The Mic Drop Club welcomes, Melary Kapapiro to show - a great friend and a rare Mental Health leader that is not afraid to challenge stereotypes in the pursuit of making positive changes to improve health and wellbeing.
Melary breaks down the core issues behind covid vaccination hesitancy in Black and ethnic minorities in the UK. Offering areas for government and local community focus with practical solutions explored e.g. gamification in health.
It’s not shocking to hear that ‘Control’ is a major issue concerning the vaccination programme, this view was shared by Novak Djokovic resulted in deportation from Australia. We even have time to recap the Naomi Osaka 2021 saga - when she was slated by the press for not providing a post-match interview to protect her mental health.
This remains one of my favourite conversations in 2021. I thought this great discussion was lost, however, through a stroke of luck and good fortune, I found it on an old SSD drive.

He also said that he had bipolar disorder. These challenges eventually contributing to his early death. Pre-Recorded Live Reaction to Meghan and Harry being stripped of their Royal patronages. Why is this even an issue in 2021? It is not merely the returning of Harry's honorary military appointments - which shall be redistributed to working members of the Royal Family.
It raises fundamental questions concerning the value of Titles compared to Character and dedication to helping the wider community. The Royal 'Family' being a 'Family' at its core has its own set of highly publicised rituals, traditions, beliefs, protocols that all members must adhere to. In Meghan and Harry's case, these appear to surpass the need for basic human bonding based on simply being oneself. Jonas from MindKicker shares his insights on how we can learn to better individuals, accepting of difference, and confident in our own understanding of who we are.

I am not my body, my mind, my emotions. Everything begins with me. I am Light, I am Peace, I am Harmony! "All of our lives are too unique to copy the path from someone else".
"The greatest challenge in life is not my imperfections, my greatest challenge is my ability to truly be honest with myself" Align and structure your life like this:
4 step method to align and structure your life in a way to prevent these hindrances
Recognize, the state of mind I am finding myself in
Accept, acknowledge and allow the situation or person to be the way they are.
Investigate my emotional and mental state
Non-Identity with the practice. I am my body, mind, or emotions There are 2 imported things along the way to mastery 1. Not starting 2. Not going all the way If any of you chooses to climb that path to clarity, I would be very happy to meet you at the peak.
School teaches you lessons, then gives you a test.. Life gives you a test, which teaches you a lesson. Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power. Sensei

Yet many people go about their lives without stopping to consider, the root of their belief system, the reason behind their actions to why they gravitate towards certain people, places and things. I have pleasure in sharing with you one of the most deliciously inspiring conversations with Margit Mulder. This podcast will reframe the way you view elemental shapes such as the Square and Circle as Margit shares insights to the source of her passion.
Margit is Dutch, happily married and has lived in London for over 25 years. A self-proclaimed creative communicator (graphic designer, ideas person) that draws inspiration from the heart to inspire happiness. This work has led her to work with individuals as well as organisations such as schools and charities who want to promote awareness of a good cause to affect positive behavioural change.
Margit graduated as a Professional Creative Wellbeing Practitioner in 2016 with IATE (Institute of Arts and Therapy and Child Mental Health and the Metropolitan University of London) Offering 1:1 and group creative therapeutic interventions to children and young people who may present emotional, social, behavioural and mental health issues, particularly when suffering from anxiety, new environments, exam pressures, peer pressure, routines and transitions.
With her therapeutic, compassionate presence and unrelenting love, she focuses a lot of her time working collaboratively with families, communities and embraces the school ethos for every child to transform and realise their potential. Margit presents herself as truthfully authentic enabling children to be themselves so that they can find that special star inside, that feels like their “purpose”. She aims to help children feel valued for their differences and uniquenesses, feeling accepted, knowing that they are heard, loved for who they are and that they matter.
Also a talented artist, Margit has illustrated four books around a character called Squarehead. Available on iamsquarehead.com The Squarehead series of books encourages children to embrace their uniqueness and understand that “it’s OK to be you”. Linked to the themes in the books, such as “Lessons for Life” and "Squarehead does mindfulness” plans, which facilitate a creative, integrative and relational means to empower teachers, carers and wellbeing practitioners to help children with their self-worth, self-confidence, self-love, self-respect and kindness to themselves and others.
Such learnings lead to children expressing and understanding their emotions, developing resilience so they are better equipped to deal with anxieties and hardships, meaning they can handle everyday frustrations better and bounce back from life’s challenges. The ultimate objective is to ensure that children can “PLAY” and are focussing their energy on learning, building better relationships with themselves and others.
Margit is curious and passionate about connecting with people and my community. Margit has been living in Peckham since 2013 and has been sharing a “daily” quote on a chalkboard in the middle of my front garden. “The real-life twitter from a Peckham BIRD"; ”Helping Peckham think, feel, do and change! I choose these quotes very carefully. The boards hold elements/themes of: Inspiration, Creativity, Courage, Love, Empathy, Hope, Freedom, Playfulness, Acceptance and Curiosity
She only realised HOW powerful this form of communication after receiving thank-you notes and letters through the post box. I have had many profound, meaningful and beautiful conversations with passers-by that have moved me. It has given her so many wonderful connections and magical experiences. During the festive period, Margit has become accustomed and deeply humbled to receive Xmas cards with wishes and some people have even baked her cakes and bread to show their appreciation. The chalkboard is like mirrors of the person’s inner world. Kohut talks about the developmental theory for our need to be mirrored so that we feel special and valued Kohut says in the twinship need we wish to be like others to belong. When a passer-by is touched by the board it can make them feel less alone as it means someone-else must have had a similar experience for it to end up on the board. You won’t understand the unabashed power of a community until you are part of one.

