Every episode, we'll interview people from a wide variety of disciplines within tech (sales, marketing, engineering, etc.) to break down strategies and tools you can use to kickstart your career. This includes advice on how to transition into the working world, tips on how you can stand out in the application process and the skills needed to be a top performer.

Shane Holden on what it is like interning for a tech start-up as part of your university course, learnings along the way, advice for other students and much more.
Shane is currently entering his final year of e-commerce in TUD and is on course to graduate in 2023. As part of the course, Shane and his classmates had to spend a semester on work placement. Shane interned with us here at Gradguide for 6 months and worked cross-functionally within sales and marketing during his time here.
Shane finished his placement in June and is currently travelling Canada with friends before entering his final year of studies.

Darren graduated from DCU in 2017 with a degree in Marketing Innovation Technology. During his studies he interned for Volkswagen Group Ireland and worked as an events specialist and coordinator for Coca-Cola.
In 2020, Darren decided to return to education to pursue a Masters degree in Strategic Management in UCD Michael Smurfit Business School. Soon after obtaining his Masters degree, he joined ClubSpot as their Commercial Manager.

Steve Crosbie on learning from experience, embracing the unknown and much, much more.

Eva Cullen on how she got into tech sales with a business degree, the importance of staying resilient in your job search and much, much more.
Eva graduated from Technological University Dublin with a degree in Business and Management in 2019. As is the case with many business graduates, Eva was unsure how what career path she could pursue.
She decided she wanted to make the move into tech sales and after a couple of unsuccessful interview processes, she landed a role with software powerhouse, Oracle. She stayed here for just under 18 months working as a Business Development Consultant becoming one of the top reps in the UK/Nordic market.
Just two months ago, Eva started a new job as an Account Director Associate with LinkedIn where she empowers organisations to grow, build their brand and hire top talent.

Lee graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management from TUD in 2017 where he was also the recipient of an athletic scholarship.

Clara Walsh gives advice on working hard, trusting the process, and much more.
Clara graduated with a Bachelor in Business Information Systems from UCC, where she was also awarded the title of College Scholar in both 2012 and 2013.
Upon graduation, Clara moved to CoreHR where she worked as a software developer for 18 months before she opted to undertake a research Masters in Fintech Innovation and Blockchain while working for State Street.
Clara remained here for two years earning a promotion to Senior Associate before joining Irish-founded startup, Workvivo, as one of their first hires.
Having originally started out as the Operations Manager, Clara has recently been promoted to Head of Customer and Employee Experience as the company has grown to over 100 employees.

Darren Lee on the power of a personal brand, why you should follow opportunities and much, much more.
Darren graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Systems from UCC in 2019. However, he started his career the summer prior in State Street working as an Analyst in their London office.
Throughout his final year, Darren worked as a Business Analyst for a Cork-based startup called NuArca before moving to Accenture upon graduation where he worked for nearly 18 months.

Orla White on the value of taking risks and the benefit of failing fast early in your career.
Orla graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies majoring in marketing from the University of Limerick in 2020. After doing an internship in ViClarity as part of her studies, Orla returned there upon graduation in a sales and marketing role.
It was during this time she discovered her passion for sales prompting a move to Dublin and into a role as a Data Enrichment Representative in Workplace from Facebook (now Meta) where she quickly progressed quickly to a Growth Lead position.
In June 2021, Orla decided to pack up and move to London where she moved into a Senior Business Developer role before recently getting promoted to a Customer Success Manager role.

Ben Butler on his journey from Stripe to Evervault and choosing the right startup.
Ben is a former Business Student of the Year and National Student Entrepreneur of the Year who graduated with a first-class honours in Law and Business from Trinity College before joining Stripe as a founding member in their Dublin office.
He worked in a range of roles throughout his tenure at the company, starting out in product support before progressing to a Program Manager role prior to his relocation to their American HQ in Seattle where he spent nearly two of his nearly five a half years with Stripe.
After leaving Stripe in late 2020, Ben took a six-month sabbatical before deciding he wanted to take on a new challenge and joined the much-hyped data security company, Evervault as the Head of Operations as they build out their team from their Dublin HQ.
Jeff Lovejoy on stepping out of your comfort zone and being open to change.
Jeff began his career in insurance before getting headhunted into Enterprise Rent-A-Car where he spent 13 years, receiving 14 promotions navigating from a branch manager to the talent acquisition manager department head for Scotland & Northern Ireland.
After leaving Enterprise Rent-A-Car, he returned to London where he spent 3 years with FDM Group as recruitment manager for UK/I before taking control as recruitment manager for Europe/ North America.
He joined a company called N26 which saw him make his way to Germany becoming the Global Future Talent and Operations Recruitment Manager. After, he spent time in SumUp before he made his way to Zalando where he is currently the Talent Acquisition Lead/Manager Early Careers.
Stan Massueras on the importance of skills over degrees, the benefits of side projects and much, much more.
Stan started his career in tech at Facebook Dublin as part of their EMEA expansion before leaving to join Twitter taking up a similar role.
He took his first plunge into startup land when he left that role to set up a business called Pulp, whose main competitor at the time was muscial.ly (now known as TikTok).
In 2017, Stan then made the decision to move back into the corporate world, joining an Irish-founded company called Intercom where he has been for the past five years in a variety of roles, most recently as the VP of Business Development and Partnerships.
Outside of that, Stan is also a seed investor in emerging tech companies such as June, Slite & Madkudu.
Will Holden on the role learning from your mistakes and seeking feedback play in your success.
Having received a Business Management degree from Liverpool John Moores University, Will began his career in the logistics company C.H. Robinson where he learned invaluable sales and life lessons along the way.
From there, Will moved into a management role in Google before spending 5 and half years helping to scale Intercom's EMEA outbound sales function. Just under a year ago, Will left that role to co-found Vidu.io, a tool to help sellers capture prospects’ attention and improve message response rates.
Whether you are just starting out your career or a few years in, there are definitely a few great nuggets in this episode for you to take away.

Imma started her sales career in her native Germany, gaining invaluable experience at NetNames before moving to Dublin working in a variety of sales positions at companies such as DocuSign, BrowserStack, Intercom and most recently, Salesforce.
Outside of her full-time job, Imma is a Community Ambassador for SDRs of Germany and is a longstanding and very popular mentor with us here at Gradguide! Her passion is helping people break into tech sales so this episode is full of stellar advice for anyone interested in following that career path.

During his 4.5 years at the company, Marc worked in a number of roles in the sales team and was a regular member of the President's Club.
Marc left his position there as the Forex and Cryptocurrency Lead in late 2020 to join Notion as their third employee in EMEA to help build out their landing team.
