are you facing right now, and do you trust that Jesus is still in control?
Trust sounds easy… until life feels like a storm.
In this message, we follow Peter’s bold moment, stepping out of the boat to walk on water. He starts strong… then sinks. But what if sinking isn’t failure; what if it’s part of how trust grows?
Whether you’re new to faith, wrestling with doubt, or growing deeper, this story reminds us: trust doesn’t grow in comfort; it grows when we focus on Jesus in the middle of fear and uncertainty.
What’s one step of faith God is asking you to take today?
What do you do when Jesus asks you to trust Him, even when it defies logic?
In this message from Luke 5, Peter is invited to go deeper, literally and spiritually. It starts with one small act of obedience and leads to a miracle that changes everything and fills him with purpose.
Whether you’re just exploring faith or have walked with Jesus for years, this story reminds us that trust always begins with a step of obedience.
Join us as we kick off a new series about moving beyond the shallow and into deeper trust with God.

Do you have children or grandchildren that don't yet know Jesus? Are you burdened for the next generation? In this message, we will learn that the good news is indeed for this next generation and can be explained to them in ways they understand. It begins with understanding what they value so we can build relationships with them that will lead to opportunities to speak truth into their lives.
The apostle Paul and his companions would often begin sharing the good news about Jesus in the synagogues. This was a religious hub of the time. Paul sought out these opportunities to talk to the Jewish people who were familiar with the prophecies and promises about the coming Messiah.
Paul's message focussed on the resurrection of Jesus and how he was the fulfillment of God's promises and the heart of the good news! Jesus is the one we can put our faith and trust in for salvation because he is alive!
But we can't keep this incredible news to ourselves. God has brought people of other faiths and religions to our communities. Gathering together to share each of our faiths and traditions can provide an amazing opportunity for us to tell them about Jesus.
We often focus on the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. But, have you thought about his ascension and its implication on your faith and journey as a follower of Jesus? On the day Jesus ascended into heaven, he promised his disciples that the Holy Spirit would empower them to be his witnesses.
We are now called by Jesus to be his witnesses. We can share our faith with confidence because the message of salvation through Jesus is TRUE, and we have the Holy Spirit living in us to empower us to be bold witnesses.

In this message, we will unpack the list and highlight why Matthew included a few twists to help us understand why Jesus came into the world that first Christmas.

At first glance, it’s hard to imagine why this 8th Commandment made God’s top 10 list. This instruction seems more like a common courtesy compared to the good theology of the others on the list. You might be surprised at how relevant it is for you today.

In the third part of this series, we see how the third commandment protects God's holy character and helps us in our times of need.
Do you worship idols? Most of us would deny it. Idolatry is something from ancient civilization or restricted to the jungles of tribal Africa. As Pastor Win looks at the 2nd Commandment in our series Life Rules, he helps us see how most of us still have idols in our lives we need to destroy.

Why do Christians get baptized? What is communion all about? We can sometimes get caught up in the routine of participating in these practices that are part of the life of a church, but not really think about what they mean. In this message, Pastor Win unpacks why baptism and communion are important reminders in the life of every follower of Jesus.

We all follow something or someone. If we are not intentional about what shapes our lives, we will be unintentionally formed by the things around us.
In the final part of this series, we will examine what a life intentionally formed by Jesus looks like.
Is there more to following Jesus than just calling yourself a Christian or raising your hand at the end of a service?
Join us for this message as we explore how a relationship with Jesus can be so much more. Discover how being with Jesus can transform your life, helping you overcome distractions and worries and find a deeper, more meaningful existence.
Have you ever wondered what it truly means to do life with Jesus?
In this message, we explore the three ways people often approach religion/faith and look at what Jesus had in mind when He invited people on a journey with Him.
Discover the transformative power of following Jesus in this message.
Are you ready to face eternity? Just before Jesus breathes his last breath on the cross, he teaches us that there is life after death. Unfortunately, many people look in the wrong places to find the path to get there. There is only one way to find eternal life. Pastor Win points us to the pathway in this last message in our Last Words series.
No matter your religious background, we often see religion as a set of rules to keep or simply as a name and tradition we loosely associate with.
But what if following Jesus means something entirely different?
Join us for this sermon as we explore Jesus' last words on the cross and discover how a relationship with Him changes our view of religion forever.
In Canada, churches are closing, yet statistics tell us that people are seeking spirituality more than ever before. Unfortunately, people seek to satisfy their thirst for significance in all the wrong places. Jesus calls out from the cross that he is thirsty. This was not just a physical need he had, he was pointing us to something deeper.
Jesus' thirst reminds us that our souls also thirst, looking for satisfaction. Unfortunately, we often look to quench our thirsty souls in all the wrong places. Only Jesus can meet that spiritual need.
Our world suffers from a loneliness epidemic that worries doctors more and more as it significantly harms your health. We often look for answers to cure this problem on a horizontal level, but what if it is much more profound? What if this loneliness epidemic has a deeper and more spiritual root than you knew?
In this message, we look to a passage in the Bible when Jesus faced a moment of abandonment much worse than we can imagine and learn how that moment changed everything for us.
Relationships are hard, and often, we cannot help but think that since I've been wronged many times, it is time to place myself first. Sadly, when everyone is looking out for number one, we start walking all over each other.
In Jesus' final moments on the cross, He set a beautiful counter-cultural example. In this message, we look at His last words to some of His followers and learn how those words can change our approach to relationships.
