A community impact and engagement platform aimed at making black people more accessible outside of the workplace and play space. The ultimate goal is demystification, understanding and connection through discourse. One goal is to replace the “learned” with authentic firsthand experience.

RAINBOW BOX is a community impact project centering and amplifying the voice of Black LGBTQIA+ individuals by sharing their stories through a series of interdisciplinary offerings. Large format photographs, temporary and semi-permanent murals, audio podcast from interviews and a choreographed recorded performance. It serves both as a listening and education tool related to lived experiences, the evolution of preferred pronouns, their definitions and queer diasporic aesthetics. This project is meant to ground the participants in their humanity and be a conduit for connectivity.
