It has been a few weeks since I have posted my results. So far over the past three weeks I am ranking for more keywords and my average search results have improved. I will keep you posted with more updates in the next couple of weeks.
There are a couple different ways you can create an HTML sitemap. The easiest is to use a plugin if your CMS is WordPress but you could waste time trying to find the perfect plugin. For example, I created this HTML sitemap for my website using Elementor. All I did was type sitemap into the search box, put the icon on the page and made a few changes. It was very simple but it's not the fanciest design.

I have been using conversion.ai for the past couple of weeks and I have found it to be very beneficial. It does lots of things great but it still has a hard time with certain topics. If you haven't seen conversion.ai yet, check it out and you might find a good use for it.
Learn how to check your search results using the Google Search Console and find out where your impressions are coming from. You can filter by pages, locations, device and more.
I have updated almost 200 pages now using the Surfer SEO Audit function. Overall, I want to say my results have improved. I am seeing more keywords get ranked but my main keywords have dropped for other pages. I believe this drop is due to the page getting updated and reindexed. I will keep you posted on my overall results in the next week.
If you are having trouble talking with clients about their SEO goals, think of a topic you can relate SEO to. For example, I can compare fitness and SEO as they are almost identical. You have to first start with a good foundation and you can build on that foundation to reach your goals but most goals will take time and hard work to be achieved.
I have now audited 80 pages on this site Auto Hail Repair News and I can tell that my rankings are higher if my content score is higher. If my content score is low and the page is in a competitive market, they are not ranking. I will keep you updated on the results as they come in.

You can write a piece of content, see how your content score relates to your competitors and check out the Domain Ranking and see what you might need to do in order to out rank them. There are lots of other "cool" features that I am still learning.

I found a web scraping tool called Octoparse that works great for scrapping e-commerce information. It's very easy to use and you can follow all the steps in this video. Welcome back to Casey's SEO, so this is an update from my previous episode, where i was trying to find a good scraping tool for a potential project that i may get into here in the future. So basically, i wanted to add a like a woocommerce site to my WordPress website that i currently have right now and i was just trying to think of what is a easier way to do this. So if i did go into this little project, it's probably going to be more of an affiliate type of site. So it's none of my own products. I can basically take all these products off of somebody else's site and potentially put the vote, put them on mine and sell them.
That is for details later on, and i will get into that if i go this direction in the future, but i didn't want to spend hours and hours doing all this manual labor to potentially put up like a thousand different items. So i wanted to find a way to scrape this information, so it would make it a lot easier. Now i did find a cool little piece of software. That almost did everything that i wanted it to do. It's not the software's fault and we'll get into that.
But i found octoparse so on the previous episode, i put up a link that had multiple different um pieces of software that you could potentially use. All of them are a little bit different. I tried a different one. I cannot even remember the name, but it wasn't going to fit my needs. Then i kept doing a little bit more research on the old web interweb here and i found octoparse that actually solved all my problems, so you can go ahead and download this.
You can use everything for free, the only part that i noticed um, where you could get yourself into a little problem to where it's not free is. It goes and saves all the tasks that you do and you only get. I think 10 tasks that you can save at once, but just go ahead and delete them, and then you can use 10 more. So you won't have a problem but, like i said, free to use it's a separate piece of software, so you'll download it from their website and i will put the link up under the post here but go ahead, download it and then you can basically take any Type of website that you want the website that i tried to scrape to begin with was using shopify and they had their images set up differently. So their images like, if you scrolled over them, they got larger and I've noticed before with this website.
They're kind of a pain in the butt to take off of their website on some of them. I would have to actually use like uh snagit from was it techcrunch or camtasia the company that makes camtasia, and then i would just basically screenshot them and cut them and add them edit them and use them. So i was not able to get a link to the image off of there, but you can still scrape all the other information so that one didn't work. But i tried it on a different website that i don't know what shopping cart they were using, but it gave you all the links to all the images all the the titles it gave you all the information that would give you. You know a 90 percent head start now.
What you can do is when you get all those images all the image links you can use. I haven't done this yet, but i think you can use a program from chrome and it shows you how and this other link that I'm going to be posting for you and you can just put all the links in there and then it will download all the Images for you, so you have all those to your disposal right away. So pretty simple! It should save you a lot of time if that's something that you're looking to do but definitely checked out, octopars, and my guess is: if you need it to go way in depth and scrape a lot a lot of content, i mean you can pay for one Of their other packages, but for me the free version worked, i got everything i needed and then, if i do go into this little other project, i will definitely let you guys know if it was just thought and i wanted to see what piece of software out There would work for this little project, so that is it for today. Welcome to Casey's SEO so for today just real quick. I had an idea last night and this is going to be part of my website, but i was thinking if i would be able to basically put a woocommerce site onto my site now. Obviously i know i can I've worked with commerce for a very very long time. But i wonder if i can do this quickly, because essentially it's going to be kind of more of an affiliate type site, because i don't want to purchase any of the products myself. But if I'm going to be using it, my guess is: there's probably going to be around.
I don't know 500 to 1000 products. I i really don't want to spend too much time doing this feeling kind of lazy right the moment. So i wonder if i can go ahead and actually scrape some of these pages, not actually some but all of these pages. So if i can get some, if i can get pictures text and everything that i need very easily, I'm going to go ahead and look into it. So for right now just went ahead and tried to type in what are some good scraping tools and i found a website.
We got guru, guru, 99.com, to be honest, haven't really looked at it yet, but this is the 15 best web scraping tools for data extraction. In 2021, so I'm going to go ahead and look through all of these sites and give you guys some feedback to see if any of this works. So once again, I'm going to probably be scraping a thousand pages with images text. I don't know how deep these can go.
I don't know if they can go if they can do anything in the back end. If there's any metadata, it can scrape, i wouldn't think so from well. Maybe maybe it may all just depend on the program and how much money you want to spend, but i think, even if this cost you know 50 to 200, if they could scrape everything and put it in a format. That would still be easy for me to put up on wordpress i it would definitely be worth it because it's going to end up taking, i would still say a few weeks of solid work to create you know a thousand new pages of product and then create Categories and everything else i would rather just kind of get it with a push of a button. So if you guys have ever used a good scraping piece of software here, that would do what i am looking for.
Please let me know - and i will definitely check it out, but for right now I'm going to go ahead and look through these different programs to see if anything would fit. My needs probably go ahead and try it out here in the next few days, and i will keep you updated. Content Gorilla is really easy to use and I actually use it to improve my SEO with this podcast. If this is something that you need, make sure to try it out. Also, this is not an affiliate link, it's just a app/plugin that I use.
Welcome to Casey's SEO today, i just want to fill you guys in with one plug-in that I'm using for WordPress that actually helps me out quite a bit for basically stuff. You would never really want, but it is very, very useful and this plugin is content gorilla. So i bought this off of one of those clickbank marketing type of people. Sometimes you can run into a good plug-in off of clickbank other times, not so much. But the nice thing is uh.
You do get a uh, basically a free trial. You have to pay, but they will give you your money back. I think you have 30 days to get your money back if you do not like one of the plugins or programs, and I've actually done that a few times, but this plugin content gorilla. It works with with YouTube, so there is an actual website. You can go on there, there's an app you can find or you can get the link to essentially any video off of YouTube put it into this app and then you can pull all of the um.
The speech the captions and it actually works, it works pretty. Well, i mean it. Obviously, it takes you know you're using YouTube's, caption creator and then you're just exporting it out. You can go through and add, punctuation, add paragraphs, and i think you can even do some spelling and grammar. Not all of it works that great, but in the matter of seconds that it takes, you can go through, spend a few minutes, make any corrections.
If you want to add any links or anything like that, you can go ahead and and put all that stuff in on your own time. But what you can do from there is, if, if you want to take a video of yours or somebody else's embed it to a web page, you can do that and then you can put all the text below and it gives you a lot more content and It should help out with your SEO, but where i am using it right now is actually for this podcast. So I'll go ahead and put these podcasts up onto YouTube and then i will export the the text and then i will load it up and into the podcast, and so I've noticed it seems like well when i, when i do this, my SEO for the podcast. Actually helps out quite a bit. I am pulling some days, i might be getting you know, 200 impressions.