Suffering and pain have a way of making us wrestle with ourselves and with God. Who am I becoming in my darkest moments? How should I view God in all of this? Does God care about my suffering? Does He offer any hope in times of deep pain?
Perhaps you've also wrestled with questions like this before. In this message, we look at what Jesus (in His final moments, before His death on the cross) had to say about our suffering.
In this new series leading up to Easter, we are looking at the last words of Jesus as he hung dying on the cross. His first words reveal the incredible grace and mercy God extends to broken, sinful people. Jesus asked his Father in heaven to forgive those who brutally beat him and nailed him to the cross to die. His example is a model for how we need to forgive others. Are you a forgiving person? Learn from Jesus what true forgiveness looks like.
It's easy for us to explain who Jesus was when referring to the Bible, but what can we learn about Jesus without opening the Bible? What does non-biblical history tell us about Jesus, or do they even mention Jesus in ancient history? Let's explore this captivating topic together.
One of the biggest questions we can ask is whether God exists or not. How would we even begin to explain our belief in God? Let's explore if we can reasonably and logically conclude that God exists, and if we can achieve this without opening the Bible!
Have you ever decided to rest well, but then all the questions start? What exactly does rest mean? What should I avoid doing? What can I do?
Rest does not need to be complicated, but it does need to leave you refreshed. In the final part of this series, you learn how to fill all your tanks without making rest a complicated thing.
Humans find it hard to buy into something if we cannot see why it would benefit us. The same goes for God's rules: we struggle to follow them if we do not know why they are good.
So what about rest? It should be evident that we need it, right? But what about taking 1 day out of 7 off to find refreshment in Jesus? Are there real benefits to that?
In the second part of this series, we see how following God's rule for rest has 2 very significant and beautiful benefits for our lives.
These days, most people feel exhausted, stressed out, and burnt out. We are always busy, never unplugged, never off, never quiet, and always unrested. Maybe you have seen the effect of exhaustion in your life where you are less creative, less intuitive, less productive, have a short fuse, and are never really present.
What if there is a different way? What if this problem exists because we are working against the grain of our design?
Join us for the first part of this series as we find a rule of life that can change the trajectory of rest in our lives forever.
We live in a culture where criticism and cynicism seem to be the best way to increase your ‘views’ or ‘likes’ on social media. The Bible calls followers of Jesus to a different standard.
As we begin a new year, Pastor Win challenges us to make a resolution to be people who encourage one another.
The end of a year is usually a time of reflection. We look back to review what we’ve accomplished, and we look ahead to plan for a new year. Unfortunately, the uncertainties of the future can often overwhelm us. Whether it is health issues, financial instability, or broken relationships, we often grow anxious trying to deal with these uncertainties on our own.
In this message, Pastor Win encourages us from the Bible to take our focus off ourselves and look upwards, drawing near to God who is the one who can give us the strength and wisdom to face the uncertainties that lay ahead.
We all know about Santa’s naughty and nice list - when you are nice you get what you want and when you are naughty you get a lump of coal. Sadly we often view much of life, and even faith, through these same filters and it can leave us wondering if we are ever good enough for God to truly love us.
What if we could let go of our fears of being good enough and live with the certainty that God loves us - no naughty or nice list?
Join us for this encouraging Christmas Eve 2023 message.
Did you know that living with joy is a choice? Our culture teaches us that the goal in life is to pursue happiness. The reality is though, that people are seeking happiness but missing out on true joy. Joy is not found in a life free of trouble, conflict, or disappointment. In this third Advent message, discover how to find true lasting joy this Christmas.
Christmas is a time when we reach the end of our busy year; we need rest and peace, and we want to look back and plan for what is ahead. Often, that gives us joy, but some years, it leaves us anxious and stressed, without peace - wondering what will happen next year.
We always hear songs about peace during Christmas time. It’s something all humanity longs for.
In the second part of this Advent series, we see how Jesus brought peace into this world that transcends our circumstances and even our understanding.

Christmas is a time of year that reminds us that God has not abandoned us in this brokenness, but has given us hope! And this is not a 'wishful thinking' kind of hope. The Arrival of Hope took place that first Christmas in a person - and his name is Jesus and he offers you hope today!

We all naturally have an issue with people when their daily walk does not match their talk, whether that person is a political leader, a teacher, a pastor or a parent.
Did you know that Jesus also had an issue with it - and for good reason?
In this message, we explore why our fifth value (“we are doers of the Word”) is so important not only for our personal lives but also for the culture of Grace Church.
When we hear the word “contributor”, it is easy to think of someone who gives money or serves in the church. Although this is part of it, contribution also goes much deeper. Sadly, many Christians never fully experience what it means to be a contributing part of the Body of Christ, as the Church has unintentionally fostered a culture of "consumer Christians" rather than "contributing Christians.”
In the fourth part of this series, we learn about the different ways Christians can contribute to the Body of Christ and the effect it has on the church.
It is so easy to get stuck in the status quo of your life, whether it is good or bad. The problem is that we are more comfortable living in a situation that is hard but known to us than moving forward toward something that could be good for us but which is unknown.
In this message, we learn how we can gain more confidence to move forward towards the purpose God has for us.
Join us as we explore the third value that shapes the culture at Grace Church.
One of the most common complaints the unchurched have against the Christian Church, is that the people are too judgmental. Is that something the Church should be known for?
In this message, we look at the second value here at Grace Church - a value embedded in our name. From a parable that Jesus taught, we learn how to view ourselves and others correctly before God and then get some practical tips on how to deal with people, when our two, often opposing cultures, clash.