There is a better, smarter more efficient way to send alerts whilst reducing noise, - Ian Binks
The noise levels in intensive care units have received a lot of attention of late, due to the COVID pandemic. Many non-clinicans such as reporters with their camera crews have left feeling shocked and amazed as to how doctors and nurses deliver care with the relentless bleeps/alarms from hospital equipment.
The World Health Organization recommends that average patient room noise levels remain around 30 decibels. According to Medscape Medical News, the recommended maximum noise level is 40 decibels. But the average sound level at hospitals, according to a recent study: 48 decibels raising to 90-95 decibels in critical units. This equates to someone shouting to shouting in a subway.
Ian discusses what needs to be done to reduce these harmful noise levels including pager replacement alternatives. The days of clinicians running across wards in a blind panic in response to a pager alarm should be a thing of the past. Please enjoy!

This has been our most emotionally challenging podcast to put out. If like us you've been moved by the brutal killing on George Floyd by US police officers then you will also realise that Racism is still prevalent despite our technological advancements, and relative peace and prosperity. In fact many would argue that Racism never died, but has has taken on a new alias.
Today we shine a light on Racism, it's creation and its roots. Then we explore the possible solutions that will enable us all to live together in the spirit of the late Dr Martin Luther King JNR.
Tune in and engage - Racism Who's problem is it?
RIP George Floyd your legacy lives on.

Do you hate change, or love it? - It depends whether the change is imposed (like tax) or chosen (like marriage) - Philip Cox-Hynd

Welcome to Part 1:8 of a series of shows focused on the hidden factors behind human behaviour.
In order to achieve our own goals. It is important that we able to reflect without bias on our own behaviours and emotions, seeking to understand its root cause and how to overcome them. All too often people fail to reach their optimum potential because they are stuck in a loop of limiting emotions that drives non-productive/constructive behaviours.
Equally, to become better communicators, it is vital we pay heightened attention to the signals a person is displaying as these can reveal their underlying emotions and processes to manage them.
In this show we unpack the lowest level of emotion which shame. This emotion is rarely discussed, as the people tend prioritise other high-profile states of emotions such as Anxiety, Depression and Anger. To support this series, we shall be inviting guests’ speakers to delve deeper on the subject to help you to support yourself or others seeking to overcome their emotions:
Shame is an unpleasant self-conscious emotion typically associated with a negative evaluation of the self; withdrawal motivations; and feelings of distress, exposure, mistrust, powerlessness, and worthlessness.
Don’t be limited,
Enjoy don’t just Live life, Make Life BOOM!

We all from time to time wonder into hidden treasure troves of our minds where we tell and retell stories of past events, present challenges, imaged or real future battles yet to be fought and overcome. These stories we tell follow the Hero’s journey structure as defined by academic Joseph Campbell in 1949.
This is the theme of today’s exclusive Interview with with Amazon Bestselling Author Stephen R. Marriot, as he shares his own person journey of inner discovery walking The Santiago de Compostela, known in English as the Way of St. James, is a network of pilgrims' ways or pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried.
Stephen R. Marriott is a bestselling independent author and traveller. He grew up in Portishead in the West Country of England. Although just a small-town boy at heart he has worked in stockbroking in the City of London and has visited 50+ countries. His writing career began in 2012 when seeking adventure, he took a very long walk across Spain and subsequently discovered his creative spirit.
In this wide-ranging conversation, we go deep into his creative process, his values and beliefs and life challenges. Stephen drops loads of gems that will definitely leave you feeling motivated and inspired as only a author is capable of doing.
Thanks Stephen (Atomic Mic Drop) Marriot, I look forward to catching up with you again!