It could be 50 impressions. I think I've had as high as like 800 impressions for a particular podcast and that's essentially just for spending. You know five minutes exporting the the podcast uploading it to YouTube, copying that text and then putting it back into the podcast. So very, very simple, so i will leave a link in the description just in case you want to check it out. Maybe you want to purchase it, i believe at the time when i bought it, it's probably still the same price.
It was like 20 or 30 dollars really cheap. It works pretty well, and it will save you a lot of a lot of time if you're looking to take the words from your you tube, video and putting it into a webpage. So that is it for today, and we will talk to you again about another SEO topic here shortly.
I have been using Ubersuggest for a while now but came across an issue with updating my keywords. The only way to solve this issue was by removing my account and starting over which is not ideal. I will reach out to support if this issue continues and will keep you updated in case you use Ubersuggest for tracking keywords.
Welcome to Casey's SEO, i just wanted to give you guys a quick update, so i have been using ubersuggest to track my keywords and I've come across an issue with the software. Now i have not reached out to support yet i will see if it continues and if it does I'll definitely check out, but if you are using ubersuggest. This is what I've noticed. So i had a a campaign up. I think, for a couple weeks, I've been tracking, roughly 90 keywords and then all of a sudden a few days ago it stopped updating, but i have another website that is still updating.
So there is some type of issue there i went back. I went and tried to upload some more keywords that didn't change anything. They were still not updating, and i also noticed when it was crawling my website. It was only crawling about half of the pages from what it would typically do. So not sure what the issue is, but i went back, i did i removed all the keywords.
I re-uploaded all the keywords now this wouldn't be such a big deal, but one of the functions that they have is not working on firefox and that's the one thing. I've tried it on so far is they have a upload you a csv file, with all your keywords, but every time i hit that i click on the file and nothing happens, so i have to manually go in and upload every keyword for it to track. So i went ahead and spent all probably 15 minutes and it still wouldn't track them. No idea why so i went ahead and deleted the website, put it back in the system and then went back through and put in about 20 keywords just to see if it would work, and it did so. The keywords now are being updated.
Another issue that i saw when i initially uploaded all the keywords: it was not giving any volume, it would just say zero, but if you would go through and check the volume of keyword, it may say: 100.
So there's an issue with that, but the second time around here the volume actually got updated while tracking the keywords. So that's a plus that at least i can see what the volume is for the keyword, but i would love it if the csv file upload, if that would work and I'll go through and try it with a different browser before i reach out to support. Maybe it's firefox maybe have to try it on chrome etc. But if that worked, then i wouldn't necessarily mind if the software would kind of stop working after a few weeks or whatever it may be, could just be a glitch.
But if i have to go back and spend 15 minutes every week, every two weeks whatever it may be, I'm not going to do that, especially if i had a higher package and I'm tracking. Let's say i think the limit is 300 keywords. If i had to put in 300 keywords manually all the time that would be a no-go for me, but just wanted to fill you guys in, like i said I'll test, some other things out, maybe maybe you've had these issues if you use ubersuggest, if you Do please let me know below um, if not like, i said I'll reach out to support and I'll. Let you guys know an update later on.
If you are looking at hosting a WordPress website, I suggest you use a cPanel. At first, a cPanel may seem intimidating but once you learn the basic, hosting a WordPress website is so much easier. Another benefit is you have control over everything and you don't have to wait for support to help you out.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO for today i just wanted to discuss um something i was doing over the past weekend and i was i was just trying to deploy a couple more websites, um and i was trying to use some different hosting services. I will say that it did not go very well now. I have tried this in the past, but for some reason i always pick cpanels, and i did not do that this time. Well, i guess i really didn't look to see if they offered a cpanel, and that was my mistake. So what i have found is once you get used to a certain way of doing things.
It becomes very, very easy like, for example, if you're going to host a a WordPress website on a cpanel to me is very, very simple: all you do. Is you log into the cpanel? You add your domain depending on where your domain is registered. You may be using the name servers from that cpanel or your server there or you just take the ip and you're going to point it to that hosting provider. Very very simple, then you're going to go like all the way down on the page you're going to click.
You know one click install for WordPress choose your domain hit the button fill out your username and password and boom you are done. It is that simple, but with some of these other hosting providers, where they don't offer a cpanel, i just find it very, very difficult to do, and i spend 10 times as long trying to figure out how to even point my domain over there or put put My domain onto their hosting and then try to match them up and deploy a wordpress site. It's just it's very, very challenging, then sometimes they're they either have email service or they don't and then, when they do, you have to go to like nine different other pages. To find it, i don't recommend it for me if you want something that you have more control over and you want to deploy, you know, maybe multiple websites, whatever it is, i would definitely choose a cpanel like i said, all you have to do is go to A hosting provider sign up, it will deploy your cpanel for you. You click on that button.
You go in. You can add your website, you can scroll down. You can then add your WordPress if you're going to use WordPress, there's folders or icons in there for email. All you do is click on them, add your name and what domain you're going to put it on, and then you have everything right there, plus the other benefit for me of using a cpanel is, let's just say you upload a plugin or you have a plugin That kind of crashed and your back end is not working or you can't get into it. You can go back into that.
Cpanel go to your file manager. Click in your contents, folder find your plugins find out what plugin it may be and, let's just say you just uploaded a plugin and it doesn't work. So you know exactly what plugin plugin it is. Go there change the name, go back see if it works. If it works, you know you have a problem with that.
Then you can go ahead and troubleshoot with that plugin to see what is going on and it's very simple with some of the other hosting providers, or maybe it's just a WordPress hosting you don't have that option. You have to go back in contact. Customer support figure out the issue, but it's going to be on their time, so you may get your website back up in 30 minutes an hour who knows, but for me i can go back in. If i already know what plug-in it is, i can go back in and it will take me five minutes and then i can start over, but i have that control to go ahead and do that. But that is just it for today wanted to fill you guys in on some hosting a couple different options and which one i prefer, if you have something that is not cpanel, that is very, very easy to load up a WordPress website.

Here are my search results for my paintless dent repair website. I have been using Ubersuggest to track my keywords and I have noticed an increase in the search results over the past couple of weeks. If you haven't tried Ubersuggest, I recommend you give it a try.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO, and it's been a few days since I've updated you guys with my results for the website that I'm currently working on. So i just want to go ahead and fill you guys in the results are getting better. It's been like, i said about a week since i filled you guys in google has updated my search console. So i have received a couple new uh backlinks from different domains, and i have increased my backlinks from some of the domains that I've already had. I've increased those i think it's gone up by about 50
Now, some of that is due to this podcast and using all the other content providers with this podcast, and i am getting some backlinks from there now is it actually helping the site?
I think overall, yes now, i know some of these domains and backlinks that i have been getting are not in my niche, so they may not help as much, but i still want to say they have helped, because my results in the search have increased. Now they have an increase for all. I still have some of that jumping up and down. I see it every single day. Some days are really good, like i may only um drop.
You know 10 spots for a certain keyword and maybe i still might go up 10 20 30 spots for others. Some days are not great. I may have a handful of keywords where i dropped 40 spots, but then the next day or two they go back up or they increase their search result from you know a week ago, so it is good still jumping around a lot. So right now i have 89 keywords tracked and I've been tracking these specific keywords. For the past few weeks today i have 45 keywords in the search results that are getting tracked so something sometimes this changes changes uh.
It may be 45 today, and it may be 40 tomorrow that bounces back and forth a little bit but overall um use using ubersuggest my average average position right now for the like the last week, I'm at 40 and my visibility trend is at 47.
