This podcast will have multiple aspects. One it will be a platform to encourage and edify people, second, I will interview some of the amazing associates I work with at Walmart and third, a place to talk about issues that are important to me. It will be real and raw. The postings on this site are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Walmart
In this episode, which is much more lighthearted, I talk about the memories I have of food and fellowship with friends and family growing up, but touch on the humble beginnings of my Culinary career and why I wanted to do that for a career. The world is a crazy place right now and there is so much division in the world, if we would just sit down, break bread and have a meal together I think we would find we have much more in common that not. We do not have to agree in things, but lets sit down and have a conversation. A civil conversation and share memories and laughs.
I continue my conversation about being a trans person and also being one of a strong faith...The most verbal abuse I have gotten during my transition is not from the transphobic people, but the Christian community. It is not that we want to walk away from church, but what we see represented is not something we want a part of. Missing the mark of the teachings of Jesus by a wide margin. We all have to do better, Christian and non Christian alike.
I heard a quote last week that absolutely blew my mind, it was "To be visible, means we have to allow ourselves to be vulnerable. There is so much power in that quote that I had to chat about it and share some thoughts on it. I hope you get as much from it as I did.
is it possible to be a part of the LGBT community and be a Christian? It absolutely is, and regardless of what the at times toxic church will tell you God does love you just as you are!! I am doing a series on how being a person of strong faith played a big role in the dysphoria and anxiety I struggled with as someone who transitioned. Thanks for coming along on the journey.
This episode is kind of catching up on the projects I have going, the purpose to all of this as well as letting others know, they are not alone in the hidden battles we all face, but few ever talk about. I am hoping to star a trend where people can be open and create communities where they can share and listen and be there for others. We all have a unique piece to this puzzle called life.
In part one of this episode I start to tell a little bit about my background and what drives my passion and why I do what I do. The journey has not been easy, but it is all worth it in the end. I love the diversity within Walmart and I have blessed to get to know so many amazing folks and learn about cultures I never had known about before. I am truly blessed to work here and I am excited to see what is coming in the future!! And remember, you are amazing and your worth and value is immeasurable!! Happy Holidays!! Merry Christmas!!
In this short intro podcast I talk a little bit about me, the vision for this podcast and try to set the tone of positivity, encouragement and the building up of people I meet everyday. And as I interview people, I want to get to know them beyond the surface level of their lives. I want to know what makes them tick. What are their dreams? Their passions? and being a foodie from way back. What would be your last meal and why.
