We are Sally and Silvie. We are identical twins.
We share with you here daily reflections on life and love, people and things... and God.
It is when we get busy doing what we can do, that we put ourselves in a position where God can start moving.
In spite of all the great things you may have done, in spite of all the money and material wealth you have accumulated in this life, if you didn’t have love you didn’t accomplish much.
Life is full of uncertainties, surprises, curve balls, and detours. And so much noise! We often feel lost, or at least not sure as to which course of action to take.
We should all ask ourselves: “What are we doing now in this world that we will be able to take with us into the next?”
Man’s natural mode is to get proud sometimes, to get arrogant, to think we know more than God.
We keep clean to take care of our bodies, our health, our well being.
The same holds true for us spiritually.
People are so incredibly divided and at odds with each other when it comes to their beliefs. No wonder so many people are turned off to God.
There is only one thing we can take with us from this life; and that is what we do unselfishly and for others.
As long as we try to do the right thing and be courteous and loving to others we’ll have nothing to worry about!
Anyone can get mad, get up in arms and fly into a fit of rage. But it shows real worth to control yourself.
Some people don’t hear from God, because they are lazy. They want someone else to give them the solution to their problem.
Over 80% of the world’s population makes under $10. a day. Still, people idolize the wealthy, justify them and even exalt them as role models!
We have to stop doing things in our own understanding, in our own reasoning, and in our own energy and strength.
Since the beginning of time men and women have had difficulty understanding each other, because we are different.
Do you love the Lord? There are many, many hundreds of millions of people that love Him too.
Life has gotten so complex; none of us can presume to see the whole picture about anything really.
Many have painted God as distant. Others as a heartless tyrant. Just exactly what DOES God want from us?
Life can be frustrating. And people can be especially annoying.
What can be done about it?
A farmer plants his seeds. But he doesn’t see any fruits right away. He has to be very patient. And if he doesn’t give up, he will see the fruits of his labor.
Quit trying so hard. Rest in the Lord and trust in Him. Let Him work and He will do it through you
We believe that the most important thing is to put God first, and to be loving to those around us.
The so-called Christian world is fragmented and divided with their fussing, fighting, and pet doctrines.
Watch out what you listen to. We actually turn into the things we expose ourselves to over time.
A lot of the pressure in our lives is caused by trying to control situations and people; by insisting on having things our way.
True beauty is more than just physical appearance. A person with love in their heart will always be attractive.
Some things in life are not so clear cut, not black or white, but more often than not one of many shades of gray.
Work on the ounce of prevention now, rather than worrying about the pound of cure later.
Everyone comes into our lives for “a reason, a season, or a lifetime” and every relationship can be a
stepping stone.
Putting God first in your life is a never ending journey of miracles, as He leads you every step of the way.
Don’t ever feel that because there is so much darkness your little flame will not make a difference.
Communication in marriage is more than just saying what you want or think.
Communication is also listening.
There is only one way to be happy in this world: Be grateful for all the good in your life.
Do you want the key to every heart? Stop trying to make people listen to you, and show some sincere interest in them.
If you sometimes feel like your loving efforts are in vain, remember, there are a LOT of other people doing great and wonderful things for the world.
It takes a long time to build something. Yet so much can be lost in just one moment
of carelessness.
Happiness comes when you stop thinking you have to get somewhere, do something, or have something to be happy.
We are grateful that we can help the needy, pray for the sick, encourage people, and generally just be a blessing to others.
Jesus said that the only way the world would know that we all are His children would be when they see the love we have for each other.
If we make an effort to seek the Lord’s strength, we find that we will be more productive.
King Solomon said, “The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not let him sleep.”
The day will come when love will triumph, light will conquer darkness, and fear will flee away.
One of the main problems in the world today is people who criticize every little thing they don’t like.
It’s beautiful how different we all are. We can all learn something from everyone we meet.
If you want fame, riches, and glory here in this world, enjoy them while you can, because they won’t last.
We need to realize that the things we have in common are so much greater than the things we tell ourselves make us different.
This world is our classroom and we are here in this life to learn the lessons that are unique to us.
We should each ask ourselves what we are doing to share God's message of hope and love.
We can be tempted to feel like we're missing out when we see others with more, but it's all relative.
If you will just take a few minutes to seek the Lord, you will find that your days will begin to take a
different shape.
God loves a mystery. He likes to see us trying to figure things out, and seeking His guidance
and leadings.
Is there someone special in your life who accepts you no matter what?
A friend like that is something to be cherished.
Too many people promote a religion of keeping dumb rules. But God's not the merciless tyrant that they make Him out to be.
These days there are all kinds of products, pills, plans, and philosophies that promise to empower us. But one of the main lessons of life is when we are weak in ourselves God has an opportunity to work.
Having faith in the invisible is illogical, but it is as we believe that we begin to see.
We all go through difficult times in our lives, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
It can be frustrating when we try to share our wisdom with others but they don't listen to us.
We have to let them learn for themselves, and trust God to work in their lives.
If this life is all there is, then it makes sense to just have fun now.
But if there is an afterlife then we would do well to live for more than just temporary pleasures.
People seem to surround themselves with non-stop noise nowadays. It seems like they've forgotten the beauty of silence.
Jesus didn’t have money or a college education.
He was homeless and a friend of drunks and whores.
He didn't resemble the average "goody goody" church goer of today!
Deceptive advertising, politician's broken promises, widespread greed and division are all signs of the times we live in. Only Christ's return will set things straight.
Everything in our lives, every relationship we have, both good and bad, are mere stepping stones to make us what God wants us to be.
We are ALL busy these days, but none of us like to be ignored.
We show respect by taking time for others.