Now that is on the desktop, the mobile version is still very similar, but it has gone up um from we'll just say, April 13th April 14th i jumped up about uh five spots for the average position and then for my visibility. I jumped up seven spots from there, but if i just look back on April 13th, i was at 35 and if i look at today for April 16th, I'm at 47, so it has increased quite a bit overall, still pretty good, I'm going to keep working on. My backlinks building content doing everything that you would do for seo and we'll see if i can continue moving up in the search results for these specific keywords now i know i may be ranking for other keywords, but i can only track 100 keywords with this package That i have for ubersuggest, which i think it works pretty good, but i have noticed if i take this information from today and i go back and i look at my google search console for some reason. It seems like there may not be a word that says I'm in the search results on ubersuggest, but it will say it is getting pulled up.
Uh one or two times in the google search console so might be a little discrepancy, but overall still pretty good, but that is it for today just wanted to fill you guys in. So it seems like everything that i have been doing: um just using this podcast building some backlinks working on other content, trying to reach out and work with some other people. Everything seems like it's been going: okay in the past few weeks, and hopefully it will continue to do this and i will be back with another episode soon. If you are looking to start a PBN, your own real network, or need a copy of your website, you can use Wayback Machine. I tried this with one of my old websites and it does work exactly how they say it will but it may not be how you want it to. The Wayback Machine could have its uses but I wouldn't use it if your main goal is to start a PBN.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO and i wanted to fill you guys in with a quick update. So the last episode i was talking about um, creating some type of pbn or just your own network that you can use, and i looked into using the wayback machine to getting that old content from the expired domain that you may have purchased. So i went ahead and purchased this for one of my old sites and as it it works as it's supposed to, as it does copy um at least all if not most will say the content from your site from that specific time period. But the one big issue - and it does say this when you use it, but it puts everything into a page and not into a post, so everything in the back end looks a little bit different and you cannot make a lot of. I guess changes if you needed to, but let's just say you had a site.
Maybe you lost all your content and you're having a hard time recovering your content, or maybe it's going to be a few days or a week or whatever before you can get your site working correctly again i mean you could use that way back machine. I ended up paying 75 and that gave me the wordpress version. There is a cheaper, just a html version that you can purchase. I think that's like 15 or 20, but if you just needed something to put up within a very short period of time, I'm trying to think so right when i purchased it. They started converting and copying everything right away, but it did take me about a full day to get the actual theme, file and kind of the instructions on uploading it to your hosting provider.
So if you need it for an actual site, it's not necessarily going to work, but if you need it for a pinch or maybe you have to rebuild something because you've lost everything, it would work you're just going to put in a lot of extra work to Get that site back to where it was, but it's a heck of a lot easier than starting over from scratch, and it would be worth the 75 that i had to pay. So i just wanted to fill you guys in with that um. I wouldn't recommend taking a an expired domain and using somebody's content and old site and just throwing it up there. If that's what you were thinking, it seems like that would be the easiest way and, yes, that would be the easiest way. But it's not your content and i think in the long run um you probably could get in trouble for using somebody else's content.
If you want to do that, take all that information. Look at what backlinks rebuild stuff. I mean it is a good way because at least you have all the content right in front of you and then you can start going through and creating. You know new pages and working on a new theme and going or doing everything from there. So that would work, but just wanted to give you guys a heads up on that wayback machine.
If you want to try it out, it works, but it may not work as you would like it to so. Just keep that in mind, and that is it for today and i will be back soon with another episode.
If you are starting a PBN or just creating a new website from an expired domain, I have found you can use Wayback Machine to create a copy of the website. I am not sure how good this copy is but they claim it's supposed to be "pretty good". I might go back and find an old version of a website I have created and try it out.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO, for today it's going to be starting a pbn part. Three now i say starting a pbn, because what I'm going to go over today, you could use to start a pbn. That is what i have read so far. I have not actually created a pbn. I just started reading on them, like i said before, I've seen them many I've seen them around many for many years, but never actually looked into them and one way, if you want to look at it.
Obviously, if you're starting a pbn and just creating you know websites that serve no other purpose. Besides pointing links to a money site, i could see how that would be frowned upon. But if you're creating actual sites that provide some use, and then you have a group of sites and point them to a money site, i can see where that would kind of be that gray area, but isn't that what everybody does, or at least larger corporations or Businesses that have multiple sites so um one website that i want to talk about today is the wayback machine. So you probably have seen basically what this is. So if we look at, let me get the exact website here for you so archive.
rg, which is essentially the wayback machine. In a way you can go and basically look at any website that has ever been made. You can go back from you know 10 years ago and check out what that domain looked like or all the way up to today. Now those I'm going to say quote: unquote: screenshots they're, not perfect, sometimes there's a lot of information there. Sometimes there's not.
But let's just say you went back and maybe you actually just want to create a new website and you found an expired domain. That fits your needs. Well, you can go back and look and see what that website was about. If it's in the same niche i mean you can use the wayback machine, you can pay them a fee and they'll basically bring those files and put it into well. They'll extract those files and either into a wordpress format or just html, which then you can use for your website.
So, let's just say you have a you found a domain that had um like a da of 65, and it has, you know, really great back links and it fits your niche. You can go back and see what those pages were about. You could rebuild it all by hand or you could import this file from the wayback machine in and make changes and everything else. So from my understanding, it's not a complete, like wordpress format. You can make some changes here and there um, but from what I've been reading it seems like you can you can still change the themes, you can still add plugins, but it will break the website, but you can still then take that information.
My guess is and then recreate it, so your backlinks still work, and then you have a actual website that is worth using. So I'll see I'll keep kind of looking around with this playing around. I might go out and find a copy of just an old website that I've made maybe download that and just upload it and play with it to see. You know what the back end of a wordpress site looks like and if you can make any changes, but that is it for today on, i guess starting a pbn. If you want to that's some of the things that you can do, but if you just want to create a new site and get some information from it, so you don't break a lot of backlinks then this could be an option.

Some of these domains are good and some are really bad, so you will need to do your research if you want to purchase one of these.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO, and this is going to be part, two of starting a pbn. So yesterday i went ahead and just discussed what a pbn is and kind of why it's against the terms, but in a way how it may not be. So it's definitely a gray area. I mean i do understand it, but one place where you can go through and find expired domains. The website is expired, domains.
et, that's just one of the places. There are many many places out there that you can find these expired domains which may help you not necessarily create a pbn but get ahead of the game if you're going to start some type of new website, so just for example, on this site, you can go In there are multiple tabs for like uh godaddy auctions or expired domains, you can make offers you can buy now, and then there are some of the smaller companies that my guess is bought specific domains and then go ahead and resell. Those now some domains are, i think, reasonably priced and some are super duper overpriced in my opinion, and that is half of the stuff on godaddy. If you look at just any of the auctions, I've followed some of the auctions on just small sites. Now, when I'm talking small, I'm we're looking at uh like a domain ranking of 20, it may have, let's say a hundred good domains.
Um the backlink profiles look decent, and that is another thing that you can do on this site. Here is you can go through and filter out everything, so, if you're looking for, like some trust, scores from majestic like if you want that at 10, 15 25, if you want certain things turned on and off, you can go ahead and do that, and so that Makes it a little bit easier to search for domains now, one of the things people always say is: don't pay attention to domain ranking, which is true. I would still go ahead and just take a look at that, because on some of these domain rankings, depending on what i mean systems that you're checking those on, i mean you can really inflate those a lot more than what you should be able to like. For example, with ahrefs, I've noticed because I've done this before with uh with a different site. If you put in i mean honestly just a bunch of spam type sites, they don't even have to be that good, but you can get your your URL.
What ranking you can get that up 30 40 up on higher it. You know as long as you throw in some other good sites. With that your domain rank. It won't necessarily go up a whole lot but, like i said, if you throw in some just decent sites that still might be a little spammy, i don't know if it takes into a lot of consideration what those sites are. So just just remember that, but definitely just take a look at how many backlinks they have where those backlinks came from and then see.
If they have, you know tons of spammy stuff on there. If they don't, then that domain may be a good domain for you. Now, let's just jump back to price, just really quick. So, for example, I'm looking on the screen here, i got this site up here. They want sixteen hundred dollars.