In a world where independence is celebrated the Church is called to live counter-culturally and to embrace interconnectedness.
Not only does modern research confirm that people who live interconnected tend to live longer and healthier lives, but from the Bible, we also learn that interconnectedness has many other good benefits for our lives.
Join us as we learn about the first value that shapes the culture at Grace Church.
Should Christians approach work, their clients, and colleagues differently from people who do not follow Jesus?
In the third and final part of this series, we see how following Jesus affects every aspect of your work life, and leaves you happier, more fulfilled and less stressed out.
In the first part of this series, we saw how God designed work as a blessing. Yet, it doesn’t always feel like work is a blessing! Why not?
In the second part, we learn about what went wrong with work - why it doesn’t always feel fulfilling, or like something that brings us joy. Thankfully, all is not lost, and there is hope for our work to be redeemed.
Most of our waking hours are spent working. That leaves us with questions like: Why should I work? Should I get the best-paying job and retire early? Does my work matter to God? How does my work and faith connect?
In the first part of this series, we look at where work came from, whether it is a blessing or a curse, and the good things all kinds of jobs have in common.
Do you have a neighbour who cuts that tiny piece of grass on your side of the property line when he cuts his; or the neighbour who blows his leaves over to your side? How do you act towards that neighbour?
When it comes to your behaviour towards your neighbours, a Christian can either reflect the way of Jesus or the way of the world, but not both.
Join us for a message in which we learn some wisdom from the book of Proverbs, about what it takes to be a good neighbour.
Life can often seem like a series of “good news, bad news” scenarios where the good news is not always good. Life often weighs us down.
If you are weighed down with anxiety and worry about the things in your life that are beyond your ability – take heart – as the apostle Peter commands us – "cast all your anxiety on Him, on Jesus, because he cares for you!" And for all of us – let us put Proverbs 12:25 into practice each day. "A good word make him or her glad." Seek to give these words of encouragement each day that lift the broken-hearted.
How much money is enough? What can it truly do for you? How far can it go? In this message, we see how Solomon, the wealthiest King in Israel's history, viewed money - the good and the bad.
Tune in today to be challenged to correct wrong views you might have of money, and to find a healthy and God-honouring way to use the material blessings God has given you.
We live in a culture that tells us how important we are; that our opinions should be heard; that our accomplishments need to be recognized. The problem arises when this elevated attitude about ourselves makes us look down on others. The Bible calls this problem pride.
In this message Pastor Win continues our series in the book of Proverbs helping us identify symptoms of pride and how to solve this destructive problem.
Fear is something everyone has dealt with; fear of failure, fear of change, fear of the future. Fear can be an extremely depilating emotion.
The Bible tells us that we need to fear God but in this case fear is not a debilitating emotion but a profound reverence and awe of God.
In this message we learn how to restore our awe of God.
Human beings are far less independent than we would like to believe - as social beings, we are influenced by those we surround ourselves with. And in the time of social media, 50 million people have risen to the ranks of “influencers” in 2023.
How is your life shaped and formed by the voices you allow to speak into your life?
In this message, we'll gain some wisdom from the Bible about the effect influence has on our lives and how we can navigate it effectively.
Proverbs 23:10-12 gives the reader/believer a confidence booster in our defender and protector, our Kinsman Redeemer.
Proverbs is more than pithy life statements, they carry a spiritual weight that help us understand God, our relationship with Him and with others, challenging us to live wisely not foolishly.
In Proverbs 18:1-8 we see that our words, our speech, and the language we use with others have consequences. Seek godly wisdom in the use of our words and communications!
We live in what has been called a “post-truth” age: a time when objective facts are less influential than emotions or personal beliefs. But if “truth” is only relative to me, then there is no truth. In contrast, Proverbs 3:5,6 tells us how to get wisdom.
In our new summer series, Words to Make You Wise, we will be exploring the book of Proverbs. What better way to start off this series than at the beginning.
In this message we look at the first chapter of Proverbs where the reader is invited to consider wisdom as not just a nice idea, but something that is critical to one's faith.
In the age we live in, people always look for ways to make life a little easier: AI that helps us write complicated letters, E-bikes that make pedaling less straining, or gas-powered cultivators to save you from the hard yard work.
Yet, many things in life cannot be solved by technological advancements. So, we try to rise above challenges like addiction, brokenness, unforgiveness and pain. But what if you did not have to do it on your own? What if you could have a helper, also for the most challenging things in your life?
In the final part of this series, we see how the all-powerful Holy Spirit wants to empower us so that we don’t have to live powerless lives.
Did you ever copy what your dad did when you were a kid? Maybe you would try to walk in his big footprints on the beach or want to dress the same as him. Father's have an incredible influence over their children and because of that, a great responsibility as well.
Join us for this Father's Day message as we look at three different ways that the Bible instructs father's on how to influence their children.
Have you ever wondered why you don’t see more of the work of the Holy Spirit in your life? Maybe you pray for a fresh infilling of His Spirit, but your life seems to remain without significant spiritual fruit.
In the 3rd part of this series, we look at 4 texts in the Bible that specifically talk about this issue: how and why we resist the Holy Spirit and His work in our lives.
Millennials and Gen Z are said to be the most spiritual generations to have ever lived, yet also the least religious. These kinds of stats speak of a spiritual thirst that exists in the lives of so many people, for which they often find no quenching.
In the second part of this series, we see how Jesus invites all who have a spiritual thirst to find what they are looking for in Him and the Holy Spirit.