I managed to catch up with Kevin using the wonders of technology to bring you this episode of The Mic Drop Club focusing on the worldwide Rampant surge in Domestic Violence from COVID-19 Isolation. We joined forces to raise awareness and support victims of abuse by equipping them with the tools to regain their confidence, pride, self-esteem and ultimately take back control of their lives.
Kevin is a long-time friend and founder of Kevin Dwyer of 1 Inspirational Step that provides Life Coaching, Leadership Development, Executive Coaching and Public Speaking. His journey is truly amazing and shall be covered in future shows.
As we continue to be firmly in the grip of the Corona Virus pandemic Experts are warning of a sharp spike in cases of domestic violence and child abuse.
About one in four women and one in seven men have experienced severe physical violence from an intimate partner, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Adriana Mello, a Rio de Janeiro judge specialising in domestic violence reports a rise of 40% or 50% in Domestic Violence, and there was already really big demand.
This is the hidden by-product from working at home which many people are currently coming to terms with. This unlike the Corona Virus is a different type of disaster of the humankind – the kind that has its origins in psychosocial factors that include poverty, high expressed emotions, poor education, lack of opportunity, stress, poor mental and physical wellbeing and crime etc.
Governments around the globe are trying to control the spread of the virus and this has provided fertile ground for abusers to exploit their victims by applying their version of lockdowns – quarantines. With nowhere to go the vulnerable especially children are at increased risk and must be supported.
We discuss the importance of understanding the root of your WHY as it relates to your relationship values, beliefs and principles. This is so important to reframing GOALS needed to break free from the abusive relationship.
We explore various books, audible books and technology to gain knowledge through other people’s experiences so you can also make the right choices and stay connected to support networks. “That's the thing abusers want, to be isolated at home with their victim and cut them off from any supports”
As in so many cases of domestic abuse, children are often caught in the middle and can be the focus of abuse, we discuss How you can support and keep them safe. (Always contact the emergency services if you are at risk of abuse!)
We explore how peoples limiting beliefs can negatively impact on their ability to choose suitable partners.
We expose the Abuser Achilles heel – their desire to take away your power and control you because that is exactly what they have failed to master within themselves. “Abuse is about power and control,”
Since you’re here... We officially launch #squeakaloud for anyone that going through or supporting someone that is a victim of abuse. Use the #squeakaloud to show your support and raise awareness across all your social media. We are looking to collaborate with people/organisations and charities to help support victims of abuse.
It is far better to squeak, even if your voice shakes, you shall eventually be heard and get the support you deserve. With enough people squeaking the noise will be so loud it will warrant Government intervention offering better Support Lines, Educational Programmes, Outreach Services, Places for Safety and Stronger custodial sentences for perpetrators of violence.
Plus, so much more.
As you can imagine this is a weighty topic that requires more time and expert input from all sides to do it justice. Kevin and I merely scratched the surface and shall be continuing the series. If you would have been touched by this episode and want to contribute your views or be a guest, then please reach out on the details below.

Welcome to another show, hope you along with your love ones are safe indoors.
As we move into another week confined to our homes, I thought it only fitting to keep you pumped up, focused and inspired. This is a transitional period and some people struggle with change, however this change is like no other as we all have no idea how long this virus outbreak is going to last including how many people it shall be affected.
So in this shortened show, let me just remind you that you are not alone and share these quick tips for thriving in the home.
Tips
1) Quickly form new habits and routines, if you are used to waking up early for work then continue to do so.
2) Organise your environment so it supports home working
3) Take regular breaks throughout the day
4) Let your family know how they can support you in this process

Health & Wellbeing Apps are fast becoming the de facto mode in which we receive and input health information. This demand fuelled by work pressures of being mobile with very little down time.