Well, this one's not for godaddy this other site down here is not actually they have some good sites. But even if you just look in the godaddy auctions, you might find some for fifty thousand dollars and you go back and you look at some of their information. It may have a domain rank of like five and some of those have like uh, like 90 000 backlinks with the domain rank of five, and they want fifty thousand dollars for these domains. Some of it just doesn't make sense uh some of the auctions that are following some of those do make a little bit more sense. I mean you're getting a decent domain for anywhere, let's say 100 to 500, and that's what I'm kind of finding.
If you want a decent domain, i mean you're going to be spending a couple hundred dollars, if not more, and that all just depends on the domain and its whole profile. That comes with it. Some of them i have found where you're looking at like a domain, ranking and good links a DR of like 55, and they may want 8 000 for the site, so some stuff makes sense, and i guess it all just depends on. You know how far ahead of the game you want to be and how much money you want to spend, but that is it for today just wanted to. Let you guys know about this site I'll, leave the link in the description, so you can go ahead and check that out play around with it see what's on there.
Maybe you'll find something that you can use for a new site and maybe you won't, but just keep your eye out because at some point, if you are looking for a site, you should find something that will work for you. But that is it and we will talk to you later.
Have you thought about starting a PBN before? First, let's talk about what a private blog network is. A PBN is against the "TOS" and you should not create one unless you want to get penalized. Yes, a PBN is against the rules but I think you can still create one and use it without being penalized if you follow certain rules.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO and for today, and i think for the next few episodes I'm going to be diving in to pbns, so we got private blog networks now they've been around for years and years. I've heard about them years ago, just never actually looked into them until now. They are you know, okay, so i guess. If we take a step back, we will people will say that they are against the terms of service for google and probably any search engine for that matter. But in a way everybody uses them, not everybody.
But I'm going to say a very large majority of people use pbns now that may not necessarily mean that they're doing it in a black hat type of way. So if we look at what a pbn is it's a private blog network, but it's pretty much where, let's just say you as a webmaster, has multiple multiple websites. But you got one money website, so you got one site that you want to boost up in the rankings and then you're going to take all these other sites that you have and basically point links to your one money site. Now. If you kind of look at this - and i bet if you dive into many other companies online - they already do this.
But i think the only thing that they're or they may not be doing is hiding their information because, let's just say you have one like more of a powerful corporation or business, i mean they probably have multiple other sites that they own or run. And all you have to do is point links back to whatever site that you want to be. You know the most powerful and there you go. You have your pbn now you may not be hiding everything and going all those links, and you still are creating sites that are useful and that that's probably what makes those sites you know not a pbn. So if we want to look at uh another aspect of a pbn, you have your well you're.
Pretty much buying expired domains that have you know good domain authority, good back links now this could be anywhere between trying to look into this and dive in, but maybe a 15 a domain ranking above above 15. It's probably an okay start, i mean. Obviously you could go even higher. You could go from 30, 40. 50.
- 70, but once you get up into the higher numbers, those domains cost a lot more. So it kind of depends on what you want to do and how you want to run this quote-unquote pbn that you may want to do so if we want to look at it from this perspective, maybe you buy a bunch of lower quality domain ranks of 15 To 20, you build up something, you hide everything and point it to one money site, that's probably more against the tos or maybe you go ahead and buy 10 10 domain names that have a domain ranking. You know between 30 and 50 and then you build those out a little bit actually run them as a site, and then you can still point those back to your main site and my guess is as long as you're running them as a real site. There's probably no problem doing that, but that is it for today just wanted to kind of dive into what a pbn is and I'm going to keep looking into more of this.
Maybe we can find out a good good way to structure this, so it's not against the rules and it's something that you can do maybe try to find more examples. Maybe some uh other examples of what people used online, what they did, what they did not do and I'll be discussing those over the next few episodes.
Right now I am working on a new post (PDR Marketing Images) that has over 70 images. For this post, I am reusing images that I already have on the site but changed the file name to different keywords, plus you can download the full-size images if you want to use them on your website. I will keep you updated with the results of this post in the near future.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO and for today we're going to be going over a post and pray. So that is my technique of let's post a page and pray that it gets. Some back links get some shares, get something going on good for the website, but in all honesty, no, i i am working on a new page right now, so a little while ago, i was talking about how we can use images to try to build. You know, i guess a better page, build some backlinks, get some interest in your website and that is kind of what i did right now. It didn't take me too long to do this basically recycled a lot of the images that i have been using.
I went ahead, though, and reduced the size to those, so most of them were around like 500 by 300, so i wanted again pretty small, so the page would still load quickly right now. I believe i have about 78 images on the page and i also went through and just looked at different keywords and then added keywords to those images yeah. I know they don't necessarily all relate. I mean it's all in the same niche, but i just wanted to see if that would get any of these images to rank a little bit higher than what they might traditionally and then i went ahead and put in um. I guess a folder where you can put your email in and then you can have all these images at a full size.
Just in case you want to use them on your website. All these images are from different websites, so they were free images, but i did go through either change like the sky on them. I changed some of the colors made some changes on those, so i you know they're not necessarily well they're. Definitely not mine made some changes, but I'm not charging any money for them, but i did put them all in one folder in case anybody wants those. So one plug-in that i found for this, which will work for the for what i need.
It's not the prettiest but, like i said it will work, I'm going to go ahead and pull that up for you here as soon as my site will move into the plugins page all right. Let me scroll down here and find this. Where is it all right? Can't find it at the moment, don't even remember what it's called anyways. You can find multiple different plugins.
If you want to, you, know, put a folder behind something to put an email in and then you can go ahead and download whatever file you want. So this email or this uh, this plugin, is called download after email, pretty simple, straightforward. So far, it seems like it's going to work. I tested it out. It has worked.
If you want to, you know, maybe charge for something. You can obviously be using a different type of a plug-in um and you guys can go ahead and figure that out for yourself, if, if I'm ever looking into any of that, i will definitely keep you guys, updated and let you know what plugins that I'm using. But I'm thinking after i post this page um within a couple weeks i should probably have about. I don't know five to ten different backlinks to this uh page and half of them are going to be follow. Half of them are going to be no follow and they're.
All higher ranking, backlinks, probably anywhere from 70 70 to 90 on on your score, still don't know if that's going to rank this page at all, but either way i guess my main goal is to see if i can use some of these images, maybe get a Backlink here and here, or there potentially help out the page and we'll see if any of the other keywords that i use for these images will help, and i will keep you guys posted with the results uh here in the near future. Here are some of the results that I have been getting so far for my reverse engineered listings. The PDR location keyword positions have been fluctuating quite a bit since I started and I hope this slows down after more backlinks have built.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO, and today this is going to be part, eight of creating that web directory slash WordPress website so uh the other day. I talked about um kind of reverse engineering, some listings and see how they would do so. We'll just go over kind of the well the beginning, part of the results. So obviously I've been tracking this for quite a while now, but for some of the results we're I'm using Ubersuggest for all my tracking and I've discussed Ubersuggest before. But if, if you guys don't know what that is, it's basically a piece of software, it's actually online, it's one of Neil Patel's programs, but you can track your links.
You can track your keywords. You can to see how your website's doing - and it's just one of the cheaper programs out there so for this, I'm paying what is it 30 a month and you get to track up to 100 keywords. You can use other programs if you want like SEM Rush. Ahrefs those are to the top ones that come off the top of my head, but those range anywhere from 100 to 120 dollars a month. So, if you're looking for an affordable tracking system for your backlinks, your keywords, etc just check out Ubersuggest, but for summer of the results now i was going to come on and tell you because i checked it last night when it updated that i didn't have any Big fluctuations in keyword positions, but i just hopped on this morning and it's actually changed, and i have kind of seen this before if it seems like, if you refresh the page a little bit after it updates, it seems like updates change again.