The tradition, culture and churches you grew up in probably influenced your view of who the Holy Spirit is. Sadly, Christians often place the Spirit in that box of tradition even when it is not completely true. In this series we’ll learn from the Bible not only who the Holy Spirit is, but also how we receive Him, grow in Him, how we can work against Him and about His purpose in our lives.
In this first part of the series, we unpack the foundational principles about who the Holy Spirit is, so we can build our understanding of Him on a solid foundation.
We all have some fond memories from our past - things that make us smile with nostalgia and good feelings. Likewise, we all have some difficult memories from our past - cringe-worthy things that bring feelings of guilt, regret and sadness. Although God is able to forgive and forget, we have a hard time doing the same. 1 Samuel 12 is the story of Samuel's farewell as he passes on the leadership of the Israelite people to their new king, In his farewell, he gives us some principles in how to deal with our past.
The Bible gives us many examples of mothers who had a significant influence. Moses' mother, Jochebed, was one of those women. She demonstrated incredible courage, unwavering faith, and she anchored her hope in the God of Israel to protect her son and use him for his great purpose.
Desperation can lead us to extreme action, where our focus often gets stuck on the hardship, fear or pain causing it. Sadly, whatever has our attention has the potential to shape our lives - and so we become mere products of the desperate moments of our lives.
In the final part of this series we learn from a King in the Bible that decided that His desperation would drive Him to something better: a place of worship.
Join us for the final part of the series, where we see how worship can get us through even the most anxious of times.
What do you think of when you hear the word: worship? Music, singing, maybe even praying?! What if worship is more than all of that? What if it is not just a simple action, but your whole being responding to what you value most? If so, it could have the potential to shape who you are.
In the third part of this series, we look at a definition of worship in the Bible that puts it into perspective.
If you were created to worship, you will naturally worship something. The problem is that you can worship anything, but not all worship is good for you!
In the second part of this series, we see how certain wrong assumptions and ideas can prevent us from true and good worship. We will learn how Jesus wants to set us free and rectify our view so that we can worship in a new and life-giving way.
Whether you consider yourself a worshipping kind of person or not, you cannot help but do it! Worship is your natural response to what you value most.
In the first part of this series, you'll get the opportunity to re-evaluate where your affection lies and learn how you can make sure that your worship is directed towards what is most important.
Jesus is alive, and that can change everything for you! Join us for this Easter Sunday message where we see how the resurrection of Jesus invites us into a life we could not know without Him!
How can Good Friday be good? It is the day Jesus was hanging nailed to a cross, while leaders and soldiers mocked Him and challenged Him to save Himself from the cross.
Good Friday is good because although it would have been in Jesus’ power to save Himself from that cross, He chose not to. It was not His weakness that prevented Him from saving Himself, but the power of His love for you.
Join us for this Good Friday message, where we learn how looking to Jesus can change your life forever.
Neighbouring is more than simply meeting a temporary need someone might have. It is about building relationships with those God has placed around you. But how do we build healthy relationships with strangers?
In the final part of this series, we learn from the Parable of the Good Samaritan how we can move from acquaintance to a relationship with healthy boundaries.
Note: We had some audio issues during this livestream.
So, Jesus said you are supposed to love your neighbour... but did He know how difficult my neighbour is, how different, how weird? Did He know that I do not like to talk to strangers, or that I’m an introvert? Did He know how busy I am and how many important things there are in my life? Did He know that there are numerous different barriers between my neighbours and I?
In the second part of this series, we learn from a parable of Jesus (story with a deeper meaning), how we can overcome the barriers between our neighbours and us.
What makes a community a great place to live in? A perfect lawn, a great house, our good neighbours? Few things can make a community feel like home as much as great neighbours. The Great Commandment in the Bible teaches us to love our neighbours as ourselves - but what does that actually mean? Does that mean the people on my block - those around me? It cannot be that simple, or can it?
In this series we look at what neighbouring should look like from a Christian perspective and examine how we often imprint our own preferences onto this rule for our lives.
Have you ever said “no” to God? Moses did when God called Him to live a life of purpose. Sadly, you and I often do the same by living as if what Jesus asked us to do is simply metaphorical. Christians often say they are servants of Jesus, but then don’t do the “serving” He is asking them to do.
In the last part of this series, you'll be encouraged to stop making excuses and start living an "I Can" life. Don't miss out on the purpose God created you for.
What can you do when you feel like there is shame, weakness or disability in your life that makes you not suited to be loved or used by God?
In the 4th part of this series, we see how Moses used a disability as an excuse to hide from the purpose God had for him. God is not surprised by his weakness and helps him see life from a different perspective.
Join us as we learn how our weakness is not God's inability.
At some point we all get trapped in a comfort zone. Not simply for the comfort of it but because stepping out of it would mean that what I have to offer could be rejected as "not enough". No one wants to hear that their love, skills or time is not valued.
In the third part of this series we learn how to overcome a scarcity mindset and entrust God with what we have for His purpose.
What is holding you back from taking your next step in your walk with God - whether that is a first step in following Jesus or a step of complete surrender? Could it be all the questions you wrestle with and have not been able to find suitable answers for?
In the second part of this series we see that when Moses encountered God, He answered every question Moses could ever have asked with three simple words. Knowing these three words could change your view of God and your relationship with Him forever.
Have you ever wondered what it takes to be used by God in amazing ways? Maybe you feel like you can never be someone like that - that you are just a nobody.
In this series, we look at five excuses a man, Moses, made when God called Him to save His people thousands of years ago. By learning from his excuses and God's answers to Him, we see how God views us and chooses to use us despite our shortcomings.