Kobe Bryant's Awful Death Exposes Shocking Life lessons on Grief
First, at foremost we would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the families of all the victims of the fateful helicopter crash. Stay Strong may your loved ones forever Rest in Paradise X
John Altobelli and his wife, Keri, were on board the helicopter with their daughter Alyssa, who played on the same club team as Gianna Bryant. Christina Mauser, 38, Ara Zobayan, 50
Sarah Chester, 45, and Payton Chester, 13 Mother and daughter Sarah and Payton Chester were among the nine victims of the helicopter crash. (More details to be added when the full report is released)
Kobe Bryant, 41
Bryant was an NBA MVP had a 20-year career with the Lakers that began when he was 18.
He had a 19-year marriage with his wife, Vanessa, and was a father of four daughters, including 13-year-old Gianna, who died along with Bryant on Sunday morning.
By the end of his basketball career — all of it spent with the Lakers — Bryant was a five-time world champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist with the U.S. team and 18-time All-Star. He ranks fourth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Over the weekend, he was surpassed for third place on that list by Lakers star LeBron James.
In this show, we discuss the process of grief and explore with real-life examples using The Kübler-Ross model, or the five stages of grief. Details available below.
The Kübler-Ross model, or the five stages of grief
Grief touches the hearts of all human beings and our discussions using examples from many cultures so that you can learn techniques to help you move forward from the loss of a loved one. From African Wailers to talking therapy there is something we all can take from this podcast.
Kobe’s death can be used as a beacon of hope to spark conversations that should be taking place in everyone homes, preparing for loss can sometimes not be planned so if you do have time have that discussion with your loved ones.
Anyone that is currently going through grief there is solutions out there, even if denial seems like an option and detachment from reality appears to be the only feasible option – speak to someone that cares, counselling be it from a family member or professional is strongly advised.
Failing to process grief effectively can result in people expressing loss in various ways.
Anger people go through whilst grieving. A few of them is they can lash with acts of violence towards themselves, objects or others. they feel about the circumstance the appropriate way and being immune to anger. Children, in particular, should be equipped with the tools to help them manage grief, as unresolved mourning can result in poor health, economic, personal outcomes as adults.
We also discuss

The Liars Amongst Us – How Does Your Resume/CV Stand Up to ‘The lasso of Truth’
You all heard the expression FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT, what happens when you fake it at least on your resume and get that dream job. You might think you have won, and the battle is over, but the Truth will always surface over time. This Podcast addresses the problem lying; telling white liars, being economical with the truth on your CV and the effects it has on you and your organisation. According to Monster the online job search engine, 85% of recruiters said that candidates exaggerate skills and competencies on their resumes.
This week another high-profile staff was caught lying on their resume/cv – Special shout out to Digitalhealth for breaking the story 1st. For more information check out the links below.
Ex-Oxford CIO gets two-year suspended sentence for lying about the degree
A former chief information officer (CIO) has been given a two-year suspended jail sentence for lying about his degree to get a £135,000 per-year job.
Other high-profile people found guilty for telling lies on their resume/cv.
Scott Thompson
Ex-Yahoo CEO Scott Thompson claimed he had computer science and accounting degrees from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. He only had an accounting degree. Thompson, who was hired in January 2012, agreed to resign from Yahoo that May after an activist investor brought the lie to light
Marilee Jones
Jones, who was dean of admissions from 1997 to 2007 at the ultra-prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, perpetuated for 28 years the lie that she had three degrees. In reality, she had none. As the head of admissions, ironically, Jones cut the number of space candidates would have to describe extracurriculars on applications, saying more space would mean more fluff. The school learned through an anonymous tip in 2007 that Jones had puffed up her credentials, and she was forced to quit.
Telling liars on your CV can get you prosecuted for Fraud and whilst you are in post you risk not being to perform at your best or your best might not be the standard required for the position. There are positions that this could directly affect the safety of the public or patients. Besides feeling like a fraud face being subjected to constant negative thoughts in your ability that gives rise to imposter syndrome, lack in confidence, over defensive practices, shame, isolation and a lack in professional competence. Not to mention guilt, to deny someone else more qualified to do the job.
I discuss how a silly ‘white lie’ can land in big trouble during the job interview process.
How to create a digital profile that best reflects your skills, passions and goals.
Employers have their own ‘lasso of Truth’ to tease out the truth for candidates during the interview process and before making the final selection. However, not all employers have robust processes in place to validate the education and skills required, more of them simply use LinkedIn. In Health (NHS) particularly this is not acceptable, care professionals are registered against bodies such as GMC (General Medical Council) The medical register is a list of doctors in the United Kingdom, showing their registration status, training and other useful information and the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council). Misleading, the NHS with skills and qualifications you do not have could put patients’ lives at risk! So, Don’t do it!
Any Healthcare provider that has been exposed for wrongly employing staff to facilitate care risk more than embarrassment, we are talking about persecutions, being placed under special measures and even corporate manslaughter where there has been a loss of life. All of these come to light when there has been a serious onto wards incident and investigators search for the Truth.
Please, before you click submit on that resume/cv double check that it will stand up to the ‘lasso of Truth’ enabling you to look your future employer directly into the eye with Authenticity, Integrity & honesty.
If your resume is clean and you can stand by all its content then use #cvclean
Don't Lie to get your dream job – all this, ‘Fake it until you make it MUST STOP!’
Instead, ‘LIVE IT UNTIL YOU BECOME IT!’
If you are not successful in your application - Remember you are so much more!