So, for example, i had a position um a couple days ago, like the average position was around 44 and i swore it jumped up to 40, but now it's at 42 and then a visibility trend we're at 30 now or 30 the other day and still almost Around 30, but that was different too and, like i said i didn't, have any big jumps in the negative direction after the first update, but this morning checking it again and now i have some big fluctuations again and i was hoping everything was settled down a little Bit but it has not, so i think the worst negative drop that i've had here. It was uh. I had a position go down 68 spots now. This has been happening to me and that's: okay, because everything's still new um still working on everything, but i have a negative 68 here, negative 41 negative 34 and that looks like for the biggest drops there um in a positive direction. I have one up 13.
I went up to 21 there's one 115 so more drops than increases, but, like i said, that's, okay! Now, if you go over so that was on the desktop version now you can also check out your tracking on mobile, which this always varies a little bit too some days. I do a lot better on mobile and then vice versa. So for mobile i have a I've, got one drop here of 30, one of 27 and that's it and i have one positive increase of. We got 39 20 and that's the biggest there.
It seems like. I have less fluctuation in mobile than i do on the desktop, but so far they're doing. Okay, some it seems like some of the listings that i created like they will jump like if i have a drop of 30 or a drop of 70 one day. Two days later, it goes back into you know up 70., so i think until i get some more backlinks and and everything kind of settling out a little bit more uh, i hopefully hopefully, if i can do all that the positions will hold still a little bit And then hopefully, slowly climb upward, but i just wanted to go over some quick results here and - and i guess tell you what program I'm using for these results.
Obviously things change a little bit with Ubersuggest. So, even if i go back through and look at just my tracked keywords that kind of changes, so let me check real quick right now. It says i have 173 organic keywords, but some of these, like, if i put out a post for example - and i do have a google news feed. So if i put out a post, it gets listed right away in the google news feed and then i might have, depending on the post, i might have 30 new keywords get ranked within like the top five or 50 search results right away and they'll be there For that day and then the following day, it seems like if i post a new post, then those go away and then something else comes in, but all those keywords stay with um my organic keywords in here. So if i go back it may say i have a position of 20 on a keyword and i look and I'm nowhere to be found, so that is kind of deceiving.
But overall, if you need a program, definitely just check out Ubersuggest. You can also check out Ahrefs and SEM Rush, and i will be back soon with another episode, um digging in more on my site and what I'm going to be doing next.

If you want to place ads on your WordPress website, check out the Advanced Ads plugin. I have been using this plugin for my paintless dent repair ads and Google Adsense. It's pretty easy to set up but you can spend all day making adjustments at first. I highly recommend you try this plugin if you want to run ads on your website.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO for today i want to cover one more plugin. Now there are lots of other plugins that i use for my WordPress website slash directory, but this one is going to be covering ads. So, let's just say, for example, you've been working on your directory for a long time and you want to add some ads because you want to sell some ad space to either other companies or maybe even the companies that are on your directory. So the plugin that i have found the most useful so far is advanced ads. Now i will leave the link in the description, so i am using their pro version.
I believe they have a free version that you can use, but either way with this pro version and all their extra add-ons that you can use it's going to cost you around 100 for the year now. You can spend a little bit more and extend that time frame, i believe, up to four years for around 200, but i just wanted to go ahead and give it a try. So some of the things that got me to purchase this plugin was it did geolocation and it was supposed to, and i think it still does, it has a cache buster feature. So basically, what that is is i have cache on my website. I use WP Rocket.
I use rocket CDN and then I'm also using cloudflare. Now, with those three, i have been able to speed up my website quite a bit, but if i, if you want to run ads and you want to geolocate those ads, i was running into some issues, and so i wanted to find something that would work to Get away from that and show the ads to the correct visitors in their location with their cash busting system that they have. I was having difficult difficult times setting that up, but the kind of runaround that i was able to do was put the as into a slider and for some reason that seemed to work. But overall it still took me like a day to figure everything out and kind of set it up. I know it's not the correct way to set it up, but it will work if you have something where you want to go into.
You know, i guess more detail or be more specific with some geo locations and types of ads that you want to run. You may have some issues, but support will help you at least when i sent them a question. They got back to me fairly quickly, so that is always a good thing, but with this plugin you can have multiple ads, it does say it works on cached sites. You can schedule ads, you can lazy, load, lazy load ads. They work on mobile devices.
I believe on some of the mobile devices i was having trouble with some of the ads, so just be aware, and it could have just been the ads that i was putting in there. Maybe i didn't have the correct dimensions it works with google adsense. I have google adsense hooked up on here. Another neat thing with this one and probably most other ad plugins - is it works with a fallback ad? So, for example, if i am geo locating one ad and somebody comes in from a different location, you will have a fallback ad which you can set up as something generic or maybe a google adsense.
So you always have an ad showing they also have a selling ad space setup, so this works with woocommerce. Basically, if you want to sell a specific ad space, you can go ahead and set that up with woocommerce and then they can manage that through their account. I briefly set this up. Everything should work with it, but i wanted to get away from woocommerce since I'm using two different payment systems in there. I was using stripe with my geo directory plug-in and i just figured if I'm going to sell ads I'll, just kind of do it on a manual basis and it should be okay.
But if you're looking for something to sell lots of ads lots of people, it might be worth using their option to sell ads um. Let me see yeah, you can duplicate ads really quickly. So if you have, for example, on a sidebar, if you have let's just say you want to make one specific group of ads to always show or to geo locate whatever you can go ahead and duplicate those and lay those out and another neat feature which is Pretty common between any ad plugins is you can inject basically as wherever you want, so it could be in a blog post at a you know, a certain time in that post either in the beginning. In the end, in the middle, you know just hit a button and boom it's done, so that is it for today. I just wanted to cover this one more ad, just in case or just one more plugin, just in case you're, looking to add ads to your directory, if you're, making one or, if you're, just listening to this.
Because you want to kind of learn how to make a WordPress website, but i will be back very soon with another episode and we'll be discussing some of the other stuff that i have been doing for my website. We're going to be looking at basically how to get more impressions, how to track your impressions might dive into some of the google analytics. Briefly, we're going to be looking at kind of what I'm doing and in a way how to get customers, which is going to be probably a little bit different than what you would traditionally do, especially for a directory. Everyone needs to download Yoast SEO if you are using WordPress. Yoast allows you to keep track of your SEO for each page/post that you create. It will tell you what you should be doing and how to fix any mistakes that you made. If you want to take your SEO a step further, you can download the Yoast Premium version. If you want to get this version and other awesome plugins you can find them on Woocrack. I have been using Yoast SEO on my Paintless Dent Repair website for a while now and I love it.
Welcome to Casey's SEO today i want to talk about one plugin, specifically, that i use for my WordPress website and that is Yoast .well.com, but that's where we're going to be getting it from, but it is Yoast SEO. So this plugin, I'm sure you've heard of it. If you've been around WordPress before, but it's kind of the quintessential plugin that you're going to need for your SEO helps you do basically a little bit of everything, and it reminds you if you did or did not do what you are supposed to be doing.
For your SEO, so they have a free version. All you have to do is download that, from your add new plugin in your plugin section on your WordPress site, but I'm not necessarily going to be talking about this free version. So I'm going to teach you how you can get the premium version, which is better for a fraction of the cost. So if you want the premium version and you buy that from Yoast.com you're going to be spending ninety dollars a year.
But years ago i found this website called woo crack and you can go ahead and download honestly thousands, probably ten thousand plus dollars worth of plugins for a very, very cheap price for one year right now it is 29. If you want to buy it, a lifetime is 49. So the only difference between these plugins and the plugins that you would buy directly from the creators or you don't get the support and you may not actually get the automatic updates either. The updates are there once they come out, but you just might have to download them from the website and then re-upload them in order to get that update now. The reason why they're so cheap is well, you don't get the support, but i believe i looked into this before and i think this is just like the general um yeah.