We are all trying to get somewhere in life we have never been before. That is pretty scary as we need to make decisions now, but we'll only experience the outcomes (good or bad) later on in life.
What if we could get assistance from someone who not only knows where each path leads but can also direct us along the right path? Would you follow such a guide if it means that you can avoid getting lost in life and paying the price for it?
In the final part of this series, we look at a teaching of Jesus that helps us find the guidance we need to navigate the best paths in life.
Wouldn’t life be so much easier if we could get re-dos? If only we could "save" at any point and when problems arise, we simply reload to an earlier time. Sadly, there are no reloads in life.
Each person heads down a path in a specific direction and no matter how good that path might seem, danger sometimes creeps in our way. What do you do when you see danger on the horizon? Do you play chicken and head straight for it?
In the third part of this series, we learn about an alternative response to danger that will leave us less broken, exhausted and defeated.
Have you ever ended up at a place in your life that you didn’t plan for and where you never wanted to be? Well, we have all been there at some point!
In the second part of The Path series, we learn from the Bible that our attention affects our direction significantly.
How do you get from where you are to where you want to be? Are New Year’s resolutions, goals or good intentions enough? If it was that simple, wouldn’t most people have been exactly where they wanted to be already?
In the first part of this series, we learn from the book of Proverbs about a simple life principle that determines where we are heading.
We all seek to be loved, especially in our relationships, and church is no different. In this message we read what true love is and how the Church is to show that love to one another.
Life is a journey and in this last Christmas message, we discover that a group of wise men set out on a journey to find Jesus. We see the contrast in how these wise men and King Herod each responded to the arrival of the promised Saviour - Jesus the Messiah.
A new year is a time to reflect on the direction of our life and changes we may need to make to achieve our goals. As we begin a new year, follow the wise men on their journey of faith where they discovered Jesus and it changed their lives forever.
Some things in life make us feel insignificant, like: a boss overlooking your promotion; a coach not putting you in the game; or a failed attempt at something you prepared for. Other times, even success can leave us feeling empty and lacking a true sense of significance.
What if Christmas could change all of that?
In this Christmas message, we see in the Bible how the life of one woman who felt insignificant changed dramatically after her encounter with the very first Christmas.
Christmas can become a very hectic time of year because there are so many things to do: decorating the house, shopping for gifts, baking Christmas treats, parties to attend. Marketing and media make sure we don’t miss “commercial” Christmas – but are we so distracted that we miss the Christ of Christmas?
In this message, we look at 2 different groups of people: the residents of Bethlehem, so busy with life they missed what God was doing right there in their own town; and the shepherds – simple, humble men who were open to hearing God’s message, hurried to see the newborn Saviour, and then told everyone in the town the amazing things God had done for them. Let’s not let distractions make us miss Jesus this Christmas.
For many people the Christmas Season is a time of fun, family, hope and laughter. For others it is a time that reminds them of broken relationships, deep loss and hurt. It is also a time during which people naturally expect a "Christmas Miracle".
In the first part of this Christmas series, we learn from the example of an older couple in the Bible, that was also awaiting a miracle, how we can change our outlook and habits during this season to live with hope and expectation despite our current life circumstances.
Have you ever wondered why a group of people would film someone in need instead of simply helping them? That is a phenomenon called the bystander effect - it is when people’s sense of personal responsibility is diffused in a group setting.
In the last part of the Heart for the House series, we see how an encounter with the living God calls us to action and rids our lives of the bystander effect.
Have you ever fallen for the trap of buying something you don’t need because the marketer was so passionate about the product that you couldn’t resist? There is nothing as contagious as passion!
In this message, we look at how King Solomon’s passion drove the temple-building project and we learn how to grow in our passion for God’s Kingdom and Church.
Have you ever thought about how your life has been built on the foundations of those who have gone before you - parents, leaders in industry, teachers, etc? Just as those who have gone before you set you up for success or failure by their legacy, you too are leaving a legacy that will impact generations to come.
Join us for the 90th anniversary of Grace Church where we remember those who have gone before us and dream about what is still to come.
Each person on earth has gone through some sort of discomfort, difficult season, or hardship in their life and when looking back, can now see how it shaped them and taught them valuable lessons.
In the final part of the No Pain No Gain series, we learn about 4 great lessons discomfort can teach us. It is up to you: will you allow pain to destroy you, or will you grow through it?
Watch any ultra marathon and you’ll soon see people dropping out of the race and other people running across the finish line. Not only does preparation play a big role, but also the attitude athletes have toward the pain they will experience on the road.
In the second part of this series, we discover the big impact that attitude has on us during seasons of discomfort and pain. From the life of Joseph (a young man we read about in the Bible) we learn about four big attitudes we can have that will help us push past our hardship into a better tomorrow.
Have you ever watched an advertisement for a product (whether an electric shaver, a boat, or a new kitchen aid) and thought to yourself that if only you could add this comfort to your life, you’ll be happier? In our world, comfort is viewed as an external source that will bring us internal happiness - but maybe you don’t feel happy even though you have added more comfort to your life?
In the first part of this series, we examine why comfort is overrated and tends to underdeliver on its promises. We also learn from the Bible that there is a better way to address this deep seated problem.
God made each of us with a body, mind and spirit. We often talk about the importance of taking care of our body, being healthy, exercising, but we don't talk about our mental wellbeing. Mental Health is something the church needs to talk about. Listen to Allan as he shares his own personal mental health journey and how we too can take steps to care for our whole self.
