UA President Gary Miller celebrates these achievements and innovations with our community near and far in his podcast, “Good News with Gary.” In each episode, President Miller features points of pride, fun events and great accomplishments from our Zips community. In this episode Gary interviews the new dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences Dan Friesner. They talk about Dan's background in business schools and how it relates to the medical field, how he plans to run his department and how he was able to get through life as an educator during the Covid pandemic.

Dean McKinney talks about the Dr. Nicholas and Dorothy Cummings Center for the History of Psychology receiving a very generous gift, Jim Gilbride takes over for Chief Dale Gooding as the new University of Akron Police Chief, and informs everyone of two upcoming events happening in the Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences.
In this episode, Gary talks about partnering with rival Kent State University for the 3 plus 3 progam. He congratulates the members of the University's nurse anesthesia program for their amazing scores on their national certification exam and also shares good news about the Fall 2022 enrollment numbers.

Gary talks about UA's partnership with Akron Children's Hospital and shares the news that the Knight Foundation named UA Professor Ali Dhinojwala the W.