I forget the word I'm looking for okay, so all plugins and themes are 100 original GPL license. So there's not a cracked version, so they can be doing this now. I bought this i think four or five years ago and i think i paid five dollars. It was for a lifetime, so the price has gone up a few dollars since then, but there are so many great plugins on this website and for the price you cannot beat it, but within this premium version you can add more focus, keywords, keyword, phrases it just Takes a step further looking at the sheet here, so we have so we got just trying to look keyword, optimization yeah, so you can use more keywords compared to just the one with the free version. You have multiple available, multiple languages.
If that's what you need, you have that um just looking through all right, so we have internal linking suggestions and this is in the premium version now. I have tried this for some reason: it's not working on my website. My guess is it's. Maybe i have something set up incorrectly, but either way I'm not too disappointed that that's not working, but then you got internal linking blocks content insights. The redirect manager is actually pretty nice.
So, for example, if you create a page and you accidentally misspelled the URL or something like that, you can go ahead. Keep that page and just redirect it very easily to the new page and that actually will save you quite a bit of time compared to what you might have to uh or have done in the past. So you can focus keyword, export and it says this ad free, so i guess the free version. Well, yeah! You have ads from them trying to sell you upgrades, but so there's just so much more that you can do with that premium version either way make sure you download that free version you can get that pre that premium version for a fraction of the cost.
If you would like, and if you sign up for that, will crack you can get video SEO for the WordPress plugin local SEO, you have the news SEO, which that is for your google news. If you have google news feed and those are actually pretty easy to get, i got. I have one of those for my site we'll go into that later, but then you have the Woocommerce SEO plugin also, so you get a bunch of different things off of blue crack, which again I'm going to leave the link in the description. So if, if you're into SEO, you want to learn a little bit more about SEO, either way just make sure you don't necessarily have to download the green light on all of it, some of it's kind of hard to get the green light. In order to make your content sound, like you want it to sound, but either way, i hope you guys enjoyed this episode.

One of the most important plugins for your web directory/WordPress website is Updraft Plus. Updraft Plus is a backup plugin that copies and stores your website in a safe place just in case you mess something up. This plugin is inexpensive and has saved my butt many times.

Welcome back to Casey's SEO and today for episode, four I'm building a web directory, I'm going to be looking at one of probably one of the most essential plugins that you guys are going to need for your WordPress website. Here we have updraft plus, so you can find a free version of this, and what updraft plus is is basically a plugin that will back up your website now with the free version you can back your website up onto your hosting provider or for with the premium Version you will be able to also send a copy of your backup to any type of online storage that you have. They also have some online storage that you can use for an additional cost. So if you've ever built a website and basically messed something up, and then you went, you know, oh, what am i going to do now? I have no backup of my site and i have just lost.
You know one years of work. If that's ever happened to you, you probably have some type of backup set in place that could be your hosting provider. Sometimes they have a backup package that you can purchase or is already free within your service, but with this plugin, it's very very simple. To use you can set it up, so you can have a new copy every single day. You can basically set it up, so you can just copy your database if you want or all your plugins your themes, you know make a complete backup every single day once a week once a month, whatever you want and then like i said you can even pay For that updated or pro version and get that sent to you know your computer um, not necessarily your computer, but any type of online storage which could be Dropbox.
I think you can do your google folders um. Was it, though, your one drive, there's multiple different options that you can go ahead and choose from, and it's really easy to set up so from the free version like i said, you only get to copy your website to your own hosting provider. Now, if you want to go ahead and pay for that premium version, which i recommend you do, if you build multiple websites now, what is nice with this premium version? Is you can essentially copy your website and copy it over to a different domain? Name?
Very quick and easily all you have to do is upload. This plugin to both sites get the key code from your main site copy it on over. You can go ahead and it will copy all the files and folders and everything over then there's also a button that you can check and it will then transfer over all the files that you have over to your new domain name and there you go. You have a whole website copied over to a different domain name in case you want to use. You know, part of that website again or whatever.
The case may be very, very simple to use. Now you have that free version. You have a personal option which is up to two websites and that right now is running at seventy dollars. For the year, you have business up to ten sites for roughly ninety five dollars, all the way up to enterprise, which is 195 right now, and that is for unlimited websites. I think i covered all the features but I'll go through the list here, just to see if i can find anything else, so we have scheduling and then, like i said, we have the updraft fault storage which you can use.
So you do get one gigabyte of free storage included and then you can go ahead and purchase more. You have your remote or your remote storage options. You have google drive Dropbox, oh amazon service, rackspace they used to have one or your. Was it your one drive? I'M not sure if they still have that but either way, and then you do have a WordPress network and multi-site options available and you have support so for a very, very cheap price.
You can back up all your website or all your websites make sure. If you do make a mistake, you can go ahead and copy that back over. Let's just say you deleted a plugin or the rom plugin. You can go ahead and back that up or restore that if you messed up something on the database and you can't figure it out, all you have to do is hit restore and obviously it will restore from the last place that you saved. It's also really nice.
If you need to update a plug-in, if you set it up um in this fashion, when you go ahead and hit update for a plugin, it will ask: do you want to make a copy of the website before you update this plugin, because this plugin, for example, Woocommerce could have a lot of impact on your website if something is incorrect or does not copy over correctly. So that is my plugin for this episode that you guys really need to have. There are many others out there, but this one's really easy to use and very affordable, and i haven't had any problems with it. The second plugin is Asset CleanUp. With this plugin you can turn on and off certain plugins, CSS, and Javascript to speed up your website. Make sure to check out these two plugins if you are using WordPress. I was able to double my speed score on this PDR Colorado Springs page.
Welcome back to Casey's SEO this is episode, four of creating a web directory all right. So first couple episodes. We went over hosting um web design using WordPress the very basics of what you need to get started now we're going to dive into uh some different plugins. So we'll have a couple different episodes of what plugins you should probably be using. Now you don't have to use these exact plugins, but you will want to use something similar to what I'll be discussing.
So the first two plugins that we're going to go over today are assist speed up and um WP Rocket. So basically, these two plugins work with cache and work with with uh speeding up your website. So if you've worked with website websites before you will notice, if you have a lot of content or a lot of images or it's just kind of a poor theme, um design, you will notice your speed may be kind of slow. Now. The first thing you need to check if your speed is really slow, is you need to dive into your hosting?
If you have the cheapest hosting program or product that you can purchase for the most part, your website is going to be really slow, so make sure to choose a hosting plan. That is not the slowest all right, but we have WP Rocket. So it's going to be a cash um, plug-in it's actually pretty good the product price. I want to say it's about 40 for one website and you can purchase some bundles, which will save you if you need it for more than one website. I also found a website a few years back called woo crack.
Now this website has multiple there's tons of different plugins out there, and this one is one of them and you basically get them all for free. Now you don't get any of the support. Um and updates may not be automatic. You may have to kind of check back and to find out when there's an update and manually update that, but that cost me. I think it was five dollars for three or five years, and i mean the price has may may have gone up since then.
But can't beat it for the price, but with uh WP Rocket you're, basically going to follow all the instructions you're going to check everything out. Uh you can you can minify your CSS, your HTML, your java script. Sometimes, when you do this, you will have problems with the website. It may change the way it functions or you just may have parts of your website that just won't work correctly, so you're going to have to go ahead and remove that minify to get your work. Your uh website, working correctly again, i mean, let me think, another couple features on there: um they offer a CDN now, what a CDN does it's going to take all your information and store that information on different servers throughout the us or worldwide, and it should serve the person information quicker now their product that they have on there. I believe i'm trying to think what i paid seven dollars, eight dollars a month for it, which is not bad uh. The reason why i chose them is just because it was uh. Basically, a one button set up. All i did was purchase the the plan hit start or whatnot, and it did everything else by itself.
You can choose a different program that or a different CDN. That would be better and you can have some more manual work with that with the CDN. I also um hook my website up to cloud-flare, which is basically another CDN, but it does say that it is compatible, so i just hooked both those up with the free version, so it took an additional 10 minutes and good to go with that. Another program that WP Rocket offers is Imagify, something along those lines. You will see it if you check out WP Rocket it is there um image compressed compression uh plug-in, which they have a free version for, like 20 megabytes a month or a couple paid options up to ten dollars for unlimited a month, which is very nice?