Welcome the 1st interview of 2020 and what a glorious awe-inspiring show we have for you to get you pumped up for not only the week ahead, but to serve a sustenance for the entire decade ahead.
Stories of not being born with a silver spoon in the mouth come a dime and dozen – however subjective the story, few resonate and touch the soul. When I heard Leigh’s story, I was compelled to share it with you all in order to inspire, motivate and cultivate a fighter’s spirit that I believe we all have. Tapping into this source of strength can literally transport you out from a desperate situation, be that poverty, drug addiction, severe injuries, overcoming loss and even violence. Leigh has navigated these obstacles and bares all in this NO HOLDS BARRED interview.
Leigh is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu athlete which is a martial art and combat sport system that focuses on grappling with particular emphasis on ground fighting. Before we get into the details, here is his injury list to help set the scene regarding what you must potentially go through and overcome to reach the zenith in this sport. By the way Leigh recently won 3 gold and 1 bronze medal at the Brazilian jiu-jitsu event held on Poland.
Injury list (major)
Removed left deltoid/ part of bicep 15/6/19
3 (complete) broken ribs left side March ‘18
Snapped sternum
Popped right knee (meniscus tear)
2 broken ribs right side
Broken fingers/toes
Weaknesses - NONE.
Leigh is hard as nails so the rest is his own words, I was Admitted to hospital after the 4th visit to A&E on June 15th ‘19
I was meant to compete in the Spanish Nationals that weekend and then the British Nationals the weekend after. Obviously, that didn’t happen, I spent 5days in hospital. 1.5hrs in surgery the 1st time and 2hrs the 2nd. I had part of my triceps and deltoid removed due to a serious (arm/life threatening) infection. My white blood cell count for inflammation was 155, normal levels are between 0 - 5.
Things like this motivate me, it’s like throwing a bucket of petrol over my fire to compete. They told me two months for a full recovery, I was back in the gym on the Monday. That’s 5 days after I was discharged, and I aimed to be back competing by October.
I started my fight camp for that (the London fall) on the 26th Sep, that’s 5 weeks after my operation to save my arm and ultimately my life. go figure.
Halfway through the camp my body unfortunately shut down. The telling day was the morning that we did 2hrs of kickboxing, boxing and Jiu Jitsu (all sparring rounds) I popped my knee in the first half hour with a sweep kick and I knew that was my sign.
The following week I lost my appetite, I had inflammation throughout my whole body. I couldn’t extend either of my arms or the leg I had just injured. My neck hurt, my back hurt, my forearms and legs felt tight. It was time to stop.
When I reflect back on how much I actually did after my operation it is totally crazy, I mean I went from being practically dead to a super intense fight camp training twice a day 6days a week five weeks later. Heavy compound exercises, cardiac output, heart rate power intervals, combat training. No Quit. Obviously, I worked up to this, I was in the gym five days after I was discharged from hospital. Ffs.
Look it’s like this, call me crazy or call me stupid but, you know, you only find your limits by pushing them. I don’t like sitting still, time waits for no-one and I would rather die trying than to live on a what if. I have a vision and I am working my arse off to achieve that vision, the world, the universe, it knows what I want but it’s been slowing me down for a reason. I was pushing too hard in the wrong direction. It was time to take a (subtle) step back.
Since then I started my next fight camp at the beginning of Dec for the European championship which will be my next competition in 3 weeks.
Adversities are part of life how you handle them is living.
‘THE MIC DROP CLUB’ would like to Thank Leigh for taking the time out from his busy schedule to share loads of Mic Drop moments – We wish him Joy, Love and Success for 2020 & beyond.