There is no substitute for uninterrupted quality time in any healthy relationship. What if our relationship with God is not any different? What if we feel disconnected from God because our relationship is missing a foundational building block?
In the final part of this series, we look at the earthly habits Jesus had that served as a foundation for everything He did.
In this day-and-age you might wonder if church service attendance is still relevant, important and needed. Furthermore, online church services have made it much easier to view a service in the comfort of our homes rather than having to go to a meeting of people.
In the fifth part of this series, we learn about the value that meeting together could have on your life.
Have you ever wondered if you are in a good place in your life to be more generous, to give and serve above what could be expected of you?
In the forth part of this series, we learn how a not-so-perfect woman went above-and-beyond to serve Jesus. Not only did she gain much in return, but she also impacted those around her in a life-changing way.
Tune in to this message to discover how your life can make a bigger impact, than you ever though possible.
Ever heard the saying: “it takes a village to raise a child”? That saying captures so much truth about our path of growth in life. We were not created to live as individual-isolated persons, but to grow together in community.
In the third part of this series, we learn from the New Testament, how authentic community can be beneficial to us all.
Have you ever wondered if you can truly make a difference in the world? Although you might not be able to change the world by yourself, you can make a difference in someone’s life.
In the second part of the series based on the new vision of Grace Church, we learn how to practically impact the lives of strangers in a significant way. It is not as hard as you might think!
Fall is here, a new school year just started and we’re all planning how to make the most of the rest of the year. What move do you need to make to live a life of purpose and passion?
In this series, based on the new vision for Grace Church, we explore six movements we can all make to grow closer to Jesus and the plan He has for our lives.
Although you might not be able to change the world on your own, together we can make a huge difference!
We all convince ourselves at times that we can hide our sins from God and in doing so we sin by hiding and covering up our sin. The energy and time it takes to do this are heavy and burdensome and we become a different person in the process. In this final message of our Summer Mix we answer the question "Can we run from the consequences of our sin?"
In this message, our guest speaker, AGC President Bill Allan, walks through a short but powerful passage. Philippians 4:4-9 is a passage many are familiar with and yet we often need to be reminded over and over of the truth it proclaims. In just these 6 verses there is so much hope and joy that can be found no matter what circumstance you are facing right now.
What do a snake, a scare and salvation have in common? More than you might know!
In this special message for our Summer Campers, we learn from a story in the Old Testament how our focus can determine our future.
Have you ever felt like the challenges you are facing in life are at test? As followers of Jesus, God sometimes tests us to help strengthen our faith. In this message we learn from Abraham who was tested by God to do something unthinkable...yet he obeyed and God blessed him beyond what he could imagine.
We all have had or are going through situations in our life that are out of our control. Leaving us with a heavy burden that overtakes our thoughts and worries. This message will answer the question, "How does God respond to us in our most desperate times?".
Have you ever made plans for your future that didn’t play out the way you hoped due to circumstances beyond your control?
Here is the big question: why do we keep making plans if we do not really know what tomorrow holds? Since it goes beyond our human nature to live life without any future plans; is there a different way to plan that could lead us down a path of purpose and meaning even in uncertain circumstances?
Explore this conversation with us as we look for answers from the Bible and the book of James.
Have you ever been in a season of uncertainty? Have you ever worried about your future and what is to come? Life is often full of uncertainty and unknowns. Listen to Sunday’s message as our guest speaker, Tom Lambshead, shares with us What to Do When You Don’t Know What to Do.
Every single one of us, at some point in our lives, has been affected by depression, anxiety, despair, whether directly or indirectly. While there is no simple or easy fix, we can be comforted by the fact that even people God used to do mighty things also faced dark days.
In this message, we look at a moment in Elijah the prophet's life where he faced some of his darkest days, even after experiencing great victory. From his life we can see how God is with us even when we are in a pit of despair with no hope for the future.
Everyday we make important decisions that affect our lives. The consequences of our decisions can lead to great rewards or significant pain and hardship.
In this first message in our Summer Mix series, we learn what happens when a man named Abraham made some good and bad decisions. In the end, the difference was whether he was willing to trust God and take him at his word.
Where does Revival start? Does it start with our frustration with the brokenness of the world? Does it start with the person on the other side of the church pews?
In the final message of the Revival series, we learn how God is looking for individual people willing to step up and stand in the gap for His church in need of Revival.
Have you ever wondered what your life would look like if Holy Spirit Revival broke out in your church today?
In the forth part of this series, we look at a man in the Bible whose life was changed 180 degrees in an instant, after encountering Jesus and learn from his story how such an encounter could change our story.
Why does revival come to the Church every couple of generations? Is it because you are tired of the apathetic state of the Church and God simply obeyed your request?
Here is the bigger question: Why can't the church simply remain in a state of passion in the first place?
What if God sends revival because He knows that our wayward hearts will slowly drift away from Him over time?
In the third message of this series, we learn about three purposes God has with Revival.
If revival is God’s sovereign work, does it mean that the Church only needs to sit back and wait, or is there something we need to be doing in the waiting?
In the second part of this series, we learn that although revival is the sovereign work of God, the Church has a responsibility and requirements to meet in order to see revival come.
Have you ever heard Christians use the term “revival” before? Maybe they used it to talk about a mid-week gathering, a powerful worship night or a Sunday service with above-average attendance?
Although all of these things might be great, it is not revival. What if God had something much more in store for His church than what we are currently experiencing? What if it is revival?
In the first part of this series, we look at a definition of revival that goes beyond the simple to give us a deeper understanding of God's heart for His church.