I went ahead and chose that program. It's probably one of the better image compression plug-ins that i've used, but now we're going to move into um what's. I say asset uh speedup, something like that. I'm going to go ahead and leave all the links below in the description now. This plugin is actually really great, so i basically doubled my mobile speeds that i was getting from my google test.
So i, after testing and testing the different um well using different websites for my speed, obviously with google you're going to get the worst um speed, rating or optimization rating, and that's fine. Now, if you use like a gt, mage metrics, you may get a 90 all day long and then, if you go over to your google developers web page and test your speed, you may be at 25 just the way it is but go and look and see What they want you to essentially minify or remove, and you can get your your uh speeds up pretty quick. So, with this asset speed up plug-in that I've used, they have a free version and a pro version, but it basically allows you to go in and turn off, uh plugins and java script and CSS on each individual page. So, let's just say, for example, your home page. Your speed is 25 using uh google speed test and you go through and you're like all right.
Well, i don't need um these 10 plugins for my website. You can go ahead and put it in basically test mode, toggle, those on and off and see. If you have any issues with your website, if you don't go ahead and leave them off and then go back through clear the cache and retest your speed now you may go from 25 all the way up to 90 or above it just depends on what plug-ins And things that you turn on and off so this plug-in is this essentially a must-have, especially if your website is slow um, you just got to be careful to what you're. Turning on and off you got to figure out. You know what exactly what every plug-in is.
If you don't know a lot of cs and or java script which i don't you might just want to leave some of those assets kind of turned on i mean you like, i said you can go through and toggle them on and off sometimes you'll notice. The difference, sometimes you won't, but you can go, keep going through and play and play with that. The other nice thing about this plugin is, you can set it up for essentially all your pages like, if you just have a page, you can go through them individually or you can say, hey since uh. These five pages are the same. I'M going to go ahead and turn off all these plug-ins and you won't have to worry about it and if you need to go back untoggle one for a particular page, you can do that.
It's really easy. Uh you'll probably spend about a day going through and and playing around just make sure you make a saved copy of your website before you start doing all this, and even within the program, if you essentially screw something up uh, you can go through and restore that Plug-In back to the very basics, so essentially nothing is turned on, but uh. Those are the two plugins that I'm going over today. So if you're looking for ways to speed up your website, definitely check out those two plugins and i will be back soon and we'll go over a couple. Welcome back to Casey's SEO this is part two of creating a web directory, so uh episode, one or part one. We had uh picking out hosting and finding a CMS, which is a content management system for my hosting i chose In-motion hosting and then I'm using WordPress. So to initially start your web directory you're going to need some type of plugin and a theme, so the two that i chose. I tried to go pretty much the most basic that i could. I wanted to save time um.
So i chose Geo directory, which is a plugin that has multiple plugins built into the main plugin, but that ended up costing. I believe it was 199 for the year, which is not too bad. I think the initial plugin is maybe a hundred dollars and then, if you just want to pick and choose uh different options, it was anywhere from like 20 to 30 dollars per option or you could just get the bundle for 199 and that is what i chose now for the plug-in i use the plug-in that they actually have set up for the demos, so i believe it i believe the theme name is listia and the theme is actually very basic, easy to use if you're really looking for A lot of customization, probably not a great theme for you unless you are great at CSS and all that other you know: cool WordPress, web design type of stuff. I do not know that so i like to try to keep everything basic and once again i just wanted to save some time. I already knew what the web directory would look like since i just looked at the demo and said yep that will work.
Let'S go ahead and get started now for the theme i did change. You know some colors um. I try to think. I don't even think i even really changed the page layouts if you actually go online and check out different web directories. A lot of companies use these plugins and theme already.
So for that matter you need to make yours a little bit different, but overall, pretty simple. I think that theme was like 40 for the year you get updates. I don't think it's ever been updated in the past six months that I've used it. It may not even be something that they update very often, but if you want something very simple, quick, you already know what it will look like definitely check out that that theme and the Geodirectory plugin another cool thing with that plug-in is it gives you maps you Can add locations very easily and then they will pinpoint on the map for you automatically, you can change the styles of the maps. If you would like to i have not.
You can sync it up with google maps. I found that to actually take me longer than what it should have, because you have to go in and get an API and everything and go ahead and set that up and honestly about a month ago, just randomly one day. The API didn't work anymore, um and it's not like i ran out. You know i didn't use a API too much uh, but i just said: let's kind of screw it I'm going to use what's built in which i think for built-in they use Openstreet, which is not the best, doesn't look the best, but it works free, instant and Quick, so you do have a couple different options. If you want to go that route and with a Geo directory plugin, you can once you pay, you can add multiple locations in different countries, different cities, wherever you want, you can add pictures to those.
You can actually import all the information from Facebook yelp, and i think there was another one that i didn't use, or you can put it in manually. But what's kind of nice is, if you have somebody that wants to. You know add to your directory: all they have to do is put in their like Facebook URL and it will import like 99 of the information uh. If you want to add videos, you can a lot of just a lot of different things you can do. That makes it pretty easy and quick.
You can also add one of their plugins and you can charge different amounts of money or whatever to add in your directory, so lots of things go ahead and check them out. I will leave links in the in the notes below, but i will also leave another link to my site just so you can check that out and see if there's any difference between what i have and what the demo is and go from there. Welcome to Casey's SEO, and today I'm going to be starting a new series which is going to go into how to create a web directory. So a web directory is basically any type of website that is going to list a directory of, let's just say, locations for a particular niche or business. So these things have been around, i think, probably since the beginning of the internet, but i think they can and can still be profitable if you kind of change up the way that you go ahead and run your directory. So if you want to take a look at you know one directory, that's been around forever. You can look at yelp, so yelp obviously goes into any type of business that is online.
Now i have kind of used yelp before with some previous businesses, and i really don't like it, but that's just kind of how everything is laid out and of course they always try to sell you on. You know making your profile better. These types of things and that's just how their business is and that's how most directories are, but i think you can kind of take it a step further if you specify it into one little niche and you can really kind of make it your own. Take a look, what everybody else is doing change it, and hopefully you can end up creating something: that's a little bit different and will get some traffic to your site and potentially, maybe make you some money down the road. If that is your end goal, but first before you can even start with this, you need to look at what type of business you want.
You want to get into check out the competition of that business. You know learn how you can make things a little bit different, try to come up with a little game plan. First now, if you are new to making websites, there are a couple different things that you need to take a look at. So what type of platform are you going to be putting your directory on? I think the easiest is WordPress.
You don't even have to know too much about creating websites to get into WordPress there's so many tutorials out there. There are plugins for almost anything. You can probably make it work without learning exactly how to do everything so definitely check out WordPress, and then you will need hosting so I've tried a couple. Different companies for hosting I've worked with Godaddy in the past with their shared packages, which, in my opinion, are not great you're limited a lot of resources. Of course, they are a little bit cheaper, you're, looking anywhere from you, know, ten dollars a month kind of for their shared services.
But if you have anything more than one website, it's not going to be great for you. You might get a lot of timed out. Um resources, when you're trying to either even back up a copy of a website things like that so um, i would kind of I'd, probably stay away with them. Then I've moved over to Hostgator and i thought their service was a little bit better. Pricing is relatively the same, but if you are running once again, a little bit larger site or potentially want to run a larger site.
You're going run out of resources, also like on their shared services. I've used the VPS with them and even with a larger website that gets very slow and you're, still looking at, like 20 to 30 dollars a month for one of their cheaper plans. If you pay ahead, but i really think you can find some better options. My the newest option that i have gone with is end was in motion um hosting on this one. I actually just came across somebody else that was using it online and they're talking about how good it is and for the price.