This is it folks we are minutes away from saying goodbye to 2019 - This is the time to reflect on own progress over the last decade and make the necessary adjustments to propel yourself onwards, upwards and outwards into 2020. In this podcast We go back and forth in our usual robust mode to tease out the things we can do to give us the greatest chance of success.
We explore and break down SMART Goals - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time Based. How this applied is so crucial to your chances of success.
We expose how your values, principles and beliefs should be aligned with your vision and goals, and the problems that can occur when this is not the case. Weaving in the usual personal real life stories to bring the subject of goal setting to life. Behind your fear and anxieties is your victories
Let your actions be smart in terms of how you reach your goals. Do not simply work rapidly without a plan or put your energy in unfruitful situations
Be available (Ready and willing)
Be realistic on where you are at, what things you have to leave behind in order take steps to go on the journey of achieving the goals you have set for yourself - Remembering to not let your presenting situation define your destination.
Be selective on who you tell your goals and plans to that are still in embryonic stages in your mind. You must guard and protect your goal from negative influences until its birthed in reality and has become solid.
This will also enable you to build it and establish some ground towards your goals without feeling pressurised - however be careful here as a little pressure never hurt anyone, we all need a sense of urgency to act.
Positives on telling people about your dreams:
It enables those people with capabilities to help you to do so.
If your dreams don't scare you you are wasting your time as you will not be pushed beyond your perceived limits.
Happy New Year to you all and THANK YOU for the support throughout the year.

As we fast forward to concluding 2019, many people will be focusing on their New Year’s Resolutions. Indeed, this has a greater sense of priority as it is the start of a new decade. Before we get into that, it is important to reflect without bias on your achievements throughout the year. Have you managed to Lead yourself and others effectively in the pursuit of your goals? As a backdrop to answer this question we have debated the various leadership styles exhibited by Jeremy Corbyn and Boris Johnson in the 2019 UK general elections. Both exhibited contrasting styles with the result evidenced by a massive win for Boris Johnson.
We unpack the common leadership styles so you can also see which style or combination will best match your personality, views and vision for the future. The good thing about leadership is that it can be taught, so long as one remains opened minded and open to be challenged though constructive feedback and can reflect without bias.

I had the fortunate pleasure in meeting Sherelle at a fantastic event Networth & Chill Networking Event in London a few weeks back. Big up! to Mykal Lancaster and his Team for putting on an excellent event that showcases talented individuals that have taken the brave step in starting/running their own businesses. Sherelle is certainly one of those entrepreneurs, she is on a mission fuelled and sustained by her belief in GOD to create handmade skincare products using natural ingredients. Sherelle is the founder of Faith, Hope and Love Natural Products and creates handmade skincare products using natural ingredients. She plans to solidify her existing customer base and expand her operations to creating Haircare and natural living too.
During the event, Sherelle took some time out from pitching her wares to talk to me about her business. What followed was a brief account of her amazing journey over the last couple of years, and she kindly agreed to share with THE MIC DROP CLUB with the view to inspire and motivate others. This podcast is a telephone recording of our conversation – we had to make it happen regardless of her tight schedule.
Sherelle’s secret source is indeed no secret at all – she is openly revealing that she is acting in accordance with a mission set forth by GOD to be an entrepreneur. She is merely answering her call with unweathering faith that GOD is rocket fuel propelling her towards success. It is this faith that has enabled Sherelle to triumph over all the challenges in her path. Being a single mother, loss of employment – yet Sherelle still is rising.
Sherelle discusses her passion for making natural skin products that are individually crafted along, how and why she chose the words Faith, Hope & Love for business, the challenges in starting a business plus so much more. The jewels of wisdom in this interview can be applied by all no matter your background.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview Sherelle is a beautiful sincere human being with a quality product – there are not many products out there that have this combination between owner/producer and product. Less just say this, I bought a Gift package from her website as a Christmas present for a family member. It arrived promptly, perfectly wrapped, so I was compelled to open it, I sampled the products, now it’s mine – all mine – my precious!
Lookout in the new year for part 2 of this conversation.

Welcome to Part 3 of the final part of the miniseries Let’s Talk Mental Health – where we have explored mental health, trauma from a parents view, we have discussed with Geert Bettinger author of MOVING ON BY STANDING STILL - how to make sense of behaviour that can be deemed as challenging from both his journey and working with educators, families.
Available on Amazon so go check it out!
Today, I am blessed once again and extremely grateful to welcome Jenny Pink to the conversation to help seal by triangulating this very important subject by providing a view from the clinical perspective.
It is through the sharing of different views of mental health we can raise our awareness and hopefully build the confidence to support anyone that has or is going through a mental health crisis, regardless of the root cause:

Part 2 of 3 – Let’s Talk Mental Health – How to Find Meaning in ‘Problem Behaviour’ ft Geert Bettinger author of Moving on by Standing Still
As we steadily build our #mentalhealthawareness it is important to not overlook the behavioural traits of people that are going through or have gone through traumatic life events, developmental disabilities and mental illness including dementia. To help us better understand how to separate the behaviour from the person, we welcome via Skype Geert Bettinger author of Moving on by Standing Still to The Mic Drop Club. This groundbreaking book was written to challenge our perceptions on ‘Problem Behaviour’ by questioning our values, beliefs and attitudes. His book has taken him around the world and is fast becoming the de-facto book to changing the culture of care to one that champions the patients experience, needs, wishes and feelings.
“Is the behaviour a problem for you or the individual?”
I had the pleasure of co-delivering a care planning module with Geert to pre-registered Nurses at Kingston University. Our approach was described as electric, the students were able to explore his methods through role-play, addressing key issues such as patient empowerment, embracing silence, remaining open and non-judgemental whilst acknowledging that the patient is the expert based on their lived experience with the illness. The care professional is there to support them on the journey to recovery.
“The time has come to re-educate the educators”
This interview was facilitated by Skype as Geert is based in the Netherlands,

Part 1 of 3 – Series focusing on raising Mental Health Awareness
As we fast approach Christmas, I would like to shift the focus to #mentalhealth with the view to raising awareness by interviewing people that have had direct experience living with a mental illness including the often forgotten family members, friends and carers - as you will hear play a crucial role in an individual's journey to recovery. Lastly, the Health and Social Care professionals that deliver the care. It is my hope that this triangulation of the different views and experiences will give you a better holistic view of mental health. Managing your mental health is central to achieving your goals and The central wealth of our people is mental health - Master Ace Letter to the Better.
I was fortunate enough to discuss with a close friend and colleague Tracy Page on her journey supporting her daughter with her mental health challenges. Tracy speaks candidly how she navigated the mental health system with all its complexities, the thoughts and feeling she had at the time, her copying strategies and ultimately coming to terms the new reality as defined by her daughter. This podcast packs a real punch and shall resonate with anyone that is going a similar challenge. I ask you kindly forward this podcast to them.
It is now commonly accepted that 1 in 4 of us shall develop some sort of mental health illness in our lifetime – common diagnoses being depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenia and bipolar. Although much of the stigma has gone, there is still plenty of work that needs to be done in supporting people experiencing mental health challenges. Service provisions in many areas in the UK are lacking in resources, Inpatient wards are not adequately staffed, staff need better training in the Recovery Module, Community Teams spend far too little time with service users the list is endless. Yet, despite this Tracy has demonstrated great resilience, her daughter even greater courage and that combination should instil hope for everyone going through this challenge.
If this interview resonance with you or you would like more information on how to support someone with mental health illness, feel free to drop us a line and we will gladly signpost you in the right direction.

On a sombre note, the UK was hit with yet another terrorism-related incident on #BlackFriday - the 2nd incident in less than 3 years. This Podcast welcomes back Everton Barton alongside cohost Jing (The Best Kept Secret) to discuss the root causes of Terrorism, the common threads and what needs to be done to stop this rise in mindless violence.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and we salute the brave individuals including the London Metropolitan Police that assisted in containing the incident, preventing more loss of life.
The Mic Drop Club stands up for Love, Unity and Respect for all people of this Beautiful we stand square with all efforts to stop the rise of Terrorism.
The number 13 is considered an unlucky number in some countries, but certainly not in this case. Welcome to the 13th Mic Drop Club Podcast, in this session I had the pleasure of discussing with Everton Barton Gaming Expert and Champion for better Mental Health Awareness for Gaming Addictions. The timing could not have been any better with #blackfriday, #cybermonday and #christmas fast approaching many people are searching for the next video game console or games for their loved ones or themselves. However, there has been conflicting press coverage on the effects of gaming on the young and impressionable – some making connections to poor educational attainment, violent outbursts and even terrorism. There has been a noticeable lack of objective reporting and certainly no root cause debate between the gaming industry, schools and law enforcement/government. The lack of triangulation has resulted in many people feeling powerless and helpless when it comes to video games.
Everton has more than 30 years’ experience as a video gamer, developer and conceptual games designer. His exposure to mental health has sparked his keen interest in exposing the myths around Gaming to support people in their understanding of gaming, its benefits to children development, gaming cost considerations (Total Cost of owning and becoming an expert gamer), spotting early signs of addictions or unhealthy gaming habits.
Stay tuned in this conversation it will open your eyes to many aspects of gaming that are not commonly understood, enabling you to enjoy video games as they were intended.
The stereotypical gamer is not limited to a spotty faced teenager/middle-aged male, isolated in his or her bedroom possessing poor social skills. Gaming has evolved, and it continues to evolve into an international multibillion-dollar industry. It is through exposing these myths – debunking and getting to the root cause of Video game addiction also known as gaming disorder or internet gaming disorder is generally defined as problematic, compulsive use of video and/or internet games, that results in significant impairment to an individual's ability to function in various life domains over a prolonged period of time.
The UK gaming market is now worth a record £5.7bn (2019). In 2017, 32.4 million people play games in the UK, and is the sixth-largest video game market worldwide as of 2016, with a revenue of 3.94 billion U.S. dollars. There are now more than 2.5 billion gamers across the world. Combined, they will spend $152.1 billion on games in 2019, representing an increase of +9.6% year on year.
There is hope for anyone that is suffering from a Gaming Addiction, although signposting to services to support this condition is extremely poor in the UK.
Treatment for Gaming addiction is available privately within the UK whilst the NHS has been rather slower in recognising this condition and offering appropriate treatment - particularly regarding children’s Mental Health services where the threshold to receive treatment is very high due to a lack of resources caused by years of underfunding.
Everton Barton can be contacted directly on Linkedin and is happy to offer any advice as required.
Thank you, Everton, for sharing your deep knowledge on this subject – you are not just living life but making life BOOM!