Have you ever been in a situation that seemed hopeless? How did you respond? Did it shake your faith, or strengthen it? In this message, Rev. Bill Allan, President of the AGC, shares from Jeremiah 32 reminding us that we serve a God of hope. What uncertainties about the future concern you? Check out how this OT passage encourage you to trust God, even in times of difficulty.
As a Christian, how do we run the race of faith? What do we need to do to persevere? Who do we turn to when we want to quit?
In the last part of "What is Faith" we will answer those questions as we look to God's word and how without Him we cannot start the race.
If you are a Christian and believe in God, does that mean that everything in life will always be well? Is the aim of faith a life of ease, blessing and bounty?
What do we then do when things go wrong in the lives of believers? How do we make sense of that? Did God desert you, or is He not dependable?
In the 4th part of the “What is Faith” series, we dig deeper into these questions and find answers from the Bible that help us approach these questions from a different perspective.
What is your purpose? Is it to grow up, grow old and die? No, Christians believe that God created each of us for a purpose and plan greater than we can ever imagine. You are here for a reason!
In the 3rd part of this series, we look at four things that often prevent us from stepping into God’s plan for our lives and how faith helps us to overcome that.
Is there a difference between religion and a relationship with Jesus? Probably more than you thought! Although both can look pretty similar, there are significant differences that will determine what your relationship with God might be.
In the second part of the “What is Faith?” series, we learn about the difference between religion and a relationship with God from the example of six people mentioned in the book of Hebrews that had an intimate relationship with God.
Do you struggle with the concept of faith, feeling like it does not make sense and might just be archaic superstition? In the first part of the series, "What is Faith?", we start our search for an answer in the Bible book Hebrews, where a clear argument is made that the Christian faith is so much more that just grasping at straw. How would your life be different if you had faith without limits?
Why are you listening to an Easter message? Is it because of tradition or religious duty? What if there was more waiting for us in a relationship with Jesus than mere religion and rules? Sadly, we so easily settle for less than all God wants for our lives because of our busyness that distracts us from seeing the beauty of Jesus. How can we get to a place in our lives where we can truly live all that is waiting for us in Jesus’ resurrection? In this Easter Sunday message, we learn some practical lessons from 2 travellers that encountered Jesus on a Sunday walk, but did not recognize Him.
Have you ever really contemplated what it would mean if the cross of Jesus was not for you?
In this Good Friday message we look at Jesus and His incredible sacrifice, from the shoes of a man that encountered Jesus on that Friday morning. He received more mercy, compassion and freedom than he could have ever hoped for.
People have great influence over us. Have you ever given in to peer pressure? Crowds can sway the way we think or act, even what we believe. Imagine what it would be like to stand in the shoes of someone who was in the crowd that first Palm Sunday. How would you react as Jesus rode into Jerusalem?
Do you consider yourself to be rich or poor? Maybe you feel like you are just somewhere in the middle?! Here is the bigger question: what is the purpose of the blessings you have received - and on what path does that purpose set you for the future?
In the last part of this series, we learn about some warnings and directions given in the Bible for the use of money that will set us on a beautiful path for the future, where we can “take hold of the life that is truly life".
Have you ever asked yourself how much money would be enough? Our culture spends billions on marketing telling us we need more and more stuff. The Bible offers a different perspective. It teaches us that when we have a relationship with Jesus, all our deepest needs are met in him. To get right to the Heart of the Matter, we need to realize that the antidote to never feeling like we have enough is contentment.
You have probably felt the physical impact of debt on your life: sleepless nights, anxiety, stress, hair loss and even ulcers. Have you ever thought about how debt might be impacting your spiritual life?
In the second part of this series, we look at the heart of the matter and learn what the Bible teaches about debt’s place in our lives.
What would you like to take to heaven with you if you died today? Although we know that nothing is going with us, we often live as if life is all about the "stuff" we accumulate in our short time on earth.
In the first part of the new series, The Heart of the Matter, we learn how a Biblical understanding of Stewardship can change the way we view our possessions, time and even talents.
Who are the hardest people to love? Those who hurt you, mistreat you, call you names and make you feel worthless; those that can be labelled as your enemies! The world tells us that we shouldn’t waste our time loving our enemies - if they are not for you, cancel them!
Jesus had something different to say: He told His followers not just to refrain from doing evil, but to actively love their enemies. Why? Can anything good come from loving our enemies?
In the last message of the Love Rules series, we learn from Jesus why and how we should love our enemies.
Many of the relationships with the biggest impact on your life will be the friendships your form over the years. The Bible is full of stories of friendship that helped people flourish and become all God intended them to be. Sadly, friendship can also have the opposite effect - it can leave us broken, disappointed and further from God’s purpose for our lives.
In this message, you will learn about God’s rules for friendship that will help you set up relationships in such a way that the right people will have the right kind of influence on you.
Your family is probably perfect, right? No?!
Well, most families aren't, because when you throw a bunch of imperfect people into one house, you are bound to end up with a bit of a mess.
In the third part of the Love Rules series, we learn an old secret to healthy family relations.
Marriage is one of the deepest and most beautiful relationships humans can have. Sadly, it doesn’t always reflect that kind of beauty anymore; divorce rates are going up and more and more people are avoiding marriage altogether.
What if there was a simple rule that could help us overcome some of the obstacles we face in marriages every day?
In this message, a day before Valentine’s Day, we look at a rule in the Bible that will help our marriages flourish and grow.
People have been obsessed with love since the beginning of time - more books have been written, movies directed and songs sung about love than any other topic under the sun. What if our search for the “perfect” love came from a place deep inside our souls that long for a kind of love that no human can give us?
