Danielle Mcgeary from AAMI returns to the show to discuss the recently published HTM Grey Areas report. This was a collaboration effort of multiple surveys, data collection, and consulting from Joint Commission. It breaks down what falls under each department within a medical facility and were those responsibilities my coincide with one another. It a valuable conversation to have to lay out expectations and foster cooperation between each sector of a healthcare system. I sat down with Hobie Sears the director of training and regional service manager at Probo Medical. We discuss the advances in ultraound and his journey within that world. I really wanted to pick is brain on the technology along with what might be some difficulties techs may face learning ultrasound. I wanted to pick his brain on his experience going through it and had him share what others could expect. I start of 2023 with some thoughts I have had brewing in regards to interviewing over the past year. The final episode to cap off the live show of the MD Expo. First, I am joined by two incredible women who exemplify entrepreneurship in every way. Andrea Rincones & Gabriela Fajardo speak about their one stop shop medical supplier that is A&G Biomedical. We discuss different services they offer, and the what the experience of two women jumping into a male dominated realm has been like. Regardless of what hardships they may have faced nothing can stop these two from reaching even greater heights. Secondly, I sit down with Mayra Becerra AKA "The Biomed Girl" who is known across the You Tube BMET space. She is a full-time inhouse technician, member of the Florida Biomedical Society, and pursuer of higher education. I had to ask about her experiences as a woman in the HTM field and dive into her views of how vital women entering the field is today. Social Media is critical aspect of reaching the next generation to inspire them to join the fray. If you don't know about her I suggest you keep note cause she will only do greater things going forward.
Lastly, I had to cap off this three part series of the MD EXPO with the three people who made these episodes happen. I am joined by Jayme Lynn McKelvey, John Krieg, and Kristin Leavoy to reflect on what the 20th anniversary of the MD EXPO means.