This podcast was recorded after celebrating my God Son Leo's 2nd Birthday with his uncle Sebastian. We go back and forth in what was a continuation of a conversation around the dinner table, exploring the techniques used to achieve high results and how to expose the hidden drivers that fuel our desires. Sebastian provides his unique outlook on Life with a frank and honest self-reflective approach that is refreshing to hear. Based in the Netherlands, Sebastian is an accomplished basketball player that knows only too well just how difficult it is to keep one's motivation levels high, remain focused on your goals whilst trying to enjoy the sport. The conversation was delivered in high spirits to motivate you and to help you ask the important questions relating to the pursuit of your own goals.
Sebastian is definitely NOT one of those people plodding away through life, he is constantly asking, reflecting and actioning the feedback he receives to maximise his wins and minimise his loses. Don't just live life, make life BOOM!
Mutsa heads up Ubuntu Lab - which translates from its Southern African roots to mean, a quality that includes the essential human virtues; compassion and humanity.

I had the pleasure of catching up with my cousin Mutsa whilst on holiday in Zimbabwe, this podcast is an extract of that conversation.
Mutsa debunks the modern ‘work-life balance paradigm’, His Spiritual journey and why he believes the current ways of living are not good for personal growth, “it is all about being connected to something far bigger than yourself.
He drops many Mic Drop Jewels the highlight being a technique ACRR (Acknowledge, Confront, Remove & Replace) - used to help people come to terms with traumatic events and move forward in their lives.

As the UK is bracing itself for a Winter General Election on 12 December that has been triggered by the lack of progress with implementing # Brexit. We thought it only fitting to discuss and breakdown the popular misconceptions when it comes to voting, for example, young people are not engaged in #politics or the outcome of elections. In many cases across the world, politicians adopt a stance that young people should be seen and not heard, yet with the consequences of this election having severe ramifications for the UK and Europe, the spotlight has shifted in their favour.
In fact, many young people have vocalised their strong held views when it comes to #Climate change and #Equality and have taken to streets all across the globe for change.
There is no doubt that #brexit has divided the UK, the result of the referendum on June 23, 2016, revealing that the UK voted to leave the European Union by 51.89% for Leave to 48.11% for Remain, a margin of 3.78%. These tight margins evidenced in the splitting across the major political parties; Conservatives and Labour. People homes have also been divided by the effects of Brexit – so we have steered away from any party leanings or affiliations with a clear mandate to encourage you all to vote, because it does not matter who you vote for #Labour #Conservatives #Libdem or #Greenparty etc as long as the party is representing your views and addressing your needs.
Many people throughout history have fought for the right to Vote – so our unified call to action is for you all to go out on 12 December and cast your vote.
The deadline to register to vote

A honest a frank discussion on the benefits of forgiveness, let's be honest, we all at a certain point in life will suffer lost, pain and even resentment, coming to terms with forgiveness will enable you move positively forward all aspects of your life i.e. business, emotional wellbeing, relationships and loss. Equally to withhold forgiveness keeps alive emotions of hurt, anger and blame which discolour your perception of life and that of the person that has caused the grief.