In the first part of this series we look at the deepest love relationship we can have - the love between us and God; and also why we sometimes feel disconnected from that kind of love.
Everyone knows that you need to break from bad habits - but don't you make resolutions based on good habits you should add to your life? Maybe that is because not doing the right thing is just as destructive as constantly living with the bad things in our lives.
In the last part of the "Breaking the Bad" series, we learn how important it is to break from neglect.
Every person struggles with some kind of bad behaviour; even Christians who have been following Jesus for a long time. Maybe you have looked for quick fixes in self-help articles and videos, only to find that it doesn't lead to lasting change. In this message, you'll learn from the Bible how you can break from bad behaviour by acknowledging your shortcomings and looking for help from someone that can help you change on the heart level.
We all know the saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me”, and we all know that it isn’t true! Words have incredible power to make or break us. Everyone carries scars from harmful words that were spoken over them sometime during their lives.
In the second part of this series, we learn what we can do when we are on the receiving side of harmful words; and what we can do to prevent us from being the ones that dish out the harmful words.
Everyone struggles with bad habits from time to time. One of the most toxic habits is bad thought patterns: negative thoughts, fearful thoughts, thoughts of discontentment and comparison, etc. These thought patterns fill us with fear and anxiety.
In the first part of the "Breaking the Bad" series, we look at three practical steps you can take to break from bad thought patterns and start living the life God intended you to live. The battle for most things in life starts in your mind! So, let’s break from bad thought patterns!
Ephesians 5:15-21
Learning to walk in a way that is worthy of the calling which we have been called.
The most common way to lose something of value is not to throw it away but to misplace it. The same is true for our faith - for our relationship with Jesus.
In the last part of this series, we look at a moment in the life of Mary and Joseph, when they lost Jesus and how they found Him again.
Christmas might be a time of year that gives you hope, or it could be a reminder of the pain and bad stuff that happened over the past 12 months. In times like that, we need hope the most but it is also when hope feels the most unattainable.
What if hope was available to you? What if it was just a choice away?
In this Christmas Eve message, we see how Jesus came to earth to bring us hope - hope that is available to you!
It’s not easy to miss Christmas; there are trees, lights and decorations everywhere. It is, however, easy to miss the greatest Gift the world has ever received. You can miss out on the true joy, peace and hope that comes with Christmas if you miss Christ, the reason for our Christmas season. In this message, we look at the lives of two groups of people that each had the opportunity to encounter Jesus at His birth but ended up heading in different directions due to the focus of their lives.
What is the most amazing gift you ever received? Most people look for things or relationships or activities to meet their need for significance, but in the end, these will always disappoint us. There is only one gift that will truly satisfy our deepest need for love, purpose and significance: His Name Is Jesus!
Sharing Jesus with your friends, family and co-workers can seem like a daunting task that you are not equipped or trained for. But, did you ever think that you might not be able to receive training for it, as people are inherently different and are not all at the same place in their walk with God? In the last message of the Plus 1 series, we look at some practical ideas that will help you to share Jesus with your "one".
What does it take to be a disciple maker? A theological degree, excellent Bible knowledge or knowing the answer to every question someone might ask you about the Bible and Jesus? What if it was much simpler? In this message we see that evangelism starts with a simple prayer, a prayer for one.
When the Church of Jesus is out of sync with His mission and plan, confusion, doubt, irritation and conflict arise. Jesus came to earth with a mission, and He created the Church to continue His mission. In the second part of "Plus 1” series, we examine how the simple mission of Jesus will change our perspective on our own purpose and the purpose of the Church forever.
Without thinking twice, most people will look at the world through the lens of self; that leads us to assign value to people based on what we believe they can do for us. In this message, we are reminded that God doesn’t assign value based on what you have done, but on His love for you - on what He has already done. You will be challenged to put on some new lenses and learn to view yourself and others differently.
Have you ever been in a spot where your strength failed, and you had to depend on someone else? The fact is that we all have to rely on someone stronger than ourselves many times in life. In the last part of our “Strong and Courageous” series, we discover why Jesus is worthy of our dependence and learn how we can position ourselves to remain dependent on Him.
What do you do when you face a situation bigger than you can handle? Do you work harder and give more, only to find out that it is still not enough? In this message, we look at a story from the life of Joshua, where he got to the end of what was possible for him and discovered what is possible for God through a bold prayer he prayed.
Rules don't always make sense; till we feel the pain of not following rules that existed for our benefit. In the second part of the "Strong & Courageous" series, we learn from the life of Joshua how obedience to God will help us face impossible situations in our future with strength and courage.
The future can be uncertain - that uncertainty often leaves us paralyzed with fear. What if we can head into the future with strength and courage? In the first part of this series, we look at a story from the life of Joshua to see how looking back and remembering God's faithfulness in the past can help us face the future with boldness.
All healthy things grow, whether we talk of plants, children, businesses or investments. Shouldn't the same be true for the Church of Jesus? What if instead of asking what we can do to make the church grow, we ask what is preventing the church from being healthy?
In today's message we look at two short parables to get a better understanding of God's plan for His Kingdom and Church.
Listen as Pastor Win shares with us from Luke 18 about what it means to come before God with a humble heart.
Did you ever think that God actually cares about how you use your time, talents, opportunities and money? In this message, we learn from the parable (an illustration Jesus used to explain a deeper spiritual meaning) of the Ten Minas that Jesus wants us to use whatever gifts and opportunities He has given us in alignment with His Kingdom purpose.