So i went ahead and tried that out you're looking at at least for the package that i did um i prepaid for the year, and so i got that down to about thirty dollars a month. Now you can prepay up to three years and i think i brought it down even less, maybe even 20 dollars a month. That is with the VPS. It has a solid state disk, so everything gets loaded a little bit faster. I'M just you're working with the cpanel trying to think what else um i think, you're getting four gigs of, or maybe it was four core four gigs or eight gigs something around there, but even if you needed to scale up with them, you'll be looking at.
I think around a couple hundred dollars a month, but there you're running like eight to 12 gigs um and then there's like 32 gigs of ram and tons of memory. It's still working with that solid state, uh drive, so i think for their price. So far it's been great everything's been fast on the front end on the back end. Customer service is great, so you have to look at just how much money you want to spend per month and then go out and find a good hosting company and then find out how you want to make your website. Are you using WordPress?
Are you going to go kind of old school just do some CSS and HTML, you know figure out what you're going to do. What's the easiest way for you to build a site and maintain it, so that is kind of part one for today. So we just looked at you know what a directory is, how you can create one find a niche for one um: how to build one, what kind of what type of CMS platform and then, what type of hosting that you would want to use. So we'll be back with a part two here and we'll kind of look into WordPress and what plugins i use specifically for my directory and what other options might be out there so hope you guys enjoyed this little brief introduction to starting a web directory, and i Will be back soon with part two.
I want to find a unique way to use images to get more backlinks. Right now you can place images on your website and if someone uses your image you can track them down and ask for a backlink. This way seems very slow and there has to be a better way. My goal is to get more backs to these pages, for example, Paintless Dent Repair Colorado Springs and Paintless Dent Repair Denver without having to track people down. If you know of any software that you can embed your backlink without this information getting removed when uploaded to a website, please let me know.
Welcome to casey's seo - and today i want to go over using images in order to get backlinks to hopefully improve your website. So i want to know if you guys have come up with any very creative ways in order to use images, to get people to download them and to be able to get backlinks from them. So some of the ways you can do this right now is you can go ahead and, let's say, put up a image on your website. Maybe you make it infographic or just you know, maybe it's something really cool that a lot of people want to download and they're able to find it from there if they go ahead and post it on your website. Hopefully they will give you some credit and put a back link.
You know back to your site, but in most cases that doesn't happen because people just get lazy and they don't care. So, in order for you to get that backlink, you can use some tools on google or other pieces of software and go back and find out who used your image. You can go ahead and contact them see if they would be kindly enough to put a link back to your site, but what? If there is a way that you could pretty much embed a link into an image? You know put a bunch of images on your website.
Hopefully somebody will download some of those and would give you an instant back link, i'm sure back in the day people used to do this. I'M sure there's, probably some different pieces of software. You know everything just worked out the way you wanted it to now. I don't think you're really supposed to do to do this you're not supposed to embed links into uh different pieces of software um in order to get backlinks, but i'm just wondering if there is something out there or an easy way to do this in order for You to get backlinks easier by people using your images. I tried to look this up.
Really, quick didn't really find anything, but if you notice, if you put any metadata into a image, most sites go ahead and strip all of this out and then when they upload your picture, nothing is there. So i don't think i don't know if there's a way around that i don't know if there's a program out there that can do this or if there's a way that somebody can program this to where your metadata will not get stripped out, and it would give You an instant backlink if you guys know anything, go ahead. Let me know, leave it in the in the in the comments box there. Just so we can go. I can go ahead and take a look, but i think that would be a very interesting way in order for you to get more backlinks pretty much without doing any extra work, so that is it for today go ahead and think about that.
I'M going to see if i can do some research and see if i can find out some other ways to use images in order to get backlinks.
Welcome to casey's seo today we're going to be going over pretty much my favorite seo tool, um, that is on the market today, so for this little clip here, um we got video going on which you can watch on youtube or, if you're listening to this on Any podcast platform you can go ahead and check out any show notes for any links, or you can even go back and watch the video here up on youtube. So let's go ahead and i'm gon na go to the screen and we're gon na go over just one of my favorite seo tools that there is out on the market and to be honest, is one of my favorites because of the price. So if you have looked into any seo tool before you will notice, some of them are pretty pricey anywhere upwards to a hundred to a hundred and twenty dollars a month. Just for the basic plan, which, if you're doing this for yourself and you just wan na, have some fun learn some seo uh. Maybe you know improve one of your websites that gets to be pretty expensive for the tool that you're using but um the one that i said that i suggest is uber suggest by neil patil.
So if you go to his website basically uh neil patel.com, you can go ahead and you can find ubersuggest right on there, but right here we're looking at my screen. If you want we're gon na go and we're gon na check out the plans and pricing just to go over those real quick, so they do offer basically like a three well, they offer a seven day trial, but you can go in and just look up a Couple keywords: a couple things here and there for free every day if you would want, but for me, since the price is pretty cheap, it is just worth picking up but go ahead and try that seven day trial, if you would like so they have three different Plans or we have an individual plan, a business plan and a enterprise, slash agency plan, and they start at 29 a month for the individual. The business plan goes to 49 and the agency is 99 a month which is very, very cheap. So one of the other seo tools that i really like to use is a hrefs, but for the basic plan on that you're looking at a hundred dollars a month and for me all i need is the basic plan um.
I think the information you get from ahrefs is a little bit uh better than ubersuggest, but you can't beat it for the price. Now. If we look at the different plans here for uber suggest, like almost everything, is identical, all you're getting pretty much is you're getting so reports per day. We have 100 for the individual 300 for the business and then 900 for the enterprise and then projects. It goes 3, 7 to 15 tracked keywords: we have 100 per project 150 per project and 200 per project.
The update frequency for these keywords are still daily. If you want, you can also put it on weekly, but for me i just got that on daily, but then, if we look at like number of locations so for your keywords, it gets limited to 20 for the individual and it's unlimited for the rest. Now, if you want to do site audits, uh pages crawl per report for individual, you have a thousand, then it goes five thousand ten thousand um keyword. Research keywords suggest it's 20 000 for the basic and 100 000 for the enterprise uh content ideas. We got anywhere from 2 000 to 10 000, but basically going down.
Everything is relatively the same. Obviously if you're gon na, if you have an enterprise package, you just get more um because you're, probably working on more websites. You know you maybe have a business you're working with you know five to ten different websites with an individual you're. Probably it's set up for one to three, but you can't beat it for the price i mean even for the enterprise you're. Looking at a hundred dollars.
A month which is still pretty good, and you get more tracked keywords, that's kind of the thing for me is the tracked keywords, even though i don't think it updates them or finds them quick enough basically, but that that's just for me, that's just my one. Little gripe, but that's just for my for my keywords but anyway so the project i'm going to be working on um, which i will be talking about a lot through this uh youtube channel and then podcast here is. I went ahead and made a website a few months ago, which is just called auto hill autohillrepairnews.com. Basically, it's just going to be a directory with a blog things like that, but i'll get into that a little bit more later on.
But so that's the one project that i'm working on here and that's where i'm finding my keywords: you can go through and you can find backlinks. You can find everything that you want to with. You know your seo tools. Now you can also use ahrefs for free. You can go and sign up for an account and you can put in your website and you have to make sure i believe i got it set up with my google search console.
So it's verified that it's mine and you can go ahead and you can track your domain rating, your referring domains, your backlinks, any of your organic keywords. Things like that. You can track everything there, but i do. I don't believe you have access to any of their other tools, but you can still go ahead and track and you can compare the two from ubersuggest to ahrefs. You still, i think, ahrefs still does a better job at finding backlinks and referring domains a lot faster than ubersuggest.
But you get all the keyword, analysis and your competitive analysis. You get all those things which you can use with ubersuggest and, like i said just for the price, i think it's a better tool, but that is it for today so go ahead and check. Those two out, like i said, check out. Ubersuggest you get seven days for free and after that thirty dollars per month for the plan, and then, if you want to go ahead and get your free account for ahrefs just so, you can double check everything that is it for today and i'll be back here Shortly and we'll go more into my website and what i'm doing and how i'm using these tools to hopefully help build up my site and get some traffic going to that.
