Bernon Hell was the name of the lead singer of the Skankabillies, Nathan Baugh. Nathan, an artist who lived his art without realizing it, was frustrated to death in December of 2015. With all love and desperation, these lyrics were written in his memory. These words do not reflect the character of Mr. Baugh, who was a tortured soul and boy lost in his time. It is for him in that he would love it. I know Nathan would think this was the funniest things ever, and he would have loved to have sang these words for the Skankabillies. And no one would ever be able to sing these words the way he could sing them.
The Skankabillies, an amazingly brilliant failed rockabilly band, destroyed themselves with naivety and frustration. Will the remaining Skankabillies ever reunite? It is unlikely, for we are all so far flung and ideologically incompatible. Still, each remaining member persists with art in some form or another. Let them ride, let them ride, let them ride on to the trade-day - filthy skanks.
